PURPOSE: This study compared the immediate effect of a passive mobilization of upper cervical spine (Kaltenborn's joint mobilization) and an active upper cervical stretching (Olaf's Auto-stretching) on patients with neck pain and ROM. METHODS: Twenty-three subjects were randomized selected in the passive group (Kaltenborn's joint mobilization) included twelve subjects and the active group (Olaf's Auto-stretching) included eleven subjects. VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) was measured before and after neck rotation performance. DUALER IQ PRO (JTECH Medical, U.S.A.) was used to measure the neck ROM. Mean value of double measurement was used before performance and after performance. SPSS version 18 was used to compare values independent t-test and paired t-test were used to compare pain and ROM. RESULTS: There are significant difference in the pain and the ROM in both of two group (p<.05). But there are no significant difference pain and ROM between two groups. CONCLUSION: Both of the passive mobilization of upper cervical spine and the active upper cervical stretching are effected on symptom improvement of patients with neck pain reduction and ROM increasing. Especially active upper cervical stretching is more economical, because it has similar effects with the passive mobilization, help to maintain the treatment effect of therapist by themselves and can help to save medical expenses of patients.
Identification of forming limits of sheet metals is an important task to be done before the sheet metal forming processes. The information of the forming limit is indispensable for design of deformed shapes and related forming processes. This procedure becomes more important than ever as the auto-body becomes complicated and the number of auto-body parts is reduced for lower production cost. To identify the forming limit of sheet metals stretching with a hemispherical punch has gained popularity because of the convenient experimental procedure. The stretching experiment however has localized deformation or the shear band is originated from the non-unifrom deformation in the critical circum-stance instead of the absolute criterion. More accurate information of the forming limit therefore could be obtained by a more appropriate experiment to the real process. In this papaer an experiment program is devised to practivally identify the forming limits of sheet metals for auto-body parts. The experiment program contains not only stretching but deep-drawing Both forming experiments use the same hemispherical punch while they use different specimens. Deep-drawing experiments use speci-mens cut out in circular arc on both sides of circular blank to make it torn during the deep-drawing They also use speciments cut out straight in one side of a circular blank to make it deformed unevenly which causes local deformation during the deep-drawing. The experimental result demonstrates that the forming limit diagrams in the two cases show difference in their effective magnitude. The forming limit curve from deep-drawing is located lower than that from stretching. It is noted from the result that the deep-drawing process causes acceleration of localized deformation in comparison with the stretching process. From the experimental result the maximum value of forming limit could be pre-dicted for safe design.
The isotropic steel sheet was developed and started to apply on the auto-body outer panel, however the characteristics of application on auto-body were not well known. In this paper the FE analysis of outer panel of auto-body was carried out to investigate the characteristics of isotropic steel sheet. For the FE analysis of the roof panel of ULSAB body the isotropic steel sheet and the bake hardening steel sheet were used. The Isotropic steel sheet shows more deformation at punch bottom area of roof panel than the bake hardening steel sheet that is most required forming properties far outer panel to obtain the shape likability of forming parts. It is shown that the isotropic steel sheet has suitable material properties far outer panels of auto-body.

Objective: This study was performed to investigate the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in auto workers of a mission assembly plants. Background: Most studies of musculoskeletal disorders have used car assembly line workers as their participants. However, little research has been done on musculoskeletal disorders afflictions of mission assembly line workers. Method: Through a focus group interview with an ergonomist and a manager at a mission assembly plant site, a questionnaire was developed for musculoskeletal disorders. The questionnaire consisted of five parts, demographic factors, musculoskeletal disorder symptoms, and musculoskeletal disorder experiences; 137 workers participated in this survey. The surveys were analyzed by correlation and Chi-squared analysis. Results: Musculoskeletal disorder symptoms and serious pain were reported in the neck, shoulder, back, and fingers. These problems were statistically related to various demographic factors, such as age, stature, stretching, and work satisfaction. Conclusion: Treatment of musculoskeletal disorders should consider the workers' traits. If there is no specific cause of the pain, developing stretches and exercises before and after work should be applied to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Application: The results of this study can be used to develop guidelines to prevent injury in auto workers at mission assembly plants.

