항공 하이퍼스펙트럴 영상의 대기보정 효과 분석 및 토지피복 분류 (Atmospheric Correction Effectiveness Analysis and Land Cover Classification Using Airborne Hyperspectral Imagery)

  • 하이퍼스펙트럴 영상을 이용하여 토지피복 분류를 정확히 수행하기 위해서는 전처리 작업으로서 대기보정을 거쳐야 한다. 항공 하이퍼스펙트럴 영상에 대하여 대기보정을 실시하고 대기보정 유 무에 따른 해수, 갯벌, 식생, 아스팔트, 콘크리트 등의 토지피복 항목별 분광반사율 특성을 비교하여 대기보정의 뚜렷한 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. 대기보정 후의 영상에 대하여 최대우도법, 분광각맵퍼법 등의 화소기반 감독분류기법으로 각각 토지피복 분류를 행하고 그 결과를 비교하였다. 분광각맵퍼법의 경우 임계각 $0.4^{\circ}$에서 노이즈를 최소화하면서 해수영역을 가장 양호하게 분류해 낼 수 있었다. 같은 개체라도 다양한 분광특성을 나타내는 하이퍼스펙트럴 영상의 경우 연안지역에서는 종래의 화소기반 분류기법보다는 축척, 분광 정보, 형태, 결 등을 종합적으로 고려하는 객체기반 분류기법이 더 우월할 것으로 사료된다.

Classifying Social Media Users' Stance: Exploring Diverse Feature Sets Using Machine Learning Algorithms

  • The use of the social media has become part of our daily life activities. The social web channels provide the content generation facility to its users who can share their views, opinions and experiences towards certain topics. The researchers are using the social media content for various research areas. Sentiment analysis, one of the most active research areas in last decade, is the process to extract reviews, opinions and sentiments of people. Sentiment analysis is applied in diverse sub-areas such as subjectivity analysis, polarity detection, and emotion detection. Stance classification has emerged as a new and interesting research area as it aims to determine whether the content writer is in favor, against or neutral towards the target topic or issue. Stance classification is significant as it has many research applications like rumor stance classifications, stance classification towards public forums, claim stance classification, neural attention stance classification, online debate stance classification, dialogic properties stance classification etc. This research study explores different feature sets such as lexical, sentiment-specific, dialog-based which have been extracted using the standard datasets in the relevant area. Supervised learning approaches of generative algorithms such as Naïve Bayes and discriminative machine learning algorithms such as Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree and k-Nearest Neighbor have been applied and then ensemble-based algorithms like Random Forest and AdaBoost have been applied. The empirical based results have been evaluated using the standard performance measures of Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F-measures.

공개된 토지피복도를 활용한 위성영상 분류 (Image Classification for Military Application using Public Landcover Map)

  • Landcover information of access-denied area was extracted from low-medium and high resolution satellite image. Training for supervised classification was performed to refer visually by landcover map which is made and distributed from The Ministry of Environment. The classification result was compared by relating data of FACC land classification system. As we rasterize digital military map with same pixel size of satellite classification, the accuracy test was performed by image to image method. In vegetation case, ancillary data such as NDVI and image for seasons are going to improve accuracy. FACC code of FDB need to recognize the properties which can be automated.

