In this study, a spatial spectrum method is proposed to cope with the pilot spoofing attack (PSA) problem by exploiting the of uplink-downlink channel reciprocity in time-division-duplex multiple-input multiple-output systems. First, the spoofing attack in the uplink stage is detected by a threshold derived from the predefined false alarm based on the estimated spatial spectrum. When the PSA occurs, the transmitter (That is Alice) can detect either one or two spatial spectrum peaks. Then, the legitimate user (That is Bob) and Eve are recognized in the downlink stage via the channel reciprocity property based on the difference between the spatial spectra if PSA occurs. This way, the presence of Eve and the direction of arrival of Eve and Bob can be identified at the transmitter end. Because noise is suppressed by a spatial spectrum, the detection performance is reliable even for low signal-noise ratios and a short training length. Consequently, Bob can use beamforming to transmit secure information during the data transmission stage. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations are performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme compared with conventional methods.
As the suitability of berth allocation will ultimately have a significant influence on the performance of a berth, a great deal of attention should be given to berth allocation. Generally, a berth allocation problem has conflicting factors between servers and users. In addition, there is uncertainty in great extent caused by various factors such as departure delay, inclement weather on route, poor handling equipment, a lack of storage space, and other factors contribute to the uncertainty of arrival and berthing time. Thus, it is necessary to establish berth allocation planning which reflects the positions of interested parties and the ambiguity of parameters. For this, a berth allocation problem is formulated by fuzzy 0-1 integer programming introducing the concept of maximum Position Shift(MPS). But, the above approach has limitations in terms of computational time and computer memory when the size of problem is increased. It also has limitations with respect to the integration of other sub-systems such as ship planning system and yard planning system. For solving such problem, this paper focuses particularly on developing an efficient heuristic algorithm as a new technique of getting an effective solution. And also the suggested algorithm is verified through the illustrative examples and empirical appalicaton to BCTOC.

In this paper, we studied a discrete-time queuing system that operates under a mixed situation of D-policy and T-policy, one of the representative server control policies in queuing theory. A single server serves customers arriving by Bernoulli arrival process on a first-in, first-out basis(FIFO). If there are no customers to serve in the system, the server goes on vacation and returns, until the total service time (i.e., total amount of workload) of waiting customers exceeds predetermined workload threshold D. The operation of the system covered in this study can be used to model the efficient resource utilization of mobile devices using secondary batteries. In addition, it is significant in that the steady state waiting time and system sojourn time of the queuing system under a flexible mixed control policy were derived within a unified framework.

MUSIC (multiple signal classification) algorithm is a representative algorithm estimating the angle of arrival using the eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Generally, the eigenvalues and eigenvectors are obtained through the eigen-analysis, but this analysis requires high computational complexity and late convergence time. For this reason, it is almost impossible to construct the real-time system with low-cost using this approach. Even though QR iteration is considered as the eigen-analysis approach to improve these problems, this is inappropriate to apply to the MUSIC algorithm. In this paper, we analyze the problems of conventional method based on the eigenvalues for convergence decision and propose the improved decision algorithm using the eigenvectors.

In this pape, an analysis approach for the performance of serial search burst-format direct sequence spread-spectrum code acquisiion system using matched filter is presented. And an acquistion system using analog matched filter is analyzed by this approach. And special consideration is focused on the effect of the code autocorelation sideobes. The basic idea of thi approach is the constuction of state tansition digram at the time of random packet arrival and the calculation of the packet loss probability, which is deveoped in terms of the following parameters: the false alarm probability. the etection probability, and the probability of receiver blocking obtained from the blocked customers cleae queeing system model. The analysis results reveal that the performance of the acquisition system is degraded by the effet of the code autocorrelation sidelobes above a certain value of SN/chip.

The Presence of a line-of-sight(LoS) blockage can degrade the UWB positioning accuracy for two reasons. Firstly, it makes estimation of the time of arrival(ToA) of the direct path signal difficult by complicating the multipath structure of the propagation channel. Secondly, the higher dielectric constant of the LoS blocking material than that of free space introduces excess propagation delay which will bias the range estimation. In this paper, methods based on ray tracing to reduce the ranging error resulting from the second reason are Posed. We take two different approaches; a statistical approach and a map-aided method. In the statistical approach, we establish a conditional distribution of the excess propagation delay caused by LoS blockages using a ray tracing technique. The lo6wer bound of the ranging performance based on this model is estimated. Ine ray tracing method is also used for the map-aided ToA positioning approach. UWB propagation measurement data taken in an office environment is used to examine the performance of this method.

