해저면 반사신호의 선 배열 소나 방위 오차 해석 (Estimation of bearing error of line array sonar system caused by bottom bounced path)

  • 선 배열 소나는 배열 이득으로 인해 단일 소나에 비해 상대적으로 음압이 낮은 표적 신호일 경우에도 방위 추정이 가능한 장점이 있다. 하지만 선 배열 소나에서는 표적의 방향을 나타내는 표적 방위각과 음파의 다중경로에서 발생되는 수직각의 영향으로 방위 오차가 발생하며 이로 인해 수신 신호로부터 표적 방위를 추정하는데 어려움이 존재한다. 수중의 음파 전달 환경에 의해 발생하는 다중경로는 각 경로별로 상이한 수직각을 가지므로 이러한 특성이 선배열 소나의 방위 추정에 미치는 영향에 대해 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 선 배열 소나에서 다중경로의 영향으로 인해 발생하게 되는 방위 오차를 확인하며 해저면 반사 경로에서 수직각에 의한 오차를 모의하여 환경에 따른 방위 오차의 차이를 분석한다. 또한 추정된 방위각에서 거리에 따라 방위 오차를 고려한 예상 표적 방위선을 도출한다.

85GHz-115Ghz 대 우주전파 관측용 초전도체 믹서 설계 (The design of 85GHz-115Ghz band SIS mixer for the observing cosmic radio waves)

  • We have evaluated the theoretical conversion loss and noise temperature of mixer using the quantum mixer theory and the method to determine the embedding impedance of waveguide-type mixer mount. At fixed backshort position of the mixer, the calculated SSB mixer conversion loss and mixer noise temperature are 5 dB and 10K within frequency range form 85 GHz to 115 GHz, respectively. The SIS mixer has been developed by using through on the calculated rsutls to observe cosmic radio waves. SIS junction of mixer is Nb/Al-AlOx/Nb and it consists of four series array. Area of each of junction is about 2.5${\mu}m^{2}$. The average receiver noise temperature of manufactured receiver with this mixer is about 30 K(DSB). The receiver noise temperature is much lower than that of receiver with a mixer using mechanical tuning backshort.

A Novel GNSS Spoofing Detection Technique with Array Antenna-Based Multi-PRN Diversity

  • In this paper, we propose a novel global navigation satellite system (GNSS) spoofing detection technique through an array antenna-based direction of arrival (DoA) estimation of satellite and spoofer. Specifically, we consider a sophisticated GNSS spoofing attack scenario where the spoofer can accurately mimic the multiple pseudo-random number (PRN) signals since the spoofer has its own GNSS receiver and knows the location of the target receiver in advance. The target GNSS receiver precisely estimates the DoA of all PRN signals using compressed sensing-based orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) even with a small number of samples, and it performs spoofing detection from the DoA estimation results of all PRN signals. In addition, considering the initial situation of a sophisticated spoofing attack scenario, we designed the algorithm to have high spoofing detection performance regardless of the relative spoofing signal power. Therefore, we do not consider the assumption in which the power of the spoofing signal is about 3 dB greater than that of the authentic signal. Then, we introduce design parameters to get high true detection probability and low false alarm probability in tandem by considering the condition for the presence of signal sources and the proximity of the DoA between authentic signals. Through computer simulations, we compare the DoA estimation performance between the conventional signal direction estimation method and the OMP algorithm in few samples. Finally, we show in the sophisticated spoofing attack scenario that the proposed spoofing detection technique using OMP-based estimated DoA of all PRN signals outperforms the conventional spoofing detection scheme in terms of true detection and false alarm probability.

