이소플라본과 백수오 보충 섭취가 월경전 증후군, 월경통에 미치는 영향 - 20대 여성을 중심으로- (Effects of Isoflavone and Cynanchum wilfordii Supplementation on Premenstrual Syndrome, Dysmenorrhea - Focus on 20's Women -)

  • Menstrual problem (premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and dysmenorrhea) is a common gynecological complaints among women in reproductive age. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of isoflavone and Cynanchum wilfordii for improvement of premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea. Subjects were 30 college women in Busan, divided into three groups (CG; control group, n=10; IS group; isoflavone supplement group, n=10; CS group; Cynanchum wilfordii supplement group, n=10). They showed 5.0 or higher for menstrual pain when tested by the VAS. IS group was allocated a isoflavone pill (500 mg/day) for 8 weeks, and CS group was allocated a Cynanchum wilfordii pill (6 g/day) for 8 weeks. We administered a menstrual distress questionnaire (MDQ), and visual analogue scale(VAS). There were no differences among the three groups in general characteristics, nutrients intake, MDQ, or VAS. In the CG group, there were no differences in MDQ, or VAS after 8 weeks. In the IS group, negative emotions, behavioral changes, concentration, pain, autonomic nervous system response, water retention, and skin changes significantly improved (P<0.05). In the CS group, negative emotions, pain, autonomic nervous system response, and water retention significantly decreased after 8 weeks (P<0.05). Changes in negative emotion, pain, autonomic nervous system response, water retention, skin changes significantly improved in the CS group compared to the control group (P<0.05). VAS significantly decreased in the IS and CS groups (P<0.05). The decrease in VAS differed among three groups, with the CS group showing a larger decrease than the control group and IS group (P<0.001).

전신 마취 중 심박동변이도와 맥파전달시간 변화의 비교 (Comparison of Heart Rate Variability with Pulse Transit Time during General Anesthesia)

  • Autonomic nervous system of the anesthetized patients can be influenced by the many kinds of stimulations such as intubation, surgical incision and so on. The changes of the heart rates and blood pressures are surrogates of responses of the autonomic system to the external stimulations. Recently, the power spectral analysis of the heart rate variability (HRV) made it easy to know the fractions and changes of sympathetic and parasympathetic autonomic systems. In this study, the changes of pulse transit time, one of the response of vessels to stimulations, was investigated in relation to the HRV. Ten patients were examined and average age is 22.5 $\pm$ 11.04, average weight is 63 $\pm$ 14.4 kg. The patients were anesthetized only by sevoflurane inhalation. Pulse transit time is determined by calculating the difference of the time between the R peak of ECG and the characteristic point of the plethysmography. Power spectral density (PSD) of the HRV was achieved in the frequency of 0.04-0.15 (LF) and 0.15-0.4 (HF). Compared to preanesthetic period the values of LF and LF/HF ratio of HRV were decreased (p<0.05). HF and PTT was increased in anesthetic state with sevoflurane. Otherwise, after intubation, the HF was decreased and LF, LF/HF ratio and PTT were increased. PSD of the HRV is well-known for the index of the autonomic nervous activity. Not only HRV but PTT analysis also is a useful index reflecting the autonomic responses to various stimulations. And this analysis is useful in bed side monitoring because the calculating method is simple and it takes shorter processing time compared to the HRV analysis.

  • Purpose : To research the Skin Resistance Variability(SRV) of premature ovarian failure(POF) patients by Autonomic Bioelectric Response Recorder(ABR-2000 system, Meridian, Korea) and report the specific results in SRV of POF patients. Methods : We measured SRV of 17 POF Patients who came to Conmaul Oriental Medical Hospital during August 2005 ${\sim}$ July 2006 by ABR-2000 system. We analyzed the results which height of graph Part was converted into 0${\sim}$10, and the readings of Low/Normal/High. Results : The mean value of graph height on each(1, 2, 3) part is lower than normal range(4-6) in POF patients. The distribution ratio of Low/Normal/High on each(1, 2, 3) part shows that there are much more Low proportion in POF patients. Conclusion : The low graph height of POF patients on 1, 2, 3 part means that conductivity & capacitance of POF patients is low, especially on head.

