리튬이온전지용 $LiCoO_2$ 정극의 도전재료에 따른 특성 (Effects of Conductive Material on $LiCoO_2$ Cathode for the Lithium ion Battery)

  • 리튬이온전지용 $LiCoO_2$ 전극의 도전재료인 흑연과 블랙에 대하여 도전재료 함량에 따른 복합체 전극의 겉보기 밀도, 전해액 중에서 집전체로부터 전극복합체의 자기박리 및 전자전도 저항 특성을 조사하였다. $LiCoO_2$복합전극의 겉보기 밀도는 도전재료의 함량 증가에 따라 감소하였으며, 복합체 중 $LiCoO_2$ 단독의 겉보기 밀도는 보다 큰 감소를 나타내었다. $4.7\%w/w$ 이상의 super s black 도전재료를 사용한 전극은 propylene carbonate와 diethyl carbonate의 1: 1 체적비 혼합용매 중의 1 mol/I $LiPF_6$ 전해액 함침으로 자기박리하였으며, 흑연 도전재료에서는 자기박리가 없었다 복합전극의 전자전도에 대한 비저항은 도전재료의 함량 증가에 따라 감소하였으며, super s black도전재료 $2\~3\%w/w$ 함량의 비저항은 Lonza KS6흑연 도전재료 $12\%w/w$ 함량의 비저항과 유사하였다. 본 연구에서 나타낸 범위 내에서 super s black도전재료를 사용할 때 전극 복합체 중의 $LiCoO_2$밀도가 높아 고용량을 나타내었다.

  • 최근에 들어 사면이나 사면 근처에 교대등과 같이 기초하중이 비교적 큰 구조물들이 시공되는 예가 점차 많아지는 경 향을 보이고 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 사면 또는 사면 근처 에 설치되는 기초의 경우는 수평지반에 비해 지지력이 현저하게 떨어지기 때문에, 말뚝이나 케이슨 등과 같은 고가의 깊은기초들이 주로 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 토목섬유 또는 metal strip등의 보강재를 이용하여 사면을 보강하는 경제적인 공법이 필요시 되고,또한 이와같은 공법에 관련된 합리적인 기초지지력 해석법의 제시가 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사면 근처에 설치되는 얕은 기초의 지지력 보강을 목적으로 strip등의 보강재를 설치할 경우, 'wide slab effect' 개념등 Huang및 Binquet-Lee등이 모형실험등을 통해 제시한 파괴매카니즘 및 Boussinesq해법 등을 토대로 하여 보강사면에 대한 기초지지력 해석법을 제시하였다. 본 해석법에서는 soil dilatancy 등의 영향에 의한 깊이별 보강재-주변흙 사이의 마찰계수 변화를 함수형태로 표현하여 보강재주변흙 사이의 상호작용을 부분적으로 고려하였으며, 아울러 본 연구를 통해 제시된 기초지지력 해석법의 적합성 검토를 위해 Huang등이 제시한 모형실험결과와 서로 비교하였다. 이외에도, 설계에 관련된 여러 변수들이 기초지지력에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 분석이 이루어졌다.

당알콜과 효소의 종류가 대두아이스크림의 품질특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of sugar alcohol and enzyme treatment on the quality characteristics of soy ice cream)

  • The effects of bromelain and $\alpha$-chymotrypsin treatments on the functional properties(foaming capacity, foaming stability, emulsifying capacity, and emulsifying stability) of soy protein isolate(SPI) and the addition of various sweeteners(sucrose, sorbitol, xylitol) on the quality attributes(viscosity, overrun ratio, melt-down property, and sensory characteristic) of soy ice cream were studied. SPI was more effectively hydrolyzed with $\alpha$-chymotrypsin than bromelain, resulting in a better foaming and emulsifying capacity. Adding xylitol could significantly improve the viscosity, overrun and melt-down property of soy ice creams while the effect was the lowest in the sucrose addition. Bromelain treatment caused a lower apparent viscosity of SPI suspension compared with $\alpha$-chymotrypsin treatment and untreated. The overrun ratios of the soy ice cream prepared with bromelain and $\alpha$-chymotrypsin treated SPI were 18.9∼25.9% and 24.9∼40.3%, respectively as a result of freezing with agitation for 20 min in an ice cream maker. Comparatively, untreated SPI could bring only 15.8∼21.4% overrun ratios after operating for 15 min. The bromelain treatment caused high melt-down tendency of the product while soy ice cream with untreated SPI showed an opposite trend. In sensory characteristics, no significant differences in the strength of beany flavor were noted among the samples. Sweetness, bitter taste, icy feel, and mouthfeel of the product were greatly affected by the enzyme-treatment of SPI. Soy ice cream added with xylitol after $\alpha$-chymotrypsin treatment was the most acceptable among all samples.

