In this paper, numerical analysis of hydrogen recycle system has been conducted in order to enhance the efficiency of automotive fuel cell. Generally, the excess hydrogen is provided in the automotive fuel cell. Since the non-reaction hydrogen reduces automotive fuel cell efficiency, reuse of the non-reaction hydrogen can be helpful to improve the fuel cell performance. In case of PEM FC, the water vapor is provided to hydrogen from the cathode so that the mixture experiences phase change depending on the changes of pressure and temperature. The internal flow of the mixture in the hydrogen recirculation system of fuel cell was investigated for real flow conditions. The variation of performance, properties and mass fractions of mixture, hydrogen and water-vapor were investigated. This study was performed based on 80KW level automotive fuel cell's recycling system.

This study aims at evaluating the environmental impacts stemmed from the End-of-Life Vehicle(ELV) treatment systems in Korea, using Life Cycle Assessment(LCA) method. In this study, both environmental burden from the ELV dismantling process & recycling processes and environmental benefit which were derived from the avoided environmental impacts by substituting recycled materials for virgin materials were considered. First of all, the key issues which were defined as the environmental aspects that account for more than $1\%$ out of the total environmental impacts were identified from the Life Cycle Impact Assessment(LCIA). $CO_2$, crude oil, natural gas, coal, etc. were found out to be the key issue parameters. From the LCI Analysis and LCIA studies, it was shown that the significant environmental aspects were related with the recycling process of ferro scrap, the shredding process of compressed car bodies and the dismantling process of end-of-life engines. In particular, the recycling process of ferro scrap has the most significant effects on the environmental impacts of the ELV treatment systems. Based on these results, it is recommended to improve the recycling process of ferro scrap in order to make the ELV treatment systems more environmentally sound.

The growing demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles to reduce energy consumption and air pollution is a challenge for the automotive industry. The characteristic properties of aluminum, high strengrth stiffness to weight ratio, good formability, good corrosion resistence, and recycling potential make it the ideal candidate to replace heavier materials in the car to respond to the weight resuction demand within the automotive industry. In this paper, A series of compression test was carried out to find the flow stress of A6082 at 300, 400 and $500^{\circ}C$, then we tried to estimate weldability, extrusion load and effective stress of die in the aluminum extrusion process through the 3D FE simulation at non-steady state for aluminum automotive parts.

Remanufacturing of automobile parts is important for increasing the recycling resources. ECU(Electronic Control Unit) systems are becoming an increasingly important part of an automobile. But production company are reported in the ECU remanufacturing industry of domestic automobile parts due to a lack of remanufacturing technology and marketability. This paper introduces the ECU of remanufacturing, also grasps the structure and the analyzes failure cause that is external factors and fault in the characteristic design and steps in the Independent ECU remanufacturing process. The ECU manufacturing industry of the US was examined. The results in this paper could be used as the system information for further remanufacturing industry of domestic automobile parts.
Due to environment problems in end of Life Vehicle in the country, the interest in remanufacturing is heightened than ever. In this study, it is important to quantitatively evaluate the economic effect of the introduction of the automotive remanufacturing business and analyzed cost-benefit for the three species of bumpers, doors, fenders, which is relatively lower remanufactured automotive component. The results showed that cost-beneift of each parts were analyzed 54,000 per one part, and if remanufacturing were 50%, benefits were to occur with a profit of 226,060 won. Thus, remanufacturing of bumpers, doors, fender resulted a significant benefit, and then it is possible that remanufacturing company have enough economic value for remanufacturing.

In this research, through LCA analysis, the environmental impact of automotive engine manufacturing and re-manufacturing was analyzed from the perspective of the entire process, and the greenhouse gas reduction effect was calculated based on this. The amount of greenhouse gas emitted from the process of acquiring and manufacturing raw materials for automotive engines is about 3,473 kg for new manufacturing and 872 kg for re-manufacturing. Thus, the amount of greenhouse gas reduction by engaging in re-manufacturing is about 2,601 kg; the analysis shows a reduction effect in each part of the entire process except for the processing stage. As a result of the LCA weighted analysis, the environmental impact of new product manufacturing was found to be 1.07E+03 Eco-point, and it was 2.67E+02 Eco-point for re-manufacturing. The share of GWP(Global Warming Potential) among the six major impact categories(Abiotic Depletion Potential, Acidification Potential, Eutrophication Potential, Global Warming Potential, Ozone-layer Depletion Potential, Photochemical Oxidant Creation Potential) as high at 99.72%(new manufacturing) and 99.68%(re-manufacturing).

Resource recovery and recycling of materials and products, including polyurethanes is viewed as a necessity in today's society. Most urethane polymers are made from a polyol and a diisocyanate. these and be chemicals such as water, diamines or diols that react with isocyanate groups and add to the polymer backbone. The problems of recycling polyurethane wastes has major technological, economic and ecological significance because polyurethane itself is relatively expensive and its disposal whether by burning is also costly. In general, the recycling methods for polyurethane could be classified as mechanical, chemical and feedstock. In the chemical recycling method, there are hydrolysis, glycolysis, pyrolysis and aminolysis. This study, the work was carried out glycolysis using sonication ant catalyzed reaction. Different kinds of recycled polyols were produced by current method(glycolysis), catalyzed reaction and sonication as decomposers and the chemical properties were analyzed. The reaction results in the formation of polyester urethane diols, the OH value which is determined by the quantity of diol used for the glycolysis conditions. The glycolysis rates by sonication for the various glycols, increased as fallows: PPG

This paper represents a study on disassembly sequence generation for automobile parts. This is particularly useful because adequate end-of-life disassembly becomes crucial as take-back obligations are imposed for environmental reasons. Therefore in this paper a method is suggested to automatically derive all the feasible subassemblies and feasible actions between them from the assembly modeling files. As a result, in consideration of the all pars and subassemblies the optimum disassembly sequence is generated. And the optimum disassembly sequence for a certain part or subassembly can be also generated.

The exchangeability of subassembly has a good relationship with the modularization of product. This relationship can be found by the analysis of the characteristics of a product. The weight for decision factors for the modularization can be determined by the exchangeability of a product or subassembly. The functions, structure, materials of subassembly are used as the decision parameters of exchangeability. Using these selected parameters, the modularization of a product, the characteristics of product structure, and the product function are analyzed. And then, the weighting factors could be calculated quantitatively using this relationship and the parameters of the exchangeability. The calculated weight can contribute to help a designer design for recycling (DFR), design for energy (DFE) and Eco-design.

The scale of repair parts market reached 0.1 billion won. Above all, it is remarkable that the automotive insurance business world is paying f3r 40 ~5o% of the whole repair cost. The repair parts consist of a genuine parts, non-genuine parts, recycling used parts. It is the recent trend that recycled parts are more popular than the genuine parts f3r repairing crashed cars due to the cost. Performance of recycled continuous velocity(CV) joints and power steering(PS) gear box as replacement parts was tested and analysed in this study. To examine the durability of the recycled parts, the replaced CV joints and PS gear box after repair were tested and analysed periodically. The results were showed that basic performance of the recycled parts was normal. However the ball cage of CV joints was more frequently damaged than genuine parts. We concluded that a test standard and amendment of related laws for recycled parts is required to get a safe and durable parts.
