LCA기법을 이용한 천연펄프의 환경 영향 평가 (Environmental Impact Evaluation of Virgin Pulp Using Life Cycle Assessment Methodology)

  • Life Cycle Assessment for the pulp, which is mainly used as the raw material of fine paper, base paper for food packaging and paper cup, has been carried out in this study to consider environmental aspects by quantifying the environmental emission and to evaluate its environmental impact potential. The system boundary was selected from cradle to gate stage(raw material acquisition, transportation of raw material and product manufacturing) of the product. Environmental impact was divided into 8 categories considering Korean situation: abiotic resource depletion, global warming, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, photochemical oxidant creation, ecotoxicity and human toxicity. In Life Cycle Impact Assessment(LCIA) methodology phase, Ecopoint, Eco-indicator 95 and Korean eco-indicator were used and the results carried out by each methodology were compared. The results from this study were also compared with those of foreign study to verify the reliability of the results. The results of the study could be utilized as the basic data for Environmental Management System(EMS), Design for Environment(DfE) and Type III eco-labeling in the paper and paper-related industry.

척추질환의 한의적정성 평가 연구 -입원환자 중심으로- (A Study on the Korean Medical Quality Assessment of Spinal Disease -Focusing on Admission Patients-)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to assess the quality of spinal disease focusing on Korean medical hospital admission patients. Methods The disease code related to spinal disease was selected based on the contents of development of clinical quality indicators for spinal disease. The assessment analysis of feasibility was conducted through medical history analysis that targets spinal disease patients, current development of clinical quality indicators for spinal disease, and relevant literature. Results The indicator items of structure, process, and results were classified and selected, and so were the detailed indicator entries. After that, the appropriate reference value was chosen. The final selected quality indicators were 3 items from structure, 9 items from process, 4 items from results, including 3 monitoring items, total 16 items was chosen. Conclusions Clinical research for the adequacy assessment should be conducted and the index entry and indicators should be reassessed through an expert group discussion. Training for the evaluation indicators and association with relevant society will motivate hospitals to voluntarily improve their quality.

지표종을 이용한 생태계 위해성평가 (Ecosystem Risk Assessment Using the Indicator Species)

  • 생태계 위해성평가는 유해물질의 노출로 인한 생태계 교란, 생물 공생의 파괴 및 부적합한 서식조건에 의한 생물집단구조의 문제를 적절히 평가할 수 있어야 한다. 초기의 위해성 평가는 오염의 수준을 숫자로 표기하여 단일된 공식으로 평가하였으나, 현재 이러한 평가는 실제로 생태계에 미치는 위해성을 평가하는데는 부적합하다. 따라서 지표종을 이용한 생태 위해성평가는 이러한 단점을 극복하며 육안적 지표의 변화 뿐만 아니라 유전자 수준에서의 변화까지도 감지함으로써 위해성 평가의 폭을 넓힐 수 있게 한다. 국외의 경우 오염의 평가 및 오염 지역 복원의 평가기준으로 여러 지표종을 이용하고 있으며, 여러 지표종을 국가 차원에서 종합적으로 관리하며 오염으로 인한 변화를 유전자 돌연변이 및 암발생 수준까지 연구함으로써 생태계 위해성 평가를 하는 추세이다. 국내의 경우에도 점차 지표종을 이용한 유해성 평가 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 오염물질의 인체에서의 발암 메커니즘, 동물실험을 통한 발암 메커니즘에까지 그 영역이 확대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재까지 이용되는 여러 지표종을 개략적으로 살펴보고, 중금속으로 오염된 폐광산에서 발견된 생지표종인 고사리, 지렁이, 미생물 및 도룡뇽의 변화를 생태계 위해성 평가에 활용되어진 다양한 예가 소개되어 질 것이다.

  • Planning Environment Impact Assessment is regarded as one of the most important measures to achieve sustainable development in China. Conduct environment impact assessment for port planning was prescribed by Environment impact Assessment Law of the People's Republic of China. This Paper introduces the basic concept of Planning Environment Impact Assessment and Port Planning firstly, and then discusses the assessment indicators and assessment methods adopted in the Environment Impact Assessment for port planning. At last, the application of the indicators and methods are illustrated in case studies based on the practice on Port Planning's Environment Assessment in China.

