  • In this paper, a GNSS error generation simulator for Signal Quality Monitoring (SQM) is implemented by using Matlab based on mathematical models derived from the effect of GNSS signal and measurement errors. The GNSS signal measurement errors of interest in this paper include three cases such as Evil Wave Form (EWF), Multipath (MP) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). In order to verify the validity of the generated measurement errors, a simple form of metrics for detecting and monitoring GNSS errors is included in the simulator. The GNSS errors generated by the simulator are added to the GNSS measurement data from commercial GNSS receiver in real time, and then, the SQM is tested for various scenarios of each case configured by scenario setting of the user.

  • Although capsular contracture represents one of the most important complications after breast augmentation, local inflammation and fibrosis can lead, to capsular calcification, an often-forgotten radiological sign of capsular contracture. In this article, the authors present a clinical case of breast implant calcification in an 81-year-old patient. Although this complication has been rarely described, the literature was reviewed to clarify the role of the local microenvironment in capsular contracture and calcification. At present, capsular contracture patients are classified using the conventional Baker score and the histological Wilflingseder classification. As it was not possible to consider capsular calcification when classifying our patient using the traditional scores, the authors propose an updated version of the current scale.

  • Degradation of image caused by relative motion between the object and the imaging system (like a camera with its platform) is detrimental to precision photogrammetry. Principal modes of relative motion are identified. The discussion is, however, concentrated on the systematic motions, translatory and rotatory. Various analogical approaches of compensating for the image motion are cited. An analytical-computational approach is presented. This one considers the relationship of transformation bet ween the image and the object, known as the collinearity condition. The standard forms of collinearity condition equations are presented. Augmentation of these equations with regard to both translatory and rotatory motions are expounded. With ever increasing use of high speed computers (as well as analytical plotters in the realm of photogrammetry), this approach seems to be more costeffective and seems to yield better precision in the long run than other approaches that concentrate on analogical corrections to the image itself.

  • This paper presents a multi-frequency and multi-constellation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal generator that simulates intermediate frequency level digital signal samples for testing GNSS receivers. GNSS signal generators are ideally suited for testing the performance of GNSS receivers and algorithms under development in the laboratory for specific user locations and environments. The proposed GNSS signal generator features a fully-reconfigurable structure with the ability to adjust signal parameters, which is beneficial to generate desired signal characteristics for multiple scenarios including multi-constellation and frequencies. Successful signal acquisition, tracking, and navigation are demonstrated on a verified Software Defined Radio (SDR) in this study. This work has implications for future studies and advances the research and development of new GNSS signals.

  • Since instrument landing system currently operating in most airports is operating in single-pass, it is not possible to accommodate a large number of aircraft. A satellite navigation system GBAS using a GNSS has been developed to solve these limitation when air traffic increases. GBAS is better than the ILS in position accuracy and capable of landing through multiple paths rather than a single path, the aircraft can perform varied landing procedures. In this paper, after we established a virtual ILS procedures at Taean Airfield in which ILS installation is impossible due to environmental requirements and airspace restrictions, flight test was performed by Cessna Skyhawk 172 to compare the virtual ILS procedures and curved approach procedure and the advantage of curved approach was confirmed.

  • Global Navigation Satellite Systems are expected to meet system-defined integrity requirements when users utilize the system for safety critical applications. While the guaranteed integrity performance of GPS and Galileo is publicly available, their integrity assurance procedure and related methodology have not been released to the public in an official document format. This paper summarizes the integrity assurance procedures of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Galileo, which were utilized during their system development, through a literature survey of their integrity assurance methodology. GPS Block II assures system integrity using the following methods: continuous performance monitoring and maintenance on Space Segment (SS) and Control Segment (CS), through a cause and effect analysis of anomalies and a failure analysis. In GPS Block III, to achieve more stringent integrity performance, safety requirements are integrated into the system design and development from its starting phase to the final phase. Galileo's integrity performance is provided in the Integrity Support Message (ISM) format, as Galileo utilizes a Dual Frequency Multi Constellation (DFMC) Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) and Advanced Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (ARAIM) to serve safety critical applications. The integrity performance of Galileo is ensured by using a methodology similar to GPS Block II (i.e. continuous performance monitoring and maintenance on the system). The integrity assurance procedures reviewed in this paper can be utilized for a new satellite navigation system that will be developed in the near future.

  • This paper proposes database generation and management system for small-pixelized airborne target recognition. The proposed system has five main features: 1) image extraction from in-flight test video frames, 2) automatic image archiving, 3) image data labeling and Meta data annotation, 4) virtual image data generation based on color channel convert conversion and seamless cloning and 5) HOG/LBP-based tiny-pixelized target augmented image data. The proposed framework is Python-based PyQt5 and has an interface that includes OpenCV. Using video files collected from flight tests, an image dataset for airborne target recognition on generates by using the proposed system and system input.
