부동 소수점 DSP를 이용한 MPEG-4 HVXC 인코더 및 디코더의 실시간 구현 (Real-time Implementation of MPEG-4 HVXC Encoder and Decoder on Floating Point DSP)

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷 폰, 디지털 이동통신 등과 같이 낮은 비트율이 요구되는 분야에 사용될 수 있는 MPEG-4 오디오의 HVXC(Harmonic Vector eXcitation Coding) 알고리즘을 부동 소수점 DSP인 TMS320C6701에 실시간 구현한 내용을 기술한다. 실시간 동작을 위한 하드웨어 구조를 채택하였으며, 소프트웨어 최적화의 경우 연산 시간이 많이 소요되는 함수 루틴에 대한 C 언어 및 어셈블리 언어 레벨의 최적화를 수행하였다. 또한, DSP의 내부 프로그램 메모리의 프로그램 캐쉬로의 활용, DSP의 내부 데이터 메모리의 영역의 중첩 활용 및 background DMA 방식을 이용한 최적화를 수행하였다. 최적화 결과 2kbps및 4kbps의 비트율에서 압축 및 복원을 실시간으로 수행할 수 있으며, 인코더의 경우 2kbps의 경우에는 최적화 전에 비해 약 96% 정도로 수행시간을 단축하였다. 또한, 비공식 주관품질 평가에 의하면 2kbps의 비트율에서 약 MOS 2.45를 얻었다.

  • A superconductor flywheel energy storage system (SFES) is an electro-mechanical battery which transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy for storage, and vice versa. A 10 kWh class flywheel energy storage system (FESS) has been developed to evaluate the feasibility of a 35 kWh class SFES with a flywheel $I_p/I_t$ ratio larger than 1. The 10 kWh class FESS is composed of a main frame, a composite flywheel, active magnetic dampers (AMDs), a permanent magnet bearing, and a motor/generator. The flywheel of the FESS rotates at a very high speed to store energy, while being levitated by a permanent magnetic bearing and a pair of thrust AMDs. The 10 kWh class flywheel is mainly composed of a composite rotor assembly, where most of the energy is stored, two radial and two thrust AMD rotors, which dissipate vibration at critical speeds, a permanent magnet rotor, which supports most of the flywheel weight, a motor rotor, which spins the flywheel, and a central hollow shaft, where the parts are assembled and aligned to. The stators of each of the main components are assembled on to housings, which are assembled and aligned to the main frame. Many factors have been considered while designing each part of the flywheel, stator and frame. In this study, a 10 kWh class flywheel energy storage system has been designed and constructed for test operation.

우주환경하의 위성부품용 압전진동자 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the PZT Application for Spacecraft Components under Space Environment)

  • 위성체가 작동하는 우주환경인 초고진공상태에서는 각 부품에서 발생 할 수 있는 기체방출로 인해 위성체가 오염되어 위성체의 성능이 저하될 수 있으며, 특히 광학렌즈를 오염시킴으로써 위성체 본연의 임무수행 실패라는 결과를 초래할 수도 있다. 최근 항공우주분야에서 활용 범위가 넓어지고 있는 PZT-5 계열 압전진동자의 위성부품 활용성 연구를 위하여 먼저 Collected Volatile Condensable Material 및 Total Mass Loss을 측정하여 규정된 0.1% 및 1.0% 이하의 값을 얻었고, 한국항공우주연구원에 설치된 베이크아웃(bake-out) 챔버를 이용하여 고온 및 고진공상태에서 500 $ng/cm^2/hr$ 이하의 낮은 Thermoelectric Quartz Crystal Microbalance 값을 얻어 위성체 부품으로의 적합성을 재확인하였다. 압전진동자에 대한 고진공 환경 전후의 압전 특성을 비교 분석한 결과 진공환경에 의한 전기-기계적 특성은 1% 미만으로 큰 변화가 없음을 확인하였다.

