For satellite orbit determination, a satellite (K-3H) which is affected by the earth's gravitational field and the earth's atmospheric drag, the sun, and the moon is chosen as a dynamic model. The state vector include orbit parameters, uncertain parameters associated with perturbations and tracking stations. These perturbations include gravitational constant, atmospheric drag, and jonal harmonics due to the earth nonsphericity. Early orbit was obtained with given the predicted orbital parameter of the satellite. And orbit determination, which is applied to Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) for real time implementation , use the observation data which is given by satellite tracking radar system and then orbit estimation is accomplished. As a result, extended sequential estimation algorithm has a fast convergence and also indicate effectiveness for real time operation.
Urban land cover classification is role in urban planning and management. So, it's important to improve classification accuracy on urban location. In this paper, machine learning model, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) are proposed for urban land cover classification based on high resolution satellite imagery (KOMPSAT-3A). Satellite image was trained based on 25 m rectangle grid to create training data, and training models used for classifying test area. During the validation process, we presented confusion matrix for each result with 250 Ground Truth Points (GTP). Of the four SVM kernels and the two activation functions ANN, the SVM Polynomial kernel model had the highest accuracy of 86%. In the process of comparing the SVM and ANN using GTP, the SVM model was more effective than the ANN model for KOMPSAT-3A classification. Among the four classes (building, road, vegetation, and bare-soil), building class showed the lowest classification accuracy due to the shadow caused by the high rise building.
Every year, several typhoons hit the Korean peninsula and cause severe damage. For the prevention and accurate estimation of these damages, real time or almost real time flood information is essential. Because of weather conditions, images taken by optic sensors or LIDAR are sometimes not appropriate for an accurate estimation of water areas during typhoon. In this case SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images which are independent of weather condition can be useful for the estimation of flood areas. To get detailed information about floods from satellite imagery, accurate classification of water areas is the most important step. A commonly- and widely-used classification methods is the ML(Maximum Likelihood) method which assumes that the distribution of brightness values of the images follows a Gaussian distribution. The distribution of brightness values of the SAR image, however, usually does not follow a Gaussian distribution. For this reason, in this study the ANN (Artificial Neural Networks) method independent of the statistical characteristics of images is applied to the SAR imagery. RADARS A TSAR images are primarily used for extraction of water areas, and DEM (Digital Elevation Model) is used as supplementary data to evaluate the ground undulation effect. Water areas are also extracted from KOMPSAT image achieved by optic sensors for comparison purpose. Both ANN and ML methods are applied to flat and mountainous areas to extract water areas. The estimated areas from satellite imagery are compared with those of manually extracted results. As a result, the ANN classifier performs better than the ML method when only the SAR image was used as input data, except for mountainous areas. When DEM was used as supplementary data for classification of SAR images, there was a 5.64% accuracy improvement for mountainous area, and a similar result of 0.24% accuracy improvement for flat areas using artificial neural networks.

Precipitation plays an essential role in water resources management and disaster prevention. Therefore, the understanding related to spatiotemporal characteristics of rainfall is necessary. Nowadays, highly accurate precipitation is mainly obtained from gauge observation systems. However, the density of gauge stations is a sparse and uneven distribution in mountainous areas. With the proliferation of technology, satellite-based precipitation sources are becoming increasingly common and can provide rainfall information in regions with complex topography. Nevertheless, satellite-based data is that it still remains uncertain. To overcome the above limitation, this study aims to take the strengthens of machine learning to generate a new reanalysis of precipitation data by fusion of multiple satellite precipitation products (SPPs) with gauge observation data. Several machine learning algorithms (i.e., Random Forest, Support Vector Regression, and Artificial Neural Network) have been adopted. To investigate the robustness of the new reanalysis product, observed data were collected to evaluate the accuracy of the products through Kling-Gupta efficiency (KGE), probability of detection (POD), false alarm rate (FAR), and critical success index (CSI). As a result, the new precipitation generated through the machine learning model showed higher accuracy than original satellite rainfall products, and its spatiotemporal variability was better reflected than others. Thus, reanalysis of satellite precipitation product based on machine learning can be useful source input data for hydrological simulations in ungauged river basins.
The detection of all the symbols transmitted simultaneously in multiuser systems using limited wireless resources is challenging. Traditional model-based methods show high performance with perfect channel state information (CSI); however, severe performance degradation will occur if perfect CSI cannot be acquired. In contrast, data-driven methods perform slightly worse than model-based methods in terms of symbol error ratio performance in perfect CSI states; however, they are also able to overcome extreme performance degradation in imperfect CSI states. This study proposes a novel deep learning-based method by improving a state-of-the-art data-driven technique called deep soft interference cancellation (DSIC). The enhanced DSIC (EDSIC) method detects multiuser symbols in a fully sequential manner and uses an efficient neural network structure to ensure high performance. Additionally, error-propagation mitigation techniques are used to ensure robustness against channel uncertainty. The EDSIC guarantees a performance that is very close to the optimal performance of the existing model-based methods in perfect CSI environments and the best performance in imperfect CSI environments.

