We present a GUI-based interactive Python program, VIMAP, which generates radio spectral index maps of active galactic nuclei (AGN) from Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) maps obtained at different frequencies. VIMAP is a handy tool for the spectral analysis of synchrotron emission from AGN jets, specifically of spectral index distributions, turn-over frequencies, and core-shifts. In general, the required accurate image alignment is difficult to achieve because of a loss of absolute spatial coordinate information during VLBI data reduction (self-calibration) and/or intrinsic variations of source structure as function of frequency. These issues are overcome by VIMAP which in turn is based on the two-dimensional cross-correlation algorithm of Croke & Gabuzda (2008). In this paper, we briefly review the problem of aligning VLBI AGN maps, describe the workflow of VIMAP, and present an analysis of archival VLBI maps of the active nucleus 3C 120.

This paper introduces the different Southeast Asian Studies academic programs of three universities in northeast Asia namely: Peking University (China); Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (Japan); and Busan University of Foreign Studies (Korea). This study mainly focuses on the Philippines as part of Southeast Asian studies program in the said universities. The researcher utilized archival work related to the Southeast Asian studies programs of each university. The study also examined the curriculum of the program, background of faculty, and motivations of students in studying Southeast Asian studies by conducting interviews and surveys. Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) Analysis was employed by the researcher in analyzing the data from the different universities. Finally, in mapping out the teaching of Filipino language and Philippine-related subjects, this paper argued that Northeast Asian universities established a Southeast Asian Studies focused on Philippines because of various socio-economic-political factors, and not only because of the Filipino diaspora in the region.

Globular clusters(GCs) are found not only around galaxies (galaxy GCs), but also between galaxies in galaxy clusters (intracluster GCs; ICGCs). The ICGCs, which are not bound to any of cluster member galaxies, are governed by the galaxy clutster potential. ICGCs have been detected in the wide field of Virgo and Fornax galaxy clusters. However, previous surveys covered only a small fraction of Coma and Perseus. In this study we present a wide field survey of these two galaxy clusters, using Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam(HSC) archival images, covering a circular field with diameter of ~1.8 deg. We select ICGC candidates, by masking the images of bright galaxies and choosing point sources in the remaining area. We find thousands of ICGCs in each galaxy cluster. These ICGCs show a bimodal color distribution, which is dominated by blue GCs. We investigate spatial distributions and radial number density profiles of the blue and red ICGCs in each galaxy cluster. Implications of the results will be discussed.

Star formation in galaxies is one of the key factors in galaxy evolution. It is believed that star formation is triggered and enhanced by mergers among galaxies or secular evolution. However, how much these two mechanisms contribute on star formation is not well known yet. Recently, many other studies show observational evidences of faint merger features(tidal tails, stellar streams) around nearby galaxies with deep optical imaging. This study aims to investigate the fraction of star forming galaxies exhibiting faint features to total galaxies. We are analyzing samples of 76 star forming galaxies (NUV < -18) to find merger features from stacked B, R band frames taken at Maidanak 1.5m, McDonald 2.1m telescope and g, r frames from Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) MegaCam archival data. With the fraction, we can expect to know the contribution of mergers on star formation to galaxies.

'일상생활과 기록'이라는 이름으로 기록실험을 수행했다. 일상에서 사람들 간에 교류와 협력을 증진시키는 데에 효과가 있는 아카이브가 가능하다면 그것은 어떤 계열의 아카이브일 수 있을까, 어떻게 해야 일상생활에 간편하게 자리를 잡을 수 있을까 하는 것이 목적이었다. 그것은 미시적이고 일상적인 기록세계에 대한 탐구였다. 100명의 20대 대학생들과 4개월 동안(2019.9~12) 시행착오를 반복했다. 따로 실험실을 차린 것은 아니었다. 대학에서 정규적으로 개설하는 교과시간을 활용했다. 대학 제도에서 강제되는 권력적 통제가 있었던 것은 사실이지만, 줄거리는 햇볕정책이었다. 인간에게는 자발적이고 긍정적인 태도가 있다. 누구라도 이런 태도를 취하기 시작하면 그 행동을 막기는 쉽지 않다. 정서적 지원을 통해 자발성이 싹트기를 노력했다. 실험은 당연한 것들에 의문을 품고 새로운 것을 찾아보는 시도이다. 멀리서보면 아카이브와 거리가 있어 보일지도 모르겠다. 그러나 직업적 아키비스트의 한 사람으로 기록학적 원리로 통제하면서 수행한 기록시간이었다. 이야기 형식으로 정리해 기록학적 함의를 살펴본다.

이 연구의 목적은 현재까지 진행된 마을기록활동가 양성 교육 프로그램(이하 "교육 프로그램")의 현황을 파악하고, 이를 개선하기 위한 운영 방안으로 역량 기반의 교육 프로그램운영 모형을 제안하는 것이다. 교육 프로그램의 수가 꾸준히 증가함에 따라 프로그램을 활성화하고 운영을 체계화할 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 프로그램의 목표를 달성하기 위한 내용과 마을기록활동가의 역량, 교육 프로그램과 기록활동의 지속성에 초점을 맞추고자 하였다. 이를 위해 국내외 문헌을 통해 마을기록활동가의 의미와 역할을 알아보고, 2015년부터 2023년까지의 교육 프로그램 진행 현황을 파악하였으며, 문헌연구와 사례 연구의 시사점을 프로그램의 교육자 면담을 통해 검증하였다. 면담의 시사점은 목표별 프로그램 운영 방안, 마을기록활동가의 역량, 발전 방안으로 정리하여 운영모형에 반영하였다. 역량 기반 교육 프로그램 운영 모형은 모형의 구조, 설계 원칙, 목표별교육 과정 모듈, 교육 프로그램 운영 단계별 고려 사항으로 제안하였다.

