In this study, twenty four steel-fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams using recycled coarse aggregates (RCA) were manufactured to examine the shear behavior of SFRC and to determine the beams' ultimate shear strengths. The RCA replacement ratio was fixed at 30%. The variables studied in this investigation are: (1) shear span-to-depth ratios (a/d) of 2, 3 and 4; (2) longitudinal reinforcement ratio (${\rho}$) of 0.008 and 0.0127; and (3) steel fiber volume fractions ($V_f$) of 0, 0.5, 0.75 and 1%. Test results were analyzed and then compared with the findings and proposals of various other researchers. Based on the test results, the more steel fiber volume fraction is increased, the large crack resistance and shear strength are exhibited. Most of the experimental data is higher than the theoretical value. Therefore, steel-fiber reinforced concrete beams using recycled coarse aggregates are suggested to be applied for building structures.
An experimental research was performed using fibers for the purpose of retrofitting existing reinforced concrete circular columns. Glass fiber (GF) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) were used as well as combined GF+PET (HF). PET has high tensile strength (over 600 MPa) and high ductility (about 15%), but has very low elastic modulus (about 1/6 of GF). A total of four columns was tested against laterally applied reverse cyclic load: control column, GF-, PET-, and HF-strengthened columns. All columns retrofitted using fibers demonstrated improved moment capacity and ductility. Moment capacity of GF-, PET-, and HF-strengthened columns was 120%, 107%, and 120% of the control column, respectively. Drift ratio of all retrofitted columns also increased by 63 ~ 83% over the control column. The final failure mode of the control column was main bar buckling. The final failure mode of the GF- and HF-strengthened columns was GF rupture while that of the PET-strengthened column was main bar rupture in tension. No damage was observed for PET at the ultimate stage due to excellent strain capacity intrinsic to PET. Current test results indicate that PET can be effectively used for seismic retrofit of RC columns. It is noted that the durability characteristics of PET needs to be investigated in the future.
The main purpose of this study is to develop a sprayed FRP repair and strengthening method, which is a new technique for strengthening the existing concrete structures by mixing one of the carbon or glass chopped fibers and one of the epoxy or vinyl ester resins with high-speed compressed air in open air and randomly spraying the mixture onto the concrete surface. At present, the sprayed FRP repair and strengthening method using the epoxy resin has not been fully discussed. In order to investigate the material property of the sprayed FRP, this study carried out tensile tests of the material specimens, which were changed with the combinations of various variables including the length of chopped fiber and the mixture ratio of chopped fiber and resin. These variables were set to have the equal material strength, compared with that of one layer of the FRP sheet. As a result, the optimal length of glass and carbon chopped fibers was fumed out to be 38 mm, and the optimal mixture ratio between chopped fiber and resin was also turned out to be 1 : 2 from each variable. And also, the thickness of the sprayed FRP to have the equal strength to one layer of the FRP sheet was finally calculated. In is study, a series of experiments were carried out to evaluate the strengthening effects of flexural beams, shear beams and damaged beams strengthened with the sprayed FRP method, respectively. The results revealed that the strengthening effects of the flexural and shear specimens were reasonably similar to those of the FRP sheet, and the developed Sprayed FRP technique is able to be used as a strengthening scheme of existing RC building.
The pre-tensioned spun high strength concrete (PHC) pile has poor load carrying capacity in shear and flexure, while showing excellent axial load bearing capacity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the flexural performance of the concrete-infilled composite PHC (ICP) pile which is the PHC pile reinforced with infilled concrete, transverse and longitudinal reinforcement for the improvement of shear and flexural load carrying capacity. The ICP pile specimen was designed to make allowable axial compression and bending moment higher load bearing capacity than those determined through the investigation of abutment design cases. The allowable axial compression and bending moment of the ICP pile was obtained using the program developed for calculating the axial compression - bending moment interaction. Then, ICP pile specimens were manufactured and flexural tests were performed. From the test results, it was found that the maximum bending moment of the ICP pile was approximately 45% higher than that of the PHC pile and the safety factor of ICP pile design was about 4.5 when the allowable bending moment was determined to be 25% of the flexural strength.

The need for radio spectrum is recently considered as a huge hurdle towards the rapid development of wireless networks. Large parts of the spectrum are allocated to licensed radio services in proprietary way. However, enormous success of the wireless services and technologies in the unlicensed bands has brought new ideas and innovations. In recent years cognitive radio has gained much attention for solving the spectrum scarcity problem. It changes the way spectrum is regulated so that more efficient spectrum utilization is possible. Multi-hop relay technology on the other hand has intensively been studied in the area of ad hoc and peer-to-peer networks. But in cellular network, only recently the integration of multi-hop capability is considered to enhance the performance significantly. Multi-hop relaying can extend the coverage of the cell to provide high data rate service to a greater distance and in the shadowed regions. Very few papers still exist that combine these methods to maximize the spectrum utilization. Thus we propose a network architecture combining these two technologies in a way to maximize the system throughput. We present the throughput capacity equations for the proposed system model considering various system parameters like utilization factor by the primary users and primary users' transmission radius and through extensive numerical simulations we analyze the significance of work.

