License Plate Detection (LPD) is a key component in automatic license plate recognition system. Despite the success of License Plate Recognition (LPR) methods in the past decades, the problem is quite a challenge due to the diversity of plate formats and multiform outdoor illumination conditions during image acquisition. This paper aims at automatical detection of car license plates via image processing techniques. In this paper, we proposed a real-time and robust method for license plate detection using Heuristic Energy Map(HEM). In the vehicle image, the region of license plate contains many components or edges. We obtain the edge energy values of an image by using the box filter and search for the license plate region with high energy values. Using this energy value information or Heuristic Energy Map(HEM), we can easily detect the license plate region from vehicle image with a very high possibilities. The proposed method consists two main steps: Region of Interest (ROI) Detection and License Plate Detection. This method has better performance in speed and accuracy than the most of existing methods used for license plate detection. The proposed method can detect a license plate within 130 milliseconds and its detection rate is 99.2% on a 3.10-GHz Intel Core i3-2100(with 4.00 GB of RAM) personal computer.
Objectives : To characterize the thermal properties of several Korean electric moxibustion apparatus and to suggest methods for improving their quality for related industry as well as the welfare of Korean. Methods : We reviewed previous literatures on traditional moxibustion to find necessary factors for electric moxibustion apparatus. We measured the thermal characteristics of electric moxibustion apparatus commercially available by using an automatic temperature acquisition system in a controlled environment. Uniformity and heat loss of the apparatus were also analysed. We followed the user's manuals of apparatus provided by manufacturers. Results : Temperature control of all apparatus could not be achieved by automatic manners. Most of them were dependent on user's discretion. Maximum temperatures obtained were barely in the therapeutic temperature of $40-45^{\circ}C$. Unnecessary heating of moxibustion parts was detected. Chemicals from moxa were not properly delivered to the human skin. Conclusions : Temperature control of all apparatus needs to be improved in terms of temperature setting, retention time and maximum temperature. Design should be altered to utilize pharmacological effects from moxa to obtain its maximum efficacy. User's manuals should be revised for its clarity.

The aim of this research is development and verification of resistivity seismic dilatometer (RSDMT) system. The resistivity module for obtaining resistivity-depth plot and seismic module for obtaining wave velocity-depth plot are attached to the conventional flat dilatometer testing equipment. To enhance reliability and repeatability of seismic part in RSDMT, automatic testing system including automatic surface source, PC based data acquisition system and operating program were developed. To obtain real resistivity value of soil, geometric factor for the array of electrodes in RSDMT was derived empirically. The verification studies for the developed RSDMT system were performed at the southeast side of Korea where soil improvement work is planned. SPT, CPT, geophysical subsurface imaging techniques and some laboratory tests were performed for the comparisons. As one penetration of RSDMT, various soil parameters could be obtained. The results of field test showed good repeatability and reliability in every part. From these studies, developed RSDMT system was checked and the effectiveness of this system was verified in light of proper evaluation of geotechnical characteristics of soft soil.

The Smart Factory level of manufacturing factories of SMEs now lacks a system for grasping the accurate inventory amount associated with inventory movements in managing warehouses at the basic level. Also, it is difficult to manage accurate materials for loss of data due to worker manual work and production method due to experience. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, automatic acquisition of inventory to minimize manual work to grasp workers' Inventory and improve automation is done. In the smart warehouse management system using the IoT-based autonomous mobile module, the autonomous mobile module acquires the data of the inventory storage while moving through the line. In order to grasp the material of the Inventory storage, The Camera module recognizes the name of the inventory storage. And Then, If output matches, the data measured by the sensor is transferred to the server. This data can be processed, saved in a database, and real-time inventory quantity and location can be grasped in a web-based monitoring environment for administrators. The Real-time Automatic Inventory (RAIC) systems is reduce manual tasks and expect the effects of automated inventory management systems.

Automatic transmission of data from the blood analyzer to the request site is one of the most important part in hospital computerization. We have developed a system to automatically transmit the data from the atrial blood gas analyzer. In this system, HOST computer, FILE server, LAN(Local Area Network), 3270 Emulator and Multi-port card were integrated. Also, 3 blood gas analyser(NOVA Inc., USA) were connected to a single multi-port card which is attached in a personal computer for data acquisition. When specimen is collected from sampling sites, it is transfered to the lab. After analysis, the result is transmitted to the personal computer via serial communication between machine and multi-port card using interrupt method. Then, the patient's information (Name, Sex, etc.) is obtained from the HOST computer througth the emulator. The combined data(patient information & lab data) is transmitted to the each request site via LAN automatically. From the collected data, patient's previous data could be reviewed, and it could be used for the various statistics and the flow chart for clinical research. Also, we found that this system reduces the personal labor.