기록물 보존의 궁극적인 목적은 기록물의 이용이라 여겨져 왔고, 기록정보서비스는 기록관리 업무 중 핵심 업무라 할 수 있다. 특히, 우리나라의 경우 기록물관리기관과 기록관리에 대한 인식이 부족하기 때문에, 일반 대중들에게 기록물관리기관과 기록관리 업무 및 소장 기록물의 중요성을 알려 인식을 바꾸고 새로운 이용을 창출해야 한다. 잠재적 이용자에게 적극적으로 기록관리를 홍보하기 위해 영구기록물관리기관에서는 출판, 전시, 교육 프로그램을 이용할 수 있다. 외국의 경우 기록물관리기관에서 공공프로그램(Public Program), 아웃리치 서비스(Outreach Service)를 이용하여 적극적으로 일반대중에게 영구기록물관리기관을 알리기 위한 서비스를 하고 있으며, 특히, 교육 프로그램을 통해 기록물관리기관이 가진 기록물을 이용할 수 있도록 다양하게 지원하고 있다. 또한 출판 및 전시 프로그램을 통해서도 기록물 이용을 늘리고, 기록문화를 확대해 나가고 있다. 우리나라에서도 영구기록물관리기관의 역할이 확대되고 지방 기록관리기관의 설립이 의무화되면서 이제 영구기록물관리기관이 행정기관의 역할을 넘어, 다양한 정보를 제공하고 교육이 이루어지는 문화 교육 기관이 될 수 있도록 해야 한다. 공공 프로그램을 통해 기록물이 가진 다양하고 중요한 가치를 알게 하고 다양한 중요 기록물이 활발히 이용될 수 있도록 새로운 수요를 창출해서 영구기록물관리기관의 존립의 기반을 다지도록 방법을 모색해야 할 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 해외의 공공프로그램 사례를 통해 우리나라의 실정에 맞는 공공프로그램의 운영방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 더해서 프로그램 기획자로써 아키비스트에게 요구되는 능력 및 영구기록물관리기관의 역할을 모색해 궁극적으로 기록물 이용을 늘리고 기록문화를 정착하는데 기여하고자 한다.

본 연구는 국가기록원의 어린이 교육 프로그램의 활성화를 위한 개선방향을 도출한 것이다. 이를 위해 어린이 교육 프로그램을 활발하게 실시하고 있는 국내외 사례를 조사하고, 시사점 분석을 통해 국가기록원에 적용 가능한 정책, 조직 인력, 프로그램 분야별 개선방안을 제시하였다. 정책 분야에 있어서는 어린이 교육 프로그램의 정책적 명문화를 제안하였고, 조직 인력 분야에 있어서는 전담조직 및 직원의 배치를, 프로그램에 있어서는 다른 문화기관과 차별화된 교육 프로그램의 제공을 제시하였다.

We investigate the disk-jet connection of Young Radio Galaxies (YRGs) by comparing emission-line properties with radio luminosity and jet size. By combining new optical spectra for 21 objects with SDSS archival data for 15 objects, we selected a sample of 36 low-redshift YRGs at z < 0.4. We find that YRGs are classified in high- and low-excitation galaxies based on the relative strength of high-to-low excitation line strengths, suggesting that there are two populations in YRGs as similarly found in large radio galaxies, i.e., FRIs and FRIIs. High-excitation galaxies (HEGs) have higher emission line luminosities than low-excitation galaxies (LEGs) at fixed black hole mass and radio luminosity, suggesting that the Eddington ratio is higher in HEGs than in LEGs and that for given radio activity HEGs have higher accretion activity than LEGs. The difference between HEGs and LEGs is probably due to either mass accretion rate or radiative efficiency.

본 연구는 해외 기록관에서 소장하고 있는 기록을 대상으로 시민들의 참여를 통해 전사를 수행하는 사례를 분석함에 있어 이와 관련된 개념적 논의를 조사하고 사례분석을 통해 운영현황 및 시사점을 논의하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 개념적 논의에서는 시민 아키비스트, 참여형 아카이브, 크라우드소싱의 세 가지 개념을 바탕으로 시민 참여 전사 프로그램의 특징과 의의를 살펴보았다. 사례분석을 위해 미국과 영국, 호주에서 성공적으로 운영되고 있는 전사 프로그램 5개를 분석 대상으로 선정하였으며 기관 및 목적, 전사 대상 기록, 참여 관리, 인프라, 정책 및 가이드라인, 평가의 6가지 측면에서 분석을 수행하였다. 이러한 전사 프로그램들은 역사기록의 접근 향상이라는 구체적인 목표를 가지고 기관의 조율에 의해 운영되므로 자발적인 참여에 의해 운영되는 공동체 아카이브와는 차이가 있다. 따라서 시민들의 지속적인 참여 유도를 위한 방안을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 측면에서 국내의 유사한 서비스에 대한 시사점으로 전사 프로그램의 목적을 명확히 서술하고 전사 대상 기록 선정 시 이용자의 관심을 유도할 수 있는 주제, 기록생산자, 기록 유형을 고려하는 것이 필요함을 제안하였다. 또한 기여도가 높은 소수의 참여자들과 파트너십을 형성할 것과 참여자 요구에 부합하는 전사 인터페이스 및 과업을 제시할 것을 제안하였다. 이와 더불어 간결하고 효과적인 가이드라인 및 전사 결과물 활용에 대한 정책을 제시하고 전사 결과물을 기록 검색 및 접근에 적극적으로 활용함으로써 참여자들의 기여를 가시적으로 인정하는 것이 필요함을 제안하였다.
