현가장치재 스프링강의 부식피로특성에 미치는 쇼트피닝 가공효과 (The Effect of Shot peening for Corrosion Fatigue Characteristics of Spring Steel Using as Suspension Material)

  • The development of new materials that are light-weight, yet high in strength has become vital to the machinery, aircraft and auto industries. However, there are a lot of problems with developing such materials that require expensive tools, and a great deal of time and effort. Therefore, the improvement of fatigue strength and fatigue life are mainly focused on by adopting residual stress. The fatigue crack growth rate of the Shot-peened material was lower than that of the Un-peened material. And in stage I, threshold stress intensity factor of the shot-peen processed material is high in critical parts unlike the Un-peened material. Also, fatigue crack growth exponent and number of cycle of the Shot-peened material was higher than that of the Un-peened material. That is concluded from effect of da/dN. And Fatigue life shows more improvement in the Shot-peened material than in the Un-peened material. And compressive residual stress of surface on the Shot-peen processed operate resistance force of fatigue crack propagation.

  • The development of new materials with light weight and high strength has become vital to the machinery, aircraft and auto industries. However, there are a lot of problems with developing such materials that require expensive tools, and a great deal of time and effort. Therefore, the improvement of fatigue strength and fatigue life are mainly focused on adopting residual stress(in this thesis). The compressive residual stress was imposed on the surface according to each shot velocity(57, 70, 83, 96 m/sec) based on Shot-peening, which is the method of improving fatigue life and strength. By using the methods mentioned above, the following conclusions have been drawn. 1. The fatigue crack growth rate(da/dN) of the Shot-peened material was lower than that of the Un-peened material. And in stage I, ΔKth, the threshold stress intensity factor, of the shot-peen processed material is high in critical parts unlike the Un-peened material. Also m, fatigue crack growth exponent and number of cycle of the Shot-peened material was higher than that of the Un-peened material. That is concluded from effect of da/dN. 2. Fatigue life shows more improvement in the Shot-peened material than in the Un-peened material.   • The plastics are widely utilized in the inside of vehicles. The dynamic tensile characteristics of auto-body plastics are important in a prediction of deformation mode of the plastic component which undergoes the high speed deformation during car crash. This paper is concerned with the dynamic tensile characteristics of the auto-body plastics at intermediate strain rates. Quasi-static tensile tests were carried out at the strain rate ranged from 0.001/sec to 0.01/sec using the static tensile machine(Instron 5583). Dynamic tensile tests were carried out at the strain rate ranged from 0.1/sec to 100/sec using the high speed material testing machine developed. Conventional extensometry method is no longer available for plastics, since the deformation of plastic is accompanied with localized deformation. In this paper, quasi-static and dynamic tensile tests were performed using ASTM IV standard specimens with grids and images from a high speed camera were analyzed for strain measurement. True stress-strain relations and the actual strain rates at each deformation step were obtained by processing load data and deformation images, assuming the plastics to deform uniformly in each grid.

3차원 입체조형치료시 Auto Contouring tool의 유용성 평가 (Evaluation of auto contouring accuracy in 3D planning system)

  • Introduction : It is essential to input patients external contour in 3D treatment plan. We would like to see changes in depth and dose when 3D RTP is operating auto contouring when windows value (Width/Level) differs in this process. Material & Methode : We have analyzed the results with 3D RTP after CT Scanning with round CT Phantom. We have compared and analyzed MU values according to depth changes to Isocenter changing external contour and inputting random Window value. We have watched change values according to dose optimization in 4 directions(LAO, LPO, RAO, RPO), We plan 100 case for exact analyzation. We have results changing window value random to each beam in 100 cans. Result : It showed change between minimum and maximum value in 4 beam is Depth 0.26mm, MU $1.2\%$ in LAO. It showed LPO-Depth 0.13mm, MU $0.9\%$, RAO-Depth 0.2mm MU $0.8\%$, RPO-Depth 0.27mm, MU $1.1\%$ Conclusion : Maximum change in depth 0.27 mm, MU error rate is $0.12\%$ according to Window change. As we can see in these results, it seems Window value change doesn't effect in treatment. However, it seems there needs to select appropriate Window value in precise treatment.

