A Study on Reliability of Joint Orientation Measurements in Rock Slope using 3D Laser Scanner (3D Laser Scanner를 이용한 암반사면의 절리방향 측정의 신뢰성에 관한 연구)

  • We must precisely investigate the mechanical characters of rock to design rock slope safely and efficiently. But the method of clinometer has some disadvantages. So, we need a new measurement that can replace the method of clinometer. In this study, we analyze the reliability of joint orientation measurements in rock slope using the 3D laser scanner and program Split-FX that is a point cloud data analysis software. We could acquire the 495 pieces joint data through the automatic extraction of features. And we confirmed that there were some errors occurred with ${\pm}4^{\circ}$ of dip and ${\pm}5^{\circ}$ of dip direction. Generally, the method of clinometer has ${\pm}5^{\circ}$ and ${\pm}10^{\circ}$ error ranges of the joint orientation(dip/dip direction) that are the results of the advance research. Therefore, we analyzed the method of 3D laser scanner, and it is found to be efficient, reliable. This method is expected to mend the disadvantages of Clinometer method.

A Study on the Automatic Detection of Railroad Power Lines Using LiDAR Data and RANSAC Algorithm (LiDAR 데이터와 RANSAC 알고리즘을 이용한 철도 전력선 자동탐지에 관한 연구)

  • LiDAR has been one of the widely used and important technologies for 3D modeling of ground surface and objects because of its ability to provide dense and accurate range measurement. The objective of this research is to develop a method for automatic detection and modeling of railroad power lines using high density LiDAR data and RANSAC algorithms. For detecting railroad power lines, multi-echoes properties of laser data and shape knowledge of railroad power lines were employed. Cuboid analysis for detecting seed line segments, tracking lines, connecting and labeling are the main processes. For modeling railroad power lines, iterative RANSAC and least square adjustment were carried out to estimate the lines parameters. The validation of the result is very challenging due to the difficulties in determining the actual references on the ground surface. Standard deviations of 8cm and 5cm for x-y and z coordinates, respectively are satisfactory outcomes. In case of completeness, the result of visual inspection shows that all the lines are detected and modeled well as compare with the original point clouds. The overall processes are fully automated and the methods manage any state of railroad wires efficiently.

  • Various adult diseases (cerebral apoplexy, athymiait, etc.) result from hypertension, blood circulation disturbance and increment of HBP. In early diagnosis of these diseases, MRI, X-ray and PET have been used rather aim for treatment than for a prevention of disease. Since. cerebral apoplexy and athymiait could appear to the regular/irregular persons, it is very important to measure HBP which has connection with cerebral blood flow state. HBP has more diagnosis elements than that of BP. So, we can diagnose accurate hypertension by measuring of HBP. But, existing sphygmomanometers and automatic BP monitors can not measure HBP, and can not execute complex function(measuring of BP/HBP, blood flow improvement). Purpose of this paper is to develop a system and algorithm which can measure BP/HBP for accurate diagnosis. Also, we extracted diagnosis factors by correlativity analysis of BP/HBP. Maximum pressure of HBP corresponds to 62% that of BP, Minimum pressure of HBP corresponds to 46% that of BP. Therefore, we developed the multi-function automatic blood pressure monitor which can measure BP/HBP and improve cerebral blood flow state.

  • The ventilation in greenhouse have been important for such as adjustment of temperature, supplying of the oxygen, prevention of the overhumidity, density adjustment of $CO_2$, discharge of harmfulness gas, etc. However, the general ventilation which had been used the quantitative control method in discharge of a property of air mechanism in greenhouse, and caused mainly in waste of the heating energy and growth obstacle of the vegetable. Therefore, this study was peformed to obtain more scientific ventilation method using by analysis and measurement of the isothermal lines according to opening of window ventilation in greenhouse, and the results are summarized as follows. 1. The ventilating amount was more influenced by rather opening amount of window than the ventilating time. 2. In window ventilation, the temperature in greenhouse was mostly changed within 5 minutes after ventilating not regard to the spot of opening, after about 10 minutes temperature became to equilibrium state under the respective ventilating conditions. 3. In opening of the skylight only, isothermal lines were complicated, therefore, a tall vegetable may be possible to damage by a cold-weather from the lower central port in greenhouse. 4. Isothermal lines were a tendency to simply in opening of a side window that may be more effective ventilation in kinds of the short vegetable. 5. In conditions of internal temperature>setting temperature>external temperature, a skylight can be suitable to open 10~20cm in order to the optimum ventilation in greenhouse. 6. In conditions of internal temperature>external temperature>setting temperature, opening of all the windows or both the side windows that can be suitable in order to obtain the optimum ventilation in greenhouse. 7. An effect of ventilation was the most excellent to open of all the windows or both the side windows, and it were also found orderly excellent to open of the side window and the skylight or the skylight only, to open of the side window only. 8. A Robust Method for Automatic Generation of Moire Reference Phase from Noisy Image (노이즈 영상으로부터 모아레 기준 위상의 강인 자동 생성 방법)

