새도우마스크 제조공정 중 발생되는 폐액으로부터 니켈 페라이트 나노 분말 제조 (Fabrication of Nano-Sized Ni-ferrite Powder from Waste Solution Produced by Shadow Mask Processing)

  • Nano-sized Ni-ferrite powder was fabricated by spray pyrolysis process using the waste solution resulting from shadow mask processing. The average particle size of the powder was below 100 nm. The effects of the concentration of raw material solution, the nozzle tip size and air pressure on the properties of powder were studied. As the concentration increased, the average particle size of the powder gradually increased and its specific surface area decreased, but size distribution was much wider and the fraction of the Ni-ferrite phase greatly increased as the concentration increasing. As the nozzle tip size increased from 1 mm to 2 mm, the average particle size of the powder decreased. In case of 3 mm nozzle tip size, the average particle size of the powder increased slightly. On the other hand, in case of 5 mm nozzle tip size, average particle size of the powder decreased. Size distribution of the powder was unhomogeneous, and the fraction of the Ni-ferrite phase decreased as the nozzle tip size increasing. As air pressure increased up to 1 kg/$cm^2$, the average particle size of the powder decreased slightly, on the other hand, the fraction of the Ni-ferrite phase was almost constant. In case of 3kg/$cm^2$ air pressure, average particle size of the powder and the fraction of the Ni-ferrite phase remarkably decreased, but size distribution was narrow.

  • Methanol extract and its fraction of traditional fermented soybean paste(doenjang) from Soonchang area were studied for growth suppression on the various tumor cells and suppression components, by using HPLC and GC were analysed. Hexane fraction of methanol extract was indicated 79%, 76%, 67%, 66%, 78% of growth suppression on L1210, P338D1, HepG2, WiDr and SNU 1 tumor cells, respectively. Ethylacetate fraction of methanol extract also showed 81%, 75%, 75%, 76% and 82% of growth suppression on the same tumor cells, respectively. Peak 8 obtained from HPLC of ethylacetate fraction indicated 81%, 77%, 77%, 75% and 79% of growth suppression on the same tumor cells and identified as a genistein, by comparing with standard one by HPLC analysis. Hexane fraction of methanol extract contained oleic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid.

Processing and mechanical property evaluation of maize fiber reinforced green composites

  • Green composites composed of long maize fibers and poly $\varepsilon$-caprolactone (PCL) biodegradable polyester matrix were manufactured by the thermo-mechanical processing termed as 'Sequential Molding and Forming Process' that was developed previously by the authors' research group. A variety of processing parameters such as fiber area fraction, molding temperature and forming pressure were systematically controlled and their influence on the tensile properties was investigated. It was revealed that both tensile strength and elastic modulus of the composites increase steadily depending on the increase in fiber area fraction, suggesting a general conformity to the rule of mixtures (ROM), particularly up to 55% fiber area fraction. The improvement in tensile properties was found to be closely related to the good interfacial adhesion between the fiber and polymer matrix, and was observed to be more pronounced under the optimum processing condition of $130^{\circ}C$ molding temperature and 10 MPa forming pressure. However, processing out of the optimum condition results in a deterioration in properties, mostly fiber and/or matrix degradation together with their interfacial defect as a consequence of the thermal or mechanical damages. On the basis of microstructural observation, the cause of strength degradation and its countermeasure to provide a feasible composite design are discussed in relation to the optimized process conditions.

Effect of simulated double cycle welding on HAZ microstructure for HSLA steels

  • High Strength low alloy steels containing various levels of C, Nb and Mn were used and for each of which, a simulated double thermal cycle was applied with the same first peak temperature and different second peak temperatures to produce HAZ microstructure corresponding to multi-pass weld. Effect of double cycle second temperature on the microstructure was observed and compared with single cycle results obtained from previous works, it was found that the percentage of martensite austenite constituent (MA) increases by Nb addition for all steels with the same Mn content and the increase in Mn content at the same Nb content shows an increase in MA area fraction as well. MA area fraction obtained for the double cycle is larger than that obtained for the single cycle for all steels used which imply that MA will have great role in the brittle fracture initiation for double cycle and the inter-pass temperature should be controlled for medium and high-carbon Mn steel to avoid large area fraction of MA. The beneficial effects of Niobium obtained in single pass weld were not observed for the double cycle or multi pass welds.