Ku-대역 FMCW 레이더용 전자식 빔 조향 배열 안테나 특성 검증 (Characteristic Verification of Electronically Scanned Array Antenna for a Ku-band FMCW Radar)

  • 본 논문에서는 포토닉스 기반의 Ku-대역 FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) 레이더 시스템에 적용할 전자식 빔 조향 배열 안테나 설계, 제작 및 검증 단계에 대해서 기술한다. 본 시스템은 송신부와 수신부가 따로 구성되어 있으며, 송수신부에 동일 안테나를 적용하였다. 설계된 안테나는 2×8 배열 구조를 가지며, Ku-대역에서 동작한다. 16개의 복사 소자 개별로 정재파비 측정 및 배열 복사 소자 간 커플링 영향성을 확인하였다. 또한, 송신 시 수신 안테나로 넘어가는 전력으로 인한 시스템 영향성을 최소화 하도록 송신 안테나, 수신 안테나 간의 분리도 특성을 최적화 하였으며 측정을 통해 확인하였다. 최종적으로 근접전계 챔버에서 16개 복사 소자 각각 빔 패턴 측정하여 데이터 확보 후 빔 합성을 통하여 2×8 배열 안테나의 빔폭, 부엽준위 및 빔 조향 특성을 확인하였다.

ASTE receiver optics design using ultra wideband corrugated horn at combined ALMA band 7 and band 8 frequencies

  • We report the detailed design of an unprecedented wideband(band7+8) corrugated feed horn in ASTE focal plane array aiming for future ALMA receiver. We have found that such design constraints as return loss, cross-polarization level, beam width and phase curvature can be controlled by optimizing critical corrugation parameters at the throat and flare region of the horn. The success of optimization manifest itself through simulated aperture effciency over 80 % at the entire frequency range. Physical implications of the resulting corrugation parameters are discussed.

  • We have developed an imaging radiometer system at W-band. The system consists of lens, reflector, 30-ch receiver array, scanner, and signal processor. One receiver consists of a dielectric rod antenna, a balun, LNA(low noise amplifier) and a detector. The system configuration requirements are described. Finally, we represent radiometer images to obtain through clouds, smoke, dust, and other obstructions which render visible and IR systems ineffective.

  • This paper analyzes the design factors for GNSS anti-jamming receiver system in which the adaptive beamforming algorithm is applied in GNSS receiver system. The design analysis factors used in this paper are divided into three: antenna, beamforming algorithm, and operation environment. This paper analyzes the above three factors and presents numerical simulation results on antenna and beamforming algorithm.

Preliminary Results of 7-Channel Insertional pTx Array Coil for 3T MRI

  • In this research, we report the preliminary results of an insertional type parallel transmission (pTx) array that has 7-elements that are placed in the space above a patient table as a transmit (Tx) coil to give an RF transmission ($B_1{^+}$) field for the body object of a 3 Tesla (T) MRI system. In previous research, we have tried to compare the performances of different coil elements and array geometries for a pTx body image. Based on these results, we attempt to obtain a human image with the proposed pTx array. Through the simulation and experimental results, we introduce a possible structure of multi-channel Tx array and verify the utility of a multi-channel Tx body image using $B_1{^+}$ shimming. The insertional pTx array, combined with a receiver (Rx) array coil, provides an enhanced $B_1{^+}$ field homogeneity in a large ROI image as a result of $B_1{^+}$ shimming applied over the full body size object. Through this research, we hope to determine the usefulness of the proposed insertional type RF coil combination for 3 T body imaging.

Capacity Enhancement through Adaptive Antenna Array for a Multicarrier DS/CDMA System

  • In this paper, capacity of a multicarrier DS/CDMA system is analyzed and simulated in a Nakagami fading channel. It is confirmed that the adaptive antenna array is a very efficient solution to enhance system capacity of a multicarrier DS/CDMA system. The results in this paper can be applicable to receiver design for the third and fourth mobile communication systems.

  • We designed superconducting four-element patch array antenna which has single-feed circularly polarization and a resonance frequency of 11.85 GHz for DBS receiving system. Antennas have been fabricated from both gold conductor and $YBa_{2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{7-x}$(YBCO) superconductor (thin films) for comparison. Simulated and measured results, and analysis on resonant frequency(fr), return loss, and bandwidth are presented.
