A Study on Change in Automobile Distribution Structure : Focusing on Domestic Distribution

  • Purpose - O2O (online to off-line) is a new economic concept being emerged in the 4th industrial age. Automobile distribution is also undergoing a change to the O2O system. In overseas, vehicles are already being sold through various online platforms. The purpose of this study is to analyze the domestic and foreign automobile distribution structure and intends to suggest the desirable direction of automobile sales in the 4th industrial age. Research design, data, and methodology - Through the investigation of previous studies and the actual cases, the advantages and disadvantages and trends of different types of automobile distribution structures. Result - It can be seen that domestic and foreign automobile brands have quite diverse distribution structures such as direct managed system, agency system, dealer system, direct sales system, online system and online/offline parallel system. Each type has its own characteristics. Conclusion - The distribution structure of automobiles is very diverse, and in particular, it is rapidly changing to an online sales system thanks to the development of information and communication technology and Internet technology and the popularization of smartphones.   • This study shows a numerical method to predict automobile type air conditioner tube connector in the forming process. The simulation approach with 3-D FEM program(ABAQUS) for forming process, forming process simulation is in good agrement with it in tendency. Finally, we compared the forming result with simulation. The result of research showed thai forming process technology is promising to produce automobile type air conditioner tube connector.

  • Because of using electrical technologies in the automobile system. It is difficult to detect and recover malfunction of the automobile system. Only the skillful repair engineers could find and repair their problems in these days, but their inconsistent knowhow make it hard to accumulate their knowledge.   • Acoustic holography is applied to automobile aeroacoustic noise. Automobile aeroacoustic noise has low coherence due to multiple independent sources and measurement noise. This paper discusses the reliability of acoustic holography on this low coherence condition. Main subjects are the number and position of reference microphones, which is used for a step-by-step scanning method, and measurement noise. A real automobile experiment verifies the results.

How Does Technological Convergence Influence Firm Performance?: A Case Study of Automobile Firms Adopting Aircraft Technologies (기술 융합이 기업 성과에 미치는 영향: 항공기 기술을 사용한 자동차 기업을 중심으로)

  • We investigate the effect of technology convergence and spillover on firm performance. In doing so we specifically examine how automobile firms adapting aircraft technologies perform in stock market and product market. In order to use technology convergence and spillover, we investigate the patent citation relationship between aircraft and automobile related patents and construct the measures on automobile firms' adaptation of aircraft technologies. We also measure automobile firms' performance based on market value of firms in the stock market and revenues in product market. We find that the market value increases as automobile firms use the knowledge of aircraft technologies more. However, there is no relationship between the use of the aircraft technology and the revenue of automobile firms. This suggests that the use of advance aircraft technology plays a positive signaling role in financial market while it is not associated with generating revenues in product market.

  • In the respect of automobile history, the tendency to the development of automobiles for the latest 100 years has been leaded by technical performances. Especially, with the rapid growth of the newest electronic industry, the technical know-hows of automobiles improved in short terms have brought about outstanding results. The differences of the technical know-hows are little between some of the famous automobile manufacturing industries and the rising. So, now, the automobile design became a basis in selecting a car. The latest tendency to automobile style in accordance with the improvement of a universal life quality has been changed to a characteristic design meeting various needs of customers. RV, UV, MPV(and so forth ) meeting their needs made an appearance, or a characteristic model derived from them respectively appeared. We tried to study a new mini SUV-typed-concepcar design with a touch of the next concept. The whole design process from our researches to the end hard model was performed at the Design Center, Daewoo Automobile, based on the automobile design processes. Especially, We styled an automobile concept as inexpensive, characteristic, new one to have a car easily at the young and made an analysis of customers' responses for referring to this study in generating the next SUV-typed-automobile.

Analysis of Automobile Industry Trends and Demand Forecasting of Monthly Automobile Sales in Chin (중국 내 자동차 산업 동향과 월별 판매량 시계열분석)

  • In this study, we introduced the development status and the government policy of the Chinese automobile industry under the rapidly changing global economic environment. We conducted a consumer trend survey on automobile purchases by consumers in China. Despite the Chinese government's strong national emission control policy and stricter standards for manufacturing and selling internal combustion engine vehicles, 59.6% of respondents saying they would choose an internal combustion engine vehicle when purchasing a vehicle in the future for various reasons. It was confirmed that there is a significant gap between government policies and consumer perceptions. In addition, we have discovered the recent declining trend of automobile sales in China, and used the monthly sales volume from January 2010 to December 2020 as training set, and the sales volume from January 2021 to November 2022 as a test set. We proposed and evaluated a time-series model for predicting future automobile demand in China. Then, we showed the monthly sales forecast for 2023 when each model was applied.