다시마 alginate 점도 및 금속이온 결합능에 미치는 추출조건의 영향 (Effect of Extracting Conditions on the Viscosity and Binding Capacity of Metal Ion of Alginate from Sea Tangle, Laminaria spp.)

  • 추출조건에 따른 다시마 alginate의 성질을 조사하기 위해 추출용매인 $Na_{2}CO_{3}$의 농도를 $1\%,\;3\%$, 및 $5\%$로 조절하고, 추출시간을 1, 3, 5 및 10시간으로 하였을 때 각 추출조건에서 추출된 alginate의 점도변화와 금속이 온 결합능을 측정하였다. $Na_{2}CO_{3}$의 농도가 높을수록 추출시간이 길어질수록 alginate의 겉보기 점도 및 금속이온과의 결합능은 감소하였다. Alginate 의 최대 금속이온 결합능을 나타내는 이온농도는 0.06M, $25m{\ell}$였다. Alginate의 금속이온과의 결합능은 $Pb^{++}$이 가장 높았고, $Cu^{++}$이 가장 낮게 나타났다. Alginate의 점도가 증가할수록 alginate의 금속이온 결합능도 증가되었다.

  • 흰느타리버섯(Pleurotus cornucopiae(Per.) Rolland)중의 단백질을 선택적으로 분리정제하기 위하여 AH-Sepharose 4B를 출발 물질로 하여 benzoyl-AH-Sepharose 4B를 합성하여 친화성 크로마토그래피하였다. 1) AH-Sepharose 4B 중의 amino기의 capacity는 겔 Iml 당 $9.5{\mu}mol$ 이었으며 합성겔의 리간드인 benzoyl기의 capacity는 겔 1ml당 $9.3{\mu}mol4이었다. 2) 친화성이 있는 단백질의 총 겉보기 분자량은 255,000 돌톤 이었으며, 이는 29,500, 31,500, 34,000, 71,000 및 89,000돌톤 단백질의 복합체였다. 3) 친화성 단백질 중의 아미노산 함량은 비극성 아미노산이 45.68%, 극성 아미노산이 26.93%, 양성 아미노산이 11.81%, 그리고 음성 아미노산이15.58%였다. 4) 소수성 benzoyl기에 친화성이 있는 단백질은 비극성인 것이 선택적으로 분리되었다.

바다방석고둥육의 동결저장중 단백질조성과 근육조직의 변화 (Changes of Protein Composition and Muscle Tissues in Top Shell Meat during Frozen Storage)

  • To investigate the quality changes during frozen storage, top shell, Omphalius pfeifferi capenteri, was stored at -18$^{\circ}C$, -$25^{\circ}C$ and -3$0^{\circ}C$ immediately after shelling and water holding capacity, protein composition and histological features were examined with the lapsed period of the storage. During the storage period, amount of free drip was increased with higher frozen temperature and longer frozen period, but with the longer storage period, the lower water holding capacity was observed. The extractability and composition of muscle protein, sarcoplasmic protein and stroma protein were rather stable regardless of frozen temperature and frozen storage period. However, the extractability of myofibrillar protein was decreased with higher frozen temperature and longer frozen storage period. On the changes of muscle tissue structure, following points were observed. 1) In the muscle tissue structure of fresh sample, fine muscle fiber was closely distributed all over the tissue regardless of cross and longitudinal section. 2) In tissue structure under frozen state, it was observed that ice crystals apparently grew with the higher storage temperature. Empty spaces between muscle bundles which wee formed by aggregations of muscle fiber were observed after 3 months storage at -18$^{\circ}C$ . 3) Tissue structure in thawed state was restored satisfactorily after 1 month storage regardless of storage temperature. After 3 months storage at -3$0^{\circ}C$, muscle tissue was well restored, but at -18$^{\circ}C$, empty spaces were apparent due to incomplete restoration.

유도전동기에 대한 역률 보상설비의 특성 해석 (A Characteristic Study on the Power Factor Correction Application for Induction Motor)

  • 유도전동기의 자계는 전류의 방향에 따라 자화 및 감자되는 특성을 가지고 있다. 전통기의 자계를 형성하는데 필요한 자화전류는 유도성으로 무효전력의 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 무효전력은 유도전동기가 동작하는데 필요한 자계를 지속시키는 역할을 한다. 유도전통기의 역률은 낮은 편이므로 역률 보상이 필요하다. 유도전동기를 정격출력보다 낮은 부하로 운전할 경우 유효전력에 비해 무효성분의 비율증가로 역률이 낮아진다. 역률 보상장치의 용량은 전동기 정격에 맞도록 설치하기를 권고하고 있다. 그러나 부하의 운전상황에 따라 역률 보상용 커패시터 값은 수정하기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 저압 소용량 유도 전동기에 연결된 부하의 변화에 따라 전력 및 역률의 동작특성을 해석한 결과 기존에 제시된 낮은 역률 보상용 파라미터는 수정되어야 함을 확인하였다.

Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment of Cool-Season Grasslands Based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process Method

  • Climate change effects are particularly apparent in many cool-season grasslands in South Korea. Moreover, the probability of climate extremes has intensified and is expected to increase further. In this study, we performed climate change vulnerability assessments in cool-season grasslands based on the analytic hierarchy process method to contribute toward effective decision-making to help reduce grassland damage caused by climate change and extreme weather conditions. In the analytic hierarchy process analysis, vulnerability was found to be influenced in the order of climate exposure (0.575), adaptive capacity (0.283), and sensitivity (0.141). The climate exposure rating value was low in Jeju-do Province and high in Daegu (0.36-0.39) and Incheon (0.33-0.5). The adaptive capacity index showed that grassland compatibility (0.616) is more important than other indicators. The adaptation index of Jeollanam-do Province was higher than that of other regions and relatively low in Gangwon-do Province. In terms of sensitivity, grassland area and unused grassland area were found to affect sensitivity the most with index values of 0.487 and 0.513, respectively. The grassland area rating value was low in Jeju-do and Gangwon-do Province, which had large grassland areas. In terms of vulnerability, that of Jeju-do Province was lower and of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province higher than of other regions. These results suggest that integrating the three aspects of vulnerability (climate exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity) may offer comprehensive and spatially explicit adaptation plans to reduce the impacts of climate change on the cool-season grasslands of South Korea.

Microencapsulated basil oil (Ocimum basilicum Linn.) enhances growth performance, intestinal morphology, and antioxidant capacity of broiler chickens in the tropics

  • Objective: Microencapsulation is a technique to improve stability, bioavailability, and controlled release of active ingredients at a target site. This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of microencapsulated basil oil (MBO) on growth performance, apparent ileal digestibility (AID), jejunal histomorphology, bacterial population as well as antioxidant capacity of broiler chickens in a tropical climate. Methods: A total of 288 one-day-old female broilers (Ross 308) were randomly allocated into 4 groups (6 replicates of 12 birds), based on a completely randomized design. Dietary treatments were as follows: i) basal diet (NC), ii) basal diet with avilamycin at 10 ppm (PC), iii) basal diet with free basil oil (FBO) at 500 ppm, and iv) basal diet with MBO at 500 ppm, respectively. Results: Dietary supplementation of MBO improved average daily gain, and feed conversion ratio of broilers throughout the 42-d trial period (p<0.05), whereas MBO did not affect average daily feed intake compared with NC group. The broilers fed MBO diet exhibited a greater AID of crude protein and gross energy compared with those in other groups (p<0.05). Lactobacillus spp. and Escherichia coli populations were not affected by feeding dietary treatments. Both FBO and MBO had positive effects on jejunal villus height (VH), villus height to crypt depth ratio (VH:CD) and villus surface area of broilers compared to NC and PC groups (p<0.05). Superoxide dismutase level in the duodenal mucosa of MBO group was significantly increased (p<0.01), whereas malondialdehyde level was significantly decreased (p<0.01). Conclusion: Microencapsulation could be considered as a promising driver of the basil oil efficiency, consequently MBO at 500 ppm could be potentially used as a feed additive for improvement of intestinal integrity and nutrient utilization, leading to better performance of broiler chickens.

The development of a new type of functional fresh apple juice using prebiotic fibers, ginger extract, and cardamom essential oil: Antioxidant capacity and chemical analysis

  • The formulation of a novel functional fresh apple juice enriched with dietary prebiotic fiber (inulin or polydextrose), ginger extract (GE), and cardamom essential oil (CEO) was carried out based on a combined D-optimal design. In the first stage, sensory evaluation was performed to screen and select the optimum sample for further experiments. The sensory evaluation showed that the sample containing inulin 0.25 g/100 g GE and 0.03 g/100 g CEO had the highest organoleptic score. In the second stage, various chemical experiments, including pH, acidity, formalin index, total phenol, flavonoids, antioxidant capacity, and vitamin C content, were evaluated on the selected enriched apple juices. The addition of GE and CEO caused changes in nutritional characteristics, including antioxidant capacity, total phenol, flavonoids, vitamin C, and IC50, from 35 g/100 g, 350 mg GAE/g, 17 mg/L, 370 mg/kg, and 1,800 mg/kg to 45 g/100 g, 460 mg GAE/g, 21 mg/L, 420 mg/kg, and 1,200 mg/kg respectively. The steady shear flow and dynamic oscillatory shear rheological tests were also performed on the screened samples, and results showed that the addition of dietary fiber in apple juices increased the apparent viscosity, storage modulus, loss modulus, and complex viscosity. In general, adding plant extracts and processed essential oil to apple juice increased the nutritional-nutraceutical value and sensory attributes of apple juice.
