Antioxidant and physiological activities of Hijikia fusiforme by extraction methods (추출방법에 따른 톳 추출물의 항산화 및 생리활성 특성)

  • The physiological properties of extracts from Hizikia fusiforme with different extraction methods (hot water extraction, autoclave extraction and high pressure extraction) were investigated. The amounts of substances related to polyphenol and flavonoids contents were the highest in autoclave extract (30.51 mg/g and 4.78 mg/g, respectively). The DPPH radical scavenging activity was the highest in the autoclave extract (81.80%) at the 5 mg/mL. Autoclave extract exhibited the strongest ABTS radical scavenging activity and reducing power among the three extraction methods. However, ferrous ion chelating, TBA reactive substances and xanthine oxidase inhibition activity of high pressure extract were higher than those of the other extracts. Additionally, the tyrosinase and elastase inhibition activities of high pressure extract with a concentration of 1 mg/mL were higher than those of the other extracts. These results suggest that extracts of Hizikia fusiforme have a potential to act as functional materials, and autoclave and high pressure extractions are superior to hot water extraction for enhancement of the biological activity.

  • 항공용 프리프레그의 기체 투과와 creep 변형 현상을 실험과 모델링을 통하여 autoclave 공정의 주요 공정변수인 시간, 온도 그리고 consolidation 압력에 대하여 연구하였 다. 적층된 프리프레그를 이용한 실험을 통하여 진공/autoclave 압력이 프리프레그에 가해졌 을 때 프리프레그의 두께는 선형 점탄성 변형을 나타내며 in-plane 기체 흐름은 투과 hysteresis 와 함께 non-Darcian flow 현상을 나타냄을 보여주었다. 이러한 현상은 bulk dimensional relaxation 그리고 미시적 기공의 구조 재배열이라는 두 가지 점탄성 완화현상 으로 관찰되고 분석되어졌다. Modified Standard Linear Solid (SLS) 점탄성 모델을 사용하 여 실험결과를 분석한 결과 creep relaxation 과 기체투과 속도를 대표하는 모델상수를 결정 할수 있었다.

Change in compressive strength of lightweight geopolymers after immersion (침지 후 경량 지오폴리머의 압축강도 변화)

  • Lightweight geopolymers were fabricated by using IGCC (integrated gasification combined cycle) slag and Si sludge which are classified as general wastes (recyclable resources). Three curing methods were tried to investigate the changes in compressive strength and density according to the curing method and immersion time. Immersion period was tried up to 21 days to observe long-term performance in water. Compressive strength of the specimens cured in oven decreased abruptly with an increase in immersion time. Compressive strength of the specimen cured in autoclave was low after 3 and 7 day immersion; however, increased rapidly after 21 day immersion. On the contrary, compressive strength of the specimen cured in autoclave and oven was high but substantially decreased after 21 day immersion. Conclusively, it was speculated that oven curing is effective for the compressive strength development at early age; however, autoclave curing is more desirable for the long-term performance in water.

  • The Korean Tilting Train eXpress (TTX) with service speed of 180km/h have been developing using hybrid design concept combined with a sandwich composite structure for the carbody and stainless steel structure for the underframe to match the challenging demands with respect to cost efficient lightweight design for railway carriage structures. The sandwich composite structure was used to minimize the weight of the carbody, while the metal underframe was used to modify the design easily and to keep the strength of underframe for the installation of the electrical equipments. The sandwich composite structure was 23 meters long, 3 meters wide and 2.7 meters high, and cured as one body in a large autoclave equipment with the length of 30 meters and the diameter of 5 meters. The joint part between the carbody structure made of sandwich composites and the metal underframe was joined by the proposed design.

  • This paper was carried out to investigate the characteristics of interlaminar fracture toughness of foam core sandwich structures under opening loading mode by using the double cantilever beam (DCB) specimens in Carbon/Epoxy and foam core composites. instead of using symmetric geometry of DCB specimen non-symmetric DCB specimen was used to calculate the interlaminar fracture toughness. Three approaches for calculating the energy release rate({{{{ {G }_{IC } }}}}) were compared. Fracture toughness of foam core sandwich structures by autoclave vacuum bagging and hotpress were compared and analyzed. Experiment nonlinear beam bending FEM method were performed. Suggested bonding surface compensation and equivalent area inertia moment was used to calculate the energy release rate in nonlinear analytical results. The conclusions among experimental nonlinear analytical and FEM results was observed. The vacuum bagging method was shown to be able to substitute method in stead of autoclave without serious loss of Mode I energy release rate({{{{ {G }_{IC }}}}}) to be able to substitute method in stead of autoclave without serious loss of Mode I energy release rate({{{{ {G }_{IC }}}}}).

A Study on the aging characteristics of Suspension insulators (현수애자의 경년변화 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes thermal-mechanical performance and ultimate mechanical-strength test for the purpose of aging analysis of suspension insulator. The temperature of insulator surface according to the aging of suspension insulator was rised about 2[$^{\circ}C$] to 7~8[$^{\circ}C$] difference comparing with the atmospheric temperature. The autoclave expansion of portland cement at the specimen that had much puncture insulator(autoclave measuring value : 0.37[%]) was higher than those of a little puncture insulator (autoclave measuring value : 0.1[ %] ). Quality standard and mechanical-strength of used suspension insulator deteriorate more remarkably than those of new suspension insulator. It is required that thermal-mechanical performance test standard be revised in the future.

Primary Water Stress Corrosion Crack Growth Rate Tests for Base Metal and Weld of Ni-Cr-Fe Alloy (니켈 합금 모재 및 용접재의 일차수응력부식균열 균열성장속도 시험)

  • Alloy 600/182 with excellent mechanical/chemical properties have been utilized for nuclear power plants. Although both alloys are known to have superior corrosion resistance, stress corrosion cracking failure has been an issue in primary water environment of nuclear power plants. Therefore, primary water stress corrosion crack (PWSCC) growth rate tests were conducted to investigate crack growth properties of Alloy 600/182. To investigate PWSCC growth rate, test facilities including water chemistry loop, autoclave, and loading system were constructed. In PWSCC crack growth rate tests, half compact-tension specimens were manufactured. These specimens were then placed inside of the autoclave connected to the loop to provide primary water environment. Tested conditions were set at temperature of $360^{\circ}C$ and pressure of 20MPa. Real time crack growth rates of specimens inside the autoclave were measured by Direct Current potential drop (DCPD) method. To confirm inter-granular (IG) crack as a characteristic of PWSCC, fracture surfaces of tested specimens were observed by SEM. Finally, crack growth rate was derived in a specific stress intensity factor (K) range and similarity with overseas database was identified.

A Study on Durability of High Strength Concrete (고강도(高强度)콘크리트의 내구성(耐久性)에 관한 연구(研究))

  • Using superplasticizer or the methods of autoclave curing is the most typical and practical of the ways to make high strength concrete. In this study the high strength concrete piles by way of centrifugal forming and hand compacting, are put to the freezing and thawing test after the process of autoclave curing, water curing after steam curing, or stand water curing. And the relation of such piles to durability, the rate of strength decrease, and the rate of weight variation is shown. The durability of those test piles throughout freezing and thawing test proves to be comparatively sufficient in the above-mentioned curings when the piles contain a proper quantity of air. But it is also acknowledged that without A.E agent, the high strength concrete piles of autoclave curing is higher than those of the other curing in strength, but lower in modulus of dynamic elasticity and their durability factor after the test is much lower.