  • This paper presents the automatic vision algorithm to generate and calibrate reference phase plane to improve the accuracy of 3D measuring machine of using phase shifting projection moire method, which is not traditional N-bucket method, but is based on direct image processing method to the pattern projection image. Generally, to acquire accurate reference phase plane, the calibration specimen with well treated surface is needed, and detailed calibration method should be performed. For the cost reduction of specimen manufacturing and the calibration time reduction, on the specimen, not specially designed, with general accuracy level, an efficient calibration procedure for the reference phase generation is proposed. The proposed vision algorithm is developed to extract the line center points of the projected line pattern from acquired images, derive the line feature information consisting of its slope and intercept by using sampled feature points, and finally generate the related reference phase between line pairs. Experimental results show that the proposed method make reference phase plane with a good accuracy under noisy environment and the proposed algorithm can reduce the total cost to make high accurate calibration specimen, also increase the accuracy of reference phase plane, and reduce the complex calibration procedure to move grid via N-bucket algorithm precisely.

  • In this work, we propose a method for automatically determining the domain of columns of file data structured by csv format. New data can be generated through convergence between data and data, and the consistency of the joined columns must be maintained in order for these new data to become an important resource. One of the methods for measuring data quality is a domain-based quality diagnosis method. Domain is the broadest indicator that defines the nature of each column, so a method of automatically determining it is necessary. Although previous studies mainly studied domain automatic discrimination of relational databases, this study developed a model that can automate domains using the characteristics of file data. In order to specialize in the domain discrimination of file data, the data were simplified and patterned using a regular expression, and the contents of the data header corresponding to the column name were analyzed, and the suffix used was used as a derived variable. When derivatives of regular expressions and suffixes were added, the result of automatically determining the domain with an accuracy of 95% greater than the existing method of 87% was derived. This study is expected to reduce the quality measurement period and number of people by presenting an automation methodology to the quality diagnosis of public data.

  • Economic damage is occurring due to landslides and debris flows that occur when the ground artificially created for roads or photovoltaic power generation facilities is weakened by rainfall such as torrential rain. In order to understand the stability of the artificially created ground, it is very important to check the ground information such as the compositional state and mechanical characteristics of the stratum. However, since most of the investigation sites are steep slopes or there are no access roads, it is not easy to enter the drilling equipment commonly used to check ground information and perform standard penetration tests. In this study, a dynamic cone penetration test (DCP) device using a miniaturized auger drilling equipment and an automatic drop device was developed to check the cone resistance value and the dynamic cone penetration test value and analyze the correlation with the standard penetration test value to confirm its applicability at the mountain solar power generation site. As a result, the cone resistance value is qd = 0.46 N and the dynamic cone penetration test value is Nd = 1.58 N, confirming a value similar to the results of existing researchers to secure its reliability.

Fully Automatic Coronary Calcium Score Software Empowered by Artificial Intelligence Technology: Validation Study Using Three CT Cohorts

