격자단위 분석기법을 적용한 도시 기후변화 재해취약성분석 (Grid Unit Based Analysis of Climate Change Driven Disaster Vulnerability in Urban Area)

  • 오늘날 인간의 정주공간이 도시로 집중화되면서 도시 생활공간의 복잡화, 다양화, 고도화 되는 상황을 고려한 도시계획 관리기법의 개발이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 대형화 다양화되고 있는 기후변화 재해에 효율적으로 대응하기 위해서는 도시의 재해 취약성에 대한 분석에 근거한 토지이용, 기반시설 등을 계획하는 도시계획이 필요하다. 이러한 관점에서 도입된 도시 기후변화 재해취약성 분석(UC-VAS)제도는 현재 집계구단위 분석방식으로 운영됨으로 도시계획활용을 위한 세부적인 구역검토가 어려운 실정이다. 이에 분석단위를 격자방식으로 변경하고 2개 지자체를 대상으로 분석하여 해당결과를 비교검토하였다. 분석결과 집계구 단위보다 세부적인 결과도출이 가능하며, 항공영상과의 현황비교결과 세부적인 구역설정이 가능한 결과를 마련할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 비교검토결과와 더불어 분석지표에 따라 격자단위 결과 활용에 문제점이 발생됨을 발견함으로써 향후 도시기후변화 재해취약성 분석제도의 과학성과 객관성을 추가 확보하는 전문적인 방안을 제시함으로써 제도운영의 효율성을 기대한다.

Evaluation of waste disposal site using the DRASTIC system in Southern Korea

  • As a systematic approach to waste disposal site screening for groundwater pollution protection, the DRASTIC system developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) was introduced at Younggwang County in Korea. Hydrogeologic spatial databases for the system include info rmation on depth to water, net recharge, aquifer media, soil media, topographic slope, hydraulic conductivity and lineament. Using the databases, the DRASTIC system and a GIS, the regional groundwater pollution vulnerability of the study area was assessed. The fracture density extracted from lineament maps was added to the DRASTIC system to take into account the preferential migration of contaminants through fractures. From the results of the study, a degree of groundwater pollution vulnerability through the study area was easily interpreted, and waste disposal sites could be screened for groundwater protection.

One-Way Error Component Regression Model을 활용한 도시지역 수재해 취약성 변화의 실증연구 (A Study on the Changes of Flood Vulnerability in Urban Area Using One-Way Error Component Regression Model)

  • This Study aims to demonstrate how much flood vulnerability in urban area changed for the past 32 years by using the panel model. At the same time, this study strives to determine the primary factors and to construct an effective counter-plan by means of empirical research. After selecting research hypotheses based on considerations of issues concerning causes for urban flooding, their relevance is put to the test by conducting empirical research in individual case locations. This research verifies the four research hypotheses by using one-way error component regression model. In conclusion, this research has shown that urban land use and local characteristics act as significant flood determinants, with forests acting to reduce flood dangers. Moreover, constructing embankments can no longer represent a reliable flood control policy. The changes in future flood control policies need to incorporate local characteristics and to minimize natural destruction, so that humans and nature can coexist through environmentally friendly flood management policies.

지형 요소를 고려한 백두산 지역의 위험도 분석 (Analyzing the Disaster Vulnerability of Mt. Baekdusan Area Using Terrain Factors)

  • 대부분의 급경사지의 붕괴는 지형적으로 불안정한 지역에서 발생한다. 백두산은 전형적인 산악 지역으로 잠재적 폭발 가능성을 지닌 활화산으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 백두산지역의 수치고도모형을 이용하여 지형요소와 선구조선 분석을 통해 재해 위험도를 작성하였다. 취약도 분석에 사용되는 요소는 지형으로부터 산정된 방위도, 경사도, 상부사면기여면적, 접선구배곡률, 윤곽구배 곡률, 습윤지수의 분포를 이용하였다. 더불어 선구조의 선밀도도를 작성하여 재해 위험도를 평가하는데 이용하였다. 지형요소를 이용한 백두산지역의 재해위험도 분석 결과 남쪽 내지 남서부 지역의 재해 위험도가 4-5등급으로 높게 나타나고 있다.

서울시 폭염 취약지역의 공간적 패턴 및 적응능력 취약지역 분석 (An Analysis on the Spatial Patterns of Heat Wave Vulnerable Areas and Adaptive Capacity Vulnerable Areas in Seoul)

  • With more than 10 million inhabitants, in particular, Seoul, the capital of Korea, has already experienced a number of severe heat wave. To alleviate the potential impacts of heat wave and the vulnerability to heat wave, policy-makers have generally considered the option of heat wave strategies containing adaptation elements. From the perspective of sustainable planning for adaptation to heat wave, the objective of this study is to identify the elements of vulnerability and assess heat wave-vulnerability at the dong level. This study also performs an exploratory investigation of the spatial pattern of vulnerable areas in Seoul to heat wave by applying exploratory spatial data analysis. Then this study attempts to select areas with the relatively highest and lowest level of adaptive capacity to heat wave based on an framework of climate change vulnerability assessment. In our analysis, the adaptive capacity is the relatively highest for Seongsan-2-dong in Mapo and the relatively lowest for Changsin-3-dong in Jongno. This study sheds additional light on the spatial patterns of heat wave-vulnerability and the relationship between adaptive capacity and heat wave.

