  • As knowledge-based society comes to the fore, sharing knowledge becomes a hot issue. Among various types of knowledge, a significance of software(applications) and contents is a huge in a current society. Moreover, along with appearance of smartphone, for instance iPhone, Application Store(also known as AppStore) utilized as a common gateway for sharing software and contents, brings a big interest for many users and developers. However, prior research to understand users' behavior on AppStore has been a scant. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of key smart service environmental factors on AppStore in order to empirically explain users' psychological feelings of intention to use AppStore. Based on a well-known technology adoption model, TAM, the study incorporates three main characteristics(user, society, and service) with six constructs(Innovation, Enjoyment, Subjective Norm, Information Level, Content variety, and Cost), influencing perceived usefulness, which then affects users' intention to use AppStore. Results provide evidence that support the tested hypotheses. The implications of the findings suggest a new theoretical work for future AppStore research and offers suggestions that the researchers and practitioners of AppStore should consider regarding the development of application and contents.

  • This study investigates predictors of continuance intention and purchase intention in mobile application(App) stores. This study identifies the structural relationships among app store quality, user habit, switching costs, user loyalty, continuance intention, and purchase intention in mobile application stores. The results indicate that user loyalty increases continuance intention and purchase intention and that user habit positively affects perceived switching costs and user loyalty. App store quality is a formative construct including quality of content, ease of use, and security. App store quality affects user habit positively. This study theoretically and practically contributes to the integration of influential factors for continuance intention as well as purchase intention.

  • We conducted this study to identify the components of H&B store app service quality and their effect on customer satisfaction. The survey was conducted through an online survey for teenagers or older with experience in using H&B store app. A total of 330 copies were distributed and a total of 282 copies were used for the final analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, eight factors such as ease of use & design, fulfillment, playfulness, responsiveness, personalization, security, contextual usefulness, interactivity were derived as service quality components of H&B store app. Second, as a result of regression analysis, the six service quality components, such as 'ease of use & design', 'fulfillment', 'playfulness', 'responsiveness', 'security', and 'interactivity' were found to have a significant positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction (p<0.05) and 'playfulness (β=.372)' had the greatest effect on customer satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, we should strive to establish effective marketing strategies in the H&B industry.

  • In this paper, we collect and analyze the status of mobile phone applications (hereafter apps) in the healthcare and fitness category of the Apple iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. We determine the number of apps and analyze statistical aspects such as classifications, age rating, fees, and user evaluation of the popular items. As of September 30, 2013, there were 236 popular apps available from iTunes. Google Play offered 720 apps. We discover that apps for healthcare and fitness are diverse. Apps for physical exercise have the greatest popularity. The proportions of apps that are suitable for all ages among the Google and iTunes popular apps are 55.8% and 89.4%, respectively. The user evaluation of apps in iTunes is relatively less positive. We determine that the proportion of paid apps to free apps in Google is higher than that of the apps in iTunes. We perform hypothesis tests and find statistically significant differences in age rating and perceived satisfaction between the apps of the Apple iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. However, we find no meaningful differences in the classification and price of the apps between the two app stores. We perform hypothesis tests to verify the differences in age rating and perceived satisfaction between the paid and free apps within and across the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store. There are statistically significant differences in the age rating between the paid and free apps in the Google play store, between the Google free and iTunes free apps, between the Google paid and iTunes paid apps, between the Google free and iTunes paid apps, and between the Google paid and iTunes free apps. There are statistically significant differences in the perceived satisfaction between the Google free and iTunes free apps, between the Google paid and iTunes paid apps, between the Google free and iTunes paid apps, and between the Google paid and iTunes free apps.

  • In this paper, we propose a context awareness system to transfer accurate information of the app store based on collective intelligence. By using collective intelligence the system minimizes the errors that could occur when an individual process the problems, recommends APIs for developers and builds the app store for not only customers but also developers. In addition, this system applies the ontology technique to aware the context of consumers, recommends the app suitable for the consumer and provides the information for app developers. By utilizing the deduction technique of the Jena, the context awareness system infers the context of a consumer and constructs the app store system which improves the existing app stores. In the point of service transfer and accuracy, the proposed app store system module show better performance than the existing app store.

  • Purpose More than 7.6 million mobile apps could be approved on both Apple iTunes Store and Google Play. For managing those existed Apps, Apple Inc. established twenty-four primary categories, as well as Google Play had thirty-three primary categories. However, all of their categorizations have appeared more and more problems in managing and classifying numerous apps, such as app miscategorized, cross-attribution problems, lack of categorization keywords index, etc. The purpose of this study focused on introducing individual information cognitive processing as the classification criteria to update the current categorization on Apple iTunes Store. Meanwhile, we tried to observe the effectiveness of the new criteria from a classification process on Apple iTunes Store. Design/Methodology/Approach A research approach with four research stages were performed and a series of mixed methods was developed to identify the feasibility of adopting individual information cognitive processing as categorization criteria. By using machine-learning techniques with Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency and Singular Value Decomposition, keyword lists were extracted. By using the prior research results related to car app's categorization, we developed individual information cognitive processing. Further keywords extracting process from the extracted keyword lists was performed. Findings By TF-IDF and SVD, keyword lists from more than five thousand apps were extracted. Furthermore, we developed individual information cognitive processing that included a categorization teaching process and learning process. Three top three keywords for each category were extracted. By comparing the extracted results with prior studies, the inter-rater reliability for two different methods shows significant reliable, which proved the individual information cognitive processing to be reliable as criteria of categorization on Apple iTunes Store. The updating suggestions for Apple iTunes Store were discussed in this paper and the results of this paper may be useful for app store hosts to improve the current categorizations on app stores as well as increasing the efficiency of app discovering and locating process for both app developers and users.

  • The smart phone are changing the way people communicate. And, the mobile app marketplace is greatly fast-growing. The app store continues its rapid growth, there are already more than 900,000 mobile apps on AppStore. We anticipate to see gained momentum throughout the business. Mobile is also becoming popular for marketers. Therefore, specialized app analysis systems are becoming important to how marketers and app developers invest, analyze and market their apps. App analysis systems enable users to discover and analyze behavior through data observations and meaningful patterns. In this paper, we introduce app analysis system and CMS System Open API, NugaLog. The NugaLog acquires users data and engages with them in a variety of ways. It will be essential for us to understand how users interact with and move through the app. The NugaLog will be able to see the number of users, smart phone model, smart phone OS, resolution, page views, and app version.

  • According to popularization of smart phones, we can easily see the QR code attached to products. Restaurants also provide customers with store information using QR code. Sixteen years have passed since QR code was developed. In Korea, QR code has been widely utilized in the field of marketing because of easiness of technique implementation and channel expansion to mobile. However, to recognize QR code, we should run the proper application and focus on it during loading time. To address this problem, this paper proposes the app to manage store information using NFC technology. The proposed app saves easily store information through the name card of a store and facilitates its management obtained by a smart phone.