The finite element formulation is developed for predicting strain distributions and weld line movements in the forming processes of laser welded blank. The welded zone(WZ) is modelled with several narrow finite elements whose material characteristics are analytically obtained from those of base metals based on the tensile tests. In order to show the reliability and effectiveness of weld element the forming process of hemispherical dome stretching and auto-body door inner panel stamping are simulated FEM predictions show good agreements with experimental observations.
[ $BiFeO_3$ ]is a multiferroic material that attracts attentions of many research groups due to its potential as being ferroelectric and ferromagnetic above room temperature. We have prepared both undoped- and Mn-doped $BiFeO_3$ by sol-gel auto-ignition method. Doping of Mn has resulted in decreasing grain size from 60 to 32 nm. X-ray diffraction data show that the samples are pure and single-phase. Infrared measurements on $BiFeO_3$ and Mn-doped $BiFeO_3$ revealed intrinsic stretching vibrations of tetrahedral sites of $Fe^{3+}$-O and of octahedral $Bi^{3+}$-O as well. On the other hand, as the Mn concentration increases, the magnetic moment of $BiFeO_3$ increases. It gives some suggestions in manipulating structural and magnetic properties of $BiFeO_3$ by doping Mn.
In the present paper, we report a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of non-rigid zeolite-A framework only as the base case for a consistent study of the role of intraframework interaction on several zeolite-A systems using the same technique in our previous studies of rigid zeolite-A frameworks. Usual bond stretching, bond angle bending, torsional rotational, and non-bonded Lennard-Jones and electrostatic interactions are considered as intraframework interaction potentials. The comparison of experimental and calculated structural parameters confirms the validity of our MD simulation for zeolite-A framework. The radial distribution functions of non-rigid zeolite-A framework atoms characterize the vibrational motion of the framework atoms. Mean square displacements are all periodic with a short period of 0.08 ps and a slow change in the amplitude of the vibration with a long period of 0.53 ps. The displacement auto-correlation (DAC) and neighbor-correlation (DNC) functions describe the up-and-down motion of the framework atoms from the center of α-cage and the back-and-forth motion on each ring window from the center of each window. The DAC and DNC functions of the framework atoms from the center of α-cage at the 8-ring windows have the same period of the up-and-down motion, but those functions from the center of 8-ring window at the 8-ring windows are of different periods of the back-and-forth motion.

Scleroderma is a connective tissue disease of unknown etiology, but known as a kind of auto-immune disease. It is most common in women especially in $30{\sim}50$ years, and very rare in childhood. It can be classified into two main classes : localized scleroderma & systemic sclerosis. Localized type has better prognosis, and usually involves skin only, or in some cases, the muscle below, except inner organs. Systemic type involves skin, oral mucosa and major internal organs. Involving facial skin, we can see small and sharp nose, expressionless stare and narrow oral aperture. Usually they have Raynaud's phenomenon, and in progress, show mouth opening limitation and sclerosis of tongue and gingiva. It is called CREST syndrome showing calcinosis cutis, Raynaud's phenomenon, esophageal dysfunction, sclerodactyly, and telangioectasia. Treatment of scleroderma is systemic and localized steroid therapy, use of collagen-link inhibitor (D-penicillamine), immune depressor and etc. Mouth opening limitation can be improved by mouth stretching exercise. We report a 6 years old boy, diagnosed with localized scleroderma who had mouth opening limitation. We could get additional mouth opening, and have done successful restorative treatment of mandibular and maxillary 1st and 2nd deciduous molar under deep sedation with nitrous oxide and enflurane.

NIRS uses reflectance signals resulting from bending and stretching vibrations in chemical bonds between carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen. These reflectance signals are used to measure the concentration of major chemical composition and other descriptors of homogenized and freeze-dried whole broiler carcasses. Six strains of chicken were analyzed and the NIRS model predictions compared to reference data. The results of this comparison indicate that NIRS is a rapid tool for predicting dry matter (DM), fat, crude protein (CP) and ash content in the broiler carcass. Males and females of six commercial strain crosses of broiler chicken (Gallus domesticus) were used in this study (6$\times$2 factorial design). Each strain was grown to 16 weeks of age, and duplicate serial samples were taken for body composition analysis. Each whole carcass was pressure-cooked, homogenized, and a representative sample was freeze-dried. Body composition determined as follows: DM by oven dried method at 105$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours, fat by Mojonnier diethyl ether extraction, CP by measuring nitrogen content using an auto-analyzer with Kjeldhal digest and ash by combustion in a muffle furnace for 24 hour at 55$0^{\circ}C$. These homogenized and freeze-dried carcass samples were then scanned with a Foss NIR Systems 6500 visible-NIR spectrophotometer (400-2500nm) (Foss NIR Systems, Silver Spring, MD., US) using Infra-Soft-International, ISI, WinISl software (ISI, Port Matilda, US). The NIRS spectra were analyzed using principal component (PC) analysis. This data was corrected for scatter using standard normal “Variate” and “Detrend” technique. The accuracy of the NIRS calibration equations developed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) for predicting major chemical composition and carcass descriptors- such as body mass (BM), bird dry matter and moisture content was tested using cross validation. Discrimination analysis was also used for sex and strain identification. According to Dr John Shenk, the creator of the ISI software, the calibration equations with the correlation coefficient, $R^2$, between reference data and NIRS predicted results of above 0.90 is excellent and between 0.70 to 0.89 is a good quantifying guideline. The excellent calibration equations for DM ($R^2$= 0.99), fat (0.98) and CP (0.92) and a good quantifying guideline equation for ash (0.80) were developed in this study. The results of cross validation statistics for carcass descriptors, body composition using reference methods, inter-correlation between carcass descriptors and NIRS calibration, and the results of discrimination analysis for sex and strain identification will also be presented in the poster. The NIRS predicted daily gain and calculated daily gain from this experiment, and true daily gain (using data from another experiment with closely related broiler chicken from each of the six strains) will also be discussed in the paper.
