  • Smart hand-held devices like iPhone, iPad, Andriod and other mobile-OS machines are becoming a well known part of our daily lives. Utilization of these devices has gone beyond the expectations of their inventors. Evolution of Apple's iOS from a mobile phone Operating System to a wholesome platform for Portable Gaming is an adequate proof. Using these smart devices people are downloading applications from numerous online App Stores. Utilizing remote storage facilities and confining themselves to computing power far below than an entry level laptop, netbooks have emerged. Google's idea of Chrome OS coupled with Google's AppEngine is an eye-opener for researchers and developers. Keeping all these industry-proven innovations in mind we are proposing a Context-Driven Cloud-Oriented Application Architecture for smart devices. This architecture enables our smart devices to behave smarter by utilizing very less of local resources.

  • 한국이 정보 선진국으로 발전함에 따라 노인들의 스마트폰 보유율은 증가하고 있지만, 디지털 환경에 대한 접근성과 경험 부족 등의 이유로 아직도 디지털 약자이다. 그런데도 노령층들이 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 노령자 전용 애플리케이션의 개발은 저조한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해소하기 위해 노령층을 대상으로 다양한 생활 정보를 제공하는 모바일 애플리케이션, 'Seniors Guide'를 개발하였다. 'Seniors Guide'는 사용자 거주지역 주민 센터의 자치 프로그램 정보, 노인 일자리 정보, TV 프로그램 알람, 투약 시간 알람 설정 기능을 제공하는 등 노령층에서 자주 이용하는 다양한 정보와 기능들을 하나의 애플리케이션에서 유용하게 사용할 수 있도록 하는 앱으로 구현되었다.

Quality evaluation of pregnancy-related mobile applications in South Korea: a descriptive study

  • Purpose: This study aimed to describe the characteristics of mobile applications (apps) related to pregnancy in South Korea and evaluate their quality. Methods: We conducted a systematic search for pregnancy-related apps available in Korea in two app stores as of April 29, 2022. The quality of apps was assessed using the Korean translation of the Mobile Application Rating Scale for objective quality with four subdomains (engagement, function, aesthetics, and information) and four items for subjective quality. Results: In total, 163 apps were selected and reviewed. Both the objective and subjective quality of the apps were found to be desirable, with scores exceeding 3 out of 5 (range, 34-82). All subdomain scores in the objective quality assessment were also desirable. Among the four objective quality subdomains, aesthetics received the highest scores, followed by information, function, and engagement. In terms of subjective quality, the scores for a comprehensive overall evaluation, continuous use, and recommendation exceeded 3 out of 5, with the exception of payment. Only a small number of apps (n=4, 2.9%) were backed by a reliable authority, such as an expert review. Significant differences were observed in the objective quality of apps across different content categories (F=3.86, p=.003). Conclusion: Most pregnancy-related apps had desirable levels of objective and subjective quality. However, app content experts seldom provide reviews. It is crucial for nurses to recommend apps to expectant mothers that offer dependable content, regularly updated with the latest information.

  • In this paper, we would like to develop a system that selects the drink you want with an application made with an app inventory for the person who manufactures the drink and manufactures the drink. After combining the drinks to be mixed with the dispenser, the actuator was controlled to accurately move the ball screw to the location of the dispenser by controlling the step motor through Arduino. According to the actuator movement control and the number of times the dispenser is pressed, the amount of drinks to be mixed is extracted in proportion to each other. Finally, we establish a system to replace the labor force of cafes and further suggest directions that the system can be used everywhere.

The Role of Public Food Delivery Mobile Applications in the Food Delivery Market: A Game Theory Model

  • Purpose: The study aims to assess the current status of domestic public food delivery apps and analyze the process through which sellers choose between private delivery apps and public delivery apps. This involves exploring strategiesto achieve the original purpose of public food delivery apps, which is to enhance the small business owners income and promote consumer welfare by preventing the monopoly of private food delivery apps. Research design, data and methodology: the research methodology is based on a model that introduces adjustments for non-economic effects, considering the preferences of multi-homing consumers, to more realistically reflect the benefits of sellers' choices. For data analysis, real business performance data from 'Daeguro', 'Meokkaebi', and 'Somunnan Shop' were used. Results: The study revealed that if the market share of public delivery apps within a specific region increases beyond a certain level, the benefits for small-business sellers also increase. This leads to the strategic advantage of simultaneously using both delivery apps. Furthermore, the results exhibit a tendency similar to real social phenomena. Conclusions: This analysis confirmed the role of public food delivery apps in the domestic delivery app market and presents policy recommendations, including application integration and the implementation of exclusive public interest functions, to effectively fulfill this role.

