A Design of SPO for the Conceptual Systematization of Software Patterns (소프트웨어 패턴의 개념적 체계화를 위한 SPO 설계)

  • The software pattern is knowledge representation derived from the verified solutions or the experience of the experts. On account of the design varieties of software development, however, it is not the facilitated task to discover the best proper software pattern. This situation requires that software patterns be categorized in terms of their innate concepts. This paper proposes software pattern ontology(SPO) for the systematic categorization of software patterns by means of conceptual properties of patterns after the comparative analysis of association between software pattern and ontology. The SPO presented in this paper can establish the basis for the software pattern management system at the conceptual level. This paper also shows an idea for the application by unifying conceptual properties of software pattern and ontology.

  • According to the COVID-19, development of various medical software based on IoT(Internet of Things) was accelerated. Especially, interest in a central software system that can remotely monitor and control ventilators is increasing to solve problems related to the continuous increase in severe COVID-19 patients. Since medical device software is closely related to human life, this study aims to develop central monitoring system that can remotely monitor and control multiple ventilators in compliance with medical device software development standards and to verify performance of system. In addition, to ensure the safety and reliability of this central monitoring system, this study also specifies risk management requirements that can identify hazardous situations and evaluate potential hazards and confirms the implementation of cybersecurity to protect against potential cyber threats, which can have serious consequences for patient safety. As a result, we obtained medical device software manufacturing certificates from MFDS(Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) through technical documents about performance verification, risk management and cybersecurity application.

  • Nowadays, a lot of software engineers struggle with the efficient back-end design of mobile application programs operated on the new mobile platform. It is simply because not only their lack of experiences in developing large scale system but also the unstructured nature of the mobile software, where there are no standard solutions. Furthermore, since big data is at the center of many challenges in system design of mobile software, so an efficient system design scheme is required for the development of such data-intensive applications. In this paper, we propose a systematic and efficient system design method that can figure out the substantial nature of the mobile software and solve the difficulties of the back-end software engineers.

  • Through the AUTOSAR methodology, the embedded software shall become more flexible, reusable, maintainable than ever. However, it is not mentioned about specific timing constraints of software components in AUTOSAR. There are a few basic principles for mapping runnable entities. At this point, AUTOSAR software design with optimal scheduling method is one of the enabling technologies in vehicle embedded system. This paper presents an approach based on mapping runnable entities and task scheduling design method for EPS (Electric Power Steering) software components, based on AUTOSAR. In addition, the experimental results of concurrent simulation show that the proposed scheduling technique and timing synchronization in the software component design can achieve the improved torque ripple performance and it well suited for EPS application software.

  • In this paper, we present a novel approach named a shared library as an active memory object for application software development of large-scale real-time systems. Unlike the general passive shared memory, shared library proposed in this paper can be activated as an execution object. Moreover this is not tightly coupled with application programs unlike the normal libraries. To implement this mechanism, operating system makes the shared memory as an active object and shared library realizes the indirect call structure. This mechanism enhanced the utilization of main memory and communication performance. And this is successfully applied to the HANbit ACE ATM switching system and the TDX-10 switching system.

  • According to the growth of data being generated in man fields, a distributed programming model MapReduce has been introduced to handle it. In this paper, we build two cluster system with Solaris and Linux environment on SUN Blade150 respectively and then to evaluate the performance of a MapReduce application running on MapReduce middleware Hadoop in terms of its average elapse time and standard deviation. As a result of this experiment, we show that the overall performance of the MapReduce application based on Hadoop is affected by the configuration of the cluster system.

  • A software application builder has designed and partially implemented a E-Business software system using several reusable in-house software components. The builder finds an externally available third-party software components that satisfies solve desired functionality or behavior. We need systematic classification of the component from the domain. We propose a reference architecture of E-Business domain. It is used to search and reuse requiring components.

  • The convergence of various industries has removed the boundaries of software application fields and reduced the restrictions on convergence fields. Software requirements are diversified and they want to reconfigure software requirements in a fast cycle. Since various changes in requirements have to be accepted technically, research on methodologies and standards to increase the efficiency of software productivity and methods for standardizing and producing software are needed. In this study, we studied how the reusability and complexity of the software asset reconfiguration system appeared according to the developer's characteristics and environment to utilize the assets optimized in previous studies. At this time, we measured how the change in complexity according to the usability and asset composition method that appears according to the developer's characteristics appears, but there is a limit to the collected data, so it is necessary to secure the quality of the measured value through continuous data collection. In addition, an intelligent system application plan is needed to supplement the problem of context classification in the use stage of complex assets.

  • Software streaming technology is a service method which can support several application software via streaming in networks. In this paper, we propose a platform independent PESS(performance Enhanced Software Streaming) technology. We design and implement the technology based on Java language. The main features in the implemented system are both platforms to be used in multiple operating systems in addition to Windows system and enhanced performance. In the implemented streaming method, application software is placed on the server and only necessary packs are transmitted in an instant. By virtual file system and clients' virtual registry, if necessary, the users' request is processed by transmitting a very small pack unit. Therefore, server load can be reduced and the streaming speed can also be improved. We present the implementation results and evaluate several performance characteristics of the proposed system.

  • It is necessary to construct an effective regional information system in facing the incoming information intensive society. Many local government in Korea began to recognize a need for constructing a GIS(Geographic Information System) and they are planning to construct GIS´s to improve their administrative efficiency. However, ti requires high-priced hardware, software, and an experienced operator to sue a GIS effectively. The purpose of this study is to develop the GIS program which can be sued with ease by common users. By developing a GIS functioned program using a coordinate recognition module by application of geo-spatial data, and a digital map which is already made, this program can be used efficiently only by only inputting attributes without high-priced hardware and software, and can be utilized easily to every purposes of work with geo-spatial data and attributes. MapObjects, mapping and GIS component, was employed to use geo-spatial data, and Access 97 from Microsoft to manage and attributes database. Visual Basic, objected-oriented language, was used to develop an application program. Results of this study were applied to constructing the Information system of Kanwon National University. This program could be used for various purposed by common users without additional hardware and software.