서식적합도와 생태지표를 이용한 거제한산만 굴양식장의 입식밀도 산정 (Estimation of Stocking Density using Habitat Suitability Index and Ecological Indicator for Oyster Farms in Geoje-Hansan Bay)

  • 대부분의 국내 어장들은 반폐쇄성 내만에 집중되어 있으며, 장기 양식과 높은 입식밀도에 의한 연안오염에 매우 취약한 위치를 점하고 있기 때문에, 지속적인 양식을 위하여 어장관리가 매우 중요한 실정이다. 이를 위한 방안으로 적지선정과 생태학적 환경수용력을 함께 고려한 최적 입식밀도 산정이 될 수 있다. 거제한산만 굴양식장의 입식밀도 산정을 위하여 0.0이 비적지, 1.0이 적지임을 나타내는 서식적합도(Habitat suitability index)와 생태지표인 여과압 지표(Filtration pressure indicator)가 이용되었다. 거제만의 서식적합도는 0.75로서 한산만 0.53보다 높았으며, 이는 거제만이 굴양식에 좀 더 적합함을 의미한다. 생태지표는 연안특성에 따라 다른 입식밀도를 나타내었으며, 결과적으로 거제만의 굴양식장에 대하여 현 입식밀도와 비교하여 평균 40%, 한산만은 평균 60% 저감 입식하여야 생태학적 환경수용력을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 입식밀도의 산정은 현재 국내 양식업이 직면한 연안오염, 환경악화, 생산성 감소에 대한 해결책을 제공할 수 있으며, 이 연구는 어장관리 정책 설립에 대한 과학적 근거로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

광용적맥파 미분 파형 기반 수술 후 통증 평가 가능성 고찰 (Postoperative Pain Assessment based on Derivative Waveform of Photoplethysmogram)

  • In this study, we developed novel indicators to assess postoperative pain based on PPG derivative waveform. As the candidate indicator of postoperative pain assessment, the time from the start of beating to the n-th peak($T_n$) and the n-th peak amplitude($A_n$) of the PPG derivative were selected. In order to verify derived indicators, each candidate indicator was derived from the PPG of 78 subjects before and after surgery, and it was confirmed whether significant changes were observed after surgery. Logistic classification was performed with each proposed indicator to calculate the pain classification accuracy, then the classification performance was compared with SPI(Surgical Pleth Index, GE Healthcare, Chicago, US). The results showed that there were significant differences(p < 0.01) in all indicators except for $T_3$ and $A_3$. The coefficient of variation(CV) of every time-related indicators were lower than the CV of SPI(30.43%), however, the CV in amplitude-related parameters were higher than that of SPI. Among the candidate indicators, amplitude of the first peak, $A_1$, showed that highest accuracy in post-operative pain classification, 68.72%, and it is 15.53% higher than SPI.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the climate change vulnerability of coastal and offshore fisheries in the South Sea of Korea using the RCP scenarios. Based on the vulnerability defined by IPCC, the indicator-based method was applied. Exposure indicator was calculated through weighted sum of the sea temperature and salinity forecasted by National Institute of Fisheries Science, and the weights were obtained from the time-space distribution of each fisheries. Sensitivity indicator was determined by applying the catch proportion of fisheries to the sensitivity of fish species. The adaptive capacity was measured by survey of fisheries which represent the ability of the fishermen well. As a result of summarizing the above indicators, vulnerability of coastal fisheries is higher than offshore fisheries. This shows that measures against coastal fisheries are needed. In addition, the results of each scenario are somewhat different, so it is considered that accurate prediction of climate change is important for adaptation measures.

인체의 아연필요량 측정방법 (Assessment of Zinc Requirement for Human)

  • The dietary requirement for zinc to maintain optimally the various metabolic and physiological funcitons is still under study. Human beings adapt to reductions in zinc intake by reducing the rate of growth or zinc excretion. Reductions in dietary zinc beyond the capacity to maintain homeostasis lead to utilization of zinc from an exchangeable pool. Loss of a small, critical amount of zinc from this pool leads to both biochemical and clinical signs of zinc deficiency. Zinc requirements have been assessed by balance studies and factorial method. As tissue zinc status influences endogenous losses and the dietary needs, individuls in good status may require higher amounts of zinc than those in poor status. While plasma zinc is insensitive to reducitons in dietary zinc, it is regarded as a valid, useful indicator of the exchangeable pool of zinc. Plasma metallothionein concentrations may prove useful for identifying poor zinc status. It has been suggested that functional end point measurement is the new direciton for zinc requirement. However, determination of the functional response to a marginal zinc intake is difficult because of the lack of a specific, sensitive indicator of zinc status. Presently, no good method for assessment of human zinc requirements exists.