연령별 향 감성구조 및 향 감성에 따른 자율신경계 반응 (Psychological Structure and ANS Response by Odor Induced Emotion)

  • 본 연구는 향에 대한 연령별 감성구조를 밝히고, 향 감성에 따른 자율신경계 반응을 규명하기 위해 수행되었다. 실험 참여자는 연령별(10대, 20대, 40대)로 24명씩 총 72명이고, 자극향은 cederwood, grapefruit, teebaum, peppermint, rose향을 사용하였다. 향이 제시되는 동안 혈류량, 피부온도, 피부전기 반응, 심전도 반응을 측정하였고, 향에 대한 주관적 감성을 측정하였다. 향에 의한 심리적 감성구조는 심미성, 강도, 자연성, 개성성, 낭만성의 다섯 요인이 확인되었고, 연령별로 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 향 선호도를 예측하는 감성요인은 연령별에 따라 부분적으로 차이가 있었다. 감성적으로 “나쁜” 향은 “좋은” 향보다 교감신경계 활동에 의한 자율신경계 반응이 더 크게 일어났다.

3D TV 시청으로 유발된 시각피로가 자율신경계 기능에 미치는 영향 (Autonomic Nervous System response affected by 3D visual fatigue evoked during watching 3D TV)

  • 최근 3D TV 보급과 확산에 따른 시각 피로문제가 대두되면서 시각 기능과 인지적 관점에서의 연구가 활발하다. 그러나 3D 시각피로가 자율신경계 기능에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 미비하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 3D TV 시청으로 유발되는 3D 시각피로가 자율신경계 기능에 미치는 영향과 이 영향이 교감 및 부교감 신경계와 심혈관계 반응에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 한다. 피험자는 20 대 남녀 대학생 15 명(남 6 명, 여 9 명, 평균나이 22.53 세 ${\pm}$ 2.55 세)을 대상으로 하였다. 피험자는 편안한 의자에 앉아 3D TV를 1시간 시청하였다. 3D TV 시청 전과 후의 1분간 맥파(PPG, Photo-PlethysmoGram)를 측정하였고 주관설문을 실시하였다. 측정된 신호에서 SDNN (standard deviation of RR intervals), RMS-SD(root mean square successive difference), HF/LF ratio, Ln(LF), Ln(HF)를 추출하여 교감 및 부교감 신경계, 그리고 심혈관계 반응을 확인 하였다. 연구 결과 HF/LF ratio, Ln(LF), Ln(HF)는 시청 후에 유의하게 감소하였고, SDNN, RMS-SD는 통계적 유의차를 확인할 수 없었다. 이 결과는 3D 시각피로가 자율신경계 기능에 영향을 미치고 이로 인해 교감신경계가 항진되는 반응이 나타나며, 심박 변화율이 감소하는 결과를 초래할 가능성을 확인 하였다.

Molecular genetics of congenital central hypoventilation syndrome and Haddad syndrome

  • Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system characterized by a decreased response to hypercarbia. CCHS is frequently associated with congenital megacolon; the combination is called Haddad syndrome. CCHS is associated with dysfunction in respiratory features of the autonomic nervous system and with other disorders, including facial deformities, cardiovascular symptoms, and tumors. Patients with CCHS frequently have a mutation in the homeobox protein 2b (PHOX2B) gene. Most mutations involve heterozygous expansion of alanine repeats (GCN). Interestingly, a higher polyalanine repeat number is associated with a more severe clinical phenotype. To clarify the role of PHOX2B in disease pathogenesis, we introduce and review the clinical and molecular features of CCHS and Haddad syndrome.

Aromatherapy가 자율신경계에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Aromatherapy on the Autonomic Nervous System)

  • 본 연구는 아로마의 흡입법을 적용한 아로마테라피가 자율신경계에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 진행되었다. 연구 대상자는 모집공고에 의해 만 20세 이상~만 59세 이하의 남,여 64명을 대상으로 하였고, 실험군 32명, 대조군 32명을 무작위배정하였다. 실험군에게는 6가지 아로마블렌딩오일(Lavender, Bergamot, Mandarin, Lemon, Cedarwood, Roman Chamomile)을 적용하였으며, 대조군에게는 조조바오일을 적용하여 흡입법을 실시하였다. 실험처치 전과 30분 후에 PPG측정을 위하여 유비오 맥파측정기(uBioClip v70)를 이용해, 실험군과 대조군의 HRV(TP, VLF, LF, HF, LF/HF)를 비교 분석하였다. 통계분석은 측정치의 사전점수를 통제한 공변량분석(ANCOVA)을 사용하였으며, 연구결과 분석된 5개 항목 중 3개 항목인 TP(p<.05), LF(p<.05), HF(p<.01)에서 실험군과 대조군 간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 즉, 아로마테라피가 TP를 향상시켜 자율신경계의 전체 활성도를 증가시키고, 교감과 부교감신경의 활성도를 높여 적당한 긴장과 이완을 통한 심장활동의 촉진에 도움을 주는 것을 알 수 있다. 일상생활에서 아로마테라피를 꾸준히 활용한다면 자율신경계 반응에 긍정적인 영향을 줌으로써, 건강한 생활을 영위할 수 있게 해줄 것이다.

