  • Microelectronic fabrication technology .is based on the use of lithsgraphy to create small linewidths and patterns that make up ULSI. In previous papers, we discussed the theoretically calculated values such as ion range, ion concentration, ion transmission coefficient and the defocused ion beam-induced characteristics in a-Se$_{75}$Ge$_{25}$. In this paper, the typical Monte Carlo (MC) simulation results and p개cedures for the focused ion beam lithography were presented. The interaction and scattering of ions with the resist depend on the beam energy, impact parameter arid resist parameters. For ion exposure simulations, the quantity of interest is the spatial distribution of energy deposited by ions in the resist due to interaction phenomena with resist ions.s.s.

  • We have demonstrated new functionalities of Ag-doped chalcogenide glasses based on their capabilities as solid electrolytes. The influence of silver on the properties of the newly formed materials is regarded in terms of diffusion kinetics, and Ag saturation is related to the composition of the hosting material. Silver saturated in chalcogenide glass has been used in the formation of solid electrolyte, which is the active medium in the programmable metallization cell (PMC) device. In this paper, we investigated the optical properties of Ag-doped chalcogenide thin film by He-Ne laser beam exposure, which is concerned with the Ag-doping effect of PMCs before or after annealing. Chalcogenide bulk glass was fabricated by a conventional melt quenching technique. Amorphous chalcogenide and Ag thin films were prepared by e-beam evaporation at a deposition rate of about $4\;{\AA}/sec$. As a result of resistance change with laser beam exposure, the resistance abruptly dropped from the initial value of $1.4\;M{\Omega}$ to the saturated value of $400\;{\Omega}$.

  • In the present work, we investigated the holographic grating erasing method by means of the optical method. It was formed the grating under the interference of holographic recording He-Ne laser beams on chalcogenide $As_{40}Ge_{10}Se_{15}S_{35}$ thin film with various film thickness and erased the holographic grating by non-polarized He-Ne laser beam. As the results, the recording grating erased the 80 % of formed grating by non-polarized He-Ne laser beam. It was confirmed that the erasing characteristics by non-polarized laser beam need to improve the focusing of beam and the control of beam intensity. And then it can be expected as the application possibility of rewritable holographic memory technology.

  • An Er-doped sulfide fiber was drawn, and its spectroscopic properties were analyzed. Compositions of a 1000 ppmwt Er3+-doped core and an undoped clad were Ge30-Ga1-Asg-S61 and Ge30-As8-S62, in at.%, respectively. Refractive index of the core composition was approximately 0.01 high than that of the clad. In order to enhance the mechanical stability as well as to prevent infiltration of impurity ions such as OH-, an UV-curable polymer was used for the coating. The optical loss of a fiber formed directly from a polymer coated core rod without cladding was ∼15 dB/m at 1.06$\mu\textrm{m}$. In the case of a fiber with core/clad structure, the optical loss was so high that the stimulated emission of erbium fluorescence was not evident. It is believed that presence of inhomogeneous core/clad interface and crystalline aggregates precipitated in the clad region were responsible for the high optical loss. On the other hand, fluorescence characteristics of Er3+ embedded in the core region were more or loss deteriorate compared to fiber preform, which is attributed to the redistribution of the Er ions along with the partial crystallization of the core glass during the fiberization process.

  • In this paper a simple and effective call admission control (CAC) scheme is proposed for the emerging interleave-division multiple-access (IDMA) systems, supporting a variety of traffic types and offering different quality of service (QoS) requirements and priority levels. The proposed scheme is signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) evolution based CAC (SE-CAC). The key idea behind the scheme is to take advantage of the SINR evolution technique in the process of making admission decisions, which is developed from the effective chip-by-chip (CBC) multi-user detection (MUD) process in IDMA systems. By virtue of this semi-analytical technique, the MUD efficiency can be estimated accurately. Additionally, the computational complexity can be considerably reduced. These features make the scheme highly suitable for IDMA systems, which can combat intra-cell interference efficiently with simple CBC MUD. Analysis and simulation results show that compared to the traditional CAC scheme considering MUD efficiency as a constant, the proposed SE-CAC scheme can guarantee high power efficiency and throughput for multimedia traffic even in heavy load conditions, illustrating the high efficiency of CBC MUD. Furthermore, based on the SINR evolution, the SE-CAC can make accurate estimation of available resource considering the effect of MUD, leading to low outage probability as well as low blocking and dropping probability.

  • When relations improve between North and South Korea, there will be demand for North Korean edible plants because of the low labor cost and similar environmental conditions. However, there is no reliable information about trace elements, metals, and metalloids in edible plants from North Korea. Selenium (Se) and germanium (Ge) have positive effects on basic human health and are therapeutical in diverse illnesses. Metal and metalloid (Cd, Pb) poisoning, on the other hand, can cause many health problems. Plants collected from North Korea had higher selenium content than those from South Korea. Although none of the collected species exceeded the permissible levels of cadmium and lead, their content in plants was significantly higher in North Korea than in South Korea. The high metal contents in plants collected from North Korea may be associated with the soil physicochemical properties as well as the accumulated amounts of elements in the soil.

  • In this study, we have made the large holographic surface relief gratings on amorphous chalcogenide $As_{40}$$Ge_{10}$$Se_{15}$$S_{35}$ films by two beam interference using a He-Ne laser(632.8nm) light. The film thickness was about 0.6$\mu\textrm{m}$, we could magnify beam size by using beam expander. We made use $90^{\circ}$ holder which was made of reflection mirror and sample. Formed the surface relief structures were investigated using optical microscope. The diffraction efficiency was obtained by measuring +lst order intensity. In addition we investigated grating formation and diffraction efficiency as a function of polarization states which is linear or circular polarization. The results indicate that the grating was formed by linear polarized beam is better clear than that by circular polarized beam.

  • As all are aware, the results of the Malaysia 12th General Election (GE-12) in 2008 have surprised many. Not only the dominant parties Barisan Nasional (BN) were shocked by the loss of significant numbers of seats but for the first time in the history of Malaysia politics, vis-${\grave{a}}$-vis, electoral affairs, they were denied a two-thirds majority in the Parliament. Notwithstanding the opposition parties such as Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS), Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR: The People's Justice Party) that form the opposition coalition called Pakatan Rakyat (People's Alliance: PR), has come to a surprised with the GE-12 result, in which they not even think that were able to challenge hegemonic politics of BN, managed to capture and formed a government at the state level namely Kedah, Penang, Perak, and Selangor, except Kelantan which has been under the control of PAS since the 1990 general election. This article aims to analyze whether Sabah as a "fixed deposit"state is still relevant in understanding the continuity and survival of the BN political hegemony in the context of Malaysia political developments post-13th general election.