위성영상의 토지정보 분석정확도 향상을 위한 응용체계의 개발 - 다중시기 영상과 주성분분석 및 정준상관분류 알고리즘을 이용하여 - (Development of a Compound Classification Process for Improving the Correctness of Land Information Analysis in Satellite Imagery - Using Principal Component Analysis, Canonical Correlation Classification Algorithm and Multitemporal Imagery -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 위성영상으로부터 보다 정확한 토지정보를 취득하기 위해 다중시기데이터의 혼합과 특정 영상강조기법 및 영상분류알고리즘을 병합하여 적용하는 응용분류체계의 개발이다. 즉, 본 연구에서는 혼합된 다중시기데이터를 주성분분석한 후 정준상관분류기법을 적용하는 분류과정을 제안한다. 이 분류과정의 결과를 단일영상별 정준상관분류결과, 다중시기혼합영상의 정준상관분류결과, 시기별 주성분분석 후 정준상관분류결과와 비교한다. 사용된 위성영상은 1994년 7월 26일과 1996년 9월 1일에 취득된 Landsat 5 TM 영상이다. 정확도평가를 위한 지상실제데이터는 지형도 및 항공사진으로부터 취득되었으며, 연구대상영역 전체가 정확도평가 대상으로 사용되었다. 제안된 응용분류체계는 단일영상만을 사용하여 정준상관분류를 수행한 경우보다 분류정확도면에서 약 8.2% 상승되는 우수한 효과를 보여주었다. 특히, 복잡한 토지특성이 혼합되어 있는 도시역을 정확히 분류하는데 유효하였다. 결론적으로 Landsat TM 영상을 사용한 토지피복정보 추출시 분류정확도를 높이기 위해서, 다중시기영상을 사전에 주성분분석 후 정준상관분류기법을 적용하면 매우 효과적임을 확인하였다.

Customer Level Classification Model Using Ordinal Multiclass Support Vector Machines

  • Conventional Support Vector Machines (SVMs) have been utilized as classifiers for binary classification problems. However, certain real world problems, including corporate bond rating, cannot be addressed by binary classifiers because these are multi-class problems. For this reason, numerous studies have attempted to transform the original SVM into a multiclass classifier. These studies, however, have only considered nominal classification problems. Thus, these approaches have been limited by the existence of multiclass classification problems where classes are not nominal but ordinal in real world, such as corporate bond rating and multiclass customer classification. In this study, we adopt a novel multiclass SVM which can address ordinal classification problems using ordinal pairwise partitioning (OPP). The proposed model in our study may use fewer classifiers, but it classifies more accurately because it considers the characteristics of the order of the classes. Although it can be applied to all kinds of ordinal multiclass classification problems, most prior studies have applied it to finance area like bond rating. Thus, this study applies it to a real world customer level classification case for implementing customer relationship management. The result shows that the ordinal multiclass SVM model may also be effective for customer level classification.

경관단위분류를 통한 경관가치평가 및 경관계획적 활용 (Landscape Assessment and Landscape Planning based on Landscapetope Classification)

  • This study selected Nakdong River basin zone in Daegu as an example area to conduct landscapetope classification and aesthetic value assessment of landscape according to the classified landscapetope. The main result of this research can be summed up as following. First, the result of landscapetope type classification showed 28 types of landscapetope including complex residential area (AA), natural stream type with copious vegetation (BA), forest type centered on mixed forest of soft and hardwood (EB) along with 129 types of imputed specific landscapetope. The result of the total first assessment using B-VAT showed the first grade 10 types, II grade 4 types, III grade6 types, IV grade 3 types, 5 types for V grade with the lowest value. The second assessment conducted toward the landscapetope types with the grade higher than the average (including III grade) in the result of the first assessment showed that there are 66 spaces for the sites (1a, 1b) with special meaning for aesthetic landscape evaluation. And also, there were 69 spaces for those (2a, 2b, 2c) with meaning for aesthetic landscape evaluation. The design model of this research is largely divided into improvement goal and specific execution plan. First, the improvement goal is divided into 6 categories including conservation area, complementary area, and restoration area, and the specific execution plan is divided into 14 categories including special landscape management area, general landscape management area, conservation of hill areas with optically good condition. A comprehensive master plan was suggested by directly applying the set landscape planning model to the subject place of this research.

