  • The carbody of the Korean Rubber Tired AGT is small size and light weight comparing to existing electric railcars. For this reasons, car shape and arrangement of major equipments are limited. AGT is newly adopted mass transportation system in Korea. Therfore, it should be desined to appeal to passengers and create new passenger demand.   • Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus ($5,000{\sim}25,000$ persons per hour and per direction). It is a high-tech system which operational capacity, punctuality and mobility are remarkably improved. There are some types of LRT systems such as monorail, tramway, AGT(Automated Guideway Transit), and so on. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. For the efficient management, economical construction, and safe operation of various LRT systems, the establishment of national standard is necessary such as vehicle standardized specification, vehicle performance test standard, vehicle safety standard, construction guide, operation regulation, etc. of LRT systems. This paper presents the standard specification of electrical equipment of linear induction motor type light rail vehicle, that is LIM AGT(AGT system propelled with linear induction motor) vehicle. The LIM AGT system has been applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) system of Canada and Yongin LRT is currently under construction.

  • Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) developed the Driverless Rubber Tired Korea-AGT(Model: K-AGT) from 1999 to 2004. We have finished the safety and performance tests of K-AGT. Data obtained from this testing can be used to evaluate the growth of reliability. The most widely used traditional growth tracking model is included as IEC International standard. With the tracking model all corrective actions are incorporated during test, called test-fix-test. In the test-fix-test strategy problem modes are found during testing and corrective actions for these problems are incorporated during testing. In this paper, we demonstrated reliability analysis using growth model of driverless rubber tired K-AGT system to prove reliability of development system. Therefore, we introduce the well-known NHPP model and analyze a reliability growth using ReliaSoft's RGA software.

유전알고리즘을 이용한 소형궤도차량 선로네트워크 설계 (A Genetic Algorithm for Guideway Network Design of Personal Rapid Transit)

  • 본 논문에서는 연결성, 신뢰성, 교통량 제약조건을 만족하는 최소 비용의 소형궤도차량 선로네트워크를 설계하기 위한 유전알고리즘을 제안한다. 소형궤도차량 시스템은 다수의 자동화된 차량들이 공중에 설치된 선로네트워크를 따라 움직이는 신개념 교통 시스템이다. 주어진 역의 위치와 역간 교통량 수요에 대해 최적의 선로네트워크를 구하는 문제는 소형궤도차량 시스템에 관련된 가장 중요한 문제 가운데 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 선로네트워크를 방향성 링크를 갖는 그래프로 표현하고 그 비용과 연결성, 신뢰성, 교통량을 수식화하였다. 이렇게 주어진 네트워크 성능지표를 바탕으로 선로네트워크 설계 문제에 적절한 연산자들로 구성된 유전알고리즘을 제안한다. 이 연산자들은 안정상태 선택 연산자, 수리 알고리즘, 방향성이 있는 돌연변이 연산자를 포함한다. 제안된 유전알고리즘의 적절한 변수를 결정하고 그 성능을 타 알고리즘과 비교하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 최대 210개의 링크를 갖는 선로네트워크에 대해 수행된 실험결과는 제안된 유전알고리즘이 적절한 시간 내에 만족스러운 해를 구할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • This study is in a part of requirements validation plan for korean rubber-tired AGT system on test track. The AGT system is consisted subsystems as vehicle, signalling, communication, power distribution and infrastructure for rubber tire running on track. The subsystems will be installed and integrated on test track till next year for test and evaluation. This paper shows overview for test and evaluation in terms of system requirements and its validation classification, test track configuration, measuring system requirements and its configuration. The whole process of system integration and its validation will be controlled by means of KMS including documentation.

  • Korean-Automated Guideway Transit (K-AGT) was successfully developed through Light Rail System Development Project. Since then, the domestic development rate of on-board signalling system of light rail has been improved up to 90% by Practical Utilization Project of Light Rail. After utilization project, furthermore, POSCO ICT has developed the wayside signalling system of CBTC, including wireless communication equipment. KRRI carried out the performance test of the wireless communication, interfacing and using the other CBTC equipments of KyungSan Test Line so as to see whether it conforms IEEE 802.11x, international communication standard in view of operational concept of CBTC. In this paper, we presents analysis results of roaming test while train runs.

  • Korea Railroad Research Institute developed the driverless rubber-tired Korean-AGT system from 1999 to 2005 and has done its performance and reliability tests on the test line at Gyeongsan-city. We made the reliability management program to control required the RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability & safety) of the K-AGT system. Therefore, we demonstrated the development and application of Reliability DB program. The main functions of K-AGT Reliability DB program manages failures and maintenance data systematically from the test line through test period and provides various analysis results based on the inputted data.

  • In this paper, we present reliability modeling and analysis method of the Automated Guideway Transit(AGT) vehicle system using analytical models, based on Markov Chains. The Markov model can express state transition of the AGT vehicle sys. that is considered to be in one of four states, such as basic operating (0), minor delay(1), major delay(2) and non-operating(3) state. The proposed Markov model is illustrated with a numerical example and cases to find a steady state availability, MTBF(mean time between failures), and MTTR(mean time to repair) under specified failure and repair rate arc demonstrated.

  • The challenge to be faced in public transportation today is to satisfy human needs with the least delay, with the smallest number of accidents, and with the most economic use of energy, space, materials, man-power and money. One possible solution may lie in city train system, including AGT system. Specially, Passenger space in AGT is important to balance the budget of layout with passenger's satisfaction. This study focuses on lay-out and space, comfort which should be considered from the conceptual design stage of the interior layout work. Traditionally, the interior layout of the passenger room has emphasized ridequality and style. However, as the train becomes more prevalent and versatile, the focus also tends to shift toward layout and space to have comfortable circumstances. After all, the purpose of this research focused on arrangement a rational interior layout of the train through ergonomics research. Finally, the key was ensuring the comfortable environment based on cultural background of the passenger.
