국내 의류봉제 산업의 글로벌소싱 의향 고려요인 연구: 여성니트복종(women's knit wear) 생산을 중심으로 (An Exploratory Study of the Determinants of Global Sourcing Intention in Korean Clothing Sewing Industry: Focusing on Women's Knit Wear Production)

  • Purpose - This study seeks to investigate the determinants of global sourcing intention in clothing sewing industry, in particular with its focus on women's knit wear production. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected a unique set of qualitative data through 31 in-depth interviews with fashion brands, promotion agencies, and sewing factories between July 2023 and October 2023. In addition, it analyzed the dataset using the MAXQDA to complement the research findings. Findings - We have two findings. First, the interviewees commonly mentioned the following factors as reasons for considering global sourcing: the human factors(aging of skilled technicians and labor shortages), the financial factors(gap in production unit prices at home and abroad), the relational factors(lack of novelty), and the physical factors(loss of production infrastructure and network), while the human factors(skilled workforce), the production factors(delivery date and product quality), and the relational factors(timely communication and mutual trust) as reasons for continuing domestic sourcing. Additional code analysis of interview also supports this finding. On the other hand, there was also a subtle difference between buyers(brands) and suppliers(promotion agencies and processing plants), and buyers consider the exact delivery date critical so that they could see trend-sensitive women's knit wear on time, and suppliers took production costs, labor costs, and labor shortages, which are financial factors, more seriously. Research implications or Originality - This study provides a richer and more balanced view of existing literature, which has generally tended to introduce global sourcing across the clothing industry despite the existence of various diversity within the industry. In addition, through qualitative research, we introduce that the sewing industry is carried out according to complex factors, and by revealing and categorizing the determinants of global sourcing, we supplement the existing research on the clothing sewing industry centered on survey. On a practical note, this study introduces that there is a difference in view of domestic sourcing and global sourcing between buyers(brands) and suppliers(promotion agencies and sewing factories), suggesting practical implications for revitalizing networks and deriving win-win cooperation network models among members in the future.

우리나라 20대 소비자의 명품 및 명품모방품 소비행태에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on Korean 20's Consuming Behaviors in Luxuries and Imitations)

  • 최근의 조사에 의하면 명품을 구매하는 소비자가 늘고 있다. 특히 2,30대의 젊은 소비자들은 강한 명품소유 욕구를 가지고 있어 본 연구는 20대의 소비성향에 대하여 이론적 토대를 마련하고자 하였으며, 이들 소비자를 대표하는 대학생들을 대상으로 명품에 대한 인식과 구매경험, 주로 구매하는 품목, 월 용돈수준 등을 조사하였다. 아울러 명품모방품에 대해서도 구매경험과 주 구매품목, 구매이유를 살펴봄으로써 명품 브랜드의 마케팅 전략 수립에 있어서 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 사회심리학적 관점에서 볼 때, 소비자들은 사회비교추구성향을 보이는데, 특히 젊은 세대는 상대적으로 통제감이나 자기효능감이 강하지 못하므로 주변의 분위기에 휩쓸린 과시소비에 쉽게 빠져들 가능성이 높아 명품에 대한 관심이 높을 수 있다. 또한 실증 조사 결과, 우리나라 대학생은 명품을 품질이 우수하거나 세계적으로 유명한 브랜드로 인식하고 있었다. 특히 남학생은 품질이 우수한 브랜드를, 여학생은 세계적으로 유명한 브랜드를 명품브랜드의 특성으로 꼽아 통계적으로 유의한 성별 차이를 보이고 있었다. 아울러 대부분의 응답자들은 명품브랜드를 구입한 경험이 있는데, 월 용돈이 많을수록 구입경험도 많았다. 응답자들이 구입한 품목은 패션용품, 의류, 시계/보석, 화장품/향수 등의 순이었고, 성별 및 용돈수준별로도 주요 구입품목이 차이를 보이고 있었다. 명품모방품의 구입경험자는 많지 않았으며, 주로 구입한 품목은 패션용품이었고 구입이유로는 가격대비 품질 및 경제적인 이유를 가장 많이 들고 있었다. 비교적 높은 용돈수준의 응답자들이 명품모방품 구입경험이 높은 점은 흥미롭다. 여학생은 남학생에 비해서 명품 및 모방품의 구매의도가 높았다. 학년별 명품 및 명품모방품의 구매의도는 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나, 용돈에서는 흥미로운 점이 발견되었다. 즉, 명품의 구매의도는 용돈이 높을수록 증가하고 명품모방품의 경우는 그 반대였지만 특정 용돈수준에서는 높아서 비선형적(non-linear)인 트랜드를 보였다. 이는 명품모방품 구입경험 조사결과와도 맥락을 같이 한다. 하지만 이에 대한 정확한 해석을 위해서는 심층적인 후속 연구가 필요할 것이다. 본 연구는 명품의 마케팅전략 수립에 있어서 여러 가지 학문적, 실무적 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

