In fashion, there are various cultural aspects that exist in complexity, where according to the era, even fashion items newly develop and prevail into various designs in the organic function with reality of related cultural phenomenon and aesthetic aim. Among the fashion items, the shoe is historically considered as the shield from lust and also the provision of praise against the most emotional incitement. Mankind has started wearing shoes out of the functional purpose of protection since the ancient Egyptian times. Thereafter humankind has been creating shoes artistically in respect to shape, color, and quality of material, etc, as an expression of aesthetical awareness and introspective desire for beauty. As modern fashion increasingly regards the total fashion image much more important than each items consisting the whole outfit, the role of shoe became essential more than ever. Contrary to its relative importance, little academic attention was given to this area yet, while prestigious museums and galleries in Europe and the USA have held exhibitions of shoes in view of both historical and artistic aspects. This study aims to make a historical inquiry of western shoes. through which their aesthetic values can be drawn. Literature on this subject including aesthetics, history of costume and arts were referred. Fashion magazines and catalogues were investigated for additional information. The process and results of this study are meant to be a suggestion not only to further studies but also to artistic and creative shoe design. Originated for the functional purpose, shoes have evolved in various shapes with different meanings attached to it. When the technological development made the satisfaction for functional needs possible, the intrinsic attribute, the aesthetic value was pursued. The historical contemplations of shoes from Egyptian times to the 1990's led to the results that the intrinsic aesthetic value of shoes can be summarized as follows: 1) protection and extension of body, 2) need for decoration, 3) erotic expression, 4) symbol of dignity and class, 5) fashion.

Today, people are obsessed with fashion, makeup, hair care, weight control, and plastic surgery. In order to be satisfied with their appearance and attract attention, they invest so much time and money. The core values of many people are influenced heavily by materialism and appearance. Belly dancing is effective not only in just weight loss, but it also improves the health and corrects body postures like pelvis correction, and it also gives the dancers the pleasure of dancing to exotic music. A growing number of women in their 40s or older and senior citizens have become maniacs of belly dancing. The studies suggest that the participation in belly dancing helps increase life satisfaction and self-respect of the middle aged who often suffer from depression. Belly dancing has a strong effect in the life style of the middle-aged women. The costume and accessories necessary for belly dancing class help the participants) focus on the dance. These costumes and accessories reflect the desire of the wearer to be recognized in society. It is well shown in belly dancing that "fashion and beauty related services and products are used as an indicator to tell social status and position of the wearer as external elements like clothes, accessories, and physical appearance and have a highly important effect on interactions among people in society as a means of expressing oneself". In this respect, this study aims to examine middle-aged women's involvement in fashion and beauty depending on their participation in belly dancing.

In the era of 2.0 web, blog has become the media that men can express themselves with fashion more actively and independently, as paying much attention to their personal appearance and cultivating an upscale lifestyle. They often create their fashion images in the virtual space where enables a free and creative operations of self-expression. The study aims to identify the types of men's ego-images represented on the personal fashion blogs based on the framework of analysis from the previous research (Suh, 2014), to build the base data for analyzing men's fashion style in $21^{st}$21st century that reflects changes in men's sexual images, and to verify the framework as comparing with the previous case study about the women blogs (Suh, 2014). The case studies conducted 5 men's personal blogs such as bryanboy, iamgala, little fashionisto, katelovesme, and stylentonic. The study results almost same types of women's ego-images as following. The imaginary ego-image is classified as narcissism, regression, identification, and virtuality, the social ego-image as symbolism of roles and others'desire, the real ego as primary instinct, practical reality, object a, jouissance and sexual perversion. The personal style of men shown on the fashion blogs appears as a significant factor to analyze male customers in the growing men's beauty and fashion market.

