This paper introduces some useful Java technologies for utilizing the Internet in numerical analysis, and suggests one architecture performing efficient numerical analysis in the Intranet by using them. The present work has verified it's possibility by implementing some parts of this architecture with two easy examples. One is based on Servlet-Applet communication, JDBC and Swing. The other is adding multi-threads, file transfer and Java Remote Method Invocation to the former. Through this work it has been intended to make the base for the later advanced and practical research that will include efficiency estimates of this architecture and deal with advanced load balancing.

본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 원격 CAI(Computer Assistant Instruction) 기술과 자바(Java) 기술을 이용하여 웹을 기반으로 하는 실시간 원격교육 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 웹 기반의 코스웨어(Courseware) 및 텍스트 기반의 문자강의 그리고 원격OHP를 실시간으로 제공한다. 코스웨어는 컴퓨터 기초교육을 제공하며 , 오소웨어 (Authorware)를 이용하여 구축하였다 실시간 원격교육을 위한 문자강의 및 원격 OHP의 클라이언트/서버 프로그램은 자바 애플릿(Applet)과 자바 애플리케이션(Application)으로 개발되었고, 자바 서블릿(Servlet)을 이용하여 본 시스템의 CGI프로그램을 작성하였다.

We present the web-based remote monitoring system using distributed object technology. In order to provide the desired functionality, the system has used CORBA(Common Object Request Architecture) and Java Servlet to implement the integrated distributed object environment. It converts the existing standalone machine monitoring system into web-based machine monitoring system. It consists of applet program, CORBA server and CORBA client. The usefulness of our system will be illustrated by the application to ICM(Integrated Condition Monitoring) System developed by KIST Tribology Center.

많은 중소기업들이 업무를 진행하는데에 있어서 수기로서 작업을 하기도 하고 아니면 간단한 프로그램를 사용하든지 아니면 중소기업형 ERP를 사용하기도 한다. HomePage의 경우에도 있는 경우도 있고 존재하지 않는 경우도 있다. 더구나 WEB으로 업무를 처리하는경우는 상당히 미흡하다. 개발을 하려고 하여도 WEB 기반으로 프로그램을 개발하는데는 Servlet 기반의 방식이 대다수 이다. 이 방식은 중소기업에서 개발하기에는 너무나 많은 개발비용과 유지비용이 들게되고 또한 네트워크 환경의 열악성 때문에 투자대비 효과를 얻기가 힘들다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 시스템은 Applet을 이용하여 중소기업업무 프로그램을 WEB 기반으로 구축하여 자료의 사용을 Internet 또는 Intranet등에서 가능하게 하고 네트워크의 영향역시 AWT기반으로 Applet으로 제작하여 만들어지는 파일의 크기를 작게 구현해서 네트워크의 영향을 최소화 하게 구현을 하고, 프로그램을 클래스화시켜 재사용이 가능하게 하여 개발기간의 단축과 유지보수를 용이하게 하여 비용을 줄이도록 한다.

The present study introduces some useful methods of implementing the Internet numerical analysis program with existing numerical codes for utilizing the Internet environment. The Internet gives developers good environment for development and release. Several methods were suggested, and some of them were implemented with an existing numerical code named SOLA-VOF, a computational fluid dynamics program to solve two-dimensional transient flow problems with free surface. This was reconstructed with Java technologies and compared with the original one. Java technologies have been applied to development of Internet applications for a long time. The objective of this work is to contrive methods of implementing Internet numerical analysis program with existing numerical codes and confirm the possibility of them. Methods using the applet-servlet communication were suggested and implemented. In addition, the Java web services with XML was introduced, which makes possible the cooperation of components. Although the concept has been suggested and developed for business applications, it can also be used for engineering softwares. Therefore, this study will be a preparation for numerical analysis to participate in engineering web services.

