  • This paper presents the lateral stability criteria for integrated chassis control. To determine the intervention timing of chassis control system, the lateral stability criteria is needed. The proposed lateral stability criteria is based on velocity-yawrate gain domain to determine whether vehicle is stable. If the yawrate gain violates the proposed criteria, the stability of the vehicle is considered as unstable. Characteristic velocity and critical velocity are employed to distinguish lateral stability criteria. The inside of the two boundaries is stable and the outside is unstable. If yawrate gain of vehicle violates the lateral stability criteria, the chassis control begin to intervene. To validate the lateral stability criteria, both computer simulations and vehicle test are conducted with respect to circular turn scenario. The proposed lateral stability criteria makes it possible to reduce intervention of chassis control system.

  • Association rule mining searches for interesting relationships among items in a given database. Association rules are frequently used by retail stores to assist in marketing, advertising, floor placement, and inventory control. There are three primary quality measures for association rule, support and confidence and lift. In this paper we present the relation between the measure of association based on chi square statistic and the criteria of association rule for nominal database and propose the objective criteria for association.

  • One of the well-studied problems in data mining is the search for association rules. Association rules are useful for determining correlations between attributes of a relation and have applications in marketing, financial and retail sectors. There are three criteria of association rule; support, confidence, lift. The goal of association rule mining is to find all the rules with support and confidence exceeding some user specified thresholds. We can know there is association between two items by the criteria of association rules. But we can not know the degree of association between two items. In this paper we examine the relation between the measures of association and the criteria of association rule for ordinal data.

  • The impact of adding additional Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) criteria is demonstrated because current research shows MCDA for flood damage has been applied using only a few criteria but for better results the MCDA approach needs to apply more criteria for evaluating the alternatives. By adding additional criteria into MCDA, the capability to make the best alternatives more diverse and show the decision maker more differences in the scores of the alternatives to allow the decision maker to discriminate is significantly improved. The target region for a demonstration application of the methodology was the Suyoung River Basin in Korea. The 1991 Gladys flood event and five different return periods were used as a case study to demonstrate the proposed methodology of evaluation of various flood damage reduction alternatives.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the characteristics of design council criteria of metropolitan cities in Koreas. For comparative analysis, four main concepts are used ; 1) self-administering vs discretionary 2) prescriptive vs performance 3) conformity vs contrast 4) point system of criteria. The results of this study were as follows; 1) there were three types of cirteria; strong discretionary (DG), discretionary oriented (BS, US) and combination type (SL, DJ, ICN, GJ) 2) structural properties of forms are controlled by prescriptive criteria, and layout or design elements by performance criteria 3) visual openness and diversity are main items of most metropolitan cities 4) street-faced design was neglected but tended to focus on the self-contained layout 5) visual density indexes were diversified from elevation blockage degree. For further advanced research, it is necessary to investigate the actual effects and differences of regulative types - prescriptive vs performance, and of each design criteria, especially prescriptive ones in improving the design quality.

  • Choosing automobile safety options is price-performance matter. The best fit options to buyer who has a certain driving habit are problem of MCDM (Multi Criteria Decision Making) because price of safety option, statistics of relating accident, consequence of accident, and driving habit are the multi criteria to be evaluated. In this paper, PROMETHEE-GAIA methodology is applied for solving this MCDM problem. The result shows that a different driving habit makes different choosing priority of safety options.

  • Reservoir Reconstruction Priority(RRP) model is constituted both possibility and restriction criteria for establishing reconstruction priorities and their subdivisions that can be extracted each priorities from the GIS data and by using AHP as the multi-criteria method, it can extract the weighting parameters each criteria of the model. As such, RRP model appeared to provide reasonable criteria in determining the priority of agricultural reservoirs for reconstruction.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the factorial structure of the criteria on clothing selection of the working women, and then to provide the date to develop an instrument to measure the criteria on clothing selection. A total of 877 samples were selected from unmarried female in the twenties. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson's product-mement correlation coefficients, content analysis and Cronbach's α. The results of the study were as follows; 1. There were identified 7 factors as the clothing selection criteria of the working women; Fashion, Practicality, Modesty, Appearance, Service, Comfort, and Impulse purchase. 2. Comparing with the previous results, we confirmed that the criteria on clothing selection was made up of at least 8 factors; Practicality, Comfort, Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion, Individuality, Modesty, and Service. 3. According to the correlation among 8 factors, they formed two clusters; one cluster contained Practicality, Comfort, and Modesty factor, and the other did Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion and Individuality factor. 4. Service factor was significantly correlated to the other factors, that is, service was the very important criteria on the clothing selection.

  • The objectives of the study were two folds. The first objective was to determine the dimensions of the evaluative criteria of various clothing items (underwear, pajamas, jeans, blouse, two-piece, coat). The second objective was to compare the importance of the dimensions according to the clothing items and the socioeconomic status of the subjects. The questionnaires were administered to college female students living in Seoul. Principal component factor analysis with varimax rotation and ANOVA were used for the analysis. The results were as follows; 1) The evaluative criteria dimensions were found to be different according to clothing items. (1) In underwear, pajamas, jeans, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension, economic dimension and Functional dimension. (2) In blouse, two-piece, coat, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension and practical dimension. 2) there were partially significant differences in placing importance on each evaluative criteria dimension between socio-economic groups. (1) In jeans, there was a significant difference in placing importance on Aesthetic dimension between socioeconomic status groups. (2) In blouse and two-piece there was a significant difference in placing importance on Practical dimension between socioeconomic status groups.

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a diagnosis of exclusion and the lesions or objective findings should disseminate in space and time to diagnose MS. The diagnostic criteria of MS have continuously evolved overtime. The McDonald criteria were originally proposed in 2001, and the revised 2010 McDonald criteria have been used widely. Scientific advances in the past 7 years since 2010 induced the revised 2017 McDonald criteria. All revisions relied entirely on the available evidences, and not expert opinion. In this review, we will provide an overview of the way to diagnose MS and the 2017 McDonald criteria.