UCC(User Created Content) is attracted public attention in the era of web2.0 that users create, distribute and consume various kinds of media content through a web platform standing on participation, collaboration and openness. As most discussion about UCC is centered on making benefit using it, it is understood as 'the information commodity' which is appropriated to new media environment. But UCC have to be understood not only as the information commodity but as 'the state of media'. UCC can be classified into two types based on desire for transparency and opaqueness from the media's genealogical point of view which is the logic of 'remediation' that J.Bolter and R.Grusin suggested. In the convergence era that a lot of new media appear, for example IPTV and DMB, this study devise a method of the utilization of UCC from diverse aspects of remediation in the paradigm of convergence.

The culture phenomenon, which the desire of self expression is noticeable and the diversity of gender identity is widely accepted, simply makes a difference in the lifestyle of one human being rather than the dichotomous classification of male and female. Now, the delicate and aesthetic sensitivity classified as the feminine characteristics is no longer the exclusive property of female and this refers to substituting it as a social gender from the concept of biological sex. This phenomenon has influenced on the male culture and is creating various codes according to the cultural gender extended from the gender as a social role. Also, the transition into the western lifestyle has extended the aesthetic emotion to accommodate new codes from the diversification and globalization of lifestyle. The mansumer power, which does not care too much about the money for the emotionally attached items, has enabled various fashion styles. After analyzing the diversified clothing behavior conducted by these people in connection with the social phenomenon, First, this shows the phenomenon of emotional value pursuit that finds pleasure over the clothing as the item of augmented reality is added to the concept of play, in which the real space referred to as garment and virtual space of playing the rock, paper and scissors game meet together within the augmented reality. Second, the convergence concept has enabled the coordination of new style by obscuring the area of design concept and this refers to the changes in design from the development of new items and transformation into double-style details. Third, the divergence that intensively provides specific use/convenience and specialized value shows a change in the fashion market from the phenomenon that admits various gene rations of culture and specifically, takes differently about the recognition of middle-aged males. Fourth, the variety seeking tendency receives attention as the value of future design together with the phenomenon of discriminative value pursuit. In the male fashion, it is linked to the collaboration with the design area and this tells that the fashion with the narcissistic cross-dressing and motto of neutral gender without being sided to male/female is rising.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of fiber contents of socks fabric on the subjective sensitivity and emotional sensibility of consumers. We investigated the relationship of subjective sensitivity and sensibility according to fiber contents and color value of socks. We made five plain knit fabrics as specimens, with a combination of chitosan/SUS fiber contents and three value levels of grayish color. The subjects were 15 males and 54 females in the twenties. The data analysis was conducted with Pearson's correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan multiple range test, and regression analysis. The major finds were as follows: A factor analysis showed that subjective sensitivity was classified into five factors (bulky, surface-rough, elastic, attention, and variety) and emotional sensibility was into four factors (salience, stability, luxury, and activity). There were significant correlation between the subjective sensitivity and emotional sensibility. The subjective sensitivities of 'surface-rough' and 'elastic' were significantly influenced by fiber contents. The sensibilities of 'salience' and 'luxury' were significantly influenced by fiber contents. Where as the 'salience' and 'roughness' were significant influenced by color value level. According to sex, there were significantly difference in 'bulky', 'elastic' and 'salience'. As a result of the regression analysis, preference, consuming desire and satisfaction appears to be closely related with all subjective sensitivity and sensibility.

The mechanical properties of timber construction have drawn more attention after the 2013 Lushan earthquake. A strong desire to preserve this ancient architectural styles has sprung up in recent years, especially for residential buildings of the mountainous areas. In the column-and-tie timber construction, continuous-tenon joints are the most common structural form to connect the chuanfang (similar to the beam in conventional structures) and the column. To study the cyclic performance of the continuous-tenon joints in column-and-tie timber construction, the reversed lateral cyclic loading tests were carried out on three 3/4 scale specimens with different section heights of the chuanfang. The mechanical behavior was assessed by studying the ultimate bending capacity, deformation ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Test results showed that the slippage of chuanfang occurred when the specimens entered the plastic stage, and the slippage degree increased with the increase of the section height of chuanfang. An obvious plastic deformation of the chuanfang occurred due to the mutual squeezing between the column and chuanfang. A significant pinching was observed on the bending moment-rotation curves, and it was more pronounced as the section height of chuanfang increased. The further numerical investigations showed that the flexural capacity and initial stiffness of the continuous-tenon joints increased with the increase of friction coefficient between the chuanfang and the column, and a more obvious increasing of bending moment occurred after the material yielding. The compressive strength perpendicular to grain of the material played a more significant role in the ultimate bending capacity of continuous-tenon joints than the compressive strength parallel to grain.