본 논문은 웹 브라우저를 통해 관리되는 홈네트워크 관리 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술한다. 디지털 가전기기들은 IEEE1394 버스에 의해 퍼스널 자바 환경을 갖춘 셋톱박스와 연결된다. 셋톱박스에서 동작하는 내장형 웹 서버는 HTTP1.1의 세션 유지 기능과 JSDK2.1을 지원하는 서블릿 엔진을 포함한다. 홈 네트워크 관리 프로그램은 서블릿 형태로 개발되며 IEEE1394 디바이스 드라이버 기능을 접근하기 위해 JNI를 사용한다. 각 가전기기를 위한 사용자 인터페이스 애플릿은 홈 네트워크 관리 웹 문서에서 관련 아이콘을 선택한 경우 클라이언트로 다운로드되고, TCP/IP API를 통해 관련 서블릿과 통신한다.

The area of business applications in the internet are extended enormously in result of fast development of computing and communication technologies, increase of internet use, and use of intranet/extranet in enterprise information system. Widely spread the use of the internet, there are various applications for Business to Business (B to B) or Business to Customer(B to C) model that are based on the intranet or extranet. This paper designed and implemented the Web-based Electronic Bidding System for Business to Business (B to B) model. The technical issues of electronic bidding system in the internet are involved in the connection between web client and server, electronic data interchange for the contract document, and security solution during the bidding and contracting processes. The web-based electronic bidding system in this paper is implemented using Java applet and servlet as a connection interface for web client and server, XML/EDI-based documents for a bid and a contract, and bidding server and notary server for enhancing the security using PKI(Public Key Infrastructure)-based public key cryptography, digital signature and Certification Authority(CA).

The present study introduces an architecture for performing efficient numerical analysis by using the Internet and three reconstructing methods of existing numerical analysis codes were presented in order to utilize the architecture. These methods were implemented into a computational fluid dynamics program for solving two-dimensional transient flow problems with free surface. The program was reconstructed with Java technologies and compared with the original one. This study will be a preparation for numerical analysis to participate in web services for engineering.

This paper proposes structural analysis on the World Wide Web to form a part of the architectural design project. It purposes modeling space frames and a structural analysis program on the internet only by inputting basic data for forming a shape in the whole phase of space frame analysis. The analysis data is conducted by Oracle DBMS(DataBase Management System), GUI(Graphic User Internet) by Java Applet and connection with server and database by Java Servlet respectively. The result from modeling and analysis is provided as graphic and text file forms by web browsers. Programs can be executed irrespective of user's OS by using internet and highly-secured system is constructed taking advantage of Java. Of great efficiency is maintaining and recycling data as the whole is dealt by database from the beginning to the end of program.

오늘날 XML은 구조적인 데이타를 표현하는 수단으로서 널리 쓰이고, 웹 환경에서 그 중요성이 더욱 확대되고 있다. 이러한 XML 기반의 구조적인 데이타를 처리하기 위해서 분산처리환경인 CORBA 환경에서는 XML문서를 주고받는 것이 보편화되고 있다. 그러나 XML문서를 처리하기 위해서 CORBA 환경을 수정해야만 한다. 즉 IDL정의, CORBA 클라이언트, CORBA 서버, 그리고 구현객체까지도 XML문서를 처리하기 위해 수정을 해야만 하거나 설계 단계부터 XML문서를 처리할 수 있는 시스템이 요구된다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 연동 구조는 기존의 CORBA 환경의 수정사항 없이 웹 환경과 CORBA 환경사이에 연동을 지원한다. 본 제안구조는 다양한 서비스유형 즉, 서블릿을 이용한 웹응용서버와 SOAP을 사용하여 기존 시스템과 CORBA 환경과의 확장성을 제공하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안하는 구조는 XML과 CORBA의 연동을 위해 CORBA 환경의 수정을 하지 않고 유연하게 확장할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 구조를 채용한 웹 플랫폼환경에서는 CORBA환경과의 연동을 용이하게 제공할 수 있다.
