The Analysis of the Pressure Fluctuation in the Exhaust System According to the Assistant Device Configuration (보조기구의 형상 변경에 따른 배기계에서의 압력 변동 분석)

  • This paper described the characteristics of the exhaust pressure and proposed the assistant device for detection of misfired cylinder. Misfire, one of abnormal combustion, affects a bad influence of the 3-way catalyst and emits unburned hydrocarbon. Therefore, to prevent these unusual phenomena and eliminate the factor of the environmental pollution, early detection and correction of the misfired cylinder play a very important role. The configuration of assistant device was changed by length and diameter of pipe and analyzed with the install position on the exhaust system. Experimental results showed that the configuration of assistant device is not affected more than length and diameter of pipe and the assistant device is be effective in the detection of misfired cylinder on the gasoline engine.

The Development of Assistant Device for the Standing X-ray Views and Its Usability for the Patient Safety (환자의 안전을 위한 입식 X선 촬영 보조기구 개발 및 유용성 평가)

  • In this study, We designed and implemented a assistant device for the standing X-ray views which is the one of the clinical X-ray imaging position. To evaluate the usability of the proposed assistant device, We choose 11 clinical patient postures that are used frequently and applied the postures to 5 volunteers. 11 images was taken from a volunteer for the patient postures. And we conducted a survey on safety and clinical usefulness, the 5 volunteers responded to the safety and 5 experts responded to the clinical usefulness. The survey results show that the volunteers feel more safe and the obtained images are very clear and clinically useful. The result for the image quality is 4.69 of 5(best) and safety is 2.84 of 3(best). It will be very profitable to both patients and hospitals by using the proposed assistant device.

  • This paper presents an optimally designed master device mechanism for teleoperated interventional robotic system. The interventional procedures using the teleoperated robotic system and the physicians' requirements are summarized. The master device should implement 5-DOF motion including 2-DOF translational motion for the entry position control, 2-DOF rotational motion for the orientation control, and 1- DOF translational motion for needle insertion. The handle assembly includes a 1-DOF translational mechanism for needle insertion and buttons for operation mode selection. The mechanisms for the 2-DOF translational motion and the 2-DOF rotational motion are designed using motors and brakes based on the various mechanisms to satisfy all the above requirements, respectively. Absolute position sensors are adopted to implement automatic initial positioning and orientation matching at the first step of needle insertion.

  • Case of patients with weakness in cardiopulmonary system, other ambulatory function is normal, but oxygen supply function is problem. So they need reduce energy consumption for gait by assistance system. In this study, we designed and developed walking assistant device which helps flexion and extension of hip joint for cardiopulmonary patients. There are two motors, each at the left and right side of pelvis, providing torque to the hip joint. The target angle of the flexion and extension in the hip joint is set according to the normal gait. As a result, reduction of energy consumption was 14.8% by gait assistive device.

  • In this paper, we propose assistant device system based on camera that can perform general mouse function for the physically disabled. Most disabled people use special hardware and rely largely on foreign-made assistance device and the using rate of assistance device was very low because of high price. To solve this problem, we propose effective system based on web camera that can perform general mouse function and can raise accessibility for the physically disabled. In the proposed method, we firstly attach color marker on arbitrary device or body parts and then input the information of color using camera and extract coordinate information of color marker and finally, match processing information(coordinate) to special event(keyboard, mouse) and control various applications. The proposed method shows good performance in price and performance compared with other techniques by real field test.

  • Moving assistant devices for people who are difficult to move are becoming electric-powered and automated. These moving assistant devices are not suitable for moving stairs at which the height between floor surfaces is different because these devices are designed and manufactured for flatland moving. An electric-powered and automated moving assistant device should change direction or stop when it approaches stairs in a movement direction. If the user or automatic control system does not change direction or stop in time, a moving assistant device can roll over or collide with stairs. In this paper, we propose a stairs detection method by using oblique distance measured by one sensor tilted to flatland. The method proposed in this paper can detect upward or downward stairs by using a difference between a predicted and measured oblique distance in considering a tilted angle of a sensor for measuring an oblique distance and installation height of the sensor on a moving object. Before the device enters a stairs region, if our proposed method provides information about detected stairs to a device's controller, the controller can do adequate action to avoid the accident.

  • As the advantages of smart devices based on artificial intelligence and voice recognition become more prominent, Virtual Assistant is gaining popularity. Virtual Assistant provides a user experience through smart speakers and is valued as the most user friendly IoT device by consumers. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there are differences in people's perception of the key virtual assistant brand voice recognition. We collected tweets that included six keyword form three companies that provide Virtual Assistant services. The authors conducted semantic network analysis for the collected datasets and analyzed the feelings of people through sentiment analysis. The result shows that many people have a different perception and mainly about the functions and services provided by the Virtual Assistant and the expectation and usability of the services. Also, people responded positively to most keywords.

  • In this research, we developed the muscle-strength-assistant device, named as LEXO-W, and conducted suitability test for army when transporting high weights. LEXO-W relieves the burden when carrying heavy weights by distributing the load concentrated on the arms throughout the body. LEXO-W weighs 4 kg and is designed to handle objects weighing up to 55 kg. To verify the effectiveness of the device, object handling tests (high explosive shell, simple assembly bridges, and ammunition boxes) were conducted. Working time, metabolic rate, and electromyogram (EMG) signals were measured in each test. As a result, it was confirmed that the working time, metabolic rate and EMG signal before and after wearing LEXO-W were decreased. This research has great significance in that it verified the performance of the wearable device from the perspective of military operation.

An User Experience of Proactive Intelligent Personal Assistant: Focusing on Google 'Nest Hub Max' (능동적 지능형 가상 비서의 사용자 경험 연구 : Google의 'Nest Hub Max'를 중심으로)

  • This is a qualitative study about Google 'Nest Hub Max' that displays proactive intelligent personal assistant. Following the step of grounded theory, an in-depth interview for 6 users who had used this device for a month was taken. 186 concepts were discovered, categorized as 11 top-categories and 24 sub-categories. Paradigm diagram, considering axis-coding, was made and it have been narrowed down to 'Usage patterns' of proactive IPA, considering selective coding aspects. 'Usage patterns' were divided to passive and active user. Thus, neither passive user nor active user was satisfied about device and proactive IPA. This study is meaningful that it constructed basic data about the user experience of proactive IPA on this device. It will support the device or service that consists proactive IPA in the future.
