  • While human error has been one of the main technical issues from the early era of human factors engineering, it still remains hot and somewhat vague due to the various types of the concepts and words on human errors in practice. There may be some technical limitations hindering human error prevention activities. This paper introduces the human error activities described in the papers if this issue of ESK Journal according to a few criteria proposed for more effective technical review. And two basic technical issues are discussed on the concepts, perspectives, and classifications about human errors. Each activity shows its own artifacts associated with the safety purpose and the nature of the industry. This paper also provides a set of new technical bases proposed for a more effective management of human errors by considering the dependability, representativeness, and structuredness of human errors. Additionally, this paper includes some new challenges over the current prevention-oriented activities; positive utilizations of human errors to training/education, advertisements, fun and entertainments, and nudges.

  • In this paper, we propose a method about the extraction of the pedestrian tracking trajectory in the road and we used the method of mosaic background extraction and adaptive neural network for automatic pedestrian tracking system. We used mosaic background extraction to overcome ghost phenomenon. And we detected pedestrian using differential image analysis. We used adaptive neural network for multiple pedestrian tracking that nonrigid form moving. The ART2 network is capable of detecting the masscenters of moving objects within one frame. The history of neurons positions in the sequential frames approximates the traces of the targets. The experiments done with the network in simulated environment show promising results.

  • The most important thing in STEAM education is to enhance students' interest and understanding of science and technology. In this paper, we propose basic circuit system design and control method applicable to STEAM fusion education. The circuit system design practice using the breadboard is designated as an essential curriculum in the corresponding department at the high school and college level in the domestic curriculum. However, there is a lack of STEAM convergence implementation examples that can easily understand circuit system design and control methods. Therefore, we proposed and tested a method to implement and control a media art type circuit system.

  • Item cold start is a well studied problem in the research field of recommender systems. Still, many existing collaborative filters cannot recommend items accurately when only a few user-item interaction data are available for newly introduced items (Cold items). We propose a interaction feature prediction method to mitigate item cold start problem. The proposed method predicts the interaction features that collaborative filters can calculate for the cold items. For prediction, in addition to content features of the cold-items used by state-of-the-art methods, our method exploits the interaction features of k-nearest content neighbors of the cold-items. An attention network is adopted to extract appropriate information from the interaction features of the neighbors by examining the contents feature similarity between the cold-item and its neighbors. Our evaluation on a real dataset CiteULike shows that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods 0.027 in Recall@20 metric and 0.023 in NDCG@20 metric.

  • According as the latest printing technology is converted from analogue to digital, life cycle of a printing technology is shortened and the existent printing companies were faced always in a new technology. Specially, way of foreign countries export opened because globalization of printing market is accelerated. But, printing buyers of advanced nation require standard printing process control. fect at product process step. Emphasized in IPA technical conference for past several years tendency about graphic art color proofing and technical analysis and comparison going through Color Proofing RoundUP. These researchers have developed a color management technology. A specially developed printing technology and reference characterization data brought certain high quality elevation in a graphic art proofing technology. When excessive GCR method application supervise printing, width of color conversion necks by requiring a lot of color conversions than proofing. But, these point is lacking relatively than a lot of effects that GCR gives. Therefore, correct interests of GCR algorithm and verification step to forecast beforehand result about actuality application are positively necessary. Therefore, this research forced into input file which is applied with different levels from input to print for printing optimization that consider standard printing with eco-friendly by method to solve these problem. And experimented using manuscript who GCR level is applied as is different in each field, and analyzed the result. Also, it is verification method by step to last printing from input file that solve been the various quality who generate in actuality field through these analysis result. ICC color management confirmed printing optimization process applying GCR algorithm improved to base.

  • VR (Virtual Reality) contents make the audience perceive virtual space as real through the virtual Z axis which creates a space that could not be created in 2D due to the space between the eyes of the audience. This visual change has led to the need for technological changes to sound and sound sources inserted into VR contents. However, studies to increase immersion in VR contents are still more focused on scientific and visual fields. This is because composing and producing VR sounds require professional views in two areas: sound-based engineering and computer-based interactive sound engineering. Sound-based engineering is difficult to reflect changes in user interaction or time and space by directing the sound effects, script sound, and background music according to the storyboard organized by the director. However, it has the advantage of producing the sound effects, script sound, and background music in one track and not having to go through the coding phase. Computer-based interactive sound engineering, on the other hand, is produced in different files, including the sound effects, script sound, and background music. It can increase immersion by reflecting user interaction or time and space, but it can also suffer from noise cancelling and sound collisions. Therefore in this study, the following methods were devised and utilized to produce sound for VR contents called "A Midsummer Night" so as to take advantage of each sound-making technology. First, the storyboard is analyzed according to the user's interaction. It is to analyze sound effects, script sound, and background music which is required according to user interaction. Second, the sounds are classified and analyzed as 'simultaneous sound' and 'individual sound'. Thirdly, work on interaction coding for sound effects, script sound, and background music that were produced from the simultaneous sound and individual time sound categories is done. Then, the contents are completed by applying the sound to the video. By going through the process, sound quality inhibitors such as noise cancelling can be removed while allowing sound production that fits to user interaction and time and space.

  • Active fire monitoring using high-resolution drone images and deep learning technologies is now an initial stage and requires various approaches for research and development. This letter examined the detection of active fire objects using You Look Only Once Version 7 (YOLOv7), a state-of-the-art (SOTA) model that has rarely been used in fire detection with drone images. Our experiments showed a better performance than the previous works in terms of multiple quantitative measures. The proposed method can be applied to continuous monitoring of wide areas, with an integration of additional development of new technologies.

  • Tomography has been investigated to observe bubble behaviors in two-phase flows. A bubbly flow and an annular flow have been reconstructed by tomography methods such as an algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) and a multiplicative algebraic reconstruction technique (MART) . Computer synthesized phantom fields have been used to calculate asymmetric density distributions for limited cases of 3, 5, and 7 projection angles. As a result of comparison of two tomography methods, the MART method has shown a significant improvement in the reconstruction accuracy for analysis of the two-phase flows.

  • The structural control systems for civil engineering structures have got considerable attention in recent years, since they become effective protective systems. The key idea behind structural control is to keep the response of a structure within certain bounds dictated by serviceability, structural safety, and reliability. Recent activities in control algorithm development and control system design and practical aspects of their applications are sumarized, followed by a discussion on prossible future directions.
