마이크로파 유전체 $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}NbO_{4}$$V_{2}O_{5}$ 첨가에 따른 유전특성 (The microwave dielectric properties of $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}NbO_{4}$ doped with $V_{2}O_{5}$)

  • The microwave dielectric properties and the microstructures on $Bi_{0.97}Nb_{0.03}O_{4}$doped with $V_{2}O_{5}$ were systematically investigated. $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}Nb_{0.03}O_{4}$ ceramics sintered at $920-960^{\circ}C$were mainly consisted of orthorhombic and triclinic phases after addition of $V_{2}O_{5}$. The apparent density increased slightly with increasing the $V_{2}O_{5}$ addition. The dielectric $constants(\varepsilon_r)$ also increased with $V_{2}O_{5}$ addition(30-45). The $Q{\times}f_0$ values measured on $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}NbO_4$ ceramics doped with $V_{2}O_{5}$ were between 2,000 and 12,000[GHz] when the sintering temperatures are in the range of $920-960[^{\circ}C]$. It was confirmed the temperature coefficient of the resonant $frequency(\tau_f)$ can be adjusted from a positive value of $+10[ppm/^{\circ}C]$ to a negative value of $-15ppm/^{\circ}C$ by increasing the amount of $V_{2}O_{5}$. Based on our experimental results, the Bi0.97Tm0.03NbO4(added V2O5) ceramics can be applied to multilayer microwave devices at low sintering temperatures.

  • Effects of ceramic filler types and dose on the low temperature sintering and dielectric properties of ceramic/$CaO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ (CAS) glass composites were investigated. All of the specimens were sintered at $850{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, which conditions are required by the low-temperature co-firing ceramic (LTCC) technology. Ceramic fillers of $CaCO_3$, $Al_2O_3$, $CaCO_3-Al_2O_3$ mixture, and $CaCO_3-Al_2O_3$ compound ($CaAl_2O_4$), respectively, were used. The addition of $Al_2O_3$ yielded the crystalline phase of alumina, which was associated with the inhibition of sintering, while, $CaCO_3$ resulted in no apparent crystalline phase but the swelling was significant. The additions of $CaCO_3-Al_2O_3$ mixture and $CaAl_2O_4$, respectively, yielded the crystalline phases of alumina and anorthite, and the sintering properties of both composites increased with the increase of filler addition and the sintering temperature. In addition, the $CaAl_2O_4$/CAS glass composite, sintered at $900^{\circ}C$, demonstrated good microwave dielectric properties. In overall, all the investigated fillers of 10 wt% addition, except $CaCO_3$, yielded reasonable sintering (relative density, over 93 %) and low dielectric constant (less than 5.5), demonstrating the feasibility of the investigated composites for the application of the LTCC substrate materials.

  • A mechanism for formation of surface reoxidation layer in Surface Boundary Layer Capacitor (SBLC) has been studied. SBLC were prepared by reduction of $BaTiO_3$ doped with $Bi_2O_3$ and electrode firing of silver paste containing $Bi_2O_3$ The apparent dielectric constant was in the order of $10^5$ and the insulation resistance larger than $10^6$$\Omega$ It can be expected that $Bi_2O_3$ dopant in $BaTiO_3$ plays the role of inhibition of grain growth and decreasing the resistivity of $BaTiO_3$. In order to confirm the process of surface reoxidation layer effects of atmosphere and annealing time in electrode sintering were investigated.

PCFN-PZW계의 마이크로파 유전 특성에 미치는 Pb계 Flux의 영향 (Effect of Pb based flux on the Microwave Dielectric Properties of PCFN-PZW System)

  • (Pb$\_$0.4/Ca$\_$0.6/)(Fe$\_$1/2/Nb$\_$1/2/)O$_3$ system was modified by 10 mol% Pb(Zn$\_$1/2/W$\_$1/2/)O$_3$ addition and their sinterability and microwave properties were investigated as a function of the amount of flux (0.975PbO-0.025SnO$_2$). With increasing flux content, single perovskite phase was maintained up to 3 wt% flux addition and further addition led to the presence of Pb-rich second phase which was confirmed by EDS analysis. The apparent densities of PCFN-PZW specimen increased and showed maximum values at 2.5 wt% flux addition for the Ts=1000$^{\circ}C$ and 2.0wt% flux addition for the Ts=1050$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The dielectric constant and Q$.$f values strongly depended on the variation of density and microstructure, where the optimum values of $\varepsilon$$\_$r/ = 91.95, Q$.$f = 5938GHz, TCF = +8.15ppm/$^{\circ}C$ were obtained for the 2.5wt% flux added PCFN-PZW specimen sintered at 1000$^{\circ}C$ for 4h.