창업교육(Bizcool) 만족도가 진로인식에 미치는 영향 연구 (Study on the Effect of Bizcool Education Satisfaction to Career Awareness - Focused on the Differences among Students)

  • 연구는 창업교육 만족도가 진로인식에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 초 중 고등학교 학생 간 차이에 따른 영향도 함께 분석해 보다 효과적인 창업교육 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째로 창업교육 교육내용 만족도는 진로인식에 유의한 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 창업교육 교육방법 만족도는 진로인식에 유의한 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 창업교육 운영방식 만족도는 진로인식에 유의한 영향을 미친다. 넷째, 창업교육 만족도에 따른 진로인식은 교육수준(학생)에 따라 차이를 나타내지 않는다. 본 연구에서는 청소년 창업교육이 진로인식에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과를 도출하여 비즈쿨 교육 참여 효과가 긍정적인 도움을 준다는 점에서 시사점을 가진다고 볼 수 있다. 다만 학생 간 차이에 따른 진로인식의 차이를 나타내는 결과가 나오지 않아, 학생 간 차이를 대상으로 교육의 내용 및 방법, 그리고 운영방식 등에 대한 좀 더 구체화된 준비가 필요할 것으로 보인다.

중국 소수민족의 복식 연구(1) (The costume culture of China is as old and varied as her long history)

  • The costume culture of China is as old and varied as her long history. As China is a multiracial nation and consists of fifty-six min-ority races including Han race, there are not only fifty-six different costumes in China but each races' costume habit is very different. Therefore, Chinese penninsula can be considered an enor-mous exhibition center of the costumes. This study undertook on the assumption that the costumes' mainstream of Korea and east-northern Asia as well as that of China could be examined by investigating the minority races' costumes in the east-and west-northern areas of China. The process of evolution of the costume of a particular people, country or area is subject not only to constraints related to geography such as climate, topography or local products but is also affected by numorous environmental influences including cultural, economic, social and even pol-itical ones in terms of the selection of material, styling, color and standard of tailoring. In other words, things like philosophy of life, religious be-lief, aesthetic outlook, moral code, class system, degree of affluence, and cultural exchange will all be reflected directly or indirectly by features of a people's or country's style costume. Of course, there are several factors affecting to the style of costume of the minority people in China. However, the only three factors-geo-graphical and environmental, production method, and religious belef-will be touched in this study. First of all, the geograghical and eenviron-mental factor would be the decisive one because the costume should be designed to overcome the constraints of climate and geographical environ-ments. Accordingly, each race has an unique style of costume. The costume of the minority races in the northern parts are loose and wide, and made of warm furs. For instance, Mongolian robe has the quality of anti-wind, anti-cold and warmness, and the width of a sleeve is narrow and long. Secondly, the costume style can be said to be limited by the production pattern, when the geo-graphical environment was affected to decide the costume style, the production pattern was together affected to it . In case of Mongolian robe, they should satisfy the dual condition as the practical function. One is the condition that they should be fitted to the climate, and the other is the condition that they should be suit-able to the nomadic life. Mongolian robes are suitable to the nomadic peoples because they are designed for not only overcoming the cold wind and weather but being used as the bedquit at night. The costumes of Hoche people was made of the skin of the fish and wild animals because of their main means of living being fishing and hunting. Accordingly, their costumes are dur-able, warm and water-proof. Finally, the style of the costume is affected by the religious belief. In other words, the pattern in fashion is closely related with the religious be-lief or ancestor worship and nature worship. Ac-cordingly, the symbols of these worship are often emerged in the decoration of the costume. The design of costume of the people in the northern areas of China is very simple. It is related with their monotheism. On the other hand, the costumes of twen쇼 minority races in the east-northern parts of China can be devided into three racial groups such as the long robes of Man people and Mongols, Tunics of the peoples in the west-northern areas, and the pants and jackets of Hoche people. The minorority races all has not only the unique costume habit but their costumes are also related with their living style and production means.

