Performance Improvement of a PMSM Sensorless Control Algorithm Using a Stator Resistance Error Compensator in the Low Speed Region

  • Sensorless control methods are generally used in motor control for home-appliances because of the material cost and manufactureing standard restrictions. The current model-based control algorithm is mainly used for PMSM sensorless control in the home-appliance industry. In this control method, the rotor position is estimated by using the d-axis and q-axis current errors between the real system and a motor model of the position estimator. As a result, the accuracy of the motor model parameters are critical in this control method. A mismatch of the PMSM parameters affects the speed and torque in low speed, steadystate responses. Rotor position errors are mainly caused by a mismatch of the stator resistance. In this paper, a stator resistance compensation algorithm is proposed to improve sensorless control performance. This algorithm is easy to implement and does not require a modification of the motor model or any special interruptions of the controller. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through experimental results.

  • 최근 실내 공기질에 대한 관심이 집중되고 있으며, 본 연구에서는 자동차용 폐 라디에이터를 재활용하여 진동형 히트 파이프 (pulsating heat pipe : PHP)타입의 환기열 회수기로 제작하고, 그 성능에 대해 평가하였다. 작동유체로는 R-134a를 사용하였으며, 충전율은 내부체적비($\varphi$) 30% 및 40%로 PHP를 제작하였다. PHP의 높은 열전달 성능으로 인해 컴팩트 열교환기로 제작가능하였으며, 기존의 환기열 회수기와 대등한 성능을 보여주었다. 또한 부하변동에 따라 유닛의 개수를 증감할 수 있는 Cassette type일 뿐 아니라, 자동차용 폐 열교환기의 재활용으로 높은 경제성과 효율성이 기대된다.

  • This paper presents a new hybrid control scheme using Active-Clamped Class-E (ACCE) inverter of induction heating(IH) jar for high power applications. The proposed hybrid control scheme has characteristics, which act as class-E inverter at lower switch voltage and ACCE inverter at higher switch voltage than reference voltage of the main switch by feeding back voltage one as well as advantages of conventional ACCE inverter such as zero-voltage switching(ZVS) of the main switch and the reduced switch voltage due to the clamping circuit. Moreover, the proposed control method makes higher output power than conventional ACCE inverter control one since ACCE inverter is operated like class-E inverter at low voltage condition. The principle of the proposed control are explained in detail and the validity of the proposed control scheme is verified through the several interesting simulated and experimental results.

  • BLDC 전동기는 높은 효율과 출력밀도로 인하여, 현재 산업응용 분야에 널리 적용되고 있으며, 특히 고성능 제어 특성과 저소음 운전특성으로 인하여 가정용 전자제품의 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 제한적인 설계조건에서 요구성능을 만족하는 트레드 밀 구동용 BLDC 전동기를 설계하고, 이에 적합한 제어기를 제작하였다. 전동기설계에서 제한된 고정자 구조에 대하여, 제작의 용이성과 경제성을 고려하여 CAD와 FEM 해석을 통하여 영구자석의 형상을 설계하였다. 설계된 제어기는 트레드 밀의 안정된 구동과 성능을 위하여 운전자의 무게와 회전속도에 따라 학습된 제어기의 이득이 사용되도록 제작되었다. 제시된 트레드 밀 구동용 BLDCM과 제어기는 실험을 통하여 성능을 확인하였다.

Copula 함수를 이용한 HEMS 내 전력소비자의 부하 사용패턴 모델링 및 그 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Modeling of Users a Load Usage Pattern in Home Energy Management System Using a Copula Function and the Application)

  • This paper addresses the load usage scheduling in the HEMS for residential power consumers. The HEMS would lead the residential users to change their power usage, so as to minimize the cost in response to external information such as a time-varying electricity price, the outside temperature. However, there may be a consumer's inconvenience in the change of the power usage. In order to improve this, it is required to understand the pattern of load usage according to the external information. Therefore, this paper suggests a methodology to model the load usage pattern, which classifies home appliances according to external information affecting the load usage and models the usage pattern for each appliance based on a copula function representing the correlation between variables. The modeled pattern would be reflected as a constraint condition for an optimal load usage scheduling problem in HEMS. To explain an application of the methodology, a case study is performed on an electrical water heater (EWH) and an optimal load usage scheduling for EHW is performed based on the branch-and-bound method. From the case study, it is shown that the load usage pattern can contribute to an efficient power consumption.

