  • In the current Internet environment, there may exist a number of independently-operating authentication systems even within a single organization, according to the service types and service providing entities. Current silo-style isolated authentication system model has revealed critical problems in the aspects of usability, cost-effectiveness, extensibility and flexibility, and privacy protection. Recently, several next generation authentication systems have been actively developed by leading industrial and standardization institutions. This paper firstly analyzes the problems of current Internet authentication system environments. And then, the underlying idea, operating procedures, and pros and cons of the newly developed next generation authentication systems are analyzed so as to provide the selection guidelines for the new authentication systems and drive further development directions for future Internet authentication systems.

  • User authentication refers to user identification based on something a user knows, something a user has, something a user is or something the user does; it can also take place based on a combination of two or more of such factors. With the increasingly diverse risks in online environments, user authentication methods are also becoming more diversified. This research analyzes user authentication methods being used in various online environments, such as web portals, electronic transactions, financial services and e-government, to identify the characteristics and issues of such authentication methods in order to present a user authentication level system model suitable for different online services. The results of our method are confirmed through a risk assessment and we verify its safety using the testing method presented in OWASP and NIST SP800-63.

  • Authentication methods on smartphone are demanded to be implicit to users with minimum users' interaction. Existing authentication methods (e.g. PINs, passwords, visual patterns, etc.) are not effectively considering remembrance and privacy issues. Behavioral biometrics such as keystroke dynamics and gait biometrics can be acquired easily and implicitly by using integrated sensors on smartphone. We propose a biometric model involving keystroke dynamics for implicit authentication on smartphone. We first design a feature extraction method for keystroke dynamics. And then, we build a fusion model of keystroke dynamics and gait to improve the authentication performance of single behavioral biometric on smartphone. We operate the fusion at both feature extraction level and matching score level. Experiment using linear Support Vector Machines (SVM) classifier reveals that the best results are achieved with score fusion: a recognition rate approximately 97.86% under identification mode and an error rate approximately 1.11% under authentication mode.

  • AAAv6-based Diameter method is using in the user authentication to satisfy the users' increasing user authentication demand and to supply a safe communication between mobile node and server in the Mobile IP. therefore, In this paper, We design a model of server capacity based on EAP-TLS that in one of AAAv6 models with mobility among domains to get the optimized capacity index of the server for user authentication accomplishment. We elicitat the authentication capacity index for each server of which is accomplishing in user authentication using DSA/RSA algorithm and purpose the optimized condition for the AAAv6 capacity by the index.

  • In this paper, we propose the micropayment model based on NFC, authentication, and privacy technique to support micro-payment in aspect of information technology to reinvigorate the traditional market. The micropayment model supports facilities of payment using smart phone based on NFC, and the encryption and tokenization support the functions of MD authentication, indirection authentication, and privacy of user's payment.

CA will going to gave the delegation ticket to Home-Agent or Foreign-Agent when they request. The authentication mode information security is various characteristic more then high speed, mobile network and low cost more then previous structure of assure information security.

  • The one of the biggest challenges in using e-mail is that it is difficult to filter out unconfirmed senders. Therefore, in this study, an email group authentication API was designed using blockchain technology, which has been widely used as an authentication method. As the proposed model, the node-node weighting index was obtained through the relationship association network, and after designing the email reliability model, the reliability calculation model of the Rotten Tomato method was obtained. Based on this, the system structure was designed, chain code methods were defined, and API was developed. Through this study, it is expected that it will be used in various fields requiring authentication as well as email user authentication, and it is expected that the relationship of group authentication can be proved by allowing a large number of users to use the API in the future.

  • This paper proposes a new authentication model to solve the problem of personal information takeover and personal information theft by service providers using centralized servers for user authentication and management of personal information. The centralization issue is resolved by providing user authentication and information storage space through a decentralize platform, blockchain, and ensuring confidentiality of information through user-specific symmetric key encryption. The proposed model was implemented using the public-blockchain Ethereum and the web-based wallet extension MetaMask, and users access the Ethereum main network through the MetaMask on their browser and store their encrypted personal information in the Smart Contract. In the future, users will provide their personal information to the service provider through their Ethereum Account for the use of the new service, which will provide user authentication and personal information without subscription or a new authentication process. Service providers can reduce the costs of storing personal information and separate authentication methods, and prevent problems caused by personal information leakage.

  • With the rapidity of the development on electronic technology, various mobile devices are produced to make human life more convenient. The user is always in constant search of middle with ease of deployment. Therefore, the development of infrastructure and application with ubiquitous nature gets a growing keen interest. Recently, the number of pervasive network services is expanding into ubiquitous computing environment. To get desired services, user presents personal details about this identity, location and private information. The information transmitted and the services provided in pervasive computing environments (PCEs) are exposed to eavesdropping and various attacks. Therefore, the need to protect this environment from illegal accesses has become extremely urgent. In this paper, we propose an anonymous authentication and access control scheme to secure the interaction between mobile users and services in PCEs. The proposed scheme integrates a biometric authentication in PKI model. The proposed authentication aims to secure access remote in PCE for guaranteeing reliability and availability. Our authentication concept can offer pervasive network service users convenience and security.

  • According to brilliant development of smart devices, many related services are being devised. And, almost every service is designed to provide user-centric services based on personal information. In this situation, to prevent unintentional leakage of personal information is essential. Conventionally, ID and Password system is used for the user authentication. This is a convenient method, but it has a vulnerability that can cause problems due to information leakage. To overcome these problem, many methods related to face recognition is being researched. Through this paper, we investigated the trend of user authentication through biometrics and a representative model for face recognition techniques. One is DeepFace of FaceBook and another is FaceNet of Google. Each model is based on the concept of Deep Learning and Distance Metric Learning, respectively. And also, they are based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model. In the future, further research is needed on the equipment configuration requirements for practical applications and ways to provide actual personalized services.
