A Study on the Modeling of Transient Response in Automated Manual Transmission for Hybrid Trucks

  • Modern transmission technologies such as automated manual transmission(AMT) and dual clutch transmission(DCT) are interested to all manufactures due to their fuel efficiency and driver's convenience, especially in a hybrid system. AMT has advantages in that they have a high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT), but it has some disadvantages in that they have torque gap during gear shift and shift time. To reduce disadvantages, it is necessary to evaluate errors and characteristics as a developing simulation model before experimental verification. The purpose of this study is to develop virtual components and simulate the transient response of AMT. A dynamic AMT model and a control logic for an integrated vehicle model have been developed using Matlab/Simulink as a simulation platform. In this paper, the clutch model to describe the stick-slip transition mode and the transmission model to describe the neutral gear shifting is introduced and compared with each other.

  • This paper presents two different models of electrorheological(ER) valves which can be applicable to an automatic cargo handling system at the seaport. Four different ER fluids, which are commercially available, are adopted and their Bingham characteristics are experimentally evaluated with respect to the intensity of electric field. The field-dependent Bingham models are used in the design of two types of ER valves; single-type and divided-type. The governing equations of motion of the ER valves are derived and the principal design parameters are determined based on 200ton platform to be vertically controlled by the ER valves. Both pressure drops due to the applied field and current density required to operate the ER valves are analyzed. In addition, the pressure drops of the cylinder system are evaluated for both ER valves.

Implementation of Educational UAV with Automatic Navigation Flight

  • This paper proposes a UAV equipped with an automatic control system for educational purposes such as navigation flight or autonomous flight. The proposed UAV is capable of automatic navigation flight and it is possible to control more precisely and delicately than existing UAV which is directly controlled. And it has the advantage that it is possible to fly in a place out of sight. In addition, the user may arbitrarily change the route or route information to use it as an educational purpose for achieving the special purpose. It also allows you to check flight status by shooting a video during flight. For this purpose, it is designed to check the image in real time using 5.8GHz video transmitter and receiver. The flight information is recorded separately and used as data to judge the normal flight after the flight. The result of the paper can be flighted along the coordinates specified using GPS information. Since it can receive real-time video, it is expected to be used for various education purposes such as reconnaissance of polluted area, achievement of special purpose, and so on.

  • The observation of transient objects such as supernovae or variable stars requires a survey of the wide sky and quickly extracting the results. In accordance with this purpose, we have been developing an automatic observing software, KAOS (Kyung Hee University Automatic Observing Software) as a series. KAOS30 was the first series of KAOS and it was applied to the 30-inch platform at the McDonald Observatory in the United States of America. KAOS76 controls the 76-cm telescope at Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory. In this poster, we introduce KAOS10 for controlling a portable telescope with a small aperture size attaching a guiding camera as QHY-5L II. Kyung Hee University auto-guiding package which includes the auto-guiding function for small aperture size telescope was also developed. Additionally, the Telescope Control Package(TCP) can communicate with the main server to do astrometry for pointing and identifying targets efficiently. KAOS10 has a universal interface that will be useful for the research of both amateurs and professionals.

  • 개발과정에서의 오류로 인한 취약점을 이용한 공격들이 늘어나면서 이에 대한 보안패치를 체계적인 방법으로 신속하게 자동 분배가 가능한 보안패치 분배 시스템에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 시스템을 설계 및 구현하는 과정에서 많은 문제점이 대두되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점들을 해결하고 분산 시스템 환경 및 안전한 통신을 기반으로 보안패치를 분배할 수 있도록 하기 위해서 Java RMI와 SSL를 함께 사용한 보안패치 분배 시스템 프레임워크를 설계, 제시하고자 한다.

  • 패치 분배는 시스템의 보안과 네트워크를 구성하는 여러 시스템들에 설치된 소프트웨어의 최약성를 보완하기 위한 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다.[4] 최근 다수의 보안패치 분배 시스템이 나타나면서 이들에 대한 선별기준에서 충족시켜야만 하는 필수 조건으로서 이종 컴퓨팅 환경과 다중 플랫폼, 운영체제, 버전의 지원여부가 중요하게 여겨지고 있다.[5,6] 본 논문에서는 이러한 필수조건들을 충족시킬 수 있는 보안패치 분배 시스템을 설계 및 구현하는데 필요한 보안패치 DB 구축 및 검색 방법을 연구, 제시하고자 한다.

  • This study explored the effect of ASR-based pronunciation instruction, using a mobile platform, on EFL learners' pronunciation development. Particularly, this quasi-experimental study focused on whether using mobile ASR, which provides voice-to-text feedback, can enhance the perception and production of target English consonants minimal pairs (V-B, R-L, and G-Z) of Korean EFL learners. Three intact classes of 117 Korean university students were assigned to three groups: a) ASR Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction providing textual feedback by the mobile ASR; b) Conventional Group: conventional face-to-face pronunciation instruction providing individual oral feedback by the instructor; and the c) Hybrid Group: ASR-based pronunciation instruction plus conventional pronunciation instruction. The ANCOVA results showed that the adjusted mean score for pronunciation production post-test on the Hybrid instruction group (M=82.71, SD =3.3) was significantly higher than the Conventional group (M=62.6, SD =4.05) (p<.05).

  • In industries such as automobiles and semiconductors, a lot of components are produced using PLCs based on an automatic production system. Therefore, an educational platform is needed to provide training in the use of PLCs in the industrial sites. Conventional educational systems, in which PLCs are employed to control sensors and actuators, have been continuously developed. However, these systems present their circuits only in 2D on the screen, which makes it difficult to understand them during the learning process. To overcome these disadvantages, we propose an educational V-Factory system capable of providing PLC training using virtual reality. In addition, thousands of sensors and actuators can be controlled by the V-Factory system through the proposed virtual I/O driver. The motion of the automatic production system can be visualized using virtual reality.

  • Because of the ever-increasing software complexity, model-based development techniques are becoming an essential technique in software development. However, even if model-based techniques are used, the test case generation for complex software is still a challenge to solve. In this paper, we propose a method to generate automatic test cases based on UML model using custom parser and SMT solver. By proposed technique, a test case can be generated even though the model is described in a platform independent language such as action language, or in a platform dependent language. In addition, a concolic execution technique is applied to efficiently generate test cases in the model. In this paper, we present a case study on the power window switch model of Hyundai Santa Fe through the proposed test case generation technique.

A Study on the Implementation of an Android-based Educational IoT Smartfarm (안드로이드 기반 교육용 IoT 스마트팜 구현에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the need to introduce smart farms is increasing in order to solve the problems of intensifying competition such as a decrease in rural population due to aging, a decrease in production, and the inflow of foreign agricultural products, and accordingly, the need for education is increasing. This paper is a study on the implementation of an Android-based IoT smart farm for education so that it can be used in a real environment by reducing the farm's smart farm system. To confirm that Android-based education can be applied in a real environment using the IoT smart farm for education, experiments were performed in automatic mode and manual mode using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and server/client communication methods. In the automatic mode, the current status can be checked in real time by receiving all data, and in the manual mode, commands are transmitted in real time using the received sensor data and remote control is performed. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to understand the characteristics of each communication method, and it was confirmed that remote monitoring and remote control of the smart farm using the Android App was possible.