산화아연계 MOV 소자의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성에 이산화 규소가 미치는 영향 (Effects of $SiO_2$ Additive on the Microstructure and Electrical Characteristics of Zinc Oxide-Based MOV)

  • Zinc oxide-based MOV was fabricated with $SiO_2$ additive ranging from 0.5 to 4.0 mol%, and the microstructure and electrical characteristics were investigated. $Zn_2SiO_4$ phase formed by $SiO_2$ additive was distributed at ZnO grains, grain boundaries, and multiple grain junctions. As the content of $SiO_2$ additive increases, average grain size decreased from 40.6 to $26.9{\mu}m$ due to the Pinning effect by $Zn_2SiO_4$ at grain boundaries Breakdown voltage and nonlinear exponent increased, and leakage current decreased in the range of $11.2{\sim}6.14{\mu}A$ with an increasing $SiO_2$. Donor concentration and interface state density decreased, and barrier height increased in the range of $0.71{\sim}1.04eV$ with an increasing $SiO_2$. While, as the content of $SiO_2$ additive, apparent dielectric constant decreased, peak frequency of dissipation factor decreased in the range of $6.45{\times}10^5{\sim}3.00{\times}10^5Hz$, and dissipation peak was $0.31{\sim}0.22$ at Peak frequency.

Properties of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate / Triton X-100 Mixed Micelle

  • The cmc's of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)/Triton X-100 surfactant mixtures were determined by surface tension measurement at various surfactant compositions. The cmc values were lower than those predicted from ideal mixture. The regular solution theory was applied to calculate the interaction parameter, micellar composition, and the activity coefficients of surfactants in the mixed micelle. The interaction parameter (${\beta}$) was - 2.1. The nonideality arised largely from decreased activity of SDS in the mixed micelle. The mean aggregation numbers (${\bar{n}}$) and micropolarity of hydrocarbon region of the mixed micelles were determined by luminescence probe techniques. The total aggregation number (${\bar{n}}_{SDS}+{\bar{n}}_{TX}$) in mixed micelles showed little dependency on the composition of the micelle. The apparent dielectric constant of the hydrocarbon region of the micelle vs micellar composition plot showed positive deviation from linearity. Emission and emission quenching of excited tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(Ⅱ) cation, $(Ru(bpy)_3^{2+})$, by methylviologen ($MV^{2+}$) were also investigated in the mixed micellar solutions. The quenching rate was lowest when the mole fraction of SDS in the surfactant mixtures (${\alpha}_{SDS}$) is about 0.25 and highest at ${\alpha}_{SDS}$ = 0.85. This was explained in terms of combined effects of binding of the cations with the micelle and mobility of the bound cations on the surface of the micelles.

  • The unit-water content has a very significant effect on the durability of the construction structure and the quality of concrete. Although there are various methods for measuring the unit-water content, there are problems of time required for measurement, precision, and reproducibility. Recently, there is an FDR sensor capable of measuring moisture content in real time through an apparent dielectric constant change of electromagnetic waves. In addition, various artificial intelligence techniques that can non-linearly supplement the accuracy of FDR sensors are being studied. In this study, the accuracy of unit-water content measurement was compared and evaluated using machine learning and deep learning techniques after normalizing the data secured in concrete using frequency domain reflectometry (FDR) sensors used to measure soil moisture at home and abroad. The result of comparing the accuracy of machine learning and deep learning is judged to be excellent in the accuracy of deep learning, which can well express the nonlinear relationship between FDR sensor data and concrete unit-water content.