  • The material properties of laser welding zone such as strength coefficient, work-hardening exponent, and plastic anisotropic ratio are analytically obtained from those of base metals based on the tensile tests. . The finite element formulation is developed for predicting strain distributions and weld line movements in the forming processes of laser welded blank. The welding zone(WZ) is modelled with the several, narrow finite elements whose material characteristics are based on the experimental results and the analytical equations. In order to show an application of the developed weld element the stamping process of auto-body door inner panel is simulated. FEM predictions are compared and showed good agreements with experimental observations.

  • This paper deals with the effect of laser material processing on the EMU production technique. Material processing with lasers takes advantage of all the characteristics of laser light. The high energy density and directionality achieved with lasers permits strong localized heat- or photo-treatment of materials with spatial resolution below one micrometer. The pulsed and mono-chromatic light allows the control of depth of heat treatment or selective excitation. The laser beam can be moved to process large areas, is a sterile tool and is no subject to wear and tear. Using laser processing have taken more interests in EMU production for improving the rigidity, weight reduction, crash durability, and cost savings so that their application to auto-bodies has been increased.

  • In late years, from a trend for ecology of auto motive engine, low emission and low fuel consumption of engine become a social assignment. At the same time, the high output (high efficiency) is required, too. In order to meet those requirements, in comparison with conventional engines, lean A/F (Air fuel ratio) setting is becoming popular for the high performance engines of late years. Exhaust valve seat (sintered material) used in these engines has a problem in wear resistance, because it is exposed to the surroundings that is clean and a high temperature in comparison with the conventional engines. Therefore, wear mechanism with lean A/F of engine was analyzed.The exhaust valve seat (sintered material), that was superior in wear resistance, was developed.

  • We have investigated dielectric dispersion and absorption in organic light-emitting diodes using 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum($Alq_3$) as an electron transport and emissive material. We analyzed the dielectric dispersion and absorption of organic light emitting diodes using impedance characteristics measurement by the auto-balancing bridge technique of ITO/$Alq_3$/Al. Impedance characteristics was measured complex impedance Z and phase e in the frequency range of 40Hz to $10^8Hz$. We obtained dielectric constant and loss tangent (tan $\delta$) of the device. From these analyses, we are able to interpret a dielectric dispersion and dielectric absorption contributed by an interfacial and orientational polarization.

철도차량 하부구조의 적정 용접조건에 관한 연구 (Study on Optimal Welding Conditions for Underframe of Railway Vehicles)

  • In this study, MIG welding was performed on extruded 6005A-T6 material, which is used in the base panel of railway vehicles. The material was considered as the experimental base material, and argon shielding gas and ER5356 and ER4043 filler metals were used as the consumable welding materials. Welding coupons were prepared under various welding conditions by using an auto-welding system that various welding conditions applied 2.5Hz and 4.5Hz the pulse frequency of SynchroPuls function of welding machine and 1.0mm and 1.5mm of root face affect the weld penetration of welding joint. The welding current and voltage were also varied for this testing. On the basis of the results obtained, optimum welding conditions are proposed.

  • Sheet Metal Forming by Press Forming Process takes a lot of time and cost from mold design to manufacturing. Therefore, all of die-makers are continuously conducting research to reduce the number of mold processes or the size of blanks to reduce costs. In the case of Forming complex shapes such as automobile component, wrinkles and cracks occur, so draw beads are used. Draw beads play an important role in suppressing the inflow of materials and minimizing the size of blanks. Factors that affect material flow include draw bead, blank holding pressure, lubricant, and surface roughness of punch and die. Most of the factors affect friction. In this study, after classifying circular beads and rectangular beads in cylindrical drawing molds using the AutoForm analysis program, the factors affecting the material inflow were considered.