A Case Study of Shanghai Tang: How to Build a Chinese Luxury Brand

  • This case focuses on Shanghai Tang, the first truly Chinese luxury brand that appeals to both Westerners and, more recently, to Chinese consumers worldwide. A visionary and wealthy businessman Sir David Tang created this company from scratch in 1994 in Hong Kong. Its story, spanned over almost two decades, has been fascinating. It went from what best a Chinese brand could be in the eyes of Westerners who love the Chinese culture, to a nearly-bankrupted company in 1998, before being acquired by Richemont, the second largest luxury group in the world. Since then, its turnaround has been spectacular with a growing appeal among Chinese luxury consumers who represent the core segment of the luxury industry today. The main objective of this case study is to formally examine how Shanghai Tang overcame its downfall and re-emerged as one the very few well- known Chinese luxury brands. More specifically, this case highlights the ways with which Shanghai Tang made a transitional change from a brand for Westerners who love the Chinese culture, to a brand for both, Westerners who love the Chinese culture and Chinese who love luxury. A close examination reveals that Shanghai Tang has followed the brand identity concept that consists of two major components: functional and emotional. The functional component for developing a luxury brand concerns all product characteristics that will make a product 'luxurious' in the eyes of the consumer, such as premium quality of cachemire from Mongolia, Chinese silk, lacquer, finest leather, porcelain, and jade in the case of Shanghai Tang. The emotional component consists of non-functional symbolic meanings of a brand. The symbolic meaning marks the major difference between a premium and a luxury brand. In the case of Shanghai Tang, its symbolic meaning refers to the Chinese culture and the brand aims to represent the best of Chinese traditions and establish itself as "the ambassador of modern Chinese style". It touches the Chinese heritage and emotions. Shanghai Tang has reinvented the modern Chinese chic by drawing back to the stylish decadence of Shanghai in the 1930s, which was then called the "Paris of the East", and this is where the brand finds inspiration to create its own myth. Once the functional and emotional components assured, Shanghai Tang has gone through a four-stage development to become the first global Chinese luxury brand: introduction, deepening, expansion, and revitalization. Introduction: David Tang discovered a market gap and had a vision to launch the first Chinese luxury brand to the world. The key success drivers for the introduction and management of a Chinese luxury brand are a solid brand identity and, above all, a creative mind, an inspired person. This was David Tang then, and this is now Raphael Le Masne de Chermont, the current Executive Chairman. Shanghai Tang combines Chinese and Western elements, which it finds to be the most sustainable platform for drawing consumers. Deepening: A major objective of the next phase is to become recognized as a luxury brand and a fashion or design authority. For this purpose, Shanghai Tang has cooperated with other well-regarded luxury and lifestyle brands such as Puma and Swarovski. It also expanded its product lines from high-end custom-made garments to music CDs and restaurant. Expansion: After the opening of his first store in Hong Kong in 1994, David Tang went on to open his second store in New York City three years later. However this New York retail operation was a financial disaster. Barely nineteen months after the opening, the store was shut down and quietly relocated to a cheaper location of Madison Avenue. Despite this failure, Shanghai Tang products found numerous followers especially among Western tourists and became "souvenir-like" must-haves. However, despite its strong brand DNA, the brand did not generate enough repeated sales and over the years the company cumulated heavy debts and became unprofitable. Revitalizing: After its purchase by Richemont in 1998, Le Masne de Chermont was appointed to lead the company, reposition the brand and undertake some major strategic changes such as revising the "Shanghai Tang" designs to appeal not only to Westerners but also to Chinese consumers, and to open new stores around the world. Since then, Shanghai Tang has become synonymous to a modern Chinese luxury lifestyle brand.

