This study aims to analyze the features and problems of the Korea's national records archiving system established in 1999, as well as to suggest the countermeasures. First, in Korea, permanent records are archived by the administration, legislature and judicature separately. However, around the world there are very few cases where a national archives controls the records of the administration alone, whereupon there is the need to set up an integrated archiving system regarding the records of the administration, legislature and judicature. Second, in Korea, the records archiving system leans too much towards the centrally-controlled system, which is urgent to be solved. 'Record Management Act' stipulates that all the public records, including nonpermanent ones, shall be managed by National Archives, wherewith National Archives is overburdened. Hereat, it may be desirable for National Archives to manage very important records that deserve to be archived permanently and for Record Center to archive other records, which needs to be made into law.

Sensor data have the characteristics such as numerous and continuous data. Therefore, it is required to develop an index which could retrieve a specific sensor data efficiently from numerous sensed data. The index should have an efficient delete operation for the past data to support the data archiving. In this paper, we have proposed and implemented an index splitting technique to support the sensor data archiving. These splitted indexes compose of a virtual index (that is, index management component), which is shown as single tree from outside. Experimental results show that in the case of 100,000 insert operations the splitted index performs 8% better than the traditional TB-tree maximumly. And the splitted index outperforms TB-tree with retrieving queries when the region of query is small and the size of time domain is large.

Today, most researchers conduct their studies through the full-text of e-journals. Therefore, an important base for domestic development of science and technology is to obtain the full-text of quality e-journals by overseas researchers and to provide it to Korea's researchers. This study aims to build a system based on the National Archiving Center for the full-text of e-journals and to make a service system for providing them to the public by acquiring the full-text of quality overseas e-journals. To do this, an analysis was made of the outcome of introducing such a system for full-text of e-journals in comparison with the investment. As a result, 112 more institutions, that is, from 47 institutions to 159 institutions, have introduced the system as of 2012, and the number of downloaded full-texts increased at least 2.17 times.

The New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST) is a 1-meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe the fine structures of active regions on the Sun. The main tasks of the NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including the measurements of the solar magnetic field. The NVST has been collecting more than 20 million FITS files since it began routine observations in 2012 and produces maximum observational records of 120 thousand files in a day. Given the large amount of files, the effective archiving and retrieval of files becomes a critical and urgent problem. In this study, we implement a new data archiving system for the NVST based on the Fastbit Not Only Structured Query Language (NoSQL) database. Comparing to the relational database (i.e., MySQL; My Structured Query Language), the Fastbit database manifests distinctive advantages on indexing and querying performance. In a large scale database of 40 million records, the multi-field combined query response time of Fastbit database is about 15 times faster and fully meets the requirements of the NVST. Our slestudy brings a new idea for massive astronomical data archiving and would contribute to the design of data management systems for other astronomical telescopes.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze and compare the existing digital media asset management systems and develop a prospective implementation model. As a result of conducting this research, it is recommended that the prospective system consist of archiving server, processing server, and interface program. This result suggests important starting point for development a resonable and reliable implementation model for digital media asset management system.

이메일은 모바일 기기의 발달과 SNS의 확산에도 불구하고 전 세계의 기업에게 가장 중요한 통신 및 업무수단으로 여전히 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 이메일의 사용 증가로 인해 보안 및 보관 문제가 발생하였으며, 모든 이메일을 수년에 걸쳐 보관할 의무를 지는 기업이 점점 늘어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 의미추론규칙을 이용하여 온톨로지 기반의 이메일 아카이빙 시스템에 대해 제안한다.

This article delves into community archives based on the archival project of Dongjak-gu Public Library on the search toward sustainability. Dongjak-gu has conducted a local archiving project that involves collecting local records, focusing on the role of local public institutions as representative districts in the local region after the library was established in September 2013. Thus far, we are managing the project and records that are piled at the public library, and as the placement for archiving local records conducted in a local public library does not match its role, the national/city/province system for archiving local records faces a challenge for long-term sustainability. Therefore, we would like to present an idea for sustainability by discussing our concerns and experiences in this paper.

ERP system is a good one because it provides required data to the Board of Directors at the right time, but needs to collect many data in this system. Nevertheless, increase in data leads to the system's quality deterioration which makes companies to carry out quality improvement. In order to solve quality deterioration problem, a company's quality improvement director must execute under acknowledgement of the relationships between sectors to be improved, which are DBMS, Application, System, Data Management, Archiving, and Reorganization. But in many cases, these relationships are ignored due to massive size of each of the sectors, resulting fragmental quality improvement operation. This case paper proposes a solution to effectively solve quality deterioration problem created by the massive data produced while operating ERP System(constructed by SAP package and web). First, it defines the sectors where quality improvements are vital, and lists out things to be considered. Then, by analysing the working process of these sectors, proposes the most efficient order of the improvement process. This case will eventually help the company's quality improvement director to execute quality improvement most effectively without trials and errors, which is this paper's ultimate goal.

This study is to develope the structures and the elements of the metadata for harvesting, management and preservation of a valuable web resources in the web archiving. For this study, we investigated the available metadata in the web archiving and surveyed the requirements of web archiving process. And we analyzed the characteristics of web resources. Also, this study was used a based on the ISO 14721 OAIS Reference Model. Finally, to share the metadata elements among the web archiving system, this study considered the interoperability for the exchange of the metadata. Based on the result, this study designed four structures of the metadata and defined the 28 core metadata elements for the web archiving.

This study extracted quality control factors for invigorating Institutional Repository operations, and re-extracted key quality control factors with significant influence among them. Furthermore, this study developed an operating model reflecting an improvement scheme of these key quality control factors, and estimated how much effective the operating model was to the user. As a result of inspecting satisfaction for IR operating model and the general system, it has been found that librarians' satisfaction for them is higher than that of the general user. Korea's universities prefer a proxy submission mode by librarians to a self-archiving submission mode by writers. Therefore, based on the operation model developed by this study, it is suggested that Institutional Repository operation can be actively invigorated with librarians of these universities as central players.