  • This paper is to suggest how to apply smartphone application making for literature class as a learning tool. New specialists in literature are not satisfied with the traditional learning methods for the acquisition of theoretical knowledge any more. They try to learn the making process of smartphone application using app writing tools to meet their attention and needs. As a result, they can experience "deterritoriatization" of their major. Such a new learning method not only makes the learners build up their literary knowledge, but also plays a part to meet their needs to make it reality as a practical method that satisfies their learning needs. On this basis, there can be a possibility for literature to be the important resource of the contents development for mobile application.

  • As the development of new media and smart phone, more and more people are using social commerce application to shop on-line. Comfort and easiness of the UX design of the application directly affect the social commerce user's searching and buying the merchandise. This study analyzes the effect of social commerce application, especially focusing on the lay-out of the GUI, on the consumer's interest and we suggest an attractive application design of the UX. The material of this study is the lay-out of the GUI of 3 major social commerce - Wemakeprice, Coupan and Ticket monster. We asked questions to the university students who are skillful smart phone users to select frequent on-line shoppers and performed in-depth interview with them to draw a conclusion. As a result of study, differences of main screen layout and information architecture of each social commerce applications has confirmed that indicates a significant difference in usability.

  • With the active usage of digital media, the importance of and the interest in User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) have been increasing. This study proposes the development of design evaluation model to utilize the quality analysis model as a basis if there were to be a development of mobile education application. Main factors of the design evaluation model, which is based on User Value analysis, influence users' attitudes and intentions in continuing their uses of a mobile education application. The employment of the design evaluation factors onto the existing agile method's development stage, therefore, would provide an optimal UX environment for the application. This application not only will increase the satisfactions of consumers, but also will have positive impacts on their intentions in continuing their uses of a mobile education application.

  • 스마트TV는 스마트폰과 달리 가족이 사용하는 디바이스로 인식되고 있다. 그러나 스마트TV도 SNS(Social Networking Service), 웹 서비스 등 가족인 아닌 개인 단위로 사용하는 앱(application)뿐만 아니라 각 개인마다 선호하는 게임을 포함한 앱(application), VOD 리스트, TV 채널 등이 다르다고 볼 수 있다. 그리하여 스마트TV에서도 개인 맞춤형 사용자 인터페이스가 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 스마트TV 환경에서 기존 윈도우 로그인 시스템처럼 개인만의 맞춤형 사용자 인터페이스를 제시한다. 그리하여 각각의 사용자들은 개인만의 환경에서 앱(application)을 실행하거나 TV를 볼 수 있다. 기존 연구되고 있는 채널 네비게이션 기법을 토대로 VOD list, 게임을 포함한 앱(App)을 개인 맞춤형 인터페이스로 보다 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 방법도 제시한다. 채널 네비게이션은 로그인한 각 자신만의 환경에서 사용자가 과거에 시청한 TV 채널을 조사하여 많이 시청한 TV 채널을 보여 주게 한다. 그리하여 보다 자신이 선호하는 채널을 쉽게 시청할 수 있다. 이와 더불어 VOD 리스트와 게임을 포함한 앱(application)을 과거에 시청하거나 사용했던 패턴을 분석하고 선호하는 VOD 리스트와 앱(application)을 예측하여 보여주어 개인의 맞춤형 인터페이스에서 보다 빠르게 접근이 가능하며 편리하게 사용할 수 있다.

  • Rapidly developing mobile internet technology and extensive service of smart phones have led to growing use of mobile applications. It is natural that software developers and IT-related students develop a variety of applications that can be used for everyday life. The present paper reports a case of developing such an application that was developed in a capstone design course of Department of Computer Science at Namseoul University. This so-called 'Application for Prevention of Loss of One's Belongings' was designed to let students learn a set of tools based on Android operation system. This app can prevent smart phone users from losing their belongings using an alarm. The educational effect from the process of developing this application is also discussed.