라이프스타일 유형과 자기표현욕구가 비건화장품 구매의도에미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 사회적가치의 매개효과 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Lifestyle and Self-Expression Desire on Vegan Cosmetics Purchase Intention: Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Social Value)

  • 최근 기초화장품 트렌드로 클린화장품, 비건화장품 등이 새롭게 다양한 출시가 이루어지고 있으며 시장 내 성장하고 있다. 한동안 화장품의 성분에 대한 관심과 영향이 커지면서 기능성화장품, 코스메슈티컬화장품, 더마화장품이 신뢰를 얻고 인기가 있던 가운데, 효능 외의 요소를 소구하는 비건 브랜드와 제품에 대한 관심이 커지고 있는 중이다. 이러한 변화에 있어 소비자의 라이프스타일과 사회적가치의 영향관계가 영향이 있을 것으로 보이는데 이를 분석하고, ESG가 강조되는 사회 분위기 속에 클린 또는 비건화장품의 소비가 일종의 자기표현의 욕구를 충족시켜주는 역할로써의 관계가 있을지 알아볼 필요가 있겠다. 본 연구는 화장품 소비자를 대상으로 라이프스타일 유형과 자기표현욕구가 사회적가치를 매개하여 비건화장품 구매의도에 미치는 영향에 관하여 분석하였다. 라이프스타일 유형을 외모지향형, 건강지향형, 유행추구형으로 구분하였다. 전국에 거주하는 화장품 소비자로부터 수집한 설문지 321부를 실증분석에 사용하였다. SPSS v26.0과 PROCESS macro v4.2를 사용하여 매개변수가 하나인 단일매개모형을 기반으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 외모지향형을 제외한 라이프스타일 유형인 건강지향형 및 유행추구형과 자기표현욕구는 사회적가치에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적가치는 비건화장품 구매의도에 정(+)의 방향으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 외모지향형, 건강지향형 및 유행추구형의 모든 라이프스타일 유형과 자기표현욕구는 비건화장품 구매의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 사회적가치는 외모지향형을 제외한 라이프스타일 유형 및 자기표현욕구와 구매의도 간을 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 외모지향 소비자는 사회적가치에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않고 구매의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 외모 지향적인 소비자의 경우 비건화장품 구매 동기가 해당 제품과 관련된 사회적가치에 크게 영향을 받지 않을 수 있음을 시사하고 있다. 표준화계수를 이용한 상대적 영향력 크기 비교에서는 사회적가치를 매개할 때 자기표현욕구가 가장 크게 비건화장품 구매의도에 영향을 미치고 건강지향형이 가장 작게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 학문적 함의로는 틈새 소비자 세그먼트, 중재 메커니즘 및 지속 가능성 고려 사항에 대한 통찰력을 제공함으로써 소비자 행동 연구에 기여하고 있고 마케팅 전략과 지속 가능한 비즈니스 관행을 형성하는 화장품 산업 및 그 이상에 대한 추가 연구 방향을 제시하고 있다.

