Sporadic inclusion body myositis (s-IBM) is an aquired slowly progressive inflammatory myopathy with unknown etiology. Although light microscopic abnormalities and characteristic histopathology on muscle biopsy distinguishes from other inflammatory myopathies, vacuolated muscle fibers, intracellular amyloid deposits or tubulofilaments in electromicroscopic findings are not definite in some patients. This review shows the prominently involved muscles in s-IBM and specific or nonspecific electrophysiologic manifestations from reported data for helping the diagnosis of definite-or probable-IBM patients. In lower limbs, the quadriceps is predominantly involved, as is iliopsoas, and tibialis anterior is common. In the upper limbs, the greatest weakness is in forearm finger flexors. Finger extensors, biceps and triceps also are moderately to prominently involved. The majority of patients demonstrate polyphasic MUAPs that are short in duration. An additional striking feature is the concomitant documentation of long-duration, large-amplitude, polyphasic MUAPs. In spite of the frequent mixed myopathic-neurogenic electromyographic findings of IBM, just like that of chronic myositis, asymmetric, slowly progressive weakness of flexor digitorum profundus or quadriceps femoris muscles after age of 50 is very necessary condition for the diagnosis of IBM.

The main purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of secondary Home Economics education curriculum and program by investigating the recognition perceived by Home Economics teachers. We have done statistical analyses of 237 questionnaires on the Home Economics teachers' recognition. The results are as follows: 1) The respondents evaluated the necessity of Home Economics education in secondary school, application of aquired knowledge and technical skill and learning by practical experience, highly. 2) As for the contents of Home Economics education curriculum, the respondents place a high value on the field of Meal Management, Child and Family Studies, Home resourse Management and Consumer life, Clothing Management, and House Planning and Management, in the order. 3) The most important educational concepts are knowledges and understanding for the human beings.

To understand the hemolytic anemia (HA) in children, the diagnostic approach and management of hereditary and acquired HA are described. The hereditary hemolytic anemia (HHA) can be classified according to the pathogenesis into three types : RBC membrane defects, hemoglobinopathies, and RBC enzymopathies. Clinical characteristics, laboratory findings and molecular defects of these three types are presented briefly. In Korea, HHA due to the RBC membrane defect, hereditary spherocytosis had been reported often but HHA due to hemoglobinopathies and RBC enzymopathies had been thought to be relatively rare. With recent development in the molecular diagnosis, ${\beta}$ thalassemia, mostly heterozygote, G6PD and pyruvate kinase deficiency have been reported with gene characterization. If the patients with microcytic hypochromic anemia show unproportionally low MCV or MCH or refractory to the iron therapy, hemoglobin electrophoresis and gene analysis for thalassemia or other unstable hemoglobinopathies need to be done accordingly. The global movement of the population especially from the region prevalent of hemoglobinopathies or enzymopathies to Korea warrants considering broad spectrum of etiology for the diagnosis of HHA. Aquired HA resulting from extracellular factors such as autoimmune HA from warm antibody, cold agglutinin and paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria as well as nonimmune HA are described briefly.

SVC(Scalable Video coding) is the standardization of MPEG that aims to support multi spatial, temporal, and quality layers. We can support the video service guaranteeing the QoS in varied network circumstance by using SVC bitstream. In this paper, we propose the real-time SVC bitstream extractor that is able to extract the bitstream with varied frame rate and SNR quality in real-time. To do, extraction processing needs to be performed by GOP unit. As well , essential bitstream information for real-time extraction is aquired before doing extraction process. The proposed method is implemented by using JSVM 2.0. Experimental results show that the proposed method is valid.

This study was conducted to evaluate water quality in the Mankyung River using multivariate analysis. The analysis data which was surveyed from January 1996 to December 2002 in Mankyung river was aquired by the ministry of environment. Twelve water quality parameters were determined on each survey. The results were summarized as follow; Water quality in the Mankyung River could be explained up to 74.90% by four factors which were included in loading of organic matter and nutrients by the tributaries(43.28%), seasonal variation(10.40%), loading of pathogenic bacteria by domestic sewage of Gapcheon (12.41%) and internal metabolism in river(8.81%). The result of cluster analysis by station was classified into three group that has different water quality characteristics. Especially, Iksan river was appeared to considerable water quality characteristics against other station. In monthly cluster analysis, three group was classified by seasonal characteristics. Also, in yearly cluster analysis, three group was classified. It is necessary to control the pollutant loadings by domestic sewage and livestock waste for water quality management of Mankyung river.

We present results of two-color VR photometry of the intermediate polar RXS J1803. The data were aquired using the Korean 1-m telescope located at Mt. Lemmon, USA. Different "high" and "low" luminosity states, similar to other intermediate polars, were discovered. No statistically significant variability of the color index with varying luminosity was detected. The orbital variability was found to be not statistically significant. Spin maxima timings were determined, as well as the photometric ephemeris for the time interval of our observations. The spin period variations, caused by interaction of the accretion structure with the rotating magnetic white dwarf, were also detected. These variations are of complicated character, and their study requires further observations. We determine the color transformation coefficients for our photometric systems, and improve on the secondary photometric standards.

A numerical study is made of a flow in a cylinder with a rotating grooved endwall disk. The aim is to describe differences in the flow fields when there is concentrically-grooved obstacle characterized by amplitude(a) and wave number(N). The Reynolds number(Re) is varied from $10^{3}$ to $10^{4}$ and the aspect ratio(Ar) fixed to 1.0 for the most part of the simulation. For the various cases of amplitude(a) and wave number(N), numerical results are acquired. As the endwall groove roughness increases until certain limit, the interior azimuthal velocity component(v) increases drastically. But over the limit, the swirl motion chararcterized by velocity v decreases and finally it approaches much alike Ar=1.0-a case. The reason of activating swirl motion is based on increasing of torque transported by endwall disk. Torque coefficients($C_{T}$) are aquired for the various (a,N,Re) combinations and the limiting phenomena of swirl motion activation is explained.