산지 경계 추출을 위한 지형학적 변수 선정과 알고리즘 개발 (A Study on the Development of Topographical Variables and Algorithm for Mountain Classification)

  • In Korea, 64% of the land is known as mountain area, but the definition and classification standard of mountain are not clear. Demand for utilization and development of mountain area is increasing. In this situation, the unclear definition and scope of the mountain area can lead to the destruction of the mountain and the increase of disasters due to indiscreet permission of forestland use conversion. Therefore, this study analyzed the variables and criteria that can extract the mountain boundaries through the questionnaire survey and the terrain analysis. We developed a mountain boundary extraction algorithm that can classify topographic mountain by using selected variables. As a result, 72.1% of the total land was analyzed as mountain area. For the three catchment areas with different mountain area ratio, we compared the results with the existing data such as forestland map and cadastral map. We confirmed the differences in boundary and distribution of mountain. In a catchment area with predominantly mountainous area, the algorithmbased mountain classification results were judged to be wider than the mountain or forest of the two maps. On the other hand, in the basin where the non-mountainous region predominated, algorithm-based results yielded a lower mountain area ratio than the other two maps. In the two maps, we was able to confirm the distribution of fragmented mountains. However, these areas were classified as non-mountain areas in algorithm-based results. We concluded that this result occurred because of the algorithm, so it is necessary to refine and elaborate the algorithm afterward. Nevertheless, this algorithm can analyze the topographic variables and the optimal value by watershed that can distinguish the mountain area. The results of this study are significant in that the mountain boundaries were extracted considering the characteristics of different mountain topography by region. This study will help establish policies for stable mountain management.

  • As a rational decision-making process of county-level area development, this study designed 3-step framework : function-giving(areal analysis) on unit planning area by decision matrix of land suitability, check of typical characteristics of each function area and formulation of its future development strategies. Two alternatives were suggested as the areal analysis method, of which one is equal ordering / valuing technique of checking indices for land suitability classfication and the other preferential weighting technique. And then, under the algorithm specially defined in this study, land suitability maps(Fig.2,3) of the case study area (Seungju-county area, Chonnam-province, Korea) were drawn from the areal analysis results. By use of land suitability classification results, unique characteristics of typical function areas were defined (on 7 types of alternative 1 , 8 types of II ) and their future development strategies were formulated in the case study area, According to the categorization criteria in this study, all the villages of the case area were classfied as a suitable type of function areas illustrated in this study.

Solar Flare Rate and Probability depending on Sunspot Classification and Its Area Change

  • We have investigated solar flare probability depending on sunspot classification, its area, and its area change using solar white light data. For this we used the McIntosh sunspot groups with most flare-productive regions : DKI, DKC, EKI, EKC, FKI and FKC. For each group, we classified it into three sub-groups according to sunspot area change : increase, steady, and decrease. For sunspot data, we used the NOAA active region information for 11 years (from January 2000 to December 2010): daily sunspot class and its area corrected for the projection effect. As a result, we find that the mean flare rates and the flare probabilities for the "increase" sub-groups are noticeably higher than those for other sub-groups. In case of the (M+X)-class flares of 'kc' groups, the mean flare rates of the "increase" sub-groups are more than two times than those of the "steady" sub-groups. This is statistical evidence that magnetic flux emergence is an very important for triggering solar flares since sunspot area increase can be a good proxy of magnetic flux emergence. In addition, we have examined the relationship between sunspot area and solar flare probability. For this, we classified each sunspot group into two sub-groups: large and small. In the case of compact group, the solar flare probabilities noticeably increase with its area.

도심복합시설의 공간용도구성 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Space Composition Characteristics in the Urban Complex Building)

  • The city means not only a geographical area as a role of the spatial boundary, but also a socio-economic place to communicate with each area. It requires various functions to get the income and economic-activities. But city has a limitation of a available land to provide the required functions and a sufficient space to supply the urban activity. Therefore, the development trend of city has not been to spread to the horizontal area any more and considered the vertical area. In addition, various functions put into a massive building because many people want to solve the daily requirements without spending time and cost in outer area. In this paper, it aimed at classifying the mixed-use building into function, circulation, relation according to the public and private space and the building shape to provide the design information such as land area, functional complex, accessibility, etc.. The classification of the mixed-use buildings is divided into four areas. The data are collected with foreign countries in Japan, Europe and US. Results of the study are as follows; First, the commercial function is mainly centered with other functions. Second, after studied the development scale, accessibility, building form, the commercial and residential area overwhelmly share at the total area.