  • Many researchers have studied on the lightness of automobile. These researches are such as a body shell, sub frame, fuel tank, engine etc. The transmission Part is a magnitude one in the aspect of weight. A drive shaft (propeller shaft) transmits the engine power to rear differential gear assembly. It is used in the compact car that is a single drive shaft. But in the case of long body cars such as SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle), truck and large vehicle, two or three divided drive shaft are used to prevent the vibration damage from a drive shaft that has been taken high torsion and rotation. This multi-divided drive shaft structure is so heavy because it is assembled by yoke, center bearing and solid spline axis. When the rear axle move up and down, the spline shaft adjust the variation of a length between the transmission and rear axle gearbox. In this paper, it is studied in the experimental method that is a bending vibration characteristic of slip in tube shaped propeller shaft. This type propeller shaft is developed to combine the spline axis with drive shaft and can be light in weight of transmission part.

감마선 분포 측정을 위한 섬광필름 기반의 감마 영상 검출기 제작 및 성능평가 (Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of a Scintillating Film-based Gamma Imaging Detector to Measure Gamma-ray Distribution)

  • As a feasibility study on development of a gamma imaging probe, we developed a scintillating film-based gamma imaging detector that can obtain scintillation images with information of gamma-ray distribution. The scintillating film-based gamma imaging detector was composed of a sensing probe, an image intensifier, and a beam profiler. To detect and transmit scintillation image, the sensing probe was fabricated by coupling a scintillating film, a fiber-optic image conduit, and a fiber-optic taper, consecutively. First, the optical images of USAF 1951 resolution target were obtained and then, modulation transfer function values were calculated to test the image quality of the sensing probe. Second, we measured the scintillation images according to the activity of the 137Cs and the distance between the surface of 137Cs and the distal-end of sensing probe. Finally, the intensities of scintillating light as functions of the activity and the distance were evaluated from the region of interest in the scintillation image. From the results of this study, it is expected that a fiber-optic gamma imaging detector can be developed to detect gamma-rays emitted from radiopharmaceuticals during radioimmunoguided surgery.

Assessment of Leak Detection Capability of CANDU 6 Annulus Gas System Using Moisture Injection Tests

  • The CANDU 6 reactor assembly consists of an array of 380 pressure tubes, which are installed horizontally in a large cylindrical vessel, the Calandria, containing the low pressure heavy water moderator. The pressure tube is located inside the calandria tube and the annulus between these tubes, which forms a closed loop with $CO_2$ gas recirculating, is called the Annulus Gas System(AGS). It is designed to give an alarm to the operator even for a small pressure tube leak by a very sensitive dew point meter so that he can take a preventive action for the pressure tube rupture incident. To judge whether the operator action time is enough or not in the design of Wolsong 2,3 & 4, the Leak Before Break(LBB) assessment is required for the analysis of the pressure tube failure accident. In order to provide the required data for the LBB assessment of Wolsong Units 2, 3, 4, a series of leak detection capability tests was performed by injecting controlled rates of heavy water vapour. The data of increased dew point and rates of rise were measured to determine the alarm set point for the dew point rate of rise of Wolsong Unit 2. It was found that the response of the dew point depends on the moisture injection rate, $CO_2$ gas flow rate and the leak location. The test showed that CANDU 6 AGS can detect the very small leaks less than few g/hr and dew point rate of rise alarm can be the most reliable alarm signal to warn the operator. Considering the present results, the first response time of dew point to the AGS $CO_2$ flow rate is approximated.

현존선에 선박 평형수 처리장치를 설치를 위한 위험도 평가 분석 (Risk Assessment for Retrofitting a Ballast Water Treatment System on an Exising Vessel)