벤처캐피탈 투자에 따른 코스닥 상장기업의 상장실적 및 경영성과 분석 (Venture Capital Investment and the Performance of Newly Listed Firms on KOSDAQ)

  • 본 연구는 2011년부터 2020년까지 코스닥 신규상장 기업 467곳을 대상으로 하여 상장 전 벤처투자를 유치한 경험이 있는 기업(VI)과 유치 경험이 없는 기업(NVI)으로 구분한 후, 상장실적과 상장 후 성장성을 종속변수로 설정하여 차이가 존재하는지를 실증분석하였다. 기술통계량, 평균차이분석, 그리고 다중회귀분석을 수행하였고, 독립변수로는 VC투자, 상장 시 기업의 업력, 기업의 업종, 기업 소재지역, 창투사의 규모 및 업력, 창투사의 전문성, 투자기업과의 적합도를 나타내는 지표를 활용하였다. 분석 결과 VC 투자를 받은 기업의 상장실적과 상장 후 성장성이 더 우수함을 통계적 유의성에 근거하여 제한적으로 관찰하였다. VC 투자의 경우 주로 상장 소요기간에 대해 부(-)의 영향을, 매출액 증가율에 대해 정(+)의 영향을 주었다. VC 투자금액의 경우에는 상장소요기간에 부(-)의 효과를, IPO시 시가총액에 정(+)의 효과를 미치며, 성장성 지표 중에서는 기업의 실질적 경영지표 중 하나인 매출액 증가율에 대하여 정(+)의 영향을 나타내었다. 한편, 본 연구는 분석대상 기업의 업종이 연구개발 특수업종에 해당하는 경우, 상장 이후 성장성에 제한적이지만 유의한 정(+)의 효과를 확인하였다. 또한 기업 업력이 시가총액 증가율에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것을 일부 연도에서 확인하였는데, 이는 장기적이고 안정적인 경영능력을 보이는 경우 단기에 급속한 성장을 나타낼 때보다 시장에서 더 높은 시가총액을 달성할 수 있게 됨을 의미한다. 추가로 앵커창투사의 특성변수들에 대해서도 투자기업의 상장실적 및 상장 후 성장성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았는데, 앵커창투사의 전문성 수준이 높으면 IPO 시점에서 더욱 높은 시가총액을 인정받는 것으로 나타났으나 그 외 다른 특성변수들에서는 통계적 유의성이 매우 국소적으로만 나타났다. 기존 선행연구와의 차별점은 지금까지도 코로나19에 의한 팬데믹 사태가 기업환경에 중대한 영향을 미치는 상황 속에서 우리나라 벤처캐피탈 생태계를 면밀하게 재검토하고자 하였고, 보다 효과적인 변수들을 도입하여 기업의 업종 영향을 살펴보는 등 특례상장과 같은 관련된 정책의 타당성 평가를 간접적으로나마 시도하였다는 점이다. 즉, 단순히 투자여부를 살펴보는 것에 더하여 VC 투자금액 또한 변수로 활용함으로써, 해당 금액의 수준에 따른 영향 또한 실증분석하였다. 본 논문은 이러한 탐색적 분석결과에 기반하여 기술특례상장제도 또는 벤처생태계로의 자금투입과 같은 정책들이 효과가 있음을 검증하였다. 그러나 최근 기술 발전 속도가 급격하게 증가하는 추세를 고려할 때 성장 동력을 충분히 가진 기업이 규제 또는 여론의 관성 등에 의해 성장성을 잃지 않도록 관련 제도를 신속하게 정비해야 하고, 지역 발전에 있어 업종을 특화할 수 있도록 도와주어야 하며, 회수시장 역시 보다 성장할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 한계는 데이터가 충분히 확보되지 않아 가설 검정을 10% 유의수준 하에서 수행하고 결과를 해석하였으며, 회귀모형 분석 시 상대적으로 낮은 수준의 수정된 결정계수 값이 보고되었다는 점이다. 각 변수의 효과성을 통계적으로 확인하려는 본 논문의 시도에 기반하여, 추가적인 후속 연구에서는 모형 등을 보완해 나가길 기대한다.