  • Objective: This study aimed to validate a deep learning-based fully automatic calcium scoring (coronary artery calcium [CAC]_auto) system using previously published cardiac computed tomography (CT) cohort data with the manually segmented coronary calcium scoring (CAC_hand) system as the reference standard. Materials and Methods: We developed the CAC_auto system using 100 co-registered, non-enhanced and contrast-enhanced CT scans. For the validation of the CAC_auto system, three previously published CT cohorts (n = 2985) were chosen to represent different clinical scenarios (i.e., 2647 asymptomatic, 220 symptomatic, 118 valve disease) and four CT models. The performance of the CAC_auto system in detecting coronary calcium was determined. The reliability of the system in measuring the Agatston score as compared with CAC_hand was also evaluated per vessel and per patient using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and Bland-Altman analysis. The agreement between CAC_auto and CAC_hand based on the cardiovascular risk stratification categories (Agatston score: 0, 1-10, 11-100, 101-400, > 400) was evaluated. Results: In 2985 patients, 6218 coronary calcium lesions were identified using CAC_hand. The per-lesion sensitivity and false-positive rate of the CAC_auto system in detecting coronary calcium were 93.3% (5800 of 6218) and 0.11 false-positive lesions per patient, respectively. The CAC_auto system, in measuring the Agatston score, yielded ICCs of 0.99 for all the vessels (left main 0.91, left anterior descending 0.99, left circumflex 0.96, right coronary 0.99). The limits of agreement between CAC_auto and CAC_hand were 1.6 ± 52.2. The linearly weighted kappa value for the Agatston score categorization was 0.94. The main causes of false-positive results were image noise (29.1%, 97/333 lesions), aortic wall calcification (25.5%, 85/333 lesions), and pericardial calcification (24.3%, 81/333 lesions). Conclusion: The atlas-based CAC_auto empowered by deep learning provided accurate calcium score measurement as compared with manual method and risk category classification, which could potentially streamline CAC imaging workflows.

  • A specific and sensitive sandwich enzyme-immunoassay (EIA) using Avidin-Biotin complex was developed for the measurement of GTH II levels in pituitary content and pituitary cell culture medium of the rainbow trout-(Oncorhpchus mykiss). Biotin-salmon GTH II rabbit IgG (sefondary antibody) wai purified by a protein A sepharose affinity chromatography column and that was biotinylated by using Biotin-N-hydroxysuccinimide ofter (BNHS). Non-biotin salmon GTH II rabbit IgG (first antibody) was obtained only through a protein A sepharose affinity chromatography column. The assay was performed by the so-called 'sandwich' method using a microtiter plate, A dose-response curve was obtained between $0.12 to 125 ng/ml$ of salmon GTH II. The displacement curves for pituitary extraction and pituitary cell culture medium of testosterone-treated rainbow trout were Parallel to the standard curie. The intra-assay and inter-assay coefficients of variation (CV) were $8.2{\%} (N=5) and 12.5{\%} (N=6)$, respectively, This assay system was used to measure the amount of GTH II that accumulated in the culture medium of dispersed pituitary cells in testosterone-treated immature rainbow trout, The accumulation was increased with the amount or salmon gonadotropin-releasing hormone. GTH II values determined by the present method were well correlated with those determined by radioimmunoassay. As a result, this assay system was found to be suitable for the measurement of GTH II for pituitary extraction and pituitary culture medium in many salmonid fishes.

Factors Influencing Frequency of Abnormal Peak in the Measurement of HbA1c by HPLC (HPLC법을 이용한 HbA1c 측정시 Abnormal Peak의 빈도와 원인)

  • We experienced the specimen that contains a hemoglobin variant known as interference from HbAS in October 2003. It was the first case of Hb variants since Samsung Medical Center began conducting glycohemoglobin College of American Pathologists surveys in 1997. The purpose of this study is to share our experience with the specimen and promote the understanding of Hb variants & derivatives. We've performed cross checks to examine HbA1c by using two pieces of equipment; the TOSHOH G7 and BIO-RAD VARIANT-T(turbo), and Automatic High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) as an analytic measurement method. HPLC provides different fractional information of hemoglobin with a two-dimensional graph as well as numeric results. We have been performing a "Systematic Checking Process". Three specimen suspicious of Hb variants & derivatives were found through this process. College of American Pathologists notified that it is important for users to be aware of the limitation of their glycohemoglobin method to avoid reporting incorrect results due to interference from hemoglobin variants or hemoglobin adducts. Therefore, laboratory findings of Hb variants & derivatives are very important. The experience of qualified technicians with professional knowledge in Hb variants is the most important aspect in finding Hb variants. Korea is homogeneous in race and is not in an area with a higher finding rate of Hb variants. While 1,024 cases of Hb variants have been found in Japan, we do not have specific data on how many cases of Hb variants have been found in Korea. Considering Hb variant cases in Japan, which is geographically close to us, it is presumed that there must be various Hb variant cases in Korea. If domestic laboratories set a systemic protocol and build a network to share our experience in Hb variants, I expect the Korean Hb variants could also be listed on the world's Hb variant list.
