Having the characteristics of unlinkability, anonymity, and unforgeability, blind signatures are widely used for privacy-related applications such as electronic cash, electronic voting and electronic auction systems where to maintain the anonymity of the participants. Among these applications, the blinded message is needed for a certain purpose by which users delegate signing operation and communicate with each other in a trusted manner. This application leads to the need of proxy blind signature schemes. Proxy blind signature is an important type of cryptographic primitive to realize the properties of both blind signature and proxy signature. Over the past years, many proxy blind signature algorithms have been adopted to fulfill such task based on the discrete logarithm problem (DLP) and the elliptic curve discrete log problem (ECDLP), and most of the existing studies mainly aim to provide effective models to satisfy the security requirements concerning a single blinded message. Unlike many previous works, the proposed scheme applies the signcryption paradigm to the proxy blind signature technology for handling multiple blinded messages at a time based on elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). This innovative method thus has a higher level of security to achieve the security goals of both blind signature and proxy signature. Moreover, the evaluation results show that this proposed protocol is more efficient, consuming low communication overhead while increasing the volume of digital messages compared to the performance from other solutions. Due to these features, this design is able to be implemented in small low-power intelligent devices and very suitable and easily adoptable for e-system applications in pervasive mobile computing environment.
현재 사용되는 플랫폼은 표준화를 추구하던 모바일 플랫폼인 WIPI(Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability)의 의무화가 폐지됨에 따라 다양한 플랫폼이 사용하게 되었다. 그리고 이 플랫폼들을 구성하고 있는 각종 계층들은 다양한 API(Application Programming Interface)들로 구성되어 있다.
An educational institution issued a degree certificate to those students who have successfully completed all studies included in different levels of the degree program. The degree certificate presented by the University is of major significance in the person's life but the fabrication and circulation of fake certificates is inexpensive because a paper document can easily be forged with the availability of advance printing and copying technologies. So, there is a need to adopt a centralized authentication process that can verify and ensure the authenticity of a document. In order to prevent the spread of fake degree certificates a method is proposed where the integrity of the contents with in the certificate can be verified with the use of and Smart Phone Application. A Quick Response (QR) Code will contain a digital signature over the data such as degree holder's name, major program, Grade Point Average (GPA) obtained etc. Which will be signed by university authorities after the registration in central system and deployed in university. In order to verify the digital signature a person need to use a specific smart phone application which will scan and authenticate the certificate without gaining access to a user's security credentials such as password.
Bitcoin (BTC) is a type of cryptocurrency that supports transaction/payment of virtual money between BTC users without the presence of a central authority or any third party like bank. It uses some cryptographic techniques namely public- and private-keys, digital signature and cryptographic-hash functions, and they are used for making secure transactions and maintaining distributed public ledger called blockchain. In BTC system, each transaction signed by sender is broadcasted over the P2P (Peer-to-Peer) Bitcoin network and a set of such transactions collected over a period is hashed together with the previous block/other values to form a block known as candidate block, where the first block known as genesis-block was created independently. Before a candidate block to be the part of existing blockchain (chaining of blocks), a computation-intensive hard problem needs to be solved. A number of miners try to solve it and a winner earns some BTCs as inspiration. The miners have high computing and hardware resources, and they play key roles in BTC for blockchain formation. This paper mainly analyses the underlying cryptographic techniques, identifies some weaknesses and proposes their enhancements. For these, two modifications of BTC are suggested ― (i) All BTC users must use digital certificates for their authentication and (ii) Winning miner must give signature on the compressed data of a block for authentication of public blocks/blockchain.
In this paper, we propose a new blind group identification protocol and a hidden group signature protocol as its application. These protocols involve many provers and one verifier such that (1) the statement of all the provers are proved simultaneously, (2) and also all the provers using computationally limited devices (e.g. smart cards) have no need of computing the bilinear pairings, (3) but only the verifier uses the bilinear pairings. A. Saxena et al. proposed a two-round blind (group) identification protocol in 2005 using the bilinear pairings. But it reveals weakness in the active-intruder attack, and all the provers as well as the verifier must have devices computing bilinear pairings. Comparing their results, our protocol is secure from the active-intruder attack and has more fit for smart cards. In particular, it is secure under only the assumption of the hardness of the Discrete-Logarithm Problem in bilinear groups.