Y2O3-AlN 세라믹스의 생성상 및 물성에 미치는 WO3 및 Ga2O3의 첨가효과 (Effect of WO3 or Ga2O3 Addition on the Phase Evolution and Properties of Y2O3-Doped AlN Ceramics)

  • The effect of a $WO_3$ or $Ga_2O_3$ addition on the densification, phase evolution, optical reflectance, and elastic and dielectric properties of $Y_2O_3$-doped AlN ceramics sintered at $1800^{\circ}C$ for 3 h is investigated. The investigated compositions of the additives are 4.5 wt% $Y_2O_3$ (YA), 3.5 wt% $Y_2O_3$-1.0 wt% $Ga_2O_3$ (YGA), and 3.5 wt% $Y_2O_3$-1.0 wt% $WO_3$ (YWA). $YAlO_3$ and $Y_4Al_2O_9$ form as the secondary phases in all of the investigated compositions, whereas $W_2B$ appears additionally in the YWA. In the YGA, Ga is detected in the AlN grains, indicating that the dissolution of $Ga_2O_3$ into the AlN lattice occurs. The addition of $WO_3$ blackens the specimen more significantly than that of $Ga_2O_3$ does. In all of the investigated specimens, the linear shrinkage and the apparent density are above 20 percent and in the range of 3.34-3.37 $g/cm^3$, respectively. The elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio, the dielectric constant, and the dielectric loss are in the ranges of 335-368 GPa, 0.146-0.237, 8.60-8.63, $2.65-3.95{\times}10^{-3}$, respectively. The sinterability and the properties of $Y_2O_3$-doped AlN ceramics are not much altered by the addition of $WO_3$ or $Ga_2O_3$.

화학기상증착법에 의한$TiO_2$박막의 구조 및 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (Characterization of Structure and Electrical Properties of $TiO_2$Thin Films Deposited by MOCVD)

  • Titanium oxide$(TiO_{2})$ 박막을 금속 알콕사이드 물질인 $(Ti(OC_3H_7)_4$(titanium isopropoxide)를 이용하여 p-Si(100) 기판위에 상압 화학 기상 증착법으로 증착시켰다. $(TiO_{2})$ 박막의 증착기구는 단순경 계층 이론으로 잘 설명되었으며, 화학반응 지배 기구 영역에서 겉보기 활성화 에너지는 18.2kcal/mol이었다. 증착된 박막은 $250^{\circ}C$이상에서 anatase상의 결정질 박막이었으며, 고온에서 열처리를 했을 경우에 rutile상으로 전이하였다. 박막의 상전이에는 열처리 온도외에도 열처리 시간과 박막의 두께가 영향을 미쳤다. 정전용량-전압특성을 조사해 본 결과 전형적인 MOS 다이오드구조의 특성을 보였으며, 비유전율 상수는 약 80정도였다. 제조한 $(TiO_{2})$ 박막의 열처리 공정 후에는 정전용량이 감소하였으며, 첨가물을 사용한 박막은 열처리 전과 같았다. 이때 $V_{FB}$는 -0.5 ~ 1.5V였다. 전기전도 특성을 알아보기 위하여 전류-전압특성을 조사하였으며 증착된 박막의 전도기구는 hopping mechanism이었다. 전기적 특성을 개선하기 위해서 후열처리 방법과 박막 증착시 Nb, Sr을 첨가하였으며, 모두 누설전류의 감소와 정전파괴전압의 증가를 가져왔다.

Effect of Low-Temperature Sintering on Electrical Properties and Aging Behavior of ZVMNBCD Varistor Ceramics

  • This paper focuses on the electrical properties and stability against DC accelerated aging stress of ZnO-V2O5-MnO2-Nb2O5-Bi2O3-Co3O4-Dy2O3 (ZVMNBCD) varistor ceramics sintered at 850 - 925 ℃. With the increase of sintering temperature, the average grain size increases from 4.4 to 11.8 mm, and the density of the sintered pellets decreases from 5.53 to 5.40 g/㎤ due to the volatility of V2O5, which has a low melting point. The breakdown field abruptly decreases from 8016 to 1,715 V/cm with the increase of the sintering temperature. The maximum non-ohmic coefficient (59) is obtained when the sample is sintered at 875 ℃. The samples sintered at below 900 ℃ exhibit a relatively low leakage current, less than 60 mA/㎠. The apparent dielectric constant increases due to the increase of the average grain size with the increase of the sintering temperature. The change tendency of dissipation factor at 1 kHz according to the sintering temperature coincides with the tendency of the leakage current. In terms of stability, the samples sintered at 900 ℃ exhibit both high non-ohmic coefficient (45) and excellent stability, 0.8% in 𝚫EB/EB and -0.7 % in 𝚫α/α after application of DC accelerated aging stress (0.85 EB/85 ℃/24 h).