  • Surface roughness plays a significant role in friction, wear, and lubrication in machine components. Most engineering surfaces have the nongaussian distrubution. So, in this study, contact simulation are conducted for not only gaussian surfaces but also nongaussian surfaces. Nongaussian rough surface censidering the kurtosis is generated numerically, And the effects of kurtosis on real contact area fraction, average gap, and mean asperity contact pressure are studied. It will be shown that the real contact area fraction and the mean asperity contact pressure are sensitive to the characteristics of surface geometry according to kurtosis.

  • This paper was carried out desertification area change detection from 1980s to 2000s per unit decade using by multitemporal satellite images (Landsat MSS, TM, ETM+). This study aims to use Spectral Mixture Analysis (SMA) to identify and classify study area. Endmembers is selected bare soil, green vegetation (GV), water body using by Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF). Endmembers used to generate increase and decrease images respective from 1980s to 1990s and from 1990s to 2000s. From the analysis of multitemporal change detection for three periods, it was apparent that the area of bare soil increased significantly, with simultaneous decrease of GV and water body. The multitemporal fraction images can be effectively used for change detection. Though there is no field survey dataset, SMA is reliable result of change detection in desertification in China.

연속추출법을 이용한 사격장 오염토양 중 중금속의 화학적 형태 결정 (The Determination of Chemical Forms of Heavy Metals in Shooting Area Contaminated Soil Using Sequential Extraction Method)

  • The soil sample obtained from shooting area contaminated with Pb, Cu, and Zn was investigated to determine the chemical forms of heavy metals with Tessier’s sequential extraction method, which is constituted of five fractions such as ‘exchangeable’, ‘bound to carbonate’, ‘bound to oxide’, ‘bound to organic matter’, and residual fractions. The amount of organic matter was measured by loss on ignition (LOI) and then the results of ‘bound to organic matter’ and LOI were compared. The sequential extraction results show that 4.7%-45% of Pb, 6.2%-25.9% of Cu and 3.9%-15.3% of Zn belong to the ‘bound to organic matter’ fraction, but LOI result shows that only 1.0%-2.8% of organic matter exists in the soil sample. In heavy medium separation tests, because Pb and Cu extracted in ‘bound to organic matter’ and residual fractions were removed, the heavy metals in the fractions would exist as heavier forms. These results suggest that the part of heavy metal extracted in ‘bound to organic matter’ fraction would result from the oxidation of metallic forms by hydrogen peroxide and nitric acid used in the fraction, and, consequently, that the ‘bound to organic matter’ fraction should be investigated in detail to determine the removal method and treatment capacity when the Tessier’s sequential extraction method is used to examine heavy metal contaminants resulted from elemental metal like bullets.

팜중부유를 이용한 대칭형 Palmitoyl-Oleoyl-Stearoyl Triacylglycerol의 효소적 합성 반응 연구 (A Study of the Enzymatic Interesterification Reaction for Producing Palmitoyl-Oleoyl-Stearoyl Triacylglycerol from the Palm Mid Fraction)