In this paper, a small area 12-bit 300MSPS CMOS Digital-to-Analog Converter(DAC) is proposed for display systems. The architecture of the DAC is based on a current steering 6+6 segmented type, which reduces non-linearity error and other secondary effects. In order to improve the linearity and glitch noise, an analog current cell using monitoring bias circuit is designed. For the purpose of reducing chip area and power dissipation, furthermore, a noble self-clocked switching logic is proposed. To verify the performance, it is fabricated with $0.13{\mu}m$ thick-gate 1-poly 6-metal N-well Samsung CMOS technology. The effective chip area is $0.26mm^2$ ($510{\mu}m{\times}510{\mu}m$) with 100mW power consumption. The measured INL (Integrated Non Linearity) and DNL (Differential Non Linearity) are within ${\pm}3LSB$ and ${\pm}1LSB$, respectively. The measured SFDR is about 70dB, when the input frequency is 15MHz at 300MHz clock frequency.

Due to the rapid development of network environment and wireless communication technology, the distribution of digital video has made easily and the importance of the protection for digital video has been increased. This paper proposes the digital video encryption system based on multiple chaos maps for MPEG-2 video encoding process. The proposed method generates secret hash key of having 128-bit characteristics from hash chain using Tent map as a basic block and generates $8{\times}8$ lattice cipher by applying this hash key to Logistic map and Henon map. The method can reduce the encryption overhead by doing selective XOR operations between $8{\times}8$ lattice cipher and some coefficient of low frequency in DCT block and it provides simple and randomness characteristic because it uses the architecture of combining chaos maps. Experimental results show that PSNR of the proposed method is less than or equal to 12 dB with respect to encrypted video, the time change ratio, compression ratio of the proposed method are 2%, 0.4%, respectively so that it provides good performance in visual security and can be applied in real time.

This International Standard establishes an AVI/AEI System based on radio frequency technologies. This system is intended for general application in ITS. Specially, It allows the transfer of the identification codes and further information about equipment and vehicles used in intermodal transport into such CVO and information systems related to Intermodal Transport processes. The aim of this standard is to define, describe and specify Architecture, System Parameters, Numbering/ Data structures and interface related to an AVI/AEI system to provide an enabling Standard, which, whilst allowing the system specifier to determine the performance levels and operating conditions, provides a framework for nominal interoperability. The Standard is to establish a common framework to achieve unambiguous identification in AVI/AEI applications. Thes is AVI/AEI is designed to be an 'enabling' structure to allow interoperability between different commercial systems, and not prescriptive in determining any one system. The ISO TC204 WG4 has eight active work items. A new WI on ERI is progressing quickly; three WIs for the road environment and four multimodal WIs are under development. All Work Items are joint between CEN TC278 and ISO TC204 according to the Vienna Agreement, with CEN in the lead. The work is progressing with some delay. This study is purposed to verify the safety of the floor of the children's playground using polyolefin foam waste and rubber paving. The critical fall height, walking suitability, long term physical fatigue expectation and slipperiness were tested. Polyolefin foam wastes in thickness of 30mm, 50mm and 70mm were prepared with paving the rubber paving materials in 12mm and 15mm thickness respectively. The test on the critical fall height was carried out according to KS G 5758:2009. The floor hardness test equipment (O-Y HMA) was used for the test on hardness of the floor from a viewpoint of walking suitability and fatigue. A portable slipperiness tester (ONO PPSM) was used for slipperiness test. It was revealed from the test that the floor made of the polyolefin foam waste and rubber paving were considerably safe from a viewpoint of impact absorption. With regards to the hardness of the floor, it was shown the excellent performance in the aspects of walking and fatigue for male. But it was not suitable with walking on the shoes(middle heels) for female. And they will be very fatigue if they were in a long time walking or standing. As far as the slipperiness is concerned, it was shown that it was comparatively safe for the ordinary motions even though the surface was wet.

In this paper, we propose a novel control signaling protocol that efficiently controls connection setup and increases the utilization of network resources. The proposed protocol, Separated Control Signaling Protocol(SCSP), separates bearer control from call control lot WDM optical networks. The main function of call control is to check the availability of network resources such as wavelengths and receivers at destination node. Bearer control is to reserve and assign wavelengths. The signaling architecture of this protocol consists of call controller and hearer controller The call controller handles call setup and release, activates the beater controller, and manages the status of call and bearer. The bearer controller reserves wavelengths, sets up bearer, tears down bearer. and notifies the status of beater to call controller. The state transition diagrams of each controller are designed. Using control messages and related primitives, the information flows for call setup and bearer setup, hearer teardown and call release, and reaction for setup failures are described to evaluate the performance. The simulation results show that the separated control signaling protocol is superior to conventional one in terms of call blocking probability and resource utilization.
