소화 시스템에서 다중노즐의 분무특성에 관한 연구 (The Study of a Atomizing Characteristics of a Multi-Nozzle in a Fire Extinguishing System)

  • This paper is about a study of atomizing characteristics of a Multi-Nozzle, which is an important part in a flooding water mist system for extinguishing fires broke out in ships. Comparing the results of experiments for the Single-Nozzle to that of numerical analyses, characteristics of a Multi-Nozzle can be found out. In situation of a Single-Nozzle’s, the atomizing angle was $34^{\circ}$. And in situation of Multi-Nozzle that combined with 5 single-nozzles, the atomizing angle increase to $125^{\circ}$. The effective area is 3.7 times of the former. The quality factor will reduce, if the diameter of the atomizing region of the nozzle reduces. Although the atomizing angle is reduced because of the atomizing property, the value of SMD still shows a good result.

높은 도착효율을 가지는 회전형 정전 도장기기의 개발 (Development of the Rotary Electrostatic Painting Equipment with High Transfer Efficiency)

  • A new electrostatic rotary atomizing painting equipment using air turbine was developed for high transfer efficiency. Based on the overall design requirements of painting equipment, basic design specifications of the equipment parts such as air turbine and atomizing disk ate defined from the present conceptual design model. Air turbine is designed with the section profile of NACA airfoil, and its internal flow field is analyzed by commercial CFD code. Atomizing disk is designed to achieve the ligament type spray of paint with the use of visualization technique. Various experiments and tests are conducted to investigate the spray and the transfer characteristics of newly-designed painting equipment, and the measurement results are compared with the those of conventional painting equipments. The comparison results show the present painting equipment is superior to the conventional ones in the aspects of transfer efficiency and coating surface characteristics.

  • 철강산업에서 발생되는 제강 환원슬래그(Ladle furnace slag, LFS)를 사용하여 아토마이징 공법을 통하여 구형의 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그를 제조하였다. 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그의 대량 재활용 기술을 개발하기 위하여 구형의 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그를 입도에 따라 잔골재(강모래)와 굵은 골재(쇄석)를 대체 사용하여 폴리머 콘크리트 복합재료를 제조하였다. 폴리머 콘크리트 복합재료의 특성을 조사하기 위하여 폴리머 결합재의 첨가율과 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그의 대체율에 따라 다양한 배합의 폴리머 콘크리트 공시체를 제조하였다. 시험결과, 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그의 대체율 증가에 따라 공시체의 압축강도는 감소되었으나 휨강도는 50%의 대체율에서 최대 강도를 나타내었다. 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그를 사용함으로서 작업성이 향상되어 폴리머 콘크리트 복합재료의 생산원가에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 폴리머 결합재의 사용량을 최대 18.2 vol% 절감할 수 있었다. 그러나 내열수성시험에서 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그를 사용한 공시체의 기계적 강도가 현저히 감소되기 때문에 더 많은 연구가 요구된다.

  • The factors to act on atomization of liquid fuel are viscosity, geometric shape of nozzle, atomizing pressure, etc. Most of high viscous liquid fuels show decrease in viscosity by raising the preheat temperature, but the viscosity of liquid fuel like CWM does not readily change with fuel temperature. As an experimental study to investigate the atomizing characteristics of CWM, CWM fuel is atomizing with a twin-fluid atomizer, and the effects of the geometric shape of spray nozzle on atomization are investigated by measuring the Sauter`s Mean Diameter (SMD) of CWM. The summarized results obtained in this study are as follows ; (1) As the ratio of the mass flows of atomizing air to that of fuel (W$_{a}$ /W$_{1}$) increases, 능 decreases when fuel temperature is constant. (2) At the ratio (t/d) 4 of thickness (t) of spray nozzle hole to the diameter (d) of the hole, there is the best atomization. And SMD decreases when t/d is between 1 to 4 and increases when t/d > 4.

