  • For automated vehicles, the integrity and fault tolerance of environment perception sensor have been an important issue. This paper presents radar, vision, lidar(laser radar) fusion-based fault detection algorithm for autonomous vehicles. In this paper, characteristics of each sensor are shown. And the error of states of moving targets estimated by each sensor is analyzed to present the method to detect fault of environment sensors by characteristic of this error. Each estimation of moving targets isperformed by EKF/IMM method. To guarantee the reliability of fault detection algorithm of environment sensor, various driving data in several types of road is analyzed.

  • Detecting grammatical errors from a text is a long-history application. In this paper, we compare the performance of two grammatical error detection techniques, which are implemented as a sub-module of an automated English scoring system. One is to use a full syntactic parser, which has not only grammatical rules but also extra-grammatical rules in order to detect syntactic errors while paring. The other one is to use a finite state machine which can identify an error covering a small range of an input. In order to compare the two approaches, grammatical errors are divided into three parts; the first one is grammatical error that can be handled by both approaches, and the second one is errors that can be handled by only a full parser, and the last one is errors that can be done only in a finite state machine. By doing this, we can figure out the strength and the weakness of each approach. The evaluation results show that a full parsing approach can detect more errors than a finite state machine can, while the accuracy of the former is lower than that of the latter. We can conclude that a full parser is suitable for detecting grammatical errors with a long distance dependency, whereas a finite state machine works well on sentences with multiple grammatical errors.

  • Digital map is very important digital geographic information which is the base for various fields such as building and using the geographic information system (GIS), planing the regional development, and etc. Therefore, it needs high accuracy. Then we offer the advanced technique which minimizes errors on digital maps, using the automated inspection through the whole figures. In addition this new technique raises the economical efficiency as well as accuracy applying the automated error detection method which can recognize, search and classify errors automatically.

  • Cardiac function is evaluated quantitatively using angiographic images via the analysis of the shape change or the heart wall boundaries. To kin with, boundary defection or ESLV(End Systolic Lert Ventricular) and EDLV(End Diastolic Left Ventricular) is essential for the quantitative analysis of cardiac function. The boundary detection methods proposed in the past were almost semi-automatic. Intervention by a knowledgeable human operator was still required Of con, manual tracing of the boundaries is currently used for subsequent analysis and diagnosis. This method would not cut excessive time, labor, and subjectivity associated with manual intervention by a human operator. EDLV images have noncontiguous and ambiguous edge signal on some boundary regions. In this paper, we propose a new method for automated detection of boundaries in noncontiguous and ambiguous EDLV images. The boundary detection scheme which based on a priori knowledge information is divided into two steps. The first step is to detect the candidate edge points of EDLV using ESLV boundaries. The second step is to correct detected boundaries of EDLV using the LV shape. We developed the algorithm of modifying EDLV boundaries defined adaptive modifier. We experimented the method proposed in this paper and compared our proposed method with the manual method in detecting boundaries of EDLV. In the areas within estimated boundaries of EDLV, the percentage of error was about 1.4%. We verified the useflilness and obtained the satisfying results througll the experiments of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we present a method that can detect context-sensitive word errors and generate correction candidates. Spelling error detection is one of the most widespread research topics, however, the approach proposed in this paper is adjusted for an automated English scoring system. A common strategy in context-sensitive word error detection is using a pre-defined confusion set to generate correction candidates. We automatically generate a confusion set in order to consider the characteristics of sentences written by second-language learners. We define a word error that cannot be detected by a conventional grammar checker because of part-of-speech ambiguity, and propose how to detect the error and generate correction candidates for this kind of error. An experiment is performed on the English writings composed by junior-high school students whose mother tongue is Korean. The f1 value of the proposed method is 70.48%, which shows that our method is promising comparing to the current-state-of-the art.

  • In the actual system development site, the various specifications are drawn up into each phase, namely analysis, design, development and implementation, beginning with the analysis of user requirements and data involved. The part of the specifications are continuously drawn up by using automated tool, but all specification are not automatically drawn up. Therefore, many inconsistent items occur between the specifications. In this paper, we propose the method which detects the error which is included in the specifications, and we are going to design and implement a specification error detection system based on this.

  • Bluetooth technology(BT) is a standard for short distance wireless communication and widely used to connect and control various electronic and telecommunication devices without wires, where CSR8670 chip is generally adopted. These BT devices are required to comply with BT specification and the equipments for conformance test are also important. However, the existing BT testing methods have inconvenience in that they are mostly time-consuming procedure due to not only repetitive execution for each evaluation element but also error-prone nature of manual experiments. This paper proposes an automated BT communication test method using CSR8670 chip, which solves the problems related to manual testing methods. The proposed method can reduce the development period of BT products and guarantee the quality improvement owing to the exact system error detection capability.

  • In order to ensure the flow of goods available and more flexible, reduce labor costs, many factories and industrial zones around the world are gradually moving to use automated solutions. One of them is to use Automated guided vehicles (AGV). Currently, there are a line tracing method as an AGV operating method, and a method of estimating the current position of the AGV and matching with a factory map and knowing the moving direction of the AGV. In this paper, we propose ceiling Light and guided line based moving direction estimation algorithm using multi-camera on the AGV in smart factory that can operate stable AGV by compensating the disadvantages of existing AGV operation method. The proposed algorithm is able to estimate its position and direction using a general - purpose camera instead of a sensor. Based on this, it can correct its movement error and estimate its own movement path.

  • A steam generator (SG) tube is an important component of a nuclear power plant (NPP). It works as a pressure boundary between the primary and secondary systems. The integrity of a SG tube can be assessed by an eddy current test every outage. The eddy current technique(adopting a bobbin probe) is currently the main technique used to assess the integrity of the tubing of a steam generator. An eddy current signal analyst for steam generator tubes continuously analyzes data over a given period of time. However, there are possibilities that the analyst conducting the test may get tired and cause mistakes, such as: missing indications or not being able to separate a true defect signal from one that is more complicated. This error could lead to confusion and an improper interpretation of the signal analysis. In order to avoid these possibilities, many countries of opted for automated analyses. Axial ODSCC (outside diameter stress corrosion cracking) defects on the tubes of OPR1000 steam generators have been found on the tube that are in contract with tube support plates. In this study, automated analysis software called CDS (computer data screening) made by Zetec was used. This paper will discuss the results of introducing an automated analysis system for an axial ODSCC on the tubes of an OPR1000 steam generator.

  • The automated ECG diagnostic systems in hospital have a low P-wave detection capacity in case of some diseases like conduction block. The purpose of this study is to improve the P-wave detection ca- pacity using wavelet transform. The first procedure is to remove baseline drift by subtracting the median filtered signal from the original signal. The second procedure is to cancel ECG's QRS-T complex from median filtered signal to get P-wave candidate. Before we subtracted the templete from QRS-T complex, we estimated the best matching between templete and QRS-T complex to minimize the error. Then, wavelet transform was applied to confirm P-wave. In particular, haiti wavelet was used to magnify P-wave that consisted of low frequency components and to reject high frequency noise of QRS-T complex cancelled signal. Finally, p-wave was discriminated and confirmed by threshold value. By using this method, We can got the around 95.1% P-wave detection. It was compared with contextual information.