  • 본 연구에서는 palm mid fraction(PMF)와 stearic ethyl ester를 기질로 Lipozyme TLIM을 이용한 에스테르 교환반응을 실시하였으며 기질의 몰 비율과 효소양 및 시간에 따른 TAG 조성 변화와 함께 POS 구성율 및 acyl migration 정도를 알아보았다. sn-2 위치에서의 주요 지방산 조성 변화는 몰 비율과 효소양, 반응시간이 증가할수록 C18:1은 점차 감소하였고, C16:0과 C18:0은 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 변화는 특히 반응시간이 증가함에 따라 두드러지게 나타났으며 acyl migration 생성과 관계가 깊은 것으로 예측되었다. 그 결과 총 포화지방산의 함량은 최고 37.4 area%까지 증가한 수치를 보였다. 반응 합성물의 주요 TAG 조성으로는 POP, POS, SOS와 같은 대칭형 구조의 TAG가 확인되었으며 반응이 진행됨에 따라 POP는 감소하고 POS가 증가하는 경향을 보였다. Acyl migration과 POS 함량을 고려하였을 때 몰 비율 1:2, 효소양 3 wt%, 5시간 반응 조건에서 POS는 53.5 area%의 높은 함량을 보였으며 이때 총 포화지방산함량은 반응 전 11.9 area%와 비교하여 약 2배 증가한 23.1 area%를 나타내었다. 한편, 전체 반응 조건 중 가장 높은 POS 함량은 55.4 area%의 수치를 보였는데, 이후 몰 비율과 효소양의 증가와 더불어 반응시간이 지속되었음에도 불구하고 POS는 오히려 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 반응이 진행되면서 acyl migration에 의해 sn-2 위치에 palmitic acid와 stearic acid가 전이된 PPS, PSS, SSS와 같은 TAG의 생성도 증가함을 알 수 있었다.

인천항 시험돔 내부의 먼지제어특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Dust Control Characteristics inside a Test Dome in the Port of Inchon)

  • This study focuses on the investigation of the effects of windspeed and particle size on the dust control characteristics inside a test dome built in the Port of Inchon to reduce the fugitive dust originating from the handling of animal feed stuff in the open pile area. The flow field inside the test dome and the trajectories of the particles were calculated using a commercial CFD code, FLUENT, assuming that the animal feed stuff handling activity took place inside the test dome. It was found from the simulation results that high windspeed and small particle size give rise to the increase in both the escaped fraction and the suspended fraction of the particles emitted from the animal feed stuff handing activity. Here, high escaped fraction represents the high possibility of fugitive dust problem outside the test dome, whereas high suspended fraction means the high possibility of severe dust pollution inside the test dome. Ore simulation results clearly show that the existing test dome was not designed properly to meet the proposed goal, low escaped fraction and low suspended fraction. Hence, we suggest the need of an efficient ventilation system inside the dome to control the dust.

바이오가스로부터 온실가스 메탄 회수를 위한 3단 분리막 공정 모사 (Simulation on Recovery of Methane Greenhouse Gas from Biogas Using 3 Stage Membrane Modules)

  • 메탄은 중요한 온실가스 중의 하나이며, 바이오가스의 주 성분이다. 이러한 바이오가스로부터 메탄의 몰분율 농도를 0.95 이상으로 회수하기 위하여 폴리설폰 중공사 분리막 모듈을 3단으로 연결하여 회수율을 99% 이상으로 얻을 수 있도록 공정을 설계하고 전산 모사하였다. 수치 해석 시 이산화탄소 투과도와 선택도를 이산화탄소의 부분증기압 함수로 나타내어 전산 모사를 수행하여 정확도를 높이고자 하였다. 공급 기체 압력, 공급 기체 내 메탄 농도, 그리고 분리막 모듈 내 분리막 면적이 클수록, 생성물 내 메탄 몰분율 농도가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 생성물 내 메탄 몰분율 농도를 0.95 이상, 동시에 메탄 회수율을 99% 이상 얻기 위해서는 분리막 모듈의 분리막 면적을 적절히 선택하여야 하며, 선정된 분리막 모듈을 다단 공정으로 구성함에도 불구하고 공급 기체 압력, 공급 기체 유속, 그리고 공급 기체 메탄 농도를 제한적 범위 내에서 조절하여야 함을 알 수 있었다.