인터넷 정보가전 제어를 위한 무선 통합 서비스 설계 (A Design of Integrated Service for ControllingNetworked Appliances on Wireless Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷 정보가전 제어를 위하여 무선 통합 서비스를 설계 제안한다. 무선 통신은 블루투스와 CDMA를 사용하고 휴대폰과 PDA와 같은 무선 단말기로 집안의 정보가전을 원격에서 제어한다. 정보가전 제어를 위하여 XML 메시지와 SMS 정보가전 메시지 형식을 설계한다. 흠 게이트웨이에는 모바일 에이전트와 정보가전 메시지 처리기를 설계 구현한다. 휴대폰과 PDA용 정보가전 통합 리모콘을 설계 구현하고 검증을 위해서 웹상에 동작하는 정보가전 시뮬레이터를 구현하여 테스트한다.

  • One of the serious challenges in developing rotary compressor with HFC refrigerant is the prediction of scuffing times and wear amounts between vane and roller surfaces. In this study, the tribological characteristics of sliding surfaces using vane-roller geometry of rotary compressor were investigated. The sliding tests were carried out under various sliding speeds, normal loads and surface roughness. During the test, friction force, wear depth, time to failure and surface temperature were monitored. Because severe wear occurred on vane surface, TiN coating was applied on sliding surfaces to prolong the wear life of vane-roller interfaces. From the sliding test it was found that there was the optimum initial surface roughness to break in and to prolong the wear life of sliding surfaces. Depending on the load and speed, the protective layers, which were composed of metallic oxide and organic compound, were formed on sliding surfaces. Those would play an important role in the amounts of friction and wear between roller and vane surfaces.

  • Recently, the importance and necessity of engineering analysis has shown a steady growth. However, researchers working in small and medium enterprises know little about the usefulness of engineering analysis and suffer from lack of technical knowledge. Axial fan is air fluid machinery in various fields of industry such as automobile, electric appliance, and heavy machinery. It is also a time and budget consuming equipment to develop the axial fan through physical experiments. In order to overcome this problem, we have designed and developed a web-base automated simulator for axial fan's fluid analysis using supercomputer. Automated simulator means that all of processes for engineering analysis including pre-process, solving, and post-process can be performed automatically without user intervention after transferring fan model(CAD files) made by user. After executing the simulator with some parameters, user can receive the report including pressure P and flow rate Q. In this paper, we introduce the architecture of our easy and efficient automated engineering analysis simulator, related techniques and result of development.

  • 초고속 인터넷의 보급, 디지털 정보장비의 확산 및 생활 패턴의 변화에 따라 홈 네트워크의 필요성이 점차 확대되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 홈 네트워크화를 위해서 8051 MCU, Hardware TCP/IP를 이용하여 임베디드 이더넷 모듈을 설계, 개발하였다. 타겟 머신에 간단한 웹 서버를 구축하고 이를 이용한 원격제어 프로그램을 포팅하여 원격지에서도 인터넷으로 가전기기를 제어할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 모듈을 이용하므로 저가격으로 홈 오토메이션을 구현할 수 있으리라 생각한다.

  • Current prostheses for amputees are generally extrinsic wearing socket type that the coupling between body stump and appliance wraps the soft tissue and this structure causes several problems :applying direct weight to soft tissue such as skin and muscle, skin trouble of contacting area and pain. In this study, osseointegration implant is a method to directly connect prosthesis to the residual stump skeletal tissue of arm, finger and leg through surgical operation. Technology presented in this paper essentially solves the problems of pain and abnormal weight transfer system indicated above and recovers the functions of the amputated arm and leg. In this paper, implant shape was designed for the first step for the development of osseointegration implant and then we studied the possibility to apply this osseointegration implant to human body by performing implant insertion operation to beagle tibia for the clinical animal test and normal beagle's gait analysis was executed in order to quantitatively verify the beagle's skeletal functions after the implant insertion.