This study proposes the use of firework shapes to design fashion accessories in the judgment that they are appropriate for the expression of creative images in consideration of the display of fireworks as a kind of entertainment and a festive symbol. This study promotes the sustainable application of firework shapes to develop the designs of fashion culture items that feature a distinctive personality and uniqueness. In this present study, the proposed fashion accessory design was intended to create an entertaining new atmosphere that uses an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) that draws attention as a futuristic display. In terms of methodology, a literature review of firework shapes and OLED was conducted; in addition, Adobe Illustrator CS2 and Adobe Photoshop CS2 were used to develop six different standard motive designs with formative design elements represented by a variety of firework shapes. Each of the six motifs was further expanded with different color combinations. Rich images are produced with the use of pink, blue, purple, green, yellow, orange, and red, in conjunction with various OLED effects to express the three-dimensional images of fireworks. The motifs are applied to three types of items: bags, bracelets, and necklaces. For the video images, evening and tote bags, pendants, and bangles were used. Shifting images and lights should produce unique images as well as satisfy the consumer desire for entertainment. The Adobe Image Ready software was used to present the motive of fireworks applied to the design of fashion accessories in video images but not in still-cut images due to physical constraints of this paper.

As the human demand or desire on brand new systems otherwise equipped with new functions grows drastically, so does the complexity of the systems. With this trend, the systems are becoming bigger in scale and at the same time the safety requirements are more stringent in the development. Typical systems examples in such a situation may include high-speed railway systems, aero and space systems, marine systems, etc. Failure of those systems can cause serious damages on both the human being and wealth with social infrastructure. As such, it is quite necessary to ensure that the safety requirements be satisfied in the system development. To achieve this need, there could be a lot of solutions to take. In this paper, regarding safety, a special attention is given to the verification phase process, which is one of the intermediate phases of whole systems development process. More specifically, the ultimate concern is placed on how to carry out the design verification while ensuring the safety requirements. To do so, some improvements in the verification phase were proposed first. Then, the outcomes were combined with the systems safety process by generating an integrated process model to reach the goal. As a case study, application to a railway system was discussed, where strict safety requirements are usually necessary. It would be expected that the potential likelihood of failure with rail systems could be reduced if the results obtained are used effectively with some enhancement from further study.

This thesis is a study about how leadership communicates and interacts with the public and affects structure of emotions. Leadership has been paid attention by various strata, and interest about leader is gradually getting higher throughout overall society. In this situation, drama that is a medium that approaches to the general public friendly and easily and affects emotionally the public suggests problems about overall contemporary society and culture and plays a role to solve the desire. Therefore, if we analyze leadership that appears on drama, we may grasp directional nature and meaning aboutwhich figure of the leader it shows. As a research method, we use Spear's servant leadership factors, who categorized factors necessary for leaders. A soap opera named Ukssinamjeonggi that pursues a common goal to solve affairs and problems in relationships among members in an organization is selected as the analytic subject. As a result of the analysis, listening, empathy, healing, awareness, and conceptualization which are factors of servant leadership turn out to be the factors that help subordinates demonstrate their potentials; conceptualization, persuasion, awareness, and foresight are usually shown by supervisors. Servant leadership was the most effective when a leader communicates with members through middle managers to grow the community.