키워드 자동 생성에 대한 새로운 접근법: 역 벡터공간모델을 이용한 키워드 할당 방법 (A New Approach to Automatic Keyword Generation Using Inverse Vector Space Model)

  • Recently, numerous documents have been made available electronically. Internet search engines and digital libraries commonly return query results containing hundreds or even thousands of documents. In this situation, it is virtually impossible for users to examine complete documents to determine whether they might be useful for them. For this reason, some on-line documents are accompanied by a list of keywords specified by the authors in an effort to guide the users by facilitating the filtering process. In this way, a set of keywords is often considered a condensed version of the whole document and therefore plays an important role for document retrieval, Web page retrieval, document clustering, summarization, text mining, and so on. Since many academic journals ask the authors to provide a list of five or six keywords on the first page of an article, keywords are most familiar in the context of journal articles. However, many other types of documents could not benefit from the use of keywords, including Web pages, email messages, news reports, magazine articles, and business papers. Although the potential benefit is large, the implementation itself is the obstacle; manually assigning keywords to all documents is a daunting task, or even impractical in that it is extremely tedious and time-consuming requiring a certain level of domain knowledge. Therefore, it is highly desirable to automate the keyword generation process. There are mainly two approaches to achieving this aim: keyword assignment approach and keyword extraction approach. Both approaches use machine learning methods and require, for training purposes, a set of documents with keywords already attached. In the former approach, there is a given set of vocabulary, and the aim is to match them to the texts. In other words, the keywords assignment approach seeks to select the words from a controlled vocabulary that best describes a document. Although this approach is domain dependent and is not easy to transfer and expand, it can generate implicit keywords that do not appear in a document. On the other hand, in the latter approach, the aim is to extract keywords with respect to their relevance in the text without prior vocabulary. In this approach, automatic keyword generation is treated as a classification task, and keywords are commonly extracted based on supervised learning techniques. Thus, keyword extraction algorithms classify candidate keywords in a document into positive or negative examples. Several systems such as Extractor and Kea were developed using keyword extraction approach. Most indicative words in a document are selected as keywords for that document and as a result, keywords extraction is limited to terms that appear in the document. Therefore, keywords extraction cannot generate implicit keywords that are not included in a document. According to the experiment results of Turney, about 64% to 90% of keywords assigned by the authors can be found in the full text of an article. Inversely, it also means that 10% to 36% of the keywords assigned by the authors do not appear in the article, which cannot be generated through keyword extraction algorithms. Our preliminary experiment result also shows that 37% of keywords assigned by the authors are not included in the full text. This is the reason why we have decided to adopt the keyword assignment approach. In this paper, we propose a new approach for automatic keyword assignment namely IVSM(Inverse Vector Space Model). The model is based on a vector space model. which is a conventional information retrieval model that represents documents and queries by vectors in a multidimensional space. IVSM generates an appropriate keyword set for a specific document by measuring the distance between the document and the keyword sets. The keyword assignment process of IVSM is as follows: (1) calculating the vector length of each keyword set based on each keyword weight; (2) preprocessing and parsing a target document that does not have keywords; (3) calculating the vector length of the target document based on the term frequency; (4) measuring the cosine similarity between each keyword set and the target document; and (5) generating keywords that have high similarity scores. Two keyword generation systems were implemented applying IVSM: IVSM system for Web-based community service and stand-alone IVSM system. Firstly, the IVSM system is implemented in a community service for sharing knowledge and opinions on current trends such as fashion, movies, social problems, and health information. The stand-alone IVSM system is dedicated to generating keywords for academic papers, and, indeed, it has been tested through a number of academic papers including those published by the Korean Association of Shipping and Logistics, the Korea Research Academy of Distribution Information, the Korea Logistics Society, the Korea Logistics Research Association, and the Korea Port Economic Association. We measured the performance of IVSM by the number of matches between the IVSM-generated keywords and the author-assigned keywords. According to our experiment, the precisions of IVSM applied to Web-based community service and academic journals were 0.75 and 0.71, respectively. The performance of both systems is much better than that of baseline systems that generate keywords based on simple probability. Also, IVSM shows comparable performance to Extractor that is a representative system of keyword extraction approach developed by Turney. As electronic documents increase, we expect that IVSM proposed in this paper can be applied to many electronic documents in Web-based community and digital library.

