Assembly is mentioned as important process saving time and cost where we produce the machine with many parts relationships. In this study, parts assembly relationship is analysed for assembly information of micro milling machine which have been developing for research. Liaison diagram, datum flow chain and assembly tree are applied to discuss assembly characteristics of micro milling machine model. We can find out the characteristics of micro machine assembly and discuss about facility of assembly. Some analysis in this paper about micro milling machine will give a useful tools for assembly. We knew that the predicted results from analysis in this study are alignment and clearance among the parts. The 3D model of micro machine which is studied in this paper is not a complete model. Main parts of a micro milling machine are used and presented.
In this paper, a simple 2 D.O.F. planar motion model is proposed in order to analyze the snake motion of a machining center cross head assembly, that is travelling on linear guide rails. In the proposed mathematical model, the friction between head and guide ways is neglected, and also the support structures including guide rails, rear- and side-panels of the machining center are assumed to be rigid. The equations of motion of the proposed model are derived and successfully solved to determine vibration responses of the head assembly due to some applied traction forces.
The block assembly of ship consists of a series of heat processes such as cutting, bending, welding, residual stress relaxation and fairing. With the fast development of computers, the thermal elasto-plastic analysis method has become a versatile tool for practical applications in the ship production. If numerical analysis is proved to be an advantageous tool to predict the residual deformation due to various heat processes, the optimum methods which can remove the welding distortion can be presented at each assembly stage, which will result in great progress in improving the accuracy of block assembly. In order to minimize the weld-induced angular distortion in thick weldments, this paper proposes the optimum groove design for various plate thickness as the distortion control method. The validity of this method has been substantiated by a number of numerical simulations and experiments.

The purpose of this research is to propose a maintenance support system for deciding assembly sequence of the product and appropriate tools that are used to assembly and disassembly of parts in the product when geometric properties of the product. The digital maintenance system (DMS) is developed to generate the maintenance guideline and the initial experiment is conducted especially for an underwater weapon system with cylindrical structure. DMS considers four factors to find the efficient assembly and disassembly procedure automatically: (1) assembly tree, (2) properties of each part, (3) distance from the center of the product, and (4) volume. Based on the factors, DMS simulate the movement of each tool virtually and the properties of tools are investigated to find an appropriate tool for using assembly and disassembly of each part in the product. The proposed approach integrates modeling, simulation, data configuration, and virtual reality to allow a development of preliminary maintenance guidance.
In this study, an automation assembly jig for the automation assembly process for the ventilation grille that is used in the interior of a car Is developed. As the method that can do the automation assembly for the ventilation grille, a simple jig and air cylinder have been applied. And a solenoid valve, a filter regulator, and on-off switch have been used in controlling the system. Moreover, the timer is attached to the equipment so that a worker may control the assembly time, as fitting the quantity on demand of production. Actually with executing the assembly test productivity and performance of assembly have been verified. In case of the automation assembly work for a ventilation grille is compared to the manual work. The optimum working speed has been identified to make the process twice or three times better.

In this paper, systemaic approach is studied about assembility and disassemblility of parts of the gear system in order to reduce the assembly cost, and to disassemble products easily which is possible to recycle the parts. That is, an estimation of disassembly and assembly with considering of reliability life. In this study, we use symbolic chart method for an economic model for optimal disassembly and assembly.
As many engineers and technicians are involved in the design process of large scale and/or complex products, there are a lot of miss matches and interferences due to designers' faults and several kinds of CAD systems. Recently, CAD systems are applied to verify and check the assembly process. Digital Mock-Up(DMU) system, a tool to build a virtual mock-up in the design stage, has been used to prevent the interferences and miss matches during precision design processes. Using the virtual assembly tool, engineers are able to design precision and interference free parts without physical mock-ups. Instead of a single CAD source, several CAD systems are used to design a complex product. Several organizations are involved in the distributed design environment for heterogeneous multi-CAD assembly. XML and the lightweight CAD file are proposed for the multi-CAD assembly. XML data contains hierarchy of the heterogenenous multi-CAD assembly. STEP PDM schema and STEP ISO 10303-28 formations are applied to construct the XML data. The lightweight CAD file produced from various CAD files through ACIS kernel and InterOp not only contains mesn, B-Rep and topological data, but also is used to visualize CAD data and to verify dimensions. Developed system is executed on the desktop computers. It does not require commercial CAD systems to visualize 3D assembly data. Real-time interference and fitness checks, dimensional verification, and design and assembly verification are performed on the developed system. Assembly of heterogeneous models for a car is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the developed DMU system on the Internet.

Templated strategy is a very powerful tool for creating multi-dimensional self assembly of nanomaterials. Since viral protein cages have a uniform size with a well-defined structure, they can serve as an excellent template for the formation of a three-dimensional self-assembly of synthetic nanoparticles. In this study, we have examined the feasibility of the 3D self-assembly of gold nanoparticles of various sizes using a brome mosaic virus (BMV) capsid with cysteine groups expressed on its surface as a scaffold for the assembly. It was found that the three-dimensional clusters of gold nanoparticles with a designed structure were attainable by this approach, which was verified by transmission electron microscope (TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis.
