The purpose of this study was to examine the workers' attitudes toward textile industry. Also the attitude was investigated how to be correlated to job stress symptoms and job performance. The data were obtained from questionnaire completed by 529 workers employed in textile or clothing companies. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which included t-test, ANOVA, mean, correlation, and factor analysis. The results showed that workers' attitudes toward textile industry were neither positive nor negative. The attitudes revealed to be divided into two components-cognition, affect/behavioral intention. Cognitive attitude was observed to be more positive than affective/behavioral intention attitude. The attitude differed according to personal characteristics such as sex, educational status, position, period of one's service, types of industry and job specifications. The attitude were correlated with job stress symptoms and job performance. The more positive the workers' attitudes were, the lesser job stress symptoms and the higher job performance were. As the two components of the attitudes are in the same way, the attitude toward textile industry exhibited to have higher correlation with job stress symptoms and job performance.
In this study, the effect of Internet clothing soho mall attributes on attitude toward site and revisit intention was investigated. A total of 292 female college students participated in the experiment to explore a clothing soho mall out of 20 highly-ranked soho malls for shopping and to complete a questionnaire. In exploratory factor analysis results, five factors were generated out of 18 question items indicating clothing soho mall attributes. Among those five factors, 'product assortment and presentation' was the most important factor affecting attitude toward site and revisit intention toward a clothing soho mall. In addition, 'site construct' was another factor affecting attitude toward a clothing soho mall site specifically in the group who shops clothing more often on the Internet shops than off-line shops. Based on study results, implications and insights were discussed.
This study classifies vanity into groups, analyzes age differences and categorizes price attitudes toward apparel products. Questionnaires were administered to 461 college students living in Daegu City and Kyungbok province. Data were collected using frequency, factor analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and t-test. The findings were as follows. College student vanity was classified into three groups of appearance/ achievement pride, low vanity, and appearance/achievement concern. Vanity showed a significant correlation with sub-variables of age difference and price attitude towards apparel products. Appearance pride and achievement concern (sub-variables of vanity) had a significant effect on the conspicuous of price attitude toward apparel products. Appearance pride and Appearance concern (sub-variables of vanity) had a significant effect on information of price attitude toward apparel products. Gender of college students showed a distinction insub-variables of vanity factors such as appearance concern and price attitude toward apparel products such as information, quality, and using coupons. Male students were distinct in look and health as well as age differences by group; female students were distinct in age perception differences (a sub-variable of age difference). Due to the recent trend of relationship marketing and characteristics of the apparel retail industry that relys heavily on employees' performance, internal marketing toward the employees gives a critical influence on firms' overall performance. This study is aiming at the factors of internal marketing and relationship management that enhance positive attitude toward change. A survey questionnaire was developed and about two hundreds department store sales staffs working for apparel brands participated in the empirical study. Factor analysis ensured the existence of five aspects of internal marketing: educational training, internal communication, power endorsement, management capability and incentive system. Results indicated that age, marital status, years of employment, position rank, and salary types of salespersons had significant influence on internal marketing factors. Incentive system had significant influence on internal customer relationship management. Internal customer relationship management had significant impact on employees' attitude toward change. Educational training had significant influence on employees' perceived importance of change. Educational training, power endorsement and incentive system affected employees' perceived outcome of change.
This study examined differences in body mass index (BMI), self-esteem, sociocultural attitude toward appearance, and diet awareness between genders as well as the effect of BMI, self-esteem, and sociocultural attitude toward appearance on diet awareness. This study surveyed adults between the ages of 20 and 29 who lived in Daegu and Uijeongbu from November $17^{th}$ to December $14^{th}$ 2014. Data collected from 258 respondents were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, regression analysis, and ${\chi}^2$ test. The study results showed that the respondents could be divided into three groups (underweight group, standard weight group, and overweight group) by BMI and a large percentage of respondents were in the standard weight group. The percentage of standard weight females was higher than standard weight males. There were significant differences in BMI, sociocultural attitude toward appearance (such as self-awareness), and diet awareness between genders; however, there was no difference in self-esteem. Men also had a higher BMI than women; however, women were more self-aware of sociocultural standards for appearance, desired a slim body and wanted educational information on diet. BMI and sociocultural attitude toward appearance had positive effects on diet awareness. Self-awareness was a strong predictor of diet awareness and self-esteem had no significant effect on diet awareness.