  • Since Ballast Water Management Convention has been adopted, Ballast Water Management Convention is not effected yet. This convention will only enter into force 12 months after its ratification by 30 states, collectively representing 35% of world merchant shipping tonnnage. Morocco, Indonesia and Ghana have ratified this convention during last 29th IMO Assembly meeting which was held in November 2015. In 2016, Belgium, Fiji, Saint Lucia and Peru have become the latest countries to ratify the convention. As of now, 51 states and 34.87% combined merchant fleets are being calculated. BWM convention will be applied to not only new ships but also, existing ships after it is effected. Thus, existing vessel will be retrofitted a Ballast Water Treatment System according to D-2 Requirement until first IOPP nenewal survey after date of entry into force of the convention. Currently, about 65 BWTSs certified by Administration will be reported to IMO, even type of BWTSs is very various. Thus, a risk of each BWTS can be existed, and this existed risk can be also effected to ship's crew safety and protection of ship's own property. Therefore, we have evaluated a risk assessment for an existing vessel retrofitting an ultra violet type Ballast Water Treatment System which is mostly developed in the world. And we described the procedure of selecting a sample vessel, consequently, bulk carrier is selected because this vessel kind is mostly charged in the world. Especially, DWT 175K size is selected. Risk Assessment is using a HAZID and HAZOP method, evaluation method is referred to IMO Document "Considerated test of the Guidelines for Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) for use in the IMO rule-marking process(MSC/Circ.1203-MEPC/Circ.392)". The Risk Assessment Section is decided to 3 Nodes, Consequently, total risks have evaluated 51 items.

  • 도심지 건물의 증가는 친환경 공간에 대한 요구를 발생시키고, 이에 따라 옥상 및 인공지반 녹화의 보급이 급속히 증가되고 있다. 녹화시공은 방수층, 방근층, 보호콘크리트 등과 같이 다양한 재료를 시공하므로 시공시간이 길고, 하자 발생가능성이 높아진다. 본 연구는 기존의 녹화시스템 시공단계를 단축, 시공성을 향상시킨 새로운 녹화시스템에 사용하는 일체화된 방수 방근 하이브리드 시트의 물리적성능, 내구성, 방수성, 방근성을 평가함으로써 성능수준을 확인하고, 현장 적용 여부를 판단하고자 하였다. 시험결과, 우수한 물리적 성능 및 내구성, 방수성, 방근성을 확인하였으며, 향후 mock-up 시험을 수행하여 장기성능을 검증 중이다.

  • 제품을 개발하는데 있어서 경량화와 원가절감이라는 두가지 요소는 가장 중요한 화두이다. 특히 대형 LCD 로봇은 최대 $3{\times}3m$ 이상의 글라스를 7m 높이까지 상하, 전후로의 직선운동과 선회축을 중심으로한 회전운동을 하면서 작업공정간 이송을 가능케 하는 대형 구조물이다. 따라서 지나치게 무거울 경우에는 클린룸내 설치에 문제가 있을 수 있고 반송물의 정확한 이송을 위하여는 고강성이 요구되며 대량 생산을 위한 연속작업을 충분히 감당할 수 있는 내구강도를 확보하여야 한다. 따라서 경량화, 고강성, 고강도 제품에 대한 요구는 갈수록 증가하고 있다. 현재 개발되고 있는 11 세대 대형 LCD 승강프레임은 이러한 요구조건을 충족하기 위하여 최적설계 기법을 적용하여 기존 제품 대비 경량화와 고강성 요구조건을 만족하였으며 용접부에 대한 상세 수명평가로 내구강도에 대한 신뢰성을 확보하였다.

MODAL TESTING AND MODEL UPDATING OF A REAL SCALE NUCLEAR FUEL ROD

  • In this paper, modal testing and finite element modeling results to identify the modal parameters of a nuclear fuel rod as well as its cladding tube are discussed. A vertically standing full-size cladding tube and a fuel rod with lead pellets were used in the modal testing. As excessive flow-induced vibration causes a failure in fuel rods, such as fretting wear, the vibration level of fuel rods should be low enough to prevent failure of these components. Because vibration amplitude can be estimated based on the modal parameters, the dynamic characteristics must be determined during the design process. Therefore, finite element models are developed based on the test results. The effect of a lumped mass attached to a cladding tube model was identified during the finite element model optimization process. Unlike a cladding tube model, the density of a fuel rod with pellets cannot be determined in a straightforward manner because pellets do not move in the same phase with the cladding tube motion. The density of a fuel rod with lead pellets was determined by comparing natural frequency ratio between the cladding tube and the rod. Thus, an improved fuel rod finite element model was developed based on the updated cladding tube model and an estimated fuel rod density considering the lead pellets. It is shown that the entire pellet mass does not contribute to the fuel rod dynamics; rather, they are only partially responsible for the fuel rod dynamic behavior.