In this paper, we address the problem of how to replace huffers in multimedia database systems with time-varying skewed data access. The access pattern in the multimedia database system to support audio-on-demand and video-on-demand services is generally skewed with a few popular objects. In addition the access pattem of the skewed objects has a time-varying property. In such situations, our analysis indicates that conventional LRU(least Recently Used) and LFU(Least Frequently Used) schemes for buffer replacement algorithm(ABRN:Adaptive Buffer Replacement using Neural suited. We propose a new buffer replacement algorithm(ABRN:Adaptive Buffer Replacement using Neural Networks)using a neural network for multimedia database systems with time-varying skewed data access. The major role of our neural network classifies multimedia objects into two classes:a hot set frequently accessed with great popularity and a cold set randomly accessed with low populsrity. For the classification, the inter-arrival time values of sample objects are employed to train the neural network. Our algorithm partitions buffers into two regions to combine the best roperties of LRU and LFU.One region, which contains the 핫셋 objects, is managed by LFU replacement and the other region , which contains the cold set objects , is managed by LRUreplacement. We performed simulation experiments in an actual environment with time-varying skewed data accsee to compare our algorithm to LRU, LFU, and LRU-k which is a variation of LRU. Simulation resuults indicate that our proposed algorthm provides better performance as compared to the other algorithms. Good performance of the neural network-based replacement scheme means that this new approach can be also suited as an alternative to the existing page replacement and prefetching algorithms in virtual memory systems.

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers are intrinsically vulnerable to radio frequency jamming signals due to the fundamental property of radio navigation systems. A GNSS jamming monitoring system that is capable of jamming detection, classification and localization is essential for infrastructure for autonomous driving systems. For these 3 functionalities, a GNSS jamming monitoring network consisting of a multiple of low-cost GNSS receivers distributed in a certain area is needed, and the precise time synchronizaion between multiple independent GNSS receivers in the network is an essential element. This paper presents a precise time synchronization method based on the direct use of Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) technique in signal domain. A block interpolation method is additionally incorporated into the method in order to maintain the precision of time synchronization even with the relatively low sampling rate of the received signals for computational efficiency. The feasibility of the proposed approach is verified in the numerical simualtions.

Various single probability distributions have been used to represent time headway distributions. However, it has often been difficult to explain the time headway distribution as a single probability distribution on site. This study used the EM algorithm, which is one of the maximum likelihood estimations, for the parameters of combined mixture distributions with a certain relationship between two normal distributions for the time headway of vehicles. The time headway distribution of vehicle arrival is difficult to represent well with previously known single probability distributions. But as a result of this analysis, it can be represented by estimating the parameters of the mixture probability distribution using the EM algorithm. The result of a goodness-of-fit test was statistically significant at a significance level of 1%, which proves the reliability of parameter estimation of the mixture probability distribution using the EM algorithm.
Maximum traffic flow rate is an important performance measure of operational status in transport networks, and has been considered as a key parameter for transportation operation since a bottleneck in congestion decreases maximum traffic flow rate. Although previous studies for traffic flow analysis have been widely conducted, a detection method for changes in dynamic traffic flow has been still veiled. This paper explores the dynamic traffic flow detection that can be utilized for various traffic operational strategies. Turning point analysis (TPA), as a statistical method, is applied to detect the changes in traffic flow rate. In TPA, Bayesian approach is employed and vehicle arrival is assumed to follow Poisson distribution. To examine the performance of the TPA method, traffic flow data from Jayuro urban expressway were obtained and applied. We propose a novel methodology to detect turning points of dynamic traffic flow in real time using TPA. The results showed that the turning points identified in real-time detected the changes in traffic flow rate. We expect that the proposed methodology has wide application in traffic operation systems such as ramp-metering and variable lane control.