This study examined the influence of consumer self-confidence and self-confidence in fashion coordination on the attitude toward secondhand fashion goods and the purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. Questionnaire data from 346 university students were analyzed and the results were summarized as follows. First, there were five factor solutions in consumer self-confidence: information acquisition, personal outcomes decision making, social outcomes decision making, consideration-set information, persuasion knowledge. Second, information acquisition, social outcomes decision making, and consideration-set information had significant effects on self-confidence in fashion coordination, while personal outcomes decision making and persuasion knowledge had no effect on self-confidence in fashion coordination. Third, self-confidence in fashion coordination had a significant effect on attitude toward secondhand fashion goods however, it had no effect on purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. Fourth, attitude toward secondhand fashion goods had a significant effect on the purchase intention of secondhand fashion goods. The results show diverse implications for marketers and managers of secondhand fashion goods.
The purpose of this study was to classify the clusters based on two behavioral intentions toward purchasing originals and counterfeits of foreign fashion luxury brands and to examine the differences in personality characteristics and demographics. This study included attitude toward counterfeit, consumer ethnocentrism, materialism, and need for uniqueness as personality characteristics and gender, monthly household income, and pocket money as demographics. Data were gathered by surveying university students living in Seoul metropolitan area using convenient sampling, and 320questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. In analyzing data, cluster analysis, x-test, and One-way ANOVA were conducted. As a result of the cluster analysis based on two behavioral intentions toward purchasing originals and counterfeits, four groups were identified. There were significant differences in attitude toward counterfeit and materialism according to the purchasing intention clusters. x-tests also showed there were significant differences between the number of male and female subjects in each of the four clusters. Females are significantly more represented than females in all four clusters.
The purpose of this study was to examine the evaluations and attitudes of workers in low temperature storages of discount stores toward their uniforms by carrying out a field study and a survey. The effects of evaluation attributes on their attitudes were also investigated. In this study, the reference of the evaluation of uniforms was based on the concepts of serviceability, which implies the fitness for purpose of products and consists of durability, care, comfort and aesthetic appearance. Of 400 questionnaires, 253 of them were used for data analysis. The data were analyzed by descriptives, t-test, factor analysis, reliability test and regression analysis with SPSS 12.0. As a result, it showed that workers have set low values on easy care, physiological comfort, aesthetic appearance and durability among the evaluation attributes. In attitudes toward the uniforms, emotional attitude was negative whereas behavioral attitude positive. It appeared that the evaluation attributes had influence on the attitude toward the uniforms and esthetic appearance among the attributes had the biggest effects on the workers' attitude. In conclusion, it was found that the discount store uniforms should be improved in the aspects of easy care and physiological comfort, and focused on the esthetic appearance for workers' positive attitudes to their uniforms.
In this study, causal relationships of belief-attitude-purchase intention for unfamiliar-branded cosmetics (UBC) were tested based on the theory of reasoned action. Data of 249 consumers who have purchased UBC were submitted to the descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and regression analysis with SPSS. In results of exploratory analysis, three factors of beliefs on UBC were generated and titled as ingredients, publicity, and subsidiary features. In regression analysis results, ingredient factor affected attitude toward UBC while publicity and subsidiary features did not influence attitude toward UBC. It implies that consumers build their attitude toward brands focusing on ingredients that are core elements of cosmetic products. Attitude toward UBC solely influenced purchase intention while the effect of social acceptance on purchase intention was not found. In conclusion, consumers depend much on ingredients when they purchase UBC so brands newly launched or brands without reputations need to focus more on an excellence in ingredients and special functions of UBC to appeal to consumers when penetrating to the new market.
The main objectives of this study were to (1) examine and compare the importance of store attributes, store commitment, store attitude, and revisit intention concerning Korean mass cosmetic brand stores between female teenage consumers and those in 20's, and (2) investigate and compare the two groups in terms of the influences of five store commitment factors on store attitude and revisit intention. On-line surveys were conducted by the marketing research company, and a total of 354 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. The results showed several significant differences between the female consumer groups in 10's and 20's. The teenage respondents placed greater importance on all store attributes except price and sales, and showed higher commitment in terms of affective commitment, and normative commitment factors than the respondents in 20's. For the teenage respondents, all four commitment factors except the normative commitment significantly influenced their store attitude and revisit intention, while the affective commitment factor did not have significant influence on either store attitude and revisit intention for the group in 20's. Normative commitment factor also did not have significant influence on revisit intention of the group in 20's. For both age groups, the negative affects of the forced commitment on store attitude and revisit intention were found.
