자동차 프런트 샤시 모듈의 좌표 해석 (Dimensional Analysis for the Front Chassis Module in the Auto Industry)

  • The directional ability of an automobile has an influence on driver directly, and hence it must be given most priority. Alignment factors of automobile such as the camber, caster and toe directly affect the directional ability of a vehicle. The above mentioned factors are determined by the pose of interlinks in the assembly of an automobile front chassis module. Measuring the position of center point of ball joints in the front lower arm is very difficult. A method to determine this position is suggested in this paper. Pose estimation for front chassis module and dimensional evaluation to find the rotational characteristics of front lower arm were developed based on fundamental geometric techniques. To interpret the inspection data obtained for front chassis module, 3-D best fit method is needed. The best fit method determines the relationship between the nominal design coordinate system and the corresponding feature coordinate system. The least squares method based on singular value decomposition is used in this paper.

  • As automobile industry develope, design techniques to satisfy light weight and high efficiency in automobile parts is demanded. In this study modal analysis is performed using transfer matrix method to identify dynamic characteristics of exhaust system. It is estimated the theoretical transfer function by Pestel-Leckey method and the mode shapes in 3-D graphic. the validity of developed program is verified by comparing with the experimental results of exhaust system. Estimated modal parameters(natural frequency, vibrational mode, transfer function) are in accord with the experimental results. From the developed program, we can predict a location of the hanger which is determined by the lowest RMS value point, when displacement is given as an input at the engine side. We can find that attachment of spring modelled hanger at the hanger location bring vibration level down.

  • As the technique of automobile industry is being advanced, the advancement of vehicle ride is being required. In order to achieve this purpose, the study on the vibration which are produced by moving vehicle is carried out actively. In this study, the tire vibration characteristics for passing over a cleat are analyzed. The model is verified against simulations and experiments. The tire is modeled with 7-DOFs (degree of freedom), and the effects of changing tire design parameters are considered. According to the results of analysis, the design parameters that reduce the tire and wheel vibration energy are conducted.

  • Digital representations of products and parts have largely replaced physical drawings as the form in which product data are stored, analyzed, and communicated among the people contributing to the design of an automobile. Many individuals and companies participate in the design of an increasingly complex automobile; hence, the design process depends critically on team members' ability to share information about essential design elements. These trends have elevated the importance of the quality of product data and its efficient exchange. In this paper, we show state-of-the-art on Product Data Quality(PDQ), and activities of PDQ assurance. And we propose a novel design history-based approach for diagnosis and healing of a CAD model.

점진적 성형 기술을 이용한 자동차 차체 모형 제품의 제작 (Application of Incremental Sheet Metal Forming for Automotive Body-In-White Manufacturing)

  • Recently incremental sheet metal forming (ISF) has used widely in making prototypes and small-volume products in automotive industry etc. We apply the ISF to make a 1/4 sized automobile body-in-white. First, ISF tests for rectangular shaped cup have been performed to clarify the formability denoting the relationship between the component wall angle and maximum cup height of safe forming. Next, a CAD model for the automobile was designed and segmented into several components in order to accommodate the working space of the CNC machine we adopted and the formability of the sheet metal. Then, a CAM software was employed to generate the tool path for manufacturing wooden dies and all the small parts. Finally, the different parts were joined into a single component by laser welding after the ISF process. By using the ISF we successfully produced the 1/4 sized automobile body-in-white.

  • In the automobile industry, the various efforts to lower their industrial cost and enhance fuel efficiency have been made through process improvement or weight saving of automobile parts. Gear is one of significant parts of transmission, which is made by cast iron or alloy steel. It is expensive due to complex processing, inferior materials and large machining allowance. In this study, alternative gear cars oil which is based on fluid applications materials is produced by reducing surface induction hardening and carburizing hardened in production. And then, wear characteristic and mechanical properties such as hardness of the sintered alloy which is used as a substitute for small machining allowance is investigated.

