예술 대학 교육을 위한 게임엔진 특성 연구 (Unity와 Unreal engine을 중심으로) (A Study on game engine properties for Art college education)

  • 현재 비디오 게임을 개발 할 때는 개발에 기반이 되는 필수 요소들인 그래픽 엔진, 물리 엔진, 오디오 엔진, UI 시스템, 게임플레이 프레임워크 등이 잘 융합된 소스 코드인 게임 엔진을 사용한다. 이 게임 엔진은 자체 개발을 해서 사용하기도 하지만 보통은 상용 엔진을 대여해서 사용한다. 이런 게임 엔진을 사용할 수 있으려면 수많은 이론과 기능교육이 필요하나, 한정된 기간의 대학교 교육에서 그것도 일반 공과 대학이 아닌 게임 관련 예술대학에서는 여러 가지 게임 엔진들을 이것저것 다루는 것은 불가능하다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 수많은 게임엔진 중, 실무에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 상용 엔진인 Unity와 Unreal engine의 장단점을 비교 분석함으로써 한정된 시간에 많은 양을 가르쳐야 하는 대학교에 있어서 효율적인 교육을 위해 위 두 엔진 중 어떤 것을 취사, 선택하여 교육하는 것이 학생들에게 유리한지에 대한 분석결과를 제안하였다.

BIM and Fire Safety Engineering - Overview of State of The Art

  • Fire safety engineering is a critical specialization to include in the design of a tall building yet is often excluded from the Building Information Model (BIM) and integrated design process. The design of fire safety systems is interdependent with building/structural geometry, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems. A BIM is a 3D visual representation that stores data on these kinds of systems. The compatibility between BIM and fire safety design seems obvious yet has received a dearth of attention in structural (fire) engineering literature. The authors herein have reviewed over 40 recent papers on utilizing BIM for fire safety engineering, focusing on contemporary literature to obtain a more up-to-date review of the state-of-the-art. The resulting trends, technologies, research gaps, and methodologies are presented in this paper. Adoption of BIM in fire safety engineering is slow and behind other disciplines which may be improved if research involved more industry partners. For BIM technology to reach its potential, industry manufacturers need to provide high LOD fire BIM objects, fire engineers and researchers need to collaborate on future advancements, and building owners/management need to be educated on how to use the benefits provided.

연체류, 갑각류 및 패류 중 N-Nitrosamine 함량 (The Content of N-nitrosamine in Mollusk Crustacea and Shellfish)

  • This study analyzed the levels of N-nitrosamine(NA) and its precursors such as nitrite, nitrate, dimethylamine and trimethylamine in 10 samples of mollusk fish, 4 samples of crustacea fish and 11 samples of shellfish from fish distributed in a local markets. Mollusk fishes had nitrite concentrations ranging from non-detectable(ND) to 9.4 mg/kg, crustacea fishes ND to 8.8 mg/kg, and shellfishes ND to 4.3 mg/kg. Nitrates in mollusk fishes ranged from ND to 19.3 mg/kg, crustacea fishes 4.1 to 79.9 mg/kg, and shellfishes 1.5 to 61.9 mg/kg. DMK concentrations were 11.2 to 551.4 mg/100g in mollusk fishes, 44.4 to 79.9 mg/100g in crustacea fishes, and 1.3 to 5.9 mg/100g in shellfishes. TMA concentrations in mollusk fishes, crustacea fishes, and shellfishes were 10.3${\sim}$292.4 mg/100g, 35.5${\sim}$90.3 mg/100g, and 2.3${\sim}$17.1 mg/100g respectively. Only N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) was detected for NA in fish distributed in local markets. NDMA contentrations ranged from ND to 41.4 ${\mu}g/kg$ in mollusk fishes, 3.0 to 47.3 ${\mu}g/kg$ in crustacea fishes, and 1.7 to 12.1 ${\mu}g/kg$ in shellfishes.

  • 최근, 스포츠, 디자인, 감성 과학 등의 분야 등에서 IoT 웨어러블 디바이스를 활용하는 여러 가지 연구들이 매우 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 시계, 스마트밴드, 안경 등 IoT 웨어러블 디바이스로부터 얻어지는 혈압, 심전도, 피부온도, 피부전도도 등과 같은 인간 생체 데이터는 의미있는 미래 응용들에 적용될 수 있다. 이러한 생체데이터는 인간의 감성변화와 물리적 상태등의 개인의 상태 정보를 얻을 수 있으며, 개인의 감성과 물리적 상태는 고객들의 가치있는 소비와 유관하게 연결되어 있기 때문에 이러한 방법은 현재 시점에서 그 중요성이 더해가고 있다. 그러므로, 개인적인 정보는 고객의 감성을 다루는 문화 산업의 마케팅에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 예술과 기술 사이의 융합 연구의 전체적인 구조를 활용하기 위한 구현 스텝들을 보인다. 이러한 예술과 과학의 융합을 통해, 뮤지컬 산업의 창작과 마케팅의 효율화를 증대하고자 한다.

