  • Movement order program of robot operating program is generally made by teach-in method. Therefore in most cases it is sufficient as long as the robot system shows a reguired repeatability for the working conditions. But the trend in the robot application moves to the automatic generation of the working programs. A mathematical robot model similar to the reality is necessary for the analysis of the kinematic transformation of the robot system. The purposes of this paper are to make a better describing form and to suggest an automatic algorithm for kinematic parameter identification.

Automatic measurement of blade width using image processing techniques (영상처리에 의한 연삭면 너비 계측)

  • In the blade grinding process, Blade image is captured. It is captured in the environment with vibration, using monochrome CCD camera with high speed electronic shutter. The image is preprocessed using LoG filter and zero crossing. We used Hough transformation to detect straight lines from the preprocessed image. From the equations of detected lines, we calculated width between lines caused by grinders. This paper proposes automatic measurement of blade width to automate the process control of blade grinding line.

A Study on the Automatic Parallelization Method and Tool Development

  • Recently, computer hardware is evolving toward increasing the number of computing cores, not increasing the clock speed. In order to use the performance of parallelized hardware to the maximum, the running program must also be parallelized. However, software developers are accustomed to sequential programs, and in most cases, write programs that operate sequentially. They also have a lot of difficulty designing and developing software in parallel. We propose a method to automatically convert a sequential C/C++ program into a parallelized program, and develop a parallelization tool that supports it. It supports open multiprocessing (OpenMP) and parallel patterns library (PPL) as a parallel framework. Perfect automatic parallelization is difficult due to dynamic features such as pointer operation and polymorphism in C/C++ language. This study focuses on verifying the conditions of parallelization rather than focusing on fully automatic parallelization, and providing advice to developers in detail if parallelization is not possible.

  • In this study, Automatic Speech Recognition Application System is designed and implemented to realize transformation from present GUI-centered web services to VUI-centered web service. Due to ASP's restriction with web in reusability and portability, in this study, Automatic Speech Recognition Application System with Javabeans Component Architecture is devised and studied. Also the voice web browsing which is able to transfer voice and graphic information simultaneously is studied using Remote AWT(Abstract Windows Toolkit).

Effect of Thermo-Mechanical Treatment on the Damping Capacity of Alloy with Deformation Induced Martensite Transformation (가공유기 마르텐사이트 변태를 갖는 합금의 감쇠능에 미치는 가공열처리의 영향)

  • This study investigates the effect of thermo-mechanical treatment on the damping capacity of the Fe-20Mn-12Cr-3Ni-3Si alloy with deformation induced martensite transformation. Dislocation, ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ and ${\varepsilon}-martensite$ are formed, and the grain size is refined by deformation and thermo-mechanical treatment. With an increasing number cycles in the thermo-mechanical treatment, the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}-martensite$ increases and then decreases, whereas dislocation and ${\alpha}^{\prime}-martensite$ increases, and the grain size is refined. In thermo-mechanical treated specimens with five cycles, more than 10 % of the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}-martensite$ and less than 3 % of the volume fraction of ${\alpha}^{\prime}-martensite$ are attained. Damping capacity decreases by thermo-mechanical treatment and with an increasing number of cycles of thermo-mechanical treatment, and this result shows an opposite tendency for general metal with deformation induced martensite transformation. The damping capacity of the thermo-mechanical treated damping alloy with deformation induced martensite transformation greatly affect the formation of dislocation, grain refining and ${\alpha}^{\prime}-martensite$ and then ${\varepsilon}-martensite$ formation by thermo-mechanical treatment.

  • We introduce the algorithms of 3-D position estimation using a laser sensor for automatic die remodeling. First, a vision sensor based on the optical triangulation was used to collect the range data of die surface. Second, line vector equations were constructed by the measured range data, and an analytic algorithm was proposed for recognizing the die location with these vector equations. This algorithm could make the transformation matrix without any specific corresponding points. To ascertain this algorithm, folded SUS plate was measured by the laser vision sensor attached to a 3-axis cartesian manipulator and the transformation matrix was calculated.

  • This paper presents a facial expression transformation algorithm and drawing rule generation algolithm for a portrait drawing robot which was developed for the '93 Taejeon EXPO. The developed algorithm was mainly focused on the robust automatic generation of robot programs with the consideration that the drawing robot should work without any limitation of the age, sex or race for the persons. In order to give more demonstratin effects, the facial expression change of the pictured person was performed.

  • Data warehouse(DW) manages all information in a Enterprise and also offers the specific information to users. However, it might be difficult to develope an effective DW system due to varieties in computing facilities, data base, and operating systems. The heterogeneous system environments make it harder to extract data and to provide proper information to usesr in real time. Also commonly occurred is data inconsistency of non-integrated legacy system, which requires an effective and efficient data extraction flow control as well as data cleansing. We design the integrated automatic ETT(Extraction Transformation Transportation) system to control data extraction flow and suggest implementation methodology. Detail analysis and design are given to specify the proposed ETT approach with a real implementation.
