예인형 수동소나에 적합한 전방위 표적 자동탐지 및 추적기법 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Omni-Directional Automatic Target Detection and Tracking for a Towed Array Passive Sonar System)

  • In towed array passive sonar system, sonar operators cannot detect and track the all targets simultaneously in the omni-directional area by just Operator Initiated Tracking(OIT). In this paper, omni-directional automatic target detection and tracking algorithm is described and optimize the parameters through ocean data to overcome the drawbacks of OITs. The algorithm is verified through sea trials with submarines.

  • The automatic target detection which automatically identifies the location of the target with its input image is one of the significant subjects of image processing field. Then, there are some problems that should be solved to detect the target automatically from the input image. First of all, the ambiguity of the boundary between targets or between a target and background should be solved and the target should be searched adaptively. In other words, the target should be identified by the relative brightness to the background, not by the absolute brightness. In this paper, to solve these problems, a new algorithm which can identify the target automatically is proposed. This algorithm uses the set of fuzzy for solving the ambiguity between the boundaries, and using the weight according to the brightness of data in the input image, the target is identified adaptively by the relative brightness to the background. Applying this algorithm to real images, it is experimentally proved that it is can be effectively applied to the automatic target detection.

  • Visual inspection is regarded as one of the critical activities for quality control in a manufacturing company. it is thus important to improve the performance of detecting a defective part or product. There are three probable working modes for visual inspection: fully automatic (by automatic machines), fully manual (by human operators), and semi-automatic (by collaboration between human operators and automatic machines). Most of the current studies on visual inspection have been focused on the improvement of automatic detection performance by developing a better automatic machine using computer vision technologies. However, there are still a range of situations where human operators should conduct visual inspection with/without automatic machines. In this situation, human operators'performance of visual inspection is significant to the successful quality control. However, visual inspection of components assembled into a mobile camera module belongs to those situations. This study aims to investigate human performance issues in visual inspection of the components, paying more attention to human errors. For this, Abstraction Hierarchy-based work domain modeling method was applied to examine a range of direct or indirect factors related to human errors and their relationships in the visual inspection of the components. Although this study was conducted in the context of manufacturing mobile camera modules, the proposed method would be easily generalized into other industries.

저속 카메라 통신용 자동 디스플레이 검출을 위한 Lambertian 색상 분할 및 Canny Edge Detection 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on Lambertian Color Segmentation and Canny Edge Detection Algorithms for Automatic Display Detection in CamCom)

  • 최근 가시광원을 사용하는 카메라 통신 기술의 발전과 더불어 디스플레이를 통해 가시광 데이터를 표출하고 이를 인식하는 기술에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 기존의 디스플레이 기반 CamCom 기법은 사용자가 설정한 RoI 영역 기반의 2차원 컬러코드를 인식하는 방식을 사용하였으나, 이는 보행 상황 등 수신위치가 변동되는 상황에 적합하지 않은 단점이 존재한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 카메라 통신에서 자동 RoI 설정을 위해 적용될 수 있는 Lambertian 색상 분할과 Canny 엣지 검출이 결합된 알고리즘 기반의 자동 디스플레이 검출 기법에 대하여 제안하였다. 기존 디스플레이 검출 기법은 디스플레이에서 표출되고 있는 콘텐츠의 변화가 발생하면 검출율이 현저히 감소하는 문제점이 존재하며, 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위하여 lambertian 색상 분할 및 canny 엣지 검출을 결합한 알고리즘 적용을 통헤 자동으로 디스플레이를 검출 할 수 있는 기법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 디스플레이 엣지 인식을 위해 사용되는 다양한 알고리즘을 분석하고 변화하는 컬러코드 콘텐츠 인식시 성능을 측정하였으며, 제안한 저속 카메라 통신용 자동 디스플레이 검출을 위한 lambertian 색상 분할 및 Canny Edge Detection 알고리즘을 적용한 실험 결과 약 96%의 검출율을 달성함을 확인하였다.

An Automatic Portscan Detection System with Adaptive Threshold Setting

  • For the purpose of compromising hosts, attackers including infected hosts initially perform a portscan using IP addresses in order to find vulnerable hosts. Considerable research related to portscan detection has been done and many algorithms have been proposed and implemented in the network intrusion detection system (NIDS). In order to distinguish portscanners from remote hosts, most portscan detection algorithms use a fixed threshold that is manually managed by the network manager. Because the threshold is a constant, even though the network environment or the characteristics of traffic can change, many false positives and false negatives are generated by NIDS. This reduces the efficiency of NIDS and imposes a high processing burden on a network management system (NMS). In this paper, in order to address this problem, we propose an automatic portscan detection system using an fast increase slow decrease (FISD) scheme, that will automatically and adaptively set the threshold based on statistical data for traffic during prior time periods. In particular, we focus on reducing false positives rather than false negatives, while the threshold is adaptively set within a range between minimum and maximum values. We also propose a new portscan detection algorithm, rate of increase in the number of failed connection request (RINF), which is much more suitable for our system and shows better performance than other existing algorithms. In terms of the implementation, we compare our scheme with other two simple threshold estimation methods for an adaptive threshold setting scheme. Also, we compare our detection algorithm with other three existing approaches for portscan detection using a real traffic trace. In summary, we show that FISD results in less false positives than other schemes and RINF can fast and accurately detect portscanners. We also show that the proposed system, including our scheme and algorithm, provides good performance in terms of the rate of false positives.