An algorithm to automatically extract coordinate and time information from optical observation data of geostationary orbit satellites (GEO satellites) or geosynchronous orbit satellites (GOS satellites) is developed. The optical wide-field patrol system is capable of automatic observation using a pre-arranged schedule. Therefore, if this type of automatic analysis algorithm is available, daily unmanned monitoring of GEO satellites can be possible. For data acquisition for development, the COMS1 satellite was observed with 1-s exposure time and 1-m interval. The images were grouped and processed in terms of "action", and each action was composed of six or nine successive images. First, a reference image with the best quality in one action was selected. Next, the rest of the images in the action were geometrically transformed to fit in the horizontal coordinate system (expressed in azimuthal angle and elevation) of the reference image. Then, these images were median-combined to retain only the possible non-moving GEO candidates. By reverting the coordinate transformation of the positions of these GEO satellite candidates, the final coordinates could be calculated.

This study introduces an automatic image matching algorithm that can be applied for the scale different image pairs consisting of the satellite pushbroom images and the aerial frame images. The proposed method is based on several image processing techniques such as pre-processing, filtering, edge thinning, interest point extraction, and key-descriptor matching, in order to enhance the matching accuracy and the processing speed. The proposed method utilizes various characteristics, such as the different geometry of image acquisition and the different radiometric characteristics, of the multi-sensor images. In addition, the suggested method uses the sensor model to minimize search area and eliminate false-matching points automatically.

Magnesium alloys have given high attention to the industry of light-weigh as automobile and electronics with aluminium, titanium and composite alloys due to their high strength, low specific density and good damping characteristics. But the magnesium contained structures under high temperature have the problems related to creep deformation and rupture life, which is a reason of developing the new material against creep deformation to use them safely. The purpose of this study is to predict the creep deformation mechanism and rupture time of AZ31 magnesium alloy. For this, creep tests of AZ31 magnesium alloy were done under constant creep load and temperature with the equipment including automatic temperature controller with acquisition computer. The apparent activation energy Qc and the applied stress exponent n, rupture life have been determined during creep of AZ31 Mg alloy over the temperature range of $150^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$. In order to investigate the creep behavior. Constant load creep tests were carried out in the equipment including automatic temperature controller, whose data are sent to computer. At around the temperature of $150^{\circ}C{\sim}300^{\circ}C$ the creep behavior obeyed a simple power-law relating steady state creep rate to applied stress and the activation energy for the creep deformation was nearly equal and a little low, respectively, to that of the self diffusion of Mg alloy.
In this paper, we implement an automatic entity information management system for smart refrigerator using RFID technology in which objects containing electronic tags are automatically identified using radio wave. Unlike current "smart" refrigerators, the system presented in this paper implements smart tag information acquisition mechanism and real-time information management system to provide various information on entities in refrigerators to local and remote users. As the first step, this paper analyzes the requirements for smart refrigerator system based on the RFID and suggests design considerations. Based on the analysis, we propose and implement an efficient tag location tracking method based on antenna transfer method and an intelligent tag information management system based on embedded database and web server. We also provide a wide range of experimental results on the number of tags identified at a time and the tag recognition ratio according to the RFID antenna transfer speed and the angle between tag reader and tags.

Case-Base Reasoning(CBR) solves the new problems by reusing the solutions to previously solved problems. But, there are differences between previously known case and a new problems. To solve this problem Case-Based System have to adapt the solution of the case to suit a new situation. In current CBR systems, case adaptation is usually performed by rule-based method that use rules hand-coded by the system developer. So, CBR system designer faces knowledge acquisition bottleneck akin to those found in traditional expert system design. To solve this problem, in this thesis, we present an automatic learning method of case adaptation knowledge using case base, we use a method of comparing cases in the case base to learn adaptation knowledge. The system is tested in the domain for the decision of travel-price. The result shows accuracy improvement in comparison with case retrieval-only system.
