Design and Implementation of an Automatic Design Edit System by Lisp Language

  • Men's clothing has been recently giving higher market shares to the ready-made clothes rather than the custom-tailored clothes. With many active studies on the human body and design, the ready-made clothes win popularity due to their rapid repairing, various design, and cheap prices, though they are not perfect suitable for some people. Therefore the ready-made has a weak point unable to consider all of the individual physical characteristics. However the custom-tailored clothes ate able to make clothing perfectly suitable lot their customers, though they require longer time-taking and expensive costs. In this context, this paper is design and implementation an automatic design edit system to provide a rapid and cheap service for customers on the ground of the custom-tailored clothes. In other words, this paper intended to use computer systems lot rapidly and precisely providing design dependent on the individual physical characteristics including a distorted bodies, types of the leg, and a height of the shoulder. To do so, the paper using not only studies on the human body and the custom-tailored clothes but also technical know-hows planned design for each individual body by LISP language and automatically process the design through CAD system. Consequently, the rapid and precise processing has reduced inventories and production costs, leading to supplying high quality clothes at lower prices.

Automatic design, planning and drawing of scaffolding system for constructions

  • Temporary scaffold systems in the construction site play an important role for ensuring the safety of the workers and for constructing the stable structures. To assemble the scaffold, the pipe scaffolding system, the wedge binding scaffolding system and the particular materials have been utilized. To design the material arrangement of a scaffold, firstly the configuration was determined considering the construction geometry. Then, the strength of the scaffold was confirmed and the quantity of the material was accounted. In this paper, the design method of the temporary scaffold was proposed for intending the semi-automatic procedure. In the proposed design method, the geometric design and the safety requirement were specified by the safety standard and the design flow was followed by the designer's knowledge. The size and the quantities of the materials were calculated by referring to the relation between the scaffold and the constructing structure. In the calculating procedure, three dimensional positions of each scaffold materials were calculated and recorded simultaneously. Then, three dimensional scaffold structural was drawn semi-automatically on the CAD software by using the obtained material sizes, positions and directions. The proposed design method provides us the precise quantities of scaffold materials and enables us to reduce the design effort and the cost estimation processes. In addition, the obtained results can be applied to BIM software after converting to IFC format.

  • Petri net is one of the effective modeling techniques which analyzes and designs concurrent and asynchronous systems. CPN is an extended Petri net which has color tokens. In this paper, we propose a new test case generation method using CPN. It transforms Estelle Specification into CPN, which is applicable to Design/CPN. It also generates UIO and subtour from OG and descriptor, which are resulted from Design/CPN. Using the proposed method, we can get more improved test coverage than existing methods. Therefore, more effective protocol conformance testing could be conducted. The test case generating method will be the basis of the automatic testing environmented.

자동차 패널용 헤밍 금형설계를 위한 타이밍차트 자동생성 (Automatic Generation of Timing Chart for Car Panel Hemming Die Design)

  • The inner and outer car panels for bonnet, door, and trunk lid are assembled by hemming rather than welding. To achieve successful fabrication of these panels, the complicated timing chart of hemming units for pre-and main hemming stages should be made to optimal one. In this study, a design system for automatic timing chart generation is developed. Using AutoCAD VBA and EXCEL data chart, hemming die design parameters and guidelines were put into the program to give hemming unit drawings and consequent timing charts. Then the prepared timing charts were checked and modified. The effectiveness of the system is verified by applying it successfully to hemming unit design for bonnet panel joining.

  • This paper describes study results on the development of an automatic program for generating surface-panel grid for the aircraft optimal design. The aerodynamic analysis is combined into a PIDO tool in conjunction with a number of programs in order to integrate processes for the optimal design. Due to design optimization's iterative feature, it may require lots of time and cost. To relieve this problem, cost-reduction of computation time for aerodynamic analysis is pursued by using the Panel-method, and reduction of grid generation time by automating surface panelling.

  • The automatic forming sequence design system can determine desirable operation sequences even if they have little experience in the design of cold forging process. This system is proposed,which generates forming sequence plans for the multistage cold forging of zxisymmetrical solid products. Since the process of metal forming can be considered as a transformation of geometry, treatment of the geometry of the product is a key in planning processes. Forming sequence for the part can be determined by means of primitive geometries such as cylinder,cone, convex, and concave. By utilizing this geometrical characteristics(diameter,height, and radius),the product geometry is expressed by a list of the pnmitive geometries. Accordingly, the forming sequence design is formulated as the search problem which starts with a billet geometry and finishes with a given product one. Using the developed system, the sequence drawing with all dimensions, which includes the proper sequence of operations for the part, is generated under the environment of AutoCAD. The preliminary choice of some feasible forming sequences can verify by using the finite element simulation.

  • Air damper has a great advantage that is independent of temperature change. This paper presents an analysis approach and an application for designing nonviscous air damper with a piston and a cylinder. The objective functions for optimum design is damping coefficient and is maximized by changing two design variables that are length between piston and cylinder and orifice diameter. A digital computer program was developed which determines optimal air damper configuration for maximum damping coefficients. The results were applied to the automatic washer and are confirmed to be valid for the range of operating conditions.

  • This paper describes a computer-aided die design system of progressive die for making CPT grid. An approach to the development of the automatic design system is based on knowledge-based rules. The developed system is designed by considering several factors, such as grid geometry and punch profile. Grid, a key component of electronic gun, is formed through a sequence of many operations, among which the pilot piercing, beading, notching, bending, swaging and slotting etc. Using the developed system, design parameters are determined and output is generated in graphic forms. Therefore the developed system provides part drawing and the assembly drawing of die set.

  • The biggest challenge facing today manufacturing industry is better quality and high productivity. From an economic point of view, productivity is the most important parameter, as high productivity will reduce the cost. However, the customers of today are not only cost concerned, but also quality conscious. So high accuracy levels should also be achieved in the manufacturing process. This paper reports the development of a automatic design system based on AutoCAD program. This work is composed of three section that are design of top down menu, guide frame and gate lifter for water-gate programed by AutoLISP language and runned Windows system. The developed system ultimately generates the design for a water gate through AutoCAD program. In the design of the water gate, it needs about 23 hours with an expert, but this system can be only 80 seconds without an expert.

  • This paper is about automatic design of measuring master gears. Master gears are usually thought of as gears of extreme accuracy level, but are better defined as gages to check the meshing action of production gears. This is usually not recognized because most mechanical gages are associated with static measurements rather than having the form of machine elements used in a functional check involving machine motion. In this paper the interface that allows beginners to design easily and quickly is provided. The addition and modification of data is easy and the reduced design lead time is feasible with the program even though users don't know much about program since it is developed with Visual Lisp and DCL.
