추철근 겹침이음된 철근콘크리트 교각의 보강에 의한 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance and Retrofit of Reinforced Concrete Bridge Piers with Spliced Longitudinal Steels)

  • It has been known that lap splicing in the longitudinal reinforcement of bridge columns is not desirable for seismic performance, but it is sometimes unavoidable. Lap splices were usually be located in the plastic hinge region of most bridge columns that were constructed before the adoption of the seismic design provision of Korea Bridge Design Specification on 1992. This research is to evacuate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete bridge piers with lap splicing of longitudinal reinforcement in the plastic hinge region, and to develop the enhancement scheme of their seismic capacity by retrofitting with glassfiber sheets and to develop appropriate limited ductility design concept in low or moderate seismicity region. Nine test specimens in the aspect ratio of 4.0 were made with three confinement ratios and three types of lap splicing. Quasi-static tests under three different axial load levees were conducted. It has been observed that displacement ductility ratios of test columns with lap splicing were significantly reduced.

  • The status and effectiveness of Bi-modal Tram is analyzed through the comparison of the transport effectiveness and operation cost between the public transportation systems (bus, light rail transit) considering the vehicle and operation characteristic of new transit system Bi-modal Tram. The standard operation schedule is established in consideration of the vehicle specification and operation characteristic of main public transportation modes, and then the annual average operation cost is estimated depending on the volume, speed, analysis length for respective public transportation mode. Through analyzing the operation cost and distribution characteristic of public transportation modes depending on the transport volume and travel speed, the operational efficiency suitable for the city is derived. It is concluded that the operational efficiency of Bi-modal Tram is superior to that of the bus and light rail transit on the aspect of travel volume and operation speed.

  • This study is focused on measuring levels of science and technology aspect of ten strategic items in korea to serve as a guidance for the government R&D policy-making, and provide appropriate information for promoting the national R&D programs. The survey of the precise technology level for study applies functional and technical parameters. Functional parameters are used for measuring technology level of the specification and performance of emerging items such as 256M DRAM, TFT-LCD ect. in the present and / or near future; technical parameters, the element / core technologies on emerging items. The study suggests that the result of the survey should be applied for strategic technology planning to narrow the technology gap and draw the criteria for resource allocation in national R&D programs.

Provision of VHE Services to Roaming Users

  • Towards the deployment of 3rd generation systems, Virtual Home Environment (VHE), stemming from 3GPP, appears to be a powerful concept advocating the provision and delivery of personalized services to roaming users across network and terminal boundaries. This paper aims to expose the pathway for materializing the VHE concept, via the specification, implementation and evaluation of a prototype. Core aspects for realizing the concept such as the business and roaming models are presented, while a VHE enabling architecture utilizing key technologies (OSA/Parlay, MExE, and USAT) is introduced. The proposed architecture has already been evaluated by performing an initial trial demonstration. Currently it is being extended to support VHE service provision to roaming users, an aspect to be addressed by the final trial.

  • The primary goal of six sigma is to improve patient satisfaction, and thereby profitability, by reducing and eliminating defects. Defects may be related to any aspect of customer satisfaction: high product quality, schedule adherence, cost minimization, process capability indices, defects per unit, and yield. Many six sigma metrics can be mathematically related to the others. Literally, six means six standard deviations from the mean or median value. As applied to quality metrics, the term indicates that failures are at least six standard deviations from the mean or norm. This would mean about 3.4 failures per million opportunities for failure. The objective of six sigma quality is to reduce process output variation so that on a long term basis, which is the customer's aggregate experience with our process over time, this will result in no more than 3.4 defect Parts Per Million(PPM) opportunities (or 3.4 Defects Per Million Opportunities. For a process with only one specification limit (upper or lower), this results in six process standard deviations between the mean of the process and the customer's specification limit (hence, 6 Sigma). The results of applicative six sigma experiment studied on 18 items TP, ALB, T.B, ALP, AST, ALT, CL, CK, LD, K, Na, CRE, BUN, T.C, GLU, AML, CA tests in clinical chemistry were follows. Assessment of process performance fits within six sigma tolerance limits were TP, ALB, T.B, ALP, AST, ALT, CL, CK, LD, K, Na, CRE, BUN, T.C, GLU, AML, CA with 72.2%, items that fit within five sigma limits were total bilirubin, chloride and sodium were 3 sigma. We were sure that the goal of six sigma would reduce test variation in the process.