쇠퇴주거지의 예술매개 도시재생 프로그램에 대한 화폐가치 분석 - 청주시 사직2동을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Monetary Value of Art Mediated Urban Regeneration Programs in Declining Residential Areas - Focused on Cheong-ju Sajik 2-dong -)

  • The goal of this paper is to assess the monetary value of each of the programs, by estimating the amount of willingnessto- pay for the urban regeneration programs that are being carried out in the art media space. Using the Sajik 2-dong in the City of Cheongju that is undergoing urban regeneration through 4 art mediated programs as the subject of this study, the monetary value was calculated through a contingent valuation method (CVM) that used double double-bounded question method. As a result of the analysis, the amount of willingness-to-pay for urban regeneration programs was found to be 36,250 won monthly average per household and, when this was converted to reflect all the households in the Sajik 2-dong area, the amount was estimated to be approximately 117 million won. In addition, in the case of the respondents who have experienced such programs, the amount of willingness-to-pay was found to be monthly average wise 12,880 won higher than those respondents who have not. As a result of the measurement of values based on art mediated urban regeneration programs, the Byeol-ddong-dae for children culture exploration program showed as having the highest value, followed by the local resident festival program, street puppet program and the resident autobiography program.

A Study on Arts and Crafts ideas with Works of William Morris

  • These days there is a flow of support for returning to design and handcraft, and the arts and crafts ideas of William Morris have an influence until the present over periods. The semanticity and methodology of guild production method supported by William Morris is studied. The foundation that human is in beautiful harmony with nature is on free labor and artistic life. In the organic relationship, the decline of art is understood as general crisis of culture, and human living condition should be changed in order to rouse the human sense of beauty and comprehension of art. Once human labor becomes artistic, the consumption living and local living become artistic as well. And then consumers desire more artistic works, structures, or urban spaces, and the demands for those move artificers to go toward producing more artistic works and structures. That is, the course of succession of art and culture through living is the driving force of social progress. Even if the period when Morris lived and the present are very different, this paper will shows that a large amount of art and culture will be greatly developed in twenty-first century which is 'the period led by cultural consumers', and the people directly creating art works will be also increased at the same time, as Alvin Toffler suggested. Furthermore, we can aware through this paper that such the people will rule the world. Finally it reached the period that we must face to 'making artistic life' as Morris expected a century ago. According to the result of this paper, we realized the study about Morris will contribute greatly to improve the quality of human life.

만다라트(Mandal-Art) 기법을 이용한 웹기반 농업용수 정보시스템 평가지표 개발 (Development of Evaluation Indicators for Web-based Agricultural Water Information System using Mandal-Art Method)

  • The importance of information system evaluation has increased according to ICT development and this evaluation is required for objective verification. The aim of this study is to develop evaluation indicators for web-based information system and verify the availability of these evaluation indicators through applying to agricultural water integrated information system. This study finds and provides eight evaluation items and 64 indicators for a web-based information system using $3{\times}3$ Mandal-Art matrix that is a tool for creating creative ideas. These evaluation items are design, contents, navigation, stability, community, convenience, usefulness, and accuracy. Total 64 evaluation indicators were presented by deriving eight evaluation items for each using $9{\times}9$ Mandal-Art matrix. When evaluating information system using evaluation indicators, it can be identified the vulnerable items in the information system. Also, the comprehensive results of the information system could be understood when appearing a single score after weighting. In addition, it can also help to prepare a questionnaire for evaluation systematically.

State of the Art 3GPP M2M Communications toward Smart Grid

  • Recent advances in wireless communications and electronics has enabled the development of machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. This communication paradigm has been expected as an automated control and report solution for smart grid. The smart grid enables customers and operators to utilize the collected usage information from a large number of meters with transceivers for efficiency and safety. In this paper, we introduce architecture, requirements and challenges of M2M communications for smart grid. We extract technical issues that should be resolved in M2M communications to support the smart grid via third-generation partnership project (3GPP) cellular networks. We then present the current state of the art of research results to deal with such issues. Finally, we outline the open research issues.

DP-LinkNet: A convolutional network for historical document image binarization

  • Document image binarization is an important pre-processing step in document analysis and archiving. The state-of-the-art models for document image binarization are variants of encoder-decoder architectures, such as FCN (fully convolutional network) and U-Net. Despite their success, they still suffer from three limitations: (1) reduced feature map resolution due to consecutive strided pooling or convolutions, (2) multiple scales of target objects, and (3) reduced localization accuracy due to the built-in invariance of deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs). To overcome these three challenges, we propose an improved semantic segmentation model, referred to as DP-LinkNet, which adopts the D-LinkNet architecture as its backbone, with the proposed hybrid dilated convolution (HDC) and spatial pyramid pooling (SPP) modules between the encoder and the decoder. Extensive experiments are conducted on recent document image binarization competition (DIBCO) and handwritten document image binarization competition (H-DIBCO) benchmark datasets. Results show that our proposed DP-LinkNet outperforms other state-of-the-art techniques by a large margin.
