A Study on the Feasibility of IoT and AI-based elderly care system application

  • This paper conducted a feasibility study by applying an Internet of Things and Artificial intelligence-based management system for the elderly living alone in an aging society. The number of single-person families over the age of 50 is expected to increase, and problems such as health, safety, and loneliness may occur due to aging. Therefore, by establishing an IoT-based care system for the elderly living alone, a stable service was developed through securing a rapid response system for the elderly living alone and automatically reporting 119. The participants of the demonstration test were subjects under the jurisdiction of the "Seongnam Senior Complex," and the data collection rate between the IoT sensor and the emergency safety gateway was high. During the demonstration period, as a result of evaluating the satisfaction of the IoT-based care system for the elderly living alone, 90 points were achieved. We are currently in the COVID-19 situation. Therefore, the number of elderly living alone is continuously increasing, and the number of people who cannot benefit from care services will continue to occur. Also, even if the COVID-19 situation is over, the epidemic will happen again. So the care system is essential. The elderly care system developed in this way will provide safety management services based on artificial intelligence-based activity pattern analysis, improving the quality of in-house safety services.

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute to how the advantages of artificial intelligence (AI) services and the associated limitations can be simultaneously overcome, using the keywords AI and risk management. To achieve this, two cases were introduced: (1) presenting a risk monitoring process utilizing AI and (2) introducing an operational toolkit to minimize the emerging limitations in the development and operation of AI services. Through case analysis, the following implications are proposed. First, as AI services deeply influence our lives, the process are needed to minimize the emerging limitations. Second, for effective risk management monitoring using AI, priority should be given to obtaining suitable and reliable data. Third, to overcome the limitations arising in the development and operation of AI services, the application of a risk management process at each stage of the workflow, requiring continuous monitoring, is essential. This study is a research effort on approaches to minimize limitations provided by advancing artificial intelligence (AI). It can contribute to research on risk management in the future growth and development of the related market, examining ways to mitigate limitations posed by evolving AI technologies.

  • With the advent of deep learning and the rapid development of ICT (Information and Communication Technology), research using artificial intelligence is being actively conducted in various fields of society such as politics, economy, and culture and so on. Deep learning-based artificial intelligence technology is subdivided into various domains such as natural language processing, image processing, speech processing, and recommendation system. In particular, as the industry is advanced, the need for a recommendation system that analyzes market trends and individual characteristics and recommends them to consumers is increasingly required. In line with these technological developments, this paper extracts and classifies attribute information from structured or unstructured text and image big data through deep learning-based technology development of 'language processing intelligence' and 'image processing intelligence', and We propose an artificial intelligence-based 'customized fashion advisor' service integration system that analyzes trends and new materials, discovers 'market-consumer' insights through consumer taste analysis, and can recommend style, virtual fitting, and design support.

  • Artificial intelligence is becoming a global hot topic and is being actively applied in various industrial fields. Not only is artificial intelligence being applied to industrial sites in an on-premises method, but cloud-based artificial intelligence platforms are expanding into "as a service" type. The purpose of this study is to develop and verify a measurement tool for an evaluation framework for the adoption of a cloud-based artificial intelligence platform and test the interrelationships of evaluation variables. To achieve this purpose, empirical testing was conducted to verify the hypothesis using an expanded technology acceptance model, and factors affecting the intention to adopt a cloud-based artificial intelligence platform were analyzed. The results of this study are intended to increase user awareness of cloud-based artificial intelligence platforms and help various industries adopt them through the evaluation framework.

  • Artificial intelligence (AI) will have a huge impact on future education. We look at the role of AI in education and changes in schools. Personalized education is being attempted in limited services, and an interactive tutor service with speech recognition/dialog technology is being developed. In the future, we look forward to fully personalized education for individual students through AI teachers. Teachers are expected to make more effort to teach creative thinking, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. As the speed of development of AI technology accelerates, we expect that AI-based education will be deeply established around us in the near future. We first introduce the details of the personalization technology and then discuss the AI-based foreign language speaking education research conducted by ETRI.

  • In addition to the OTT video production service represented by Nexflix and YouTube, a personalized recommendation system for content with artificial intelligence has become common. YouTube's personalized recommendation service system consists of two neural networks, one neural network consisting of a recommendation candidate generation model and the other consisting of a ranking network. Netflix's video recommendation system consists of two data classification systems, divided into content-based filtering and collaborative filtering. As the online platform-led content production is activated by the Corona Pandemic, the field of virtual influencers using artificial intelligence is emerging. Virtual influencers are produced with GAN (Generative Adversarial Networks) artificial intelligence, and are unsupervised learning algorithms in which two opposing systems compete with each other. This study also researched the possibility of developing AI platform based on individual recommendation and virtual influencer (metabus) as a core content of OTT in the future.

  • The artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that will lead the future connective and intelligent era by combining with almost all industries in manufacturing and service industry. Although Korea is one of the world's leading artificial intelligence group with the United States, Japan, and Germany, but its competitiveness in terms of artificial intelligence patent is relatively low compared to others. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out quantitative analysis of artificial intelligence patents in various aspects in order to examine national competitiveness, major industries and future development directions in artificial intelligence technology. In this study, we use the IPC technology classification code to estimate the overall life cycle and the speed of development of the artificial intelligence technology. We collected patents related to artificial intelligence from 2008 to 2018, and analyze patent trends through one-dimensional statistical analysis, two-dimensional statistical analysis and network analysis. We expect that the technological trends of the artificial intelligence industry discovered from this study will be exploited to the strategies of the artificial intelligence technology and the policy making of the government.

  • Recently, the focus of research interest in artificial intelligence technology has shifted from algorithm development to application domains. Industrial sectors such as smart manufacturing, transportation, and logistics venture beyond automation to pursue digitalization of sites for intelligence. For example, smart manufacturing is realized by connecting manufacturing sites, autonomous reconfiguration, and optimization of manufacturing systems according to customer requirements to respond promptly to market needs. Currently, KSB Convergence Research Department is developing BeeAI-an on-site end-to-end intelligence platform. BeeAI offers end-to-end service pipeline configuration and DevOps technologies that can produce and provide intelligence services needed on-site. We are hopeful that in future, the BeeAI technology will become the base technology at various sites that require automation and intelligence.

  • This paper deals with AI education service that enables developers who have completed basic programming education to program in C/C++ language in order to learn big data and artificial intelligence. In addition, a customized development environment configuration system according to the development environment and how the user implements and tests artificial intelligence are explained. And also it has a function to check the effect on artificial intelligence through manipulation of various internal parameters. It is expected that it will be possible to develop artificial intelligence education services without language restrictions through networks in the future.

  • This study investigated the criteria for evaluating the impact of artificial intelligence services. The study classified AI evaluation targets into two areas: AI service and AI technology, and identified influence, sustainability, efficiency, effectiveness, and appropriateness as potential evaluation criteria. The time aspect of AI service evaluation was divided into pre-evaluation and post-evaluation, with pre-evaluation focused on reviewing items during development and design. The AI service area was classified into public, private, and mixed forms, and the impact assessment was classified as vertical or horizontal. The application of AI services was divided into normative and regulatory aspects, and the purpose of the evaluation could be impact or process evaluation. The subject and field of the AI service could also be used for classification purposes. The results of this study can be used to support the creation of AI service impact policies and countermeasures. However, further research is needed to develop specific indicators based on the criteria identified in this study to evaluate the impact of AI services.