의학계열 대학생의 에이즈에 대한 지식, 태도 및 취약성 인지정도 (Knowledge, Attitudes and Perceived Vulnerability to AIDS of Medical and Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study Is to identify the knowledge, attitudes and perceived vulnerability to AIDS of medical and nursing students. Method: The subject of this study were 324 medical and nursing students in Busan area. Data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Scheffe's test. Result: Total knowledge of AIDS was average. Total attitudes of AIDS was above average. And perceived vulnerability of AIDS was above average. According to the results of analyzing the difference between general characteristics of the subject and AIDS related knowledge, attitudes and perceived vulnerability, a significant difference was present with grade in knowledge score; with sex, grade, department, and health status in attitudes score, with sex, religion, grade, department, education experience to AIDS, and health status in perceived vulnerability to AIDS, There was a significant relationship between attitudes and perceived vulnerability to AIDS. Conclusion: The research findings show that the educational program for preventing AIDS must take into consideration knowledge and epidemic and non-epidemic aspects of AIDS and preventive attitudes toward AIDS, And, it also proves that it is necessary to devise an AIDS educational program for college students.

Evacuation and Sheltering Assistance for Persons with Special Needs at Times of Disaster: Lessons Learned from Typhoon 23, Heavy Rainfall and Earthquake Disasters in the Year 2004

  • A series of heavy rainfall, typhoon and earthquake disasters caused a proportionately large number of deaths among the elderly in the year 2004 in Japan. In response to these tragedies, the national government set up committees to reduce damage within the disaster vulnerable population for the next three years. The discussions in the committee led to a new conceptualization that disaster vulnerability was caused by a lack of interaction between a person's special needs and the environment's capacity and resources to meet them. This person-in-environment model of hazard vulnerability was applied to those who resided in the Nankai-Tonankai tsunami hazard-prone area. 123 home care service users were interviewed in terms of their self-evacuation ability, degree of social isolation, and building weakness as well as tsunami exposure risks. Results were quantified and scores of person-in-environmentmodel hazard vulnerability were obtained. These scores were then used to visualize socially created vulnerability by means of weighted kernel density mapping of both persons with special needs (PSN's) and persons with special needs at times of disaster (PSND's).

Assets, Risks and Vulnerability to Poverty Traps: A Study of Northern Region of Malaysia

  • The Northern States of Malaysia comprises of four states (Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Perak) still record high poverty incidence eventhough Malaysia has experienced a remarkable reduction of poverty over the past century. Economic activities in Perlis and Kedah that are predominantly agriculture in the rural area contribute to this disparity. To add, rural households are also subject to risks and uncertainties that make them more vulnerable to poverty. This study examines the impact of risks and assets on households' vulnerability to poverty. A survey of 400 respondents was conducted in December 2015 in the northern region of Malaysia. From these 400 questionnaires, only 298 were considered valid and used in the analysis. Using a logistic probability function, the results indicated that risks are not a significant threat to households. Gender and strata are crucial elements that significantly determine households' vulnerability. While human capital and financial capital significantly reduce households' vulnerability to poverty, physical and natural capitals were not statistically significant. The study suggests that the government and practitioners design strategies and policies with an assets-based approach. The asset-based approach is more appropriate for linking the causes of poverty to vulnerability.

흐름 경사면의 경사도에 따른 토석류 흐름의 특성 분석 (Analysis of Characteristic of Debris Flow with Angle of Slope)

  • In Korea, there exist many mountains, and sudden storms occur during the summer season. When severe rainstorm events occur in steep slope topography, risk of debris flow is increased. Once debris flow occurs in urban area, it may cause casualties and physical damages due to rapid debris flow velocity along a steep slope. Accordingly, preventing method of sediment-related disaster for demage mitigation are essential. Recently, various studies on debris flow have been conducted. However, the prediction of the physical propagation of debris flow along the steep slope was not thoroughly investigated. Debris flow is characterized by various factors such as topography, properties of debris flow, amount of debris flow. In the study the numerical simulation was focused on the topographic factor. Fundamental analysis of the risk area was implemented with emphasis on the propagation length, thickness, and the development of maximum velocity. The proposed results and the methodology of estimating the structural vulnerability would be helpful in predicting the behavior and the risk assessment of debris flow in urban area. These results will be able to estimate the vulnerability of urban areas affected the most damage by debris flow.

바이너리 정적 분석 기반 Out-of-Bounds Read 취약점 유형 탐지 연구 (A Out-of-Bounds Read Vulnerability Detection Method Based on Binary Static Analysis)

  • 프로그램에서 취약점이 발생하면 그에 대한 정보가 문서화되어 공개된다. 그러나 일부 취약점의 경우 발생한 원인과 그 소스코드를 공개하지 않는다. 이러한 정보가 없는 상황에서 취약점을 찾기 위해서는 바이너리 수준에서 코드를 분석해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 Out-of-bounds Read 취약점 유형을 바이너리 수준에서 찾는 것을 목표로 한다. 바이너리에서 취약점을 탐지하는 기존의 연구는 주로 동적 분석을 이용한 도구로 발표되었다. 동적 분석의 경우 프로그램 실행 정보를 바탕으로 취약점을 정확하게 탐지할 수 있지만, 모든 실행 경로를 탐지하지 못할 가능성이 있다. 모든 프로그램 경로를 분석하기 위해서는 정적 분석을 사용해야 한다. 기존의 정적 도구의 경우 소스코드 기반의 도구들이며, 바이너리에 수준의 정적 도구는 찾기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 바이너리 정적 분석을 통해 취약점을 탐지하며, 메모리 구조를 모델링하는 방법으로 Heap, Stack, Global 영역의 취약점을 탐지한다. 실험 결과 기존의 탐지도구인 BAP_toolkit과 비교하였을 때 탐지 정확도 및 분석 시간에서 의미 있는 결과를 얻었다.