지속적 관여도 및 인지된 위험이 소비자의 온라인 상인선택 프로세스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 요구신뢰 수준 개념을 중심으로 (How Enduring Product Involvement and Perceived Risk Affect Consumers' Online Merchant Selection Process: The 'Required Trust Level' Perspective)

  • Consumers differ in the way they make a purchase. An audio mania would willingly make a bold, yet serious, decision to buy a top-of-the-line home theater system, while he is not interested in replacing his two-decade-old shabby car. On the contrary, an automobile enthusiast wouldn't mind spending forty thousand dollars to buy a new Jaguar convertible, yet cares little about his junky component system. It is product involvement that helps us explain such differences among individuals in the purchase style. Product involvement refers to the extent to which a product is perceived to be important to a consumer (Zaichkowsky, 2001). Product involvement is an important factor that strongly influences consumer's purchase decision-making process, and thus has been of prime interest to consumer behavior researchers. Furthermore, researchers found that involvement is closely related to perceived risk (Dholakia, 2001). While abundant research exists addressing how product involvement relates to overall perceived risk, little attention has been paid to the relationship between involvement and different types of perceived risk in an electronic commerce setting. Given that perceived risk can be a substantial barrier to the online purchase (Jarvenpaa, 2000), research addressing such an issue will offer useful implications on what specific types of perceived risk an online firm should focus on mitigating if it is to increase sales to a fullest potential. Meanwhile, past research has focused on such consumer responses as information search and dissemination as a consequence of involvement, neglecting other behavioral responses like online merchant selection. For one example, will a consumer seriously considering the purchase of a pricey Guzzi bag perceive a great degree of risk associated with online buying and therefore choose to buy it from a digital storefront rather than from an online marketplace to mitigate risk? Will a consumer require greater trust on the part of the online merchant when the perceived risk of online buying is rather high? We intend to find answers to these research questions through an empirical study. This paper explores the impact of enduring product involvement and perceived risks on required trust level, and further on online merchant choice. For the purpose of the research, five types or components of perceived risk are taken into consideration, including financial, performance, delivery, psychological, and social risks. A research model has been built around the constructs under consideration, and 12 hypotheses have been developed based on the research model to examine the relationships between enduring involvement and five components of perceived risk, between five components of perceived risk and required trust level, between enduring involvement and required trust level, and finally between required trust level and preference toward an e-tailer. To attain our research objectives, we conducted an empirical analysis consisting of two phases of data collection: a pilot test and main survey. The pilot test was conducted using 25 college students to ensure that the questionnaire items are clear and straightforward. Then the main survey was conducted using 295 college students at a major university for nine days between December 13, 2010 and December 21, 2010. The measures employed to test the model included eight constructs: (1) enduring involvement, (2) financial risk, (3) performance risk, (4) delivery risk, (5) psychological risk, (6) social risk, (7) required trust level, (8) preference toward an e-tailer. The statistical package, SPSS 17.0, was used to test the internal consistency among the items within the individual measures. Based on the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficients of the individual measure, the reliability of all the variables is supported. Meanwhile, the Amos 18.0 package was employed to perform a confirmatory factor analysis designed to assess the unidimensionality of the measures. The goodness of fit for the measurement model was satisfied. Unidimensionality was tested using convergent, discriminant, and nomological validity. The statistical evidences proved that the three types of validity were all satisfied. Now the structured equation modeling technique was used to analyze the individual paths along the relationships among the research constructs. The results indicated that enduring involvement has significant positive relationships with all the five components of perceived risk, while only performance risk is significantly related to trust level required by consumers for purchase. It can be inferred from the findings that product performance problems are mostly likely to occur when a merchant behaves in an opportunistic manner. Positive relationships were also found between involvement and required trust level and between required trust level and online merchant choice. Enduring involvement is concerned with the pleasure a consumer derives from a product class and/or with the desire for knowledge for the product class, and thus is likely to motivate the consumer to look for ways of mitigating perceived risk by requiring a higher level of trust on the part of the online merchant. Likewise, a consumer requiring a high level of trust on the merchant will choose a digital storefront rather than an e-marketplace, since a digital storefront is believed to be trustworthier than an e-marketplace, as it fulfills orders by itself rather than acting as an intermediary. The findings of the present research provide both academic and practical implications. The first academic implication is that enduring product involvement is a strong motivator of consumer responses, especially the selection of a merchant, in the context of electronic shopping. Secondly, academicians are advised to pay attention to the finding that an individual component or type of perceived risk can be used as an important research construct, since it would allow one to pinpoint the specific types of risk that are influenced by antecedents or that influence consequents. Meanwhile, our research provides implications useful for online merchants (both online storefronts and e-marketplaces). Merchants may develop strategies to attract consumers by managing perceived performance risk involved in purchase decisions, since it was found to have significant positive relationship with the level of trust required by a consumer on the part of the merchant. One way to manage performance risk would be to thoroughly examine the product before shipping to ensure that it has no deficiencies or flaws. Secondly, digital storefronts are advised to focus on symbolic goods (e.g., cars, cell phones, fashion outfits, and handbags) in which consumers are relatively more involved than others, whereas e- marketplaces should put their emphasis on non-symbolic goods (e.g., drinks, books, MP3 players, and bike accessories).