Out-of-limit (OOL) alarm method that is threshold checking of telemetry value is widely used for the satellites fault diagnosis and health monitoring. However, it requires engineering knowledge and effort to define delicate threshold value and has limitations that anomalous behaviors within the defined limits can't be detected. In this paper, we propose a satellite anomalous behavior detection system through fuzzy model that is composed by important statistical feature selected by rough-set theory. Not pre-defined anomaly is detected because only normal state data is used for fuzzy model. Also, anomalous behavior within the threshold limit is detected by using statistic feature that can be collected without engineering knowledge. The proposed system successfully detected non-ordinary state for battery temperature telemetry.

This paper proposes an efficient sampled-data controller design technique for formation flying. To deal with the nonlinearity in the formation flying dynamics and to obtain a linear, rather than affine, model, we utilize the optimal linearization technique. The digital redesign technique is then developed based on the optimal linear model and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation results show the advantage of the proposed methodology over the conventional controller emulation technique.
The aim of this study is to cross-validate of spatial probability model, artificial neural network at Boun, Korea, using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Landslide locations were identified in the Boun, Janghung and Youngin areas from interpretation of aerial photographs, field surveys, and maps of the topography, soil type, forest cover and land use were constructed to spatial data-sets. The factors that influence landslide occurrence, such as slope, aspect and curvature of topography, were calculated from the topographic database. Topographic type, texture, material, drainage and effective soil thickness were extracted from the soil database, and type, diameter, age and density of forest were extracted from the forest database. Lithology was extracted from the geological database, and land use was classified from the Landsat TM image satellite image. Landslide susceptibility was analyzed using the landslideoccurrence factors by artificial neural network model. For the validation and cross-validation, the result of the analysis was applied to each study areas. The validation and cross-validate results showed satisfactory agreement between the susceptibility map and the existing data on landslide locations.

In Remote Sensing, a machine learning based SVM model is typically utilized for land cover classification. And study using neural network models is also being carried out continuously. But study using high-resolution imagery of KOMPSAT is insufficient. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess the accuracy of land cover classification by neural network models using high-resolution KOMPSAT-3 satellite imagery. After acquiring satellite imagery of coastal areas near Gyeongju City, training data were produced. And land cover was classified with the SVM, ANN and DNN models for the three items of water, vegetation and land. Then, the accuracy of the classification results was quantitatively assessed through error matrix: the result using DNN model showed the best with 92.0% accuracy. It is necessary to supplement the training data through future multi-temporal satellite imagery, and to carry out classifications for various items.

Spatiotemporal precipitation data is one of the primary quantities in hydrological as well as climatological studies. Despite the fact that the estimation of these data has made considerable progress owing to advances in remote sensing, the discrepancy between satellite-derived precipitation product (SPP) data and observed data is still remarkable. This study aims to propose an effective deep learning model (DLM) for bias correction of SPPs. In which TRMM (The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission), CMORPH (CPC Morphing technique), and PERSIANN-CDR (Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks) are three SPPs with a spatial resolution of 0.25o exploited for bias correction, and APHRODITE (Asian Precipitation - Highly-Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation) data is used as a benchmark to evaluate the effectiveness of DLM. We selected the Mekong River Basin as a case study area because it is one of the largest watersheds in the world and spans many countries. The adjusted dataset has demonstrated an impressive performance of DLM in bias correction of SPPs in terms of both spatial and temporal evaluation. The findings of this study indicate that DLM can generate reliable estimates for the gridded satellite-based precipitation bias correction.