  • 본 연구는 3 단계 각성 모드에 따른 자율신경계 반응 모델 구현에 대한 연구이다. 정신생리학(Psycho-Physiology)에서의 각성 시스템 모델은 Boucein(1992, 2006)에 의해 제안되었다. 각성 시스템 1 은 편도체(amygdala)활동과 관계한, 무의식수준에서 주의를 집중시키는 역할을 한다. 각성 시스템 2 는 해마(hippocampus)활동과 관계한, 인지적 각성 단계로서 상황-반응(situation-reaction) 대한 연결을 담당하는 역할을 한다. 각성 시스템 3 은 기저핵(basal ganglia)활동과 관계한, 몸운동(somatomotor)활동과 관계된 뇌 영역의 준비를 활성화시킨다. 각성 시스템은 상황의 변화나 특정 자극이 일어나면, 그에 해당하는 각성 모드에 의해 자율신경계(automatic nervous system)반응이 발생한다. 따라서, 자율신경계반응의 분석을 통하여 각성 시스템의 단계를 평가할 수 있다. 본 연구는 자율신경계반응 중 GSR(galvanic skin Response)과 SKT(skin temperature)분석을 통하여 3단계 각성 모드인 직관적, 인지적, 행동적 모드를 평가하는 연구이다.

비 전기적 자극에 대한 자율신경계통과 골격근의 반응 (Autonomic and Skeletal Muscle Response to Non-electrical Cutaneous Stimulation)

  • Cutaneous stimulation has had a long history as a method of pain control. While there is general agreement that modern techniques such as electrical stimulation and massage often provide relief from acute pain and may in some cases significantly affect chronic pain, the mechanism by which these techniques affect pain remain unclear. Significant attention has been focused on the effects of stimulation on the autonomic nervous system(ANS) along with the increasing evidence of important ANS modulation of nociceptive activity throughout the pain pathway. However, inconsistent results on the presence and direction of ANS changes from cutaneous stimulation characterize the recent literature. The present study investigated a non-electrical cutaneous stimulation device, the Dermapoints massage roller, as well as an active placebo massage. The results indicate that the Dermapoints massage roller has both general effects associated with simple skin stimulation (such as increased skin temperature), as well as specific effects from increased stimulation by the tooth design of the roller. These specific effects include decreased muscle tension (at least for some muscle sites) and increased sympathetic activation. The results are consistent with a model of activation of Pacinian receptors as a possible mechanism for the antinociceptive properties of cutaneous stimulation.

침과 자율신경계 고찰;인체의 심박변이도 중심으로 (Review on acupuncture and autonomic nervous system;Heart rate variability analysis in humans)

  • Objectives : Acupuncture restores the flow of vital energy in the body by stimulating the organ-specific meridians and enhances cardiac vagal activity and suppresses sympathetic activity. The purpose of this review is to summarize and evaluate the acupuncture studies on autonomic nervous system (ANS). Methods : We conducted a PubMed search to obtain a fair sample of acupuncture studies related ANS published in English in 2007. Each article was reviewed for study objectives and outcomes, as well as acupuncture points, experimental and control interventions. Results : We reviewed a total of 15 studies published from 1997 to 2007. In normal states, acupuncture enhanced either vagal or sympathetic tone depending on the stimulated acupuncture point sites. On the other hand, most of studies demonstrated that acupuncture restored the autonomic dysfunctions in various kinds of stressful states. Conclusions : We reviewed studies that contributed to an understanding of the autonomic mechanisms of acupuncture with the hope that this review will be of benefit to the future studies. Although the relationship between acupuncture and ANS response is still uncertain, acupuncture would be a noteworthy modality for modulating autonomic dysfunction.