독특성 추구성향과 호기심이 아트 콜라보레이션 제품에 대한 소비자의 감정에 미치는 영향: 성별에 따른 조절효과 (The Effect of Curiosity and Need for Uniqueness on Emotional Responses to Art Collaborated Products including Moderating Effect of Gender)

  • 연구목적 - 최근 기업에서 마케팅이나 광고를 할 때 아트를 활용하여 기존의 명화나 아티스트들과 협업한 새로운 작품을 제품에 접목하거나, 마케팅에 활용하는 경우가 늘어나는 추세이다. 아트 콜라보레이션 제품을 새로운 자극으로 생각하고, 자극에 민감하게 반응하는 독특성 추구성향과 호기심이 많은 소비자일수록 아트 콜라보레이션 제품에 대한 호감도가 증가할 것으로 본다. 따라서 본 연구는 아트마케팅에 대해 전반적으로 살펴보고, 개인특성인 호기심과 독특성 추구성향이 아트 콜라보레이션 제품에 대한 소비자의 감정에 미치는 영향과 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 알아 보았다. 그리고 성별에 따라 개인특성과 소비자의 감정 사이에 미치는 영향은 차이가 있을 것이라 예측하고 성별의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 연구결과 - 호기심은 긍정적 감정에 정의 영향을 미치며, 환기와 부정적 감정에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 독특성 추구성향 중 창의적 선택은 긍정적 감정과 환기에 정의 영향을 미치며, 부정적 감정에 부의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 독특성 추구성향 중 비대중적 선택은 긍정적 감정과 부정적 감정에는 영향이 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 환기에는 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 독특성 추구성향 중 유사성 회피는 소비자의 감정에 어떠한 영향도 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 성별에 따른 차이를 살펴본 결과, 창의적 선택과 부정적 감정 사이와 비대중적 선택과 부정적 감정 사이에서만 남녀 간의 차이가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 시사점 - 소비자의 호기심을 유발시킬 수 있는 새로운 디자인이나 전략을 시도하면 효과적일 것을 알 수 있으며, 독특성 욕구 중 자신의 정체성을 표현하고자 하는 욕구가 높은 사람이 아트 제품에 대하여 감정의 영향을 많이 받음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 지속적으로 예술가들과 콜라보레이션 활동을 통해 소비자의 감성을 자극하는 제품을 생산해야 할 것이다. 성별에 따른 큰 차이가 없으므로 남녀 구분없이 모두의 관심을 끌 수 있는 마케팅을 해도 무관하다는 것을 알 수 있다.
