Two degrees of freedom PID auto-tuning controller

  • Recently, two degrees of freedom PID control systems have attracted attention, because of their better process control quality for both set point variable tracking and disturbance resistivity than that of conventional PID control systems. This paper describes a new auto-tuning method for the two degrees of freedom PID control system based on a newly developed model matching method in the frequency domain. This new method has been introduced into a two degrees of freedom PID auto-tuning controller, named AdTune TOSDIC-21D8. The superior features of the controller and the results of field tests Are presented.

  • In this paper, we try to develop the controller which uses the block diagrams of SIMTool and internal functions CEMTool for planning the global driving controller for high efficiency AGV. We acquire the control efficiency by controlling the motor used each part of AGV driving controller. The block diagram structures provided with SIMTool is easily designed by the controller, and the monitoring and analysis of the results is researched by simulation. We expect to control AGV. robot and various plant using Ziegler-Nichols auto-tuning method and external I/O board

  • This paper presents auto-tuning to compensate the integrator windup of the current and the speed PID controller of DC motor, which suppress the overshoot of transient response without delay of rising time. The simulation results using Matlab show the validity of auto-tuning methods.

  • A drum level control is one of the most important control systems in thermal power plant. The control objective of drum level of boiler in thermal power plant is to maintain drum level at constant set-point regardless of disturbance such as main steam flow. The implemented drum level controller is the cascade PI controller. The important factor in drum level controller is the parameters of two PI controllers. The tuning of PI controller parameter is tedious and time-consuming job. In this paper, the relay feedback Ziegler - Nichols tuning method extended to auto-tune cascade PI drum level controller. Finally, the simulation result using boiler model in Power Plant shows the validity of auto-tuned cascade PI controller.

  • Vibration is one of the factors that degrades the performance of equipment and measurement equipment used in high-tech industries such as semiconductors and display. The vibration isolator is classified into passive type and active type. The passive vibration isolator has the weakness of insufficient vibration isolation performance in the low frequency band, so an active vibration control system that can overcome these problems is used recently. In this paper, PID controller is used to control the active vibration isolator. Methods for setting the gain of the PID controller include the Zeigler-Nichols method, the pole placement method. These methods have the disadvantage of requiring a lot of time or knowing the system model accurately. This paper proposes the gain auto tuning method of the active vibration isolator applied with the PSO algorithm, which is an optimization algorithm that is easy to implement and has stable convergence performance with low calculations. It is expected that it will be possible to improve vibration isolation performance and reduce the time required for gain tuning by applying the proposed PSO algorithm to the active vibration isolator.

  • The most important thing in vector control scheme is the knowledge of accurate electrical motor parameters. These parameters can computed by conventional motor test, such as no-load and locked rotor tests. However, the values from these tests are different from actual motor parameters, and the adjustment process of the parameters is time consuming. This paper presents an auto-tuning method for vector control of induction motor. The tuning algorithm is based on the rotor flux behavior of the induction motor for stepwise torque current command. The transient terminal voltage caused by the undesirable variation of the rotor flux is used for tuning the slip gain $K_5$ defined as the inverse of the rotor time constant. The electrical parameters of induction motor can also calculated by this method. The presented method is evaluated through the computer simulations.

  • Controller refinement scheme to improve the performance of a conventional system automatically in frequency domain is proposed. The controller automatic tuning method features using experimental frequency responses of the conventional closed-loop system, the conventional controller, and the improved closed-loop system, instead of poorly modeled plant due to non-linearities and disturbances. The improved closed-loop system characteristics is automatically acquired by the con-ventional closed-loop system characteristics and the proposed performance index in system bandwidth. And the proper controller is realized by least squares approximation in frequency domain. To testify the usefulness of the approach, the path tracking control of robot arm is performed. Experimental results and analytic results are well-matched.

  • In this paper, it is introduced about Auto-Tuning Method which applied to Expert Controller. This method constructs heuristic knowledge of the tuning experiment in order to realize relay tuning theory of Astrom &. Hagglund. This method applies to various Plant and showes utility which is used for Controller design of PID group. Result of simulation showed superiority for speed reponse and robustness of all Plant.

  • Braking system is directly related to the safety of a vehicle and the brake discs are essential part of the braking system. Due to the repeated frictional forces and torque during braking, brake discs are always works at high temperature and high pressure. Furthermore, the brake disc is one of major tuning components in aftermarket, the braking performance of the brake disc should be evaluated for establishing the certification standards of tuning components. This paper proposes the test method to evaluate the performance of tuning brake discs.