  • To improve the mixing and atomizing performance at the center region of the conventional coaxial shear injector spray, the concept of a coaxial porous injector was invented. This novel injection concept for liquid rocket engines utilizes the Taylor-Culick flow in the cylindrical porous tube. The 2-dimensional injector, which can be converted in three injection configurations, was fabricated, and several cold flow tests using water-air simulant propellant was performed. The hydraulic characteristics and the effects of a gas flow condition on the spray pattern and the Sauter mean diameter (SMD) was analyzed for each configuration. The atomizing mechanism of coaxial porous injector was different with the coaxial shear injector, and it was explained by the momentum of the gas jet, which is injected normally against the center liquid column, and by the secondary disintegration at the wavy interface of liquid jet, which was generated at the recessed region. The SMD of 2D coaxial porous injector, which has higher gas momentum, was measured and it shows better atomizing performance at the center and outer side of spray than the 2D coaxial shear injector.

아크용사시 불활성가스에 의한 피막밀착강도 향상에 관한 연구 (A study on the improvement of coating film characteristic in arc spraying by using the inert gas)

  • In this study, the experiments were carried out for the purpose of establishment of the arc sparing method which reducing oxides or oxide film by using the inert gas as the carrier gas of atomizing particles. Main results obtained are as follows; 1. Oxides and oxide film which lower the adhesion strength are largely reduced by using the inert gas as the carrier gas of atomizing particles, and adhesion strength of coating film are improved. 2. The coating film characteristics appear to be no difference between the inert gas arc spraying in air environment and that in argon gas environment. 3. Inert gas arc spraying using argon as the carrie gas has higher reduction rate of composition element in coating film than compressed air spraying does.

  • 폴리머 콘크리트의 원가절감을 위해서 생산비의 대부분을 차지하는 폴리머 결합재의 사용량을 절감하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 산업부산물로 얻을 수 있는 플라이 애쉬와 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그는 구형의 재료이다. 구형의 제강환원슬래그는 래들로 환원공정에서 생산되는 제강슬래그를 아토마이징 기술로 제조하였다. 폴리머 콘크리트 복합재료의 제 물성을 조사하기 위하여 폴리머 결합재의 첨가율과 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그의 대체율에 따라 다양한 배합의 폴리머 콘크리트 공시체를 제조하고 물성시험을 실시하였다. 시험결과, 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그의 대체율과 폴리머 결합재의 첨가량이 증가됨에 따라 공시체의 압축 및 휨강도는 현저하게 향상되었다. 내열수성시험에서 압축강도, 휨강도, 밀도 및 세공의 평균직경은 감소되었으나 총세공량과 공극률은 증가되었다. 탄산칼슘(충전재)과 강모래(잔골재)대신 구형의 플라이 애쉬와 아토마이징 제강 환원슬래그를 사용하여 만든 폴리머 콘크리트의 작업성이 현저히 개선되어 본 연구에서 개발된 폴리머 콘크리트는 종래의 제품보다 폴리머 결합재의 사용량을 18.2% 절감할 수 있게 되었다.

  • Atomizing mode and powder characteristics of CuA1Ni base shape memory alloy in rotating disk atomization were investigated in accordance with disk materials and additional elements. Produced powders were classified into two types of spherical and flake shape. In the case of CuAlNiBTi and CuAlNiZr alloy, high yield rate and fine powder were obtained. This tendency was same when we used oxide coated disks. We concluded that this results were steno from the wetting characteristics change between molten metal and disk surface. Especially, due to the reactive properties of Ti and Zr with ceramic disk, the change of atomizing appearance and powder characteristics were noticeable.

  • This paper is a study about characteristics of the SSC-1 nozzle, which is used in a fire extinguishing system in a ship. Through this paper, we can find that the traces and elements’ distributions obtained from experiments are as the same as the simulation analysis results of CFD program. At the point of 100mm, the $\alpha$ is 34.9 in the CFD analysis, and it is 32.5 in the experiment. This shows that there is no big different between the CFD analysis and the experiment result. And the average elements velocity is similar to the SMD.