  • In the trend of globalization and location transfer of existing production bases is still characterized by an extremely unstable status between different countries and different regions. The results are negative impacts on cost, quality and speed of project implementation, especially automobile industry which is one of the most complex manufacturing sectors. In order to overcome problems from Global Standardization of Production Line and its Localization, it is highly required comprehensive coordination among design of production equipment, production technology, space and interfaces. It is necessary to set up standard of production equipment and building for parallel progress, in order to complete production line in shortest time for launching product. In addition, this standard should keep flexibility with consideration of local situation which means "Glocalization."

  • 기업성과 평가는 일정기간동안 기업 활동의 결과로서 기업의 경쟁력 수준을 제시함과 동시에 미래 기업의 활동 방향에 대한 지침으로서 역할을 수행한다. 경영환경이 급속히 변화하는 지식정보사회에서 재무적인 측정지표에 근거한 성과측정은 그 효과성이 제한되어 있음을 부인할 수 없다. 그러나 재무지표의 비중을 너무 가볍게 여겨서는 안 될 것이다. 그 이유는 품질이나 고객만족 또는 혁신 등과 같은 기업 목표들은 매우 전략적이고 좋은 것이기는 하지만 이것들은 반드시 재무적인 성과로 연결이 되어야 하고 나아가 기업성과로 구체화되어야 하기 때문이다. 즉, 재무적 성과는 다른 관점의 성과들과 상호보완적이고 균형적인 관계를 유지해야 한다. 자동차 유통시스템의 고객만족도와 재무적 성과 사이에 차이가 있는지를 살펴본 결과 신뢰도, 고객충성도, 재구매의사 및 구전광고에서는 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 고객만족도와 재무적 성과 사이에 차이가 있는지를 살펴본 결과 재무적 성과 변수인 안정성, 성장성, 활동성에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 현재 자동차 산업은 인포테인먼트 시스템에 대한 수요 증가와 요구에 부응하기 위하여 MOST(Media Oriented Systems Transport)라는 차량용 멀티미디어 네트워크 기술을 적용하게 되었고, MOST25 네트워크의 경우 현재 일부 차종에 제한적으로 장착되어 사용되고 있으나, 대역폭과 호환성 등의 문제가 발생하였으며, 이를 해결하고자 MOST150 기술의 개발과 이를 차량에 적용하고자 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 차량용 MOST150/Ethernet Gateway 구현에 있어서 효과적인 이더넷 트래픽 처리를 위해 MOST150의 등시채널(Isochronous channel), MOST 이더넷 패킷 채널(Ethernet Packet channel) 등의 Management Mapping 방법에 대해 분석하고 효율적인 알고리즘에 대하여 연구하고자 한다.

When Does Auto-Parts Suppliers' Innovation Reduce Their Dependence on the Automobile Assembler?

  • Purpose - This study is to investigate the determinants of suppliers' dependence on buyers in the home country by developing a theoretical model of innovative activities. The high dependence of auto parts suppliers on a single local buyer in South Korea due to firm ownership issues and incremental innovation is examined using data from a set of organizations that supply intermediate goods to this automotive manufacturer. Furthermore, we tested the moderating effect of FDI and global knowledge sourcing on the relationship between firm ownership and suppliers' dependence on the local buyer. Design/methodology - To test the hypotheses, we examined a sample of 101 suppliers over 10 years in the Korean automobile parts industry. In this empirical analysis, we utilized a fixed-effects generalized least squares model using panel data. Findings - In this study, domestic firms (automobile parts suppliers) were more dependent on a single local buyer (automobile assembler) than foreign-owned suppliers operating in Korea. In addition, incremental innovation was the mediating mechanism between domestic firms and dependence on the local buyer. To reduce this dependence on the buyer, we suggest two different international strategies: geographical diversification through FDI and global knowledge sourcing. Originality/value - Previous studies showed that asymmetric dependence between firms has many adverse effects. This study proved that domestic and foreign-owned suppliers have different levels of dependence on local buyers due to their heterogeneous characteristics and business strategies. We distinguish two different types of innovation - radical innovation and incremental innovation - that previous studies have often treated as equal when it comes to firm autonomy. Finally, we propose that both FDI and international knowledge sourcing as global strategies to weaken suppliers' asymmetric dependence on a single buyer.