  • 본 논문에서는 사용자의 개입 없이 가정환경에서 사용하는 다양한 가전기기의 대기전력을 검출하고 대기전력을 자동으로 차단하기 위한 전원 관리 시스템을 설계하였다. 시스템의 클라이언트는 클라이언트에 연결된 가전기기가 소비하는 소비전력 정보를 측정하고 무선 네트워크를 통하여 서버에게 실시간으로 전송한다. 이때 서버에서는 가전기기의 소비전력 특성을 분석하여 대기전력 사용 여부 및 대기전력 소비전력 값을 검출하도록 한다. 이렇게 검출한 대기전력 정보는 해당 가전기기 정보의 생성 및 데이터베이스를 구축에 활용되며, 이를 이용하여 사용자의 개입을 통한 설정 없이 대기전력 자동검출 및 차단 기능을 제공한다.

수영자 탐지 소나에서의 해상실험 데이터 분석 기반 자동 표적 추적 알고리즘 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of automatic target tracking algorithms based on analysis of sea trial data in diver detection sonar)

  • 본 논문은 연안 군사시설 및 주요 기반시설에 대한 침투세력을 감시하는 수영자 탐지 소나에서의 자동 표적추적 알고리즘을 다루었다. 이를 위해 수영자 탐지 소나에서의 해상실험 데이터를 분석하였고, 클러터 환경에서 자동표적 추적을 위한 트랙평가수단으로서 트랙존재확률 기반의 알고리즘을 적용하여 시스템을 구성하였다. 특히 트랙초기화, 확정, 제거, 합병 등의 트랙관리 알고리즘과 단일표적추적 IPDAF(Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter), 다중표적추적 LMIPDAF(Linear Multi-target Integrated Probabilistic Data Association Filter) 등의 표적추적 알고리즘을 제시하였으며, 해상실험 데이터 및 몬테카를로 모의실험 데이터를 이용하여 성능을 분석하였다.

Effective Automatic Foreground Motion Detection Using the Statistic Information of Background

  • In this paper, we proposed and implemented the effective automatic foreground motion detection algorithm that detect the foreground motion by analyzing the digital video data that captured by the network camera. We classified the background as moving background, fixed background and normal background based on the standard deviation of background and used it to detect the foreground motion. According to the result of experiment, our algorithm decreased the fault detection of the moving background and increased the accuracy of the foreground motion detection. Also it could extract foreground more exactly by using the statistic information of background in the phase of our foreground extraction.

  • The delay of cardiac depolarization wave detection in the conventional pacemakers or AICD (automatic implantable cardioverter/ defibrillator, or ICD) has been overlooked. However, it is known that the delay may cause hemodynamic problems and may prevent the proper operation of a new automatic feature, automatic capture verification, that is to be appeared in the near-future devices. In order to reduce the effects of the delay, a delay prevention algorithm was developed and tested by applying three human electrograms. The algorithm set the sensing threshold just above the measured noise level to reduce the detection delay. It is found that the low threshold was able to reduce the delay by 20msec(average) In most cases. The implementation results showed reliability and efficacy of the algorithm, and the algorithm could be applicable to the existing hardware and software of the conventional pacemakers and AICD without any significant modifications.

Automatic Detection of the Middle Tooth Crown Part for Full Automatic Tooth Segmentation in Dental CT Images

  • In this paper, we propose the automatic detection method which find the middle part of tooth crown to start individual tooth segmentation. There have been many studies on the automation of individual tooth segmentation, but there are still many problems for full automation. Detection of middle part of tooth crown used as initial information for individual tooth segmentation is closely related to performance, but most studies are based on the assumption that they are already known or they can be represented by using a straight line. In this study, we have found that the jawbone curve is similar to the tooth alignment curve by spatially analyzing the CT image, and propose a method to automatically detect the middle part of tooth crown. The proposed method successfully uses the jawbone curves to successfully create a tooth alignment curve that is difficult to detect. As the middle part of tooth crown is in the form of a tooth alignment curve, the proposed method detects the middle part of tooth crown successfully. It has also been verified by experiments that the proposed method works well on real dental CT images.