  • 강합성 바닥판은 두 방향의 휨 강성이 다르기 때문에 직교이방성의 성질을 가진다. 강합성 바닥판의 휨 강성비는 활하중 모멘트에 영향을 미친다. 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 휨 강성비는 메인 베아링 바 간격과 직접적인 관계를 가지고 있어 메인 베아링 바 간격과 형상비 영향이 고려된 하중분배 계수식에 대한 연구가 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 휨 강성비를 고려하는 AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification에 의한 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 활하중 모멘트를 평가하고 비충전 강합성 바닥판의 하중분배 계수식을 제안하고자 한다.

IMT-2000 위성부문 무선인터페이스 표준을 위한 임의 접속 기법 (Random access method for radio interface specification of IMT-2000 satellite component)

  • 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 위성 부문 무선 인터페이스 표준을 위한 임의 접속 채널의 전송 구조 및 접속 과정을 제시한다. 제안된 임의 접속에 관한 표준 내용은 IMT-2000 지상 부문 무선 인터페이스 표준의 하나인 3GPP FDD 모드의 임의 접속 기법과 많은 부분에서 공통성을 가지며, 위성 부문의 채널 특징을 고려하여 프리엠블의 반복 전송, 프리엠블과 메시지의 동시 전송, 그리고 물리 계층 레벨에서의 빠른 검출 확인이라는 특징을 갖는다. 현재, 제안된 임의 접속 기술은 한국 TTA에 의해 제안되어 IMT-2000 위성 부문의 하나의 무선 인터페이스로 ITU-R에서 승인된 SAT-CDMA의 임의 접속 기술로 포함되었다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 SAT-CDMA에 적용된 임의 접속 채널을 이용한 시그널링 과정과 지연 특성을 분석하였으며, 기존의 ALOHA 방식과 3GPP에서 사용하는 임의 접속 방식과 시그널링 지연 측면에서 비교하였다. SAT-CDMA의 고도 1600 km LEO 위성 궤도를 고려할 때, SAT-CDMA 임의 접속 방식은 기존 ALOHA 방식에 비해 전송 회수가 증가함에 따라 100 ms 이상의 적은 지연 시간을 보이며, 3GPP 방식에 비해 약 30 ms의 적은 지연 시간을 갖는다.

  • Fuel cell systems are consisted of various parts, for example fuel cell stack, fuel supplier, electrical converters, controllers and so on. Each components of system should have appropriate specification for their applications as well as simplicity. Because thermal load can be managed simply by using fans without any water cooling system, the air-cooled PEMFC is widely used in sub kW and around 1kW systems. The performance of an air-cooled system is highly dependent on ambient temperature and humidity. In this paper, the air-cooled PEMFC systems are developed and investigated to study the operating characteristics in the aspect of the thermal and water coupled management by the control of the axial fans and compressors. Various experiments were also conducted to get the cell voltage distribution, the relative humidity of the reactant gas and the thermal management by axial cooling fans, which cannot be observed in single cell experiment. After then, as practical applications, portable fuel cell system and a hybrid electric cart were successfully integrated and operated by using this air-cooled stack.

폐타이어 분말을 혼입한 몰탈의 단열특성 (An Adiabatic Characteristic on the Waste tyre Powders Mortar-Containing)

  • This is to find out that cement mortar mixed with waste tie particle can be applied for recycling it and enhanced to have shock absorption capacity. Therefore, architectural material specification and its related references for the disposal of it are based on for the study. Test has been performed with procedure, based on the Korea Standard insulation mortar and Compressive Strength Test has been done at K remicon factory approved by Korea Government in Korea, in order to decrease any possible error in mixing procedure. Test molds far insulation capacity and cohesive strength have been delivered to the expert agency for having more exact results. The result from the above test shows that waste tyre mixed with cement mortar has almost equal to the common concrete. This means that the recycling of the waste t)re will be demanded more and more in case of having continued development for this recycling area. And also waste t)to-using construction material can be more applied for construction area than existing material. Thus, this recycling method can be very usefully applied for solving environmental problem and for establishing economic aspect.

  • Short reinforced concrete bridge piers are particularly susceptible to shear failure as a consequence of the high shear/moment ratio and conservatism in the flexural strength design of existing RC bridge pier, which were constructed before 1992. In addition, shear failure is brittle and involves rapid strength degradation. Inelastic shear deformation is thus unsuitable for ductile seismic response. It is, however, believed that there are not many experimental research works for shear failure of the existing RC bridge pier in Korean peninsula subjected to earthquake motions. The object of this research is to evaluate the seismic performance of existing circular RC bridge piers by the quasi-static test. Existing RC bridge piers were moderate seismically designed in accordance with the conventional provisions of Korea Highway Design Specification. This study has been performed to verify the effect of aspect ratio (column height-diameter ratio). Quasi-static test has been done to investigate the physical seismic performance of RC bridge piers, such as lateral force-displacement hysteric curve, envelope curve etc.
